JLS star takes clothes off when drunk

JLS singer Aston Merrygold has revealed that he likes to take his clothes off after a few drinks.
.11 September 2009 11:41 AM

Aston Merrygold, singer with X Factor boyband JLS has revealed to Star Magazine that he has an unusual reaction to drinking - he likes to remove his clothes. This is a confession that will, no doubt, delight his hordes of adoring female fans.

The Beat Again hitmaker said: "I like to take my clothes off when I've had a few drinks. About two New Year's Eves ago I stripped down to my boxers at a friend's house."

JLS aren't shy about their love of partying. Recent reports that they blew Β£6,000 on alcohol in one night were denied by the band, but the boys are often spotted at top nightspots.

Aston, 21, who was rumoured to be romantically linked with Eurovision star Jade Ewen, recently admitted to OK Magazine that he fancied Alesha Dixon and Cheryl Cole. "I'm sure that Alesha, me and Cheryl would be great lovers!" he confessed.

JLS are gearing up for the release of their second single Everybody in Love on 19th October. Revealing the details on their official website, band member JB said: "It’s gonna be absolutely huge and we can’t wait for you guys hear it and see the work we’ve put in to keep u guys smiling!!"

Beat Again, their debut single, hit the top of the singles charts for two weeks last month and the guys are hoping that their second record will be just as big a success.

JLS have also released UK & Ireland tour dates for January and February 2010. The tour will kick off in Margate and end in Dublin

BBBM Gossip!!
-------------
I was in the audience for last night's Big Brother's Mouth!

It was the first time I had ever been in the BBBM Studio and it was pretty small so it was a bit weird knowing that allll the housemates would be in that same confined space.

First of all i'll start by saying, there honestly wasn't as much tension as one would be expecting, I think it's because people were sat in their groups anyway (for the most part) so they were all having a laugh e.t.c

When they first all walked into the studio.. some of them came over to say hello to the audience and were taking pictures of us.

- Saffia recognised my friend and I from the other day and waved at us

- Lisa came over to us both and said hello and shook our hands and said hello and gave us a kiss (It's weird because I really didn't like her in the house but she's pretty cool on the outside)

- Rodrigo was a real sweetie as usual going round everyone to say hello, I passed on a letter from Mikay to him which he said he'll definitley read and got another hug and a kiss and generally didn't want to let go of him.

- Beinazir was also another really nice one with the crowd.. taking pictures, saying hello. I think when she was in front of me, either Siavash or Rodrigo were behind her so I was trying to call them but she saw me and gave me a hug ( she seemed like she recognised me - I sent her a facebook request, maybe from there)

- SIAVASH is my FAVOURITE housemate so it was nice to see him again. He had some kind of facemask on and his hair was looking as beautifully as ever. I didn't think I'd get to say hey because the studio was pretty loud for me to be heard but luckily my friend called him over and told him to say hello to me and he did and hugs and kisses and I told him he was my favourite housemate and then he was holding my hand and I was trying to thank him for replying to me on facebook and I'm not even sure if he could hear what I was saying, he did say something back but I really couldn't heas :/

- Marcus! I love Marcus because he just doesn't give a shit... He sat on my row when he came in was talking to some girls further down me and when the floor woman told him to move, he was very unimpressed.

Anyway as you'll see today, the show was divided into 4 parts:

- Relationships
- Arguments
- Crocodile Tears
- Awards Ceremony

A lot of the relationship segement was about Noirin naturally who I can say 100 percent is dating Tom. They were very very very cosy for the whole of the night, whispering, lauughing etc. and what I noticed was that they were pretty detached from the rest of the group and would only interact with each other (although sometimes Kris came over to talk to them, probably because nobody else wanted him around)

Noirin and Tom were very coy when asked what was going on with them saying they were still getting to know each other but they did admit they fancied her.

Naturally Davina asked Siavash what he thought of this and he was really embarassed at first but then wished them luck with the relationship and then OWNED Noirin by saying that she owed him Β£1,000 because she told him she wouldn't do topless modelling.. Noirin seemed pretty embarrased by this but everybody else was amused.

