Is that what you call 'being hosed down' Yogi?

 I think it is.

I have some dandelions growing in the lawn. I bought a weed killer which kills the weeds but not the lawn, and I zapped them with it.

Let me know how you get on with it Yogi, please

I'll let you know if it works.

Last year, our front lawn was so full of weeds and moss that my eldest son scarified it, then we reseeded it. The very wet winter hasn't done it any favours though.

Fankoo

Methinks the lawns are well past their 'sell by date' Yogi. Too may trees and tree roots

Aww. Nature can be amazing but, now and then, it can be a right pain.

Yes indeed but the good bits make up for the bad ones

I have so many worms in my garden. I just turned over a trowel full of soil and there several. When I dig with a spade there are loads

Yea indeed, the good bits are fab!

Worms are good for the soil, Moonie.

When my late brother and I were small, we had a babysitter who lived across the road and she was petrified of worms. Some naughty children used to chase her with worms.

Summer, Vera is set in Northumberland. The series are based on the books by Ann Cleves who also writes the Jimmy Perez books which the BBC has televised as Shetland. The two series have a similar tone, they are good, make good use of the local landscape and well acted. A touch downbeat. Vera Stanhope is played by Brenda Blethyn.

love the perez books  read 3 out of 4  brilliant and like vera - she has grown on me

Good morning I've awoke after a strange dream- I was hiking up Ben Nevis through a series of rooms with ladders on the walls, cupboards full of spare bedding and a school. Then, the town where my mum lives was half way up there!

I've had very busy dreams at the same time of early morning, all week I think it reflects my anticipation for the walk at the weekend

I hope you all slept well and apologies for falling asleep before I could say goodnight properly
~Sparkling Summer~

Good morning everyone, definitely grey here, it doesn't look like the sun is going to put his hat on any time soon   Weird dream Summer, I call that type of dream a struggling dream, you seem to be struggling with something for hours, must have been a relief to wake up.

Now I wish I could say the slope looks wonderful but I can't.  It's all planted up but of course it still looks like a bare slope with 3 cast iron inspection covers down the bottom, now with a few plants dotted about   I think I am an impatient gardener I want to sort of 'light the blue touch paper and stand well back' but it don't work like that does it?  Patience, patience, patience.

Enjoy your day everyone and I hope you get nicer weather than me

squiggle

Squiggle, the fog has lifted here and the weather's OK so I hope it improves for you.

I've been writing to the existing accountants of a new small client to get professional clearance as I'm required to do. I've noticed that there's a glaring mistake in their last accounts and tax calculations which has meant that my client has underpaid tax. I've had to inform my client and have written to the accountants for their comments and what is to be done. It's as bad and elementary mistake as any I have ever seen and the accountants can have no justifiable excuse for not having picked up the mistake themselves.
