Only one person has died with Omicron…..with….could mean it wasn’t the cause of death….we don’t know the age, vaccination status or whether he had an underlying condition…….the government and the prophets of doom want to scare people into getting their jabs ….and it looks like it’s being successful.

personally ,I have been cautious when out and about and being triple jabbed hasn’t made me suddenly decide to do things I haven’t been doing all along……

Unfortunately a lot of people are under the illusion that 3 jabs makes you invincible!!!!!!

Normally I’d agree , but I don’t see why they would want to fiddle them though Kaytee …..they aren’t government stats , they are scientific ones I think . I hope you are right about them over egging things , but my gut tells me things are going to get very bad , very quickly  this time .

I think they take positive tests…..but it could easily be contacts of positive tests before they take the PCR test which is more accurate…..there’s a cloudy area somewhere in the middle❤️

I think they’ve been warned that it’s 70% effective. …..if they choose to ignore that then they’re stark raving barmy

If there was a conspiracy then every nurse, health care worker, doctor, pharmaceutical employee and eminent professor of medicine would have to be in on it for the rest of their lives

Sorry Saint, but the medics and scientists don’t agree on anything….depends which one you choose to believe.

that’s entirely up to you but we aren’t being given a balanced view….I want to hear from both sides of the argument debate the issue….we might get somewhere then

The London Mayor  has apparently declared a major incident because of the soaring cases of Omicron in the city  .

Today there is up to 60,000 fans in Tottenham’s stadium for a football match. Unbelievable

The mayor is a useless piece of work and jumps on every passing bandwagon…..he wants money  because he’s made a mess of things and thinks coming out of the woodwork for the first time in months will get him both the cash and brownie points….cannot stand the man

Apparently the FA wouldn’t let them cancel…..but I think such huge gatherings should be stopped….or played behind closed doors if they have to take place

Yes, I think they should be held without spectators again….it’s the least they should do imo

The FA are meeting tomorrow to possibly have a two week circuit breaker…

Sounds sensible to me Moonie ….especially as loads of the clubs have had to cancel because of covid anyway ….

It's just ludicrous, does he really expect people to believe that? With his wife there and wine! Have any of us (or anyone we know) been at a business meeting Where there was wine - or any other type of alcohol? Tea, coffee or water perhaps, but not alcohol.

Takes some believing , eh

Baz

If it was an official meeting, they would be breaking the Official Secrets Act, Carrie was in attendance....I have never had a job where I could go outside for a meeting and drink at work, for the last 15 years of my working life I worked for the government!

Lockdown before or after Christmas do you think?

I have no idea Slim and neither does he. He'll probably wait until hospital staff and emergency services are so short of staff through self-isolating. I'm sure he will be asking advice from Wilfred or Dylan the dog, they appear to be going to work meetings with Carrie.

Is it time to confess that my street had a business meeting outdoors on VE Day, with snacks and wine but it was a business meeting to discuss neighbourhood watch🤥🤫

Over 106,000 cases reported today …..and hospital admissions in London have also gone up exponentially

The big London hospitals have said that 90% of cases  are unvaccinated ……and they have Delta not the Omigod virus……consultants on intensive care …..not the bureaucracy

As most of Europe is moving to increase restrictions , we , the country with the most cases , decide to decrease the isolation period ….go figure!

Decreasing it came from the scientists…Sage, if you believe them, said that isolation infection usually lasts 5 days from first catching it….so if you get a negative test on days 6 and 7…..you wouldn’t have a strong enough strength in the virus to pass it on…..

I'm starting to think Governments are expecting us to treat Covid like Influenza - you will get it and it will bump off many throughout the year, most will be the elderly (so that doesn't matter). Learn to live with it.

Now carry on

That, I think, was the initial approach, but the impact was too great and so the government had to be seen to be seen to be doing 'something' to lessen the impact, especially when it became a global pandemic rather than a localised epidemic.