He mentioned the money Sophie was giving him and said with Norin's money added he could do something 'amazing'. Davina then proceeded to ask Sopie and Sophie said she was giving Β£10,000 to Siavash for charity and said that she loved Siavash and she mentioned the rest of her money would go towards a place in Leeds with Rodrigo.. They're sooo cute guys.. Davina even said they were the best couple in the house.

I apologise if this isn't in order but Charlie and Rodrigo were also asked about each other and they both admitted they fancied each other and kissed twice for the camera ( Davina missed them the first time) although Davina wasn't convinced anything was going on and that they were all just putting it on for her.

The Sophie and Kris thing got discussed and Sophie said she could do better than him and he said he's 'done better'.... everybody seemed on Sophie's side.

Davina then proceeded to talk about the most important relationship in the house and then they played a special VT on Cairon and Siavash xD

Davina then spoke to Cairon ( who was looking Siavashesque actually - he had make up on one eye) who said they hadn't washed each other's hair since leaving the house YET and that they had been hanging out and that Siavash was going round his house for Sunday lunch Their friendship IMO is very genuine, they were talking throughout the show and the breaks ( Cairon was sitting behind Siavash and they kept whispering).

The next segemnent was about the argument/strops in the house and it was all focused on Bea obviously. I've had a complete MIND BLANK on what she said but she did seem pretty apologetic and Siavash asked to speak about her but was cut off.. Davina spooke to Freddie who said everything was ' coolio' - BTW Freddie came across as a bit of a loner yesterday :/ He was sat next to Beinazir and an audience member and a lot of the time I saw him.. he was talking to nobody and just sitting there

During the commerical break.. Siavash went to speak to Davina and asked her why he wouldn't let Bea defend herself and Davina insisted she did and that Bea had to deal with her behaviour in the house and seemed pretty pissed off that Siavash was challening her. Siavash then went sat back down next to Bea and was like 'I triedd'. I think those two must be friends now and he kept shouting out 'Misjudged' whenever they showed a horrible VT of her.

The last segement was some awards ceremony.. The first award was for 'Best Gay'- David won ( some medal). Davina tried to make Rodrigo admit he was gay and not bisexual but I think he got confused with what she was saying. Sophie won the award for grooming (everybody laughed when they showed the morning shots) and Sree won the award for the best housemate andthen made some longgg 'heartwarming' speech and I honestly thought he was going to start crying.

BTW- before I forget- Kenny, Karly and Sophia weren't there.

Saffia said she loved Karly but that Kenny was really controlling of her and he wouldn't let her answer her phone or dance with them on Monday at the wrap party but Bea said Kenny had been really nice on the outside.

When asked about keeping in touch, Saffia said she'd hang around with Lisa, Charlie, David and Kris but no more because he was a PLAYER but Lisa tried to stick up for him. When Marcus was asked he mentioned Freddie and Siavash, not sure who else and a couple of them said they were going to Angels boxing match next week!

At the end of the show Lethal Bizzle played and Brian Belo came out once again in an outrageous costume :/

I wanted to say Bye to Siavash and attempt to get a photo but he literally SPED out of the studio way before the others - I hope he was OK.

Charlie was really rude again towards my friend and very reluctant towards taking a photo with him - I have no idea what his problem is.

I hated Bea in the house but she was really sweet to my friend and gave me a high 5 when I told her we had the same name xD and I got a picture wih the one and only IDH Marcus who then randomly kissed my forehead.

That was it for a longggg night.. sorry if I missed anything to out. Feel free to ask any questions if you have any!

*Ohhh - I totally forgot to mention that Siavash has a STYLIST lol... His phone started ringing halfway through the show and when Davina announced him as his stylist... Siavash got embarrassed!

'American Idol' Execs Reveal Story Behind Ellen DeGeneres' Hiring

After producers came up with the idea, it took just two weeks to get the talk-show host to sign on.
By Eric Ditzian

Paula Abdul quit "American Idol" a mere three days before Simon Cowell and the rest of the judges' panel were set to begin overseeing the audition process for season nine, leaving the show rushing to fill her chair with a series of guest judges. The prospect of an entire season populated by a rotating fourth judge seemed a definite possibility, as did the eventual return of Abdul. But after execs came up with a plan to settle Ellen DeGeneres in Abdul's vacated seat permanently, their idea became a reality in little more than two weeks.

