I think this gardening thing is a pain in the ar..bum

 It can be, at times.

Still when the flowers begin to bloom, it makes it all worth while

And when I eat the vegetables I've grown.

Evening Summer, have you had a good day?

Never been a veg grower Yogi

I mostly grow tomatoes and peppers in the greenhouse, and onions, lettuces, beetroot etc in the raised bed - and I grew runner beans for the first time last year.

 If only!

I do enjoy it though. At least it gives me something to do, and it gets me out in the fresh air.

Nite nite. Sleep well and have sweet 'cuddles' dreams

I don't mind asparagus but will never forget this. Back in the early 70s when the cost of asparagus was a lot more than it is now, I was at an office dinner at a hotel on the outskirts of Cheltenham. A man sat down at a table by himself. I think he was probably the hotel owner. A few minutes later a large platter was placed in front of him. The lid was removed from the platter and there was a huge pile of buttered asparagus which he then consumed with his hands. He then left the room. That's gluttony and rather like something out of a film about Henry VIII.

El Loro

Good morning everyone, I think we had quite a lot of rain overnight and it's still a constant drizzle but suddenly the garden is bursting into life, and the trees on the opposite hillside too, nearly all in full leaf now.  I love this time of year when everything suddenly bursts into colour.  I liked that weed, in my view it's not a weed it's a wild flower and I love wild flowers.  I have wild primroses, tiny little orchids that grow in the grass on the top lawn, cowslips, wild violets, periwinkle, wild bluebells and lots of others.  Plus canterbury bells which tumble down the steps near the pond, gorgeous.

Who knows what else might fall into your trolley today Yogi, remember we are all partial to cake

Quite right Summer, thinking of an absent friend

Enjoy your day everyone

squiggle

Squiggle, that's a very convincing look-alike

I rate the opening 4 minute scene of Up as one of the most moving scenes in any film, and shows that films can may quite an impact without any spoken dialogue. I know the rest of Up has dialogue but that opening scene is a genuine silent classic, up there with Sunrise (1927) and The Artist (2011).

Squiggle, I agree that the weed/wildflower is really pretty.

The wildflowers in your garden sound beautiful. I have bluebell and periwinkle envy.

I have caramel tarts and pineapple cakes, if anyone wants one?
