Evening Mollie.

Just had a couple of crumpets with a Kiwi as well, i never stop eating at night.

The links are for Portugal, all Europe, Greece, Barbados and Jamaica.

I was planning which veg to go where, between the raised beds and the big tubs.

I've got quite a few series to watch now on recordings, it's getting time to watch them though.

My old passport was returned today, popped through the letterbox as if it was a bill, i always keep them, not sure if you are supposed to or not, not sure why they even send them back, what for?

I saw some the Hunted, was that with Boris's dad and that girl? and he gave her his card to buy something, pretty stupid, was that the celeb one, or is that a different show.

Didn't know C4 had a dissagreement with Humax, wow, not good for you though.

Hope they don't have a row with BT.

Have a good evening.

Hicky

Evening Everyone.

11c today, light rain showers and cloud and sun, never saw any rain though, a moderate breeze.

Had cheese on toast for brekkie with a bowl of tinned toms, to use them up.

For tea had a beef Rendang, made a rice cake, there was too much so have frozen what was left.

Spent a bit of time in the summerhouse with the weak sun streaming through, it was hard to stay awake.

Have planned all the veg positions now for the raised beds and the veg tubs, got 13 tubs, mind you 2 have gto fruit trees in, have got another t big tubs but they are all occupied.

Finding it very hard to sort a holiday place and also hard to get direct flights with business class as a direct flight which isn't too far from UK or Oz, the plan at the mo is probably for august 2021, maybe.

Have a good evening.

Hicky

Baz

hope you and Sammy had a good day. Did you go out, or do a Sammy and stay in and chill out?

Hicky

you certainly need a lot of planning with all the veg etc you want to grow. But I know you have certainly mastered the art of it now.

Sounds lovely in your summer house to relax in the winter sun (when we get it).

Yes Hunted was the one with Boris's dad, but that was the celeb one and I didn't liek that one. This one was much better I thought. On this one, the ex army guy of age 78 was fascinating. Looks like he is likely to outwit them one way or another.

Yes I still have my old passport, but can't see the point really other than a keepsake. Although I have seen for when some places that want ID, they will accept  an out of date passport for ID.

Yes it must be hard deciding where is best for both you and your son and family to meet up for a holiday. I have heard of some meeting up in Los Angeles as that is roughly midway, but not sure if they do direct flights from Oz, or even if it is a place you can unwind in.

Been pouring all afternoon today, and we have heavy rain with strong winds, so  another weather warning for this weekend.

Went to Sainsburys, got a bit of food shopping, and helped daughter move her stuff out of neighbour's house and tidy up, then we did a hand over to tell neighbour about the dog's special needs now., when they got home. Daughter wrote it all down, so hopefully neighbour will remember what to do to prevent his health going backwards and we told her the dental work had been booked, and daughter said she'd go with her to vets to help. Daughter will miss doggie tongiht, as she spent so much time looking after him, he even slept all night at the bottom of her bed.

I thought they advertised Gogglebox as starting again, but couldn't find it!

So watched  a coast show about Angelsey, as OH came from an area close by.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Wasn't impressed with the Hunted, got too many recording to bother with that.

Never heard of using an old passport for ID, for one it wouldn't be carried around anyway.

Tried again looking for places to holiday, bad enough trying to find non stop flights, was looking at LA as well.

Yes, your daughter will miss the doggy now, hope the owners look after it ok.

That will be nice for doggy if your daughter goes with them to the vets.

Have a good evening and sleep, the storms are back, oh dear, bad till Monday evening.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky   Weather isn’t too bad here at the moment ...just very wet...and a bit windy ....but nowhere near as bad as last  weekend  ! I’ve not been out , but I changed the bed, and done some washing and ironing . Now I’m firmly fixed to the sofa catching up with some tv Hope you are both managing to stay dry and warm

Mollie , Gogglebox starts next week I watched last years Hunted , but it clashes with something else this year , so haven’t seen it . I hope your neighbour follows all the instructions so her doggie doesn’t regress Hicky , I don’t drive so I have always used my passport for ID , even though it is now out of date ....the only other thing I gave is my OAP bus pass But hope you find some flights soon

Tonight I will be watching the Portillo documentary on BBC2 ...then I think I’m going to be watching Yesterday from 9-11.....a programme about the history of Scotland Yard ...then one about Fountainbleu Hope you have a good evening , whatever you are watching . Stay safe

Baz

Evening Baz.

13c today, heavy rain showers with a strong breeze, i call over 40 to 53 mph a gale.

Had fried eggs on toast for brekkie.

Spent a bit of time in the summerhouse, i have moved my trail camera inside looking out, bought a power supply to save using batteries all the time.