Reports in Variety and the Los Angeles Times revealed fresh details about how the comedian and talk-show host joined the most popular show in the country.

"All of a sudden it hit us, 'I wonder if she's interested,' " Fox reality-TV chief Mike Darnell told Variety, explaining that DeGeneres' guest appearance on "So You Think You Can Dance" this summer and her co-hosting stint for 2007's "Idol Gives Back" inspired them to think of her. "Not only was she interested, but she was incredibly enthusiastic."

The five-year deal came together so quickly that many details, including when she will debut on the show, are still being hammered out. "She will absolutely at a minimum be there for the boy-girl rounds," Darnell said.

Darnell indicated that "Idol" might have shifted back to a three-judge panel β€” as was the case before last year's signing of Kara DioGuardi β€” had the show not signed DeGeneres. But Cecile Frot-Coutaz, the head of "Idol" producer FremantleMedia North America, maintained that the singing competition was committed to sticking with a fourth judge to complement Cowell, DioGuardi and Randy Jackson.

Though Jackson told MTV News that he's happy to welcome aboard DeGeneres, he said he also regrets that Abdul is no longer with the show.

"We were doing the auditions, and I was looking across the table and it was like, 'Where's Paula? What's going on?' " he told People. "But you know, things happen, life is full of change sometimes. You know, I'm still sad about that."

What certainly has "Idol" execs smiling is the ability to market its contestants on DeGeneres' popular syndicated show. "It feeds one another, absolutely," Darnell told the LA Times. "It's a win for us, as she'll be talking about it more on her show. And certainly people will come to 'Idol' to see how she does. There's a huge curiosity factor."

Jamie Oliver's guilty secret
The naked chef feels he has more, yes more, of his life to share with us
Hadley Freeman
The Guardian, Friday 11 September 2009

Jamie Oliver feels guilty about 'not sharing' some moments in his life.

Jamie Oliver: man, we just don't get enough of him these days. Sure, he's interviewed in your Sunday supplement magazine, sure he's serialising his recipes, sure he's there on TV advertising himself, advertising Sainsbury's – but are we, the shady peasants, getting enough sunshine radiating off this man's gorgeous life? Jamie worries about this, too. One journalist recently asked, presumably po-faced, whether the chef didn't ever fancy having a Sunday lunch with friends that wasn't accompanied by Channel 4 cameramen shoving their lenses in his kids' faces? "We do plenty of that," Oliver began, unconvincingly. "But when I do it, I feel guilty about not sharing." Note the change from "we" to "I", incidentally.

And there you were thinking that he whored out himself and his family because of an aching inner emptiness that is only temporarily filled by attention from strangers and a desire for shallow validation from sharing one's life to a Twitter-like degree.

It's just as Lost in Showbiz has always said. That's the problem with celebrity chefs: they just don't think about themselves enough.

Hi Mollie.wavey

A good night out that was, super food, started with Hot & Sour soup, then a load of great starters, then the Duck with the pancakes and Hoi Sin sauce, then had curried beef and fried rice followed by deep fried Banana with syrup and ice cream.
A couple of my Lads had extra meals as well, but I had had plenty.

It's sad he's going back, and he feels as though he never left in the first place, strange isn't it.

Enjoy your day in Tenby, catch you later tomorrow then.

Bruce Forsyth takes cut in his Strictly Come Dancing salary
Patrick Foster, Media Correspondent

Bruce Forsyth, the octogenarian host of Strictly Come Dancing, has become the latest BBC presenter to announce that he has taken a pay cut. Forsyth, 81, said on the corporation’s programme Newsnight that he thought that entertainers β€œget paid far too much”. He is thought to have taken a 25 per cent pay cut, taking his salary for the series to Β£500,000, from Β£660,000.

The BBC has used the recession as an opportunity to drive down salaries to its highest-paid performers by about 25 per cent, in an attempt to head-off criticism from its commercial rivals that it is distorting the market.

Forsyth said: β€œIt’s a good thing to cap the salaries and I think it should have probably been done a long time ago. Everyone’s done it with goodwill because these are very, very hard times and it’s only right. We’ve always been overpaid, but it’s the demand.

β€œIt’s like theatres, you’ll only command a high salary if [you], as the old saying goes, put bums on seats. So if you are in that position, that does give you a status of asking for big money. But everybody’s taken pay cuts now, I think it’s a very good thing.”

A Tory dilemma: how to tame the BBC
Tory wants salary cap on new BBC boss
Other performers to announce that they have taken a pay cut include the Jonathan Creek actor Alan Davies, who said he had taken a 25 per cent cut, and the Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles, who took a 20 per cent cut.

And Graham Norton, who is thought to be on a Β£5 million three-year deal agreed only yesterday that stars such as himself and Jonathan Ross were paid too much.

β€œWe are overpaid, absolutely, but to have your salary publicised, that’s just rude,” he said.

β€œI’m happy to admit we are paid too much, when you think about it, but why should people know the exact figures? It’s not right. I mean, we just don’t talk about how much we’re paid – I’m referring to people in general β€” we don’t talk about what we’re paid.People keep their salaries private, so why is it any different if you are on the TV?”

One man who is not thought to have had his pay docked is Chris Evans, who was revealed this week as the replacement for Terry Wogan on Radio 2’s breakfast show. The BBC has had nearly 200 complaints about the decision

Hi Emptybox.Wave
Glorious day here, and today as well.

Don't you just love a Banquet, all you can eat for Β£11.90, but with 50 items to choose from, it's heaven really.

My Lad flight was around 9am, he has a day stopover in Singapore again, gets back to Brisbane on Monday.

I recorded BBBM, haven't seen it yet though.

Went to my Lads for Brekkie, then went for fuel, had a 5p ticket off from Sainsbury's so it was under Β£1 a litre.

Will have to see if there's any news.

Surprise X Factor Gem Jade Shines Brighter Than Cutsie Lucie
BY SARAH BOND ON SEPTEMBER 12, 2009 10:38 AM IN THE X FACTOR

As we hurtle towards another Saturday night slice of hits and horrors on The X Factor, everyone's been raving about Cutsie Lucie Jones this week. But for me schoolgirl Jade Fubara (above) was a surprise gem who totally outshone her.

Yes Lucie (above), in her simple white dress and sandals was charming in a fey, Diana Vickers Earth Child sort of way, and the big talent from the little Welsh village has had more than a million hits on You Tube. But Jade has created an instant internet buzz, too.

The judges were shocked when she said she was going to sing Jennifer Holliday's And I'm Telling You from the broadway musical Dreamgirls (below). "Are you really?" asked Simon Cowell. "That's a big song, Jade."
Link Here (Click)

It was made even more famous by Oscar-winning Jennifer Hudson in the 2006 movie. But the 17-year-old A level student from London was fearless - and blew everyone's socks off with her big, brave voice as she sang her astounding version - without music, to boot. Much more impressive than Cutsie Lucie.

And here's an amazing video of Jennifer Holliday duetting the same song with Jennifer Hudson:

Jade had told us: "I want to show people what I can actually do," "I've been singing since I was 11 or 12. I taught myself in the beginning."

When she sang the line: "You're going to love me", boy, they did, and so did I. The audience were in raptures, and I've never seen such a huge spark in Simon's eye.

Surprisingly, he kept the strength of his excitement hidden from Jade, simply smiling and saying: "Jade, I predict good things for you. Four yeses."

But as she left the stage he turned to the others, wide-eyed, and whispered "Unbelievable!"

Too true. I can't wait to see what she does with the songs they give her in boot camp. The second line of her song was "I'm not going" - and Jade certainly isn't going anywhere but up!

And with shock talents like Jade already raising the roof, I can't wait to see what this weekend brings...

β€˜We need a national campaign,’ says Dannii, 37. β€˜He’s letting the side down.

β€˜We need to ditch the boring trousers and T-shirts.’