I have a dash cam in the greenhouse looking out as well, that one is also powered, of course i have a dashcam in the front room covering the garden area, well i have 2 really as the rear cam is looking out of the side window in the room, the car has front and rear camera's as well.

For tea i made a big salad and had 3 types of fish, Salmon, Kingfish cutlet, and a Barramundi fillet.

Some good shows tonight anyway.

You are even busy when you should be resting, i see what you mean about using the passport as ID.

There's no hurry over flight as they are for 2021 we are just looking what is possible, but direct flights difficult, and i want business class, we could go flights only but the destination must be warm, have a big pool, with sun loungers and all inclusive if possible.

Have a good evening.

The storm is upon us.

RIP Caroline Flack, found dead at home.

I too am like you  and am firmly fixed to the sofa for awhile now.   Don't blame you staying in today. Wet here today and the wind is just starting.

I was so disapointed that I got the wrong week for Gogglebox, just saw the advert and thought it was this week, never mind, at least it is on next Friday.

Your viewing tonight sounds interesting. I am with all the singing shows tonight , No surprise really as we live in Wales and they are singing mad here,  plus I have a singing/acting son and the other one is a guitar player.  I love the masked singer, spend ages trying to work out who they are, and what fantastic costumes.  Wow , just as I finsihed typing that above, Katherin Jenkins was unmasked as the octopus, so that was someone local in the final.

Hicky

at least your power supply will stop you having to replace batties all the time.

That sounds a good varied salad.

Yes at least you have plenty of time to plan the holiday, lots of things to consider with each party travelling from opposite sides of the world.

Went to Costco this morning, early as there was a football match so we like to get away before it gets packed. Had lots of free food samples, so can't complain, then my usual jacket potato with coleslaw and cheese this time.

Daughter and I spent a lot of time with our neighbour and I am pleased to say, she took in all daughter told her the vet said the dog needed. She has made a vets appointment, as vet requested and daughter is going with her for that. So I am relieved about that.

Have a good evening both, enjoy your tv shows.

Goodnight xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

The power supply i bought is a universal one with many voltage settings and plugs for the end to plug in the camera etc, but i forgot to plug it in today.

I think we will have to put the planning of flights and reservations for resort or hotel in the hands of an agent, it's just to hard to follow the crazy pages online.

Don't blame you for going early to Costco you don't want to get caught in football traffic.

I think they start getting your jacket potato with coleslaw and cheese ready when they see you go in the shop.

Glad your neighbour is following instructions for doggy care, best way.

Enjoyed the masked singer and the voice.

The Love Island saturday show was cancelled because of the death of Caroline.

Have a good evening and sleep.

The storm will be even worse tomorrow, oh dear.

Hicky

Evening Both.

8c today, sunny intervals with strong winds.

We have escaped the worst of the rain and gales so far.

Just had 2 crumpets for brekkie as o/h was cooking a pork joint, thought she was making a dinner, wrong, just cooking the joint so i got some salad spuds from the garage and carrots from the fridge, made some more gravy to add to the stuff she left after making her dinner.

She had made apple sauce from 2 of the 3 Bramleys in the fridge, been there since christmas and are perfect still.

My lad gave us a video call from Oz, he has been looking at holidays in Phuket, wow what a fantastic place, the link to the resort is https://www.katathani.com

The resort seems massive the rooms, restaurants etc is unbelievable.

We would travel business class and the accommodation has various room styles with linking doors, we have had that before and it was fine, we also had one big apartment with us all in.

Spent some time in the summerhouse as the sun was very nice today.

Enjoyed the singing last night and we have ice dancing tonight.

Hope you are ok after all those floods and land slides Mollie.

Have a good evening.

Hicky

both xxx

Baz

hope you have had a good day today. What are you watching tonight? Dancing on Ice, I guess. I am watching the Inspector Morse one after it tonight.

Hicky

Glad you got a nice call from your lad again today. The Phuket resort looks lovely and has good reviews on Trip Advsior. Yes I guess it would help to visit a travel agent if it is complicated to sort, as they don't charge you extra for their services.

That's good you got a bit of time in the sun so could sit in the summerhouse.

Rain and wind here with sun only for about half an hour. Not far from here the valleys are in such a mess. Real bad floods, a whole high street of shops flooded and houses too. We are lucky we are not by the river, so were ok. All those poor people losing so much in their homes/shops in these 2 big storms, just terribe. Let's hope it dries up soon.

People had to be rescued by boats... and here's a photo of an old dog being rescued too, ...what a great job our recue services do for us..

Image

Yes very sad about Caroline Flack.

Back to tv now, Inspector Morse mystery for me now.

I can hear the wind whistling and pouring rain yet again!