Dannii is urging Simon to follow the lead of his fellow judges.

β€˜It’s so much fun dressing up,’ she tells The Sun. β€˜It’s an important part of the show – the contestants come along expecting a special day.

By Anisa Kadri

Anton du Beke has said that Strictly Come Dancing contestant Laila Rouass looks "promising".

The dancer admitted that he wasn't sure who Laila Rouass was before being partnered with the actress for the dance show, reports the Daily Mail.

However, he revealed that he was impressed with Rouass's walk, saying: "She looks promising. As she came towards me, she walked in a perfect straight line.

"She didn't limp or list to one side. I was very pleased because I haven't had that for a while."

Du Beke hasn't won the dance competition before and said that he would "love to", adding: "I've got about 14 different show dances spinning around in my head. And every year I have my outfits planned."

The next series of Strictly Come Dancing begins on September 18 on BBC One.

What great weather we are having. Smiler
I get sunburnt off a light bulb so must remember to use some cream, I almost always forget though. Roll Eyes Not one to lie in the sun all day though, I like to keep out of it most of the time.

Went to see The Final Destination in 3D last night, didn't think much of the film but the effects are fantastic. Gore and 3D are sickening together lol. Can't wait for Avatar in 3D out soon.

Hope everyone's well. Smiler

Evening Kev and everybody.

Weather has been fantastic here, more like summer than summer was and I like the light at this time of year on sunny afternoons, it is special. Whether it is because it gets darker earlier, but the light just seems different in September, gotta admit, this is one of my favourite months of the whole year.

Hope we have a bit more of this lovely weather.

I used to have to take 2 lots, one every 6hrs (4 times a day) and one every 8hrs(3 times a day).
So for the 4 times a day I took one at 6am, 12am, 6pm & 12pm.
For the 3 times a day I took one at 8am, 4pm and 12pm.
I was glad it was only for a week because they didn't work anyway, I had to go on that IV course.Big Grin

So I tried to adjust my meals so the I ate an hour after the 4 times a day tablet.

If you can't feel the benefit after 3 days they probably arent working.

The latest X Factor acts through to Bootcamp revealed

Show 4 of The X Factor produced some stunning talent including Essex boy Ollie and soulful singer Shanna. Find out about the latest acts heading to Bootcamp here.

12 September 2009 20:16 PMComment

This year’s X Factor continues to uncover more talent than ever and just when you think you’ve spotted the potential winner, another act gets put through to Bootcamp who could easily take the crown. How are they going to narrow them down?!

Show 4 was no different with one act getting a second shot at stardom and another auditioning to make life better for her and her family. Tissues at the ready.

First act through tonight was 21 year old Ricky who was a ray of light during the Glasgow auditions, which failed to produce much talent.

Ricky had made it through to Bootcamp last year but just missed out on getting to the judges houses.

Ricky explained that it had been difficult for him to come back saying: β€œIt took a good three, four months to get myself back and decide that singing is want I wanted to do and it’s such a struggle and it’s so hard to bring yourself back to this but I want it that much. I’ve never wanted anything so much.”

And his determination paid off with the judges loving his soulful rendition of Otis Redding’s classic These Arms of Mine. Simon Cowell even said he thought he had made a mistake by sending home last year and added: β€œRicky, you could be Scotland’s highest hope in The X Factor.”

With that Ricky is heading to Bootcamp for the second time, let’s hope he gets one step closer to realising his dream this year.

The auditions moved to London where they unearthed some stunning talent in the shape of 17 year old girl Lydia who blew the judges away with her performance of Whitney Houston classic Saving All My Love For You.

Joining Lydia and Ricky at Bootcamp is another 17 year old, Alistair. His version of Michael Jackson’s The Way You Make Me Feel was a fitting tribute to the late King of Pop.

Girl band The Secrets was the next act to go through and their rendition of Black and Gold had Cheryl saying: β€œKeep doing what you’re doing girls it’s a yes.”

One to watch is definitely Eshlon Thompson who sang Breakeven by The Script. The audience went wild and Louis told him: β€œI think you have more potential than you even think you have.”

Missed the show? Watch it now on the STV Player.

18 year old Shanna Goodhead took to the stage next telling the judges: β€œI just want to win The X Factor.”

Shanna has earlier explained: β€œI live in a council house in London with my mum and 4 sisters, I share a room with two of my sisters and my mum also shares a room with another of my little sisters. My singing will help me escape and give them something better, this could be the most important day of my life, I have to fulfil my dream and help me family.”

Her emotional version of Eva Cassidy’s Songbird has taken her a step towards her goal and Dannii told her: β€œYou first came out and you were nervous, it seemed like you were sad. I can see you want this badly, I want you to know how good you are at singing and how much these people love you.”

Although Simon doubted Shanna’s confidence she is through to Bootcamp where she’ll be given the chance to prove she has what it takes.

Just when you thought you hadn’t seen the token oldie on the show yet, 82 year old William appeared.

Charming and adorable, William sang Fly me to the Moon and although Simon wasn’t keen on his voice, the other judges thought William proved he had The X Factor and therefore he will probably be the oldest person at Bootcamp. Good on you William!

Yellow Brick Road, Elliote and Jayde were also given the magical pass to the next stage of the show but in true X Factor style, they saved the best till last.

25 year old Essex geezer Olly was the final act up and his cheeky charm, confident voice and slick moves had the judges and the audience eating out of the palm of his hand.

Olly sang Stevie Wonder’s Superstitious and whilst Cheryl and Dannii looked on in awe at the handsome singer, Simon said it was the easiest β€˜yes’ to Bootcamp he has ever given.

What a dog’s dinner X Factor has become

Another samey edition of The Cheryl Cole’s Face Show starring lots of deluded idiots who can’t sing and four clichΓ© addicts who seem to think this is endlessly funny.

Week 4 of The X Factor and – despite widespread national apathy – the boring auditions trundle on.

But I liked that dog Jazz who took one look at wallflower host Dermot O’Blandsville …and bit him.

β€œThat’s one unfriendly dog!” cried Dermot. But a good judge of character.

The cameras spent most of the time dwelling on soppy Cheryl’s full range of two facial expressions while virtually ignoring Kylie’s sister. No change there then.

Then the traditional patronise the pensioners slot after some octogenarian murdered Come Fly With Me and ancient Louis Walsh gushed: β€œI hope I look like you when I’m 82.” Next year.

Talking of doddery oldsters, why did BBC2’s allegedly highbrow Newsnight interview Bruce Forsyth and allow him to plug this year’s celebrity-free Strictly Come Dancing? Bruce …you’re gonna lose!

Back to the Factor and Simon Cowell whined: β€œI can’t do this job any more.” Well don’t, then. See if we care.

La Toya Jackson 'about to lose house'
Saturday, September 12 2009, 21:50 BST
By Catriona Wightman

La Toya Jackson is about to lose her home, reports suggest.

The former Celebrity Big Brother contestant owes Β£497,113 in mortgage payments on the property in Las Vegas, WENN claims.

Documents are said to confirm that the property will be auctioned later this month if the outstanding bill is not paid.

However, Jackson's representative told TMZ: "La Toya has an extensive real estate portfolio and her advisers directed her to the business decision to let this particular property go to short sale where it is now.

"The property was also something she got during her divorce from Jack Gordon and she has no attachment to it."

'Fraid so Hicky, it's quite painful at the moment and had to take yet more painkillers, got one more antibiotic to get in before bedtime, trouble is I have to eat an hour after taking them and as I am quite full at the moment, I will have to wait a bit before taking one!!

My hubby calls them horse tablets, because they are these huge, blue tablets and quite difficult to swallow.

No, back to the doc's on Monday it look like, still I have to go anyway, having a chat with the Practice Manager

X FACTOR STAR BLOWS Β£250K
X Factor Star Blows Β£250K

ABOVE: Olly wows the judges on last night's show
13th September 2009 By James Ingham
SINGING sensation Olly Murs blew Β£250,000 in just one hour on Deal Or No Deal.

He became one of the favourites to win the Β£1million X Factor recording contract after singing Stevie Wonder’s classic ΒSuperstition last night.

But what fans didn’t know was Olly once had a shot at bagging Β£250,000 – but left Noel Edmonds’ hit game show with just a tenner.

Olly suffered what Noel said was β€œthe most appalling run of luck in the history of the game” on the Channel 4 show.

He took weeks off work in Bristol as he waited for his chance to have a crack at the top prize.

But Olly, who stunned fans by moonwalking down the show’s β€œWalk Of Wealth” and flirted outrageously with female contestants, ended up in despair.

Olly said: β€œI feel more gutted now than I did then!”

Olly went on the show to win enough cash to pay doctors’ fees to try to discover the cause of a mystery illness suffered by his mum Vicky since 2005.

After rejecting a whopping early offer of Β£22,000 from The Banker, his game went belly up when the five top prizes – Β£250k, Β£75k, Β£35k and Β£100k – came out in four Β successive goes.

His hour of despair ended with him being given just Β£10 by Noel.

Olly said: β€œMy mates were all singing, β€˜Ten pounds, you only won ten pounds’ to me and I got plenty of stick.

β€œI just say to them that I went on TV and they didn’t. I’d love to say I won more but I can’t lie, can I?”

The exposure gave Olly a thirst for fame which he hopes can now be quenched by winning the Β£1million X Factor prize.

He added: β€œI’d love a career in showbiz. I’d love for something to develop now I’ve experienced being in the spotlight.”

The Daily Star Sunday can reveal that Olly even attempted to get on The X Factor the same year as his Deal Or No Deal appearance – in 2007.

But he was left heartbroken at the audition stage when he was told to try again another year.

According to friends, Olly’s previous TV horrors have made him even more determined to succeed this time.
And he’s still hoping to earn cash to help his mum.

One of Olly’s pals said: β€œOlly appeared on Deal Or No Deal two years ago and was gutted to leave with just Β£10. He went on the show hoping to win the Β£250,000 so he could help pay for treatment for his mum, who has been ill for a while now.

β€œAt the time he was thrilled to get on the game show and he really thought it was going to change his life for good.

β€œIn the end he was left wishing he had never even got on. You can’t really miss what you never had but you can miss Β£250,000 when you had a chance of winning it.”

But Essex lad Olly looks set for a change of fortune after stealing last night’s show with his soulful sound.

He got the nod from all four judges with a besotted Dannii Minogue, 37, calling him a β€œsuper, superstar”

Mel B: I’d like to go on The X Factor
Scary Spice wants a chance to be involved with the show
Sunday, 13 September 2009

Ex Spice Girl Mel B is keen to work with Simon Cowell, but only if she can find space in her diary.

β€˜I’d like to go on The X Factor,’ says Mel. β€˜I’m not sure if I’d be able to fit it in right now but it’s something I’d consider.’

The 34-year-old was tipped for a spot on the judging panel when Sharon Osbourne quit the show in 2008.

But the job went to Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole, 26.

Now it's rumoured Mel will help judge Louis Walsh choose his acts for this year’s show.

β€˜I didn’t know that,’ she says. β€˜Perhaps I should ask him.’

Alesha Dixon won Strictly Come Dancing in 2007

Strictly Come Dancing is returning to Blackpool.

β€˜It’s great we’re going back to the home of ballroom. Blackpool will add extra sparkle to this series,’ BBC1 controller Jay Hunt tells The Sun.

The Tower Ballroom was host to Strictly’s predecessor Come Dancing.

Derren Brown - How He Did It

Derren Brown has told how he appeared to predict Wednesday's National Lottery numbers - he combined the random guesses of members of the public.

Brown performed his latest trick during the midweek Lotto draw and sparking numerous theories about how he did it.

In a secret studio location on Wednesday, Brown told viewers he had written his predictions on a line of balls, which he then revealed after watching the draw live on BBC One.

He said "that's a year of my life right there. I can't believe it", as he turned over the balls to reveal they were an exact match for the winning numbers: 2, 11, 23, 28, 35, 39.

Now he has said how he apparently did it, telling viewers that he used "a powerful beautiful secret that can only be achieved when we all put our heads together".

He claimed it was based on the Wisdom of Crowds theory, which tells how a crowd of people at a country fair accurately estimated the weight of an ox when their guesses were all averaged out.

Brown put together a panel of 24 people who wrote down their predictions after studying the last year's worth of numbers.

Then they added up all the guesses for each ball and divided it by 24 to get the average guess.

On the first go they only got one number right, on the second attempt they managed three and on the third they guessed four.

By the time of last week's draw they had honed their technique to get six correct guesses.

Good evening all wavey
Hicky...hope your lad has a good journey home. Hope it is not too quiet in your home for you and OH now he has left. That is good that he is stopping over, it does help a lot with such a long journey.

Good Evening Darloboy and Mollie.wavey

Had a good day really, one of my Lads stayed the night with his 3 little ones, so that was good, went to another Lads this afternoon, played with the little lad, he just likes me to sit and watch him, he drags me back if I walk away for a minute.

Hi Darloboy, I'm an Alesha fan, think she's top class.
It should be interesting to see how she is as a judge, won't it?

Hi Mollie, Don't think my lad will do much in Singapore, he'll probably sleep.

My ankle seems about the same, don't think it swells up as much though.

My lad cut the grass, not sure how many cuts are left, if any?
When do you stop, there must be a way of telling.

We are in the process of booking Holidays at a Villa in Portugal with my Lad and his Partner and 2 kiddies, have booked the flights I think, will have to renew my passport though.
Hope you get sorted tomorrow PinkBabe, you need this ear problem sorted.

Glad you all had a good weekend anyway, an Island of Monks, wow, it's hard to believe really.

Glad you got your big TV back, it's awful without it isn't it?
It must have been a manufacturers fault anyway.

I'm off tomorrow, hope it's as nice as today.

TOP BRANDS GET STARRING ROLES ON OUR TV SHOWS

Shows will soon be free to display branded products on screen
Monday September 14,2009
By Elisa Roche

TELEVISION shows such as The X Factor, Coronation Street and Big Brother will soon be free to display branded products on screen.

Independent broadcasters will be allowed to take payment for displaying commercial products. This could result in characters in soaps using a particular mobile phone brand, soft drink or beauty product.

The change, which is in line with American TV practice, is intended to bring in extra funds for commercial broadcasters. The BBC is excluded on grounds of maintaining broadcasting impartiality.

Experts believe it could raise up to Β£100million a year for ITV and Channel 4 and Five.

Culture Secretary Ben Bradshaw is expected to announce a three-month consultation on the changes in a speech to the Royal Television Society this week.

Welcoming the move, an ITV spokesman described it as β€œreforming UK prohibition”.
He said: β€œNew sources of revenue means better-funded content – which can only be good news for viewers.”

The creator of Big Brother, Peter Bazalgette, said product placement was already widespread and that lifting the ban was β€œhugely overdue”.
He said: β€œProduct placement needs to be done transparently, with credits that make it clear it has taken place.”

But Steven Barnett, professor of communications at the University of Westminster, warned that the viewing public might have trouble distinguishing between what was β€œintegral to the plot” and what had been paid for β€œas some kind of promotional device”.

Glad you had a good day Hicky Smiler, wow a family holiday thats exciting Thumbs Up Big Grin.

Alesha Dixon is a top class singer and dancer, she is such a lovely girl with so much charisma and a bubbly personality also so talented and not big headed either I think she's amazing Smiler. Yes I think she will prove the people wrong who are on a backlash, she will make comments on the performance side and nice for the celebs to see someone who has been through it and know how they are feeling to comment, although she doesn't obviously has the qualifications or background to comment on steps Big Grin.

Hi all

Mollie I went to that Island when we holidayed in Tenby a few years back, it's really interesting isn't and I brought some lovely perfume back!!

I'm feeling a little better today and did a bit more yesterday so maybe the tablets are having an effect, still finding it hard with the six hour taking of the tablets, because I am having to eat 1 hour after and a lot of the time just forcing food down because I have to.

Will let you know how the chat goes tomorrow.

Great idea for SCD to do a live show from Blackpool, Jill Halfpenny and her amazing jive!!