Have a good evening both .

xxxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Yes, that holiday resort looks fantastic, my lad is pretty good at sorting out planes and holidays though, the weather there is pretty windy in August and wet from September.

Its lovely to be able to sit in the summerhouse, it gets me out of the house, i get restless sitting watching tv or being on the computer.

Going to ring the gardener tomorrow, mind you he could be busy now after being away, going to try and get him to get me some compost for the buckets this year and some compost for the seeds in the trays etc.

You are lucky then, being either away from the river or on higher land, i saw some roads that looked like rivers and mud slides, dreadful.

Yes the whole high street shops etc, and people being rescued in boats, and even animals and the dog in your picture.

Love island cancelled tonight with Caroline dying, such a tragedy, the prosecution service will be blamed for not dropping the case when they should have.

Its Ibiza weekends then for me at 9pm then.

Enjoyed DOI, don't understand the voting, they drop poins from 1 couple for not using the prop enough then drop them for another couple because they used it too much, then they didn't give one a 10 because he didn't smile enough, then they keep a couple in who can hardly skate, don't get it, why are they giving them props, what has that got to do with dancing, its all done to get viewers, they only care about the advert breaks to make money, it's a joke.

Have a good evening and stay safe.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Sunshine and showers here today . I’ve changed the bed , and had my last counselling session.....not sure how I feel about that , but it couldn’t go on forever , so, I will deal .Hope you’re both having a good day .....and that  you both survived the storms in one piece . My back garden is flooded in places ....I am on heavy clay soil.....but apart from that no damage .

Mollie, glad you weren’t flooded , but it looked terrible in places down there . Those poor people whose houses were flooded not once , but twice I agree our rescue services do a fantastic job Hicky , that holiday sounds amazing I agree about the scoring on DOI....it’s completely haywire this series ....as for the adverts ...don’t get me started on that

Not sure what I’m watching tonight ....but Masterchef starts next week , so.....Take care and have a good evening

Baz

Evening Baz. :

8c here today, sunny intervals and a strong wind again.

Not too bad really, had some time in the summerhouse, got some toast and crumpets for brekkie.

For tea i started to look through my many meals i made and put in the freezer, picked out the Stuffed Peppers, defrosted a bit in the microwave and put in the oven at 150c for 55 minutes, that was fine, checked the temperature when i took it out and it went over70c so that was fine.

I'm sure you could get a follow-on of the counselling, why not, you just have to ask the right people.

we haven't had that much rain, don't think so anyway.

I was looking at flights from Manchester to Phuket, need 1 stop, the price for a 3 week return for 2 business class is just under ÂĢ5,000 depending who you fly with.

Watched my recording of the events surrounding the feller who died at the Barrowmore house, 8 people there but none would say what happened, but i think one day the truth will emerge, it seemed like everyone had been sworn to silence, mind you the police made a mess of the crime scene, very strange the whole thing.

Yes, the doi voting, omg, how on earth did Jane and Chris vote Maura out, i am blazing.

Have a good night.

Hicky

both

Baz

well done getting through all your counselling sessions. I hope you feel you gained from them. If  you feel too unsure about them ending now, can you request some additional ones?

Hope the flood in your garden didn't affect your plants or bulbs.

Hicky

Yes now you don't get round so well, I think the summerhouse was a great idea to feel like you can enjoy being outside the house.

Did you manage to get hold of the gardener?

I know what you mean about DOI, it does seem to of got too gimicky lately, with all these props. I used to simply enjoy the skating whilst listening to the music, but now it sounds a bit tacky the way they have this (canned?) cheery and loud applause constantly over the music.

The big clean up from all that flooding starts for those poor people now. What a mess it all is. Let's hope the storms keep away now.

Going to watch Corrie then Cold Feet, as it ends tonight.

Daughter and I looked after dog this morning whilst neighbour went to hospital with hubby. Then we went with her to the vets with her dog. Vet is going to give her dog a couple of weeks to check he is well before sorting his teeth out, as he has to be fully well to go under a general anaesthetic.

Son working in theatre for 12 hours today, ready for a performance the end of the week. Good job he enjoys it.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

I rang the gardener, it rang out then went to voicemail, but it said he was on a cruise till the 10th, what, when i rang a while back it didn't ring it went straight to to voice mail saying he was on a cruise till the 14th, but when he is working or away from his phone it always goes to voicemail.

Yes, DOI is spoilt with the film week disney week prop week, it's only done to keep it interesting, they certainly don't care about the dancers.

Yes an awful mess left behind for so many after the storms, dreadful.

Yes, the dog need to be well, also not to have any infection, putting any animal to sleep is always a risk, well waking them up is the problem.

Yes 12 hours is a long day for your lad, you certainly need to enjoy it.

Have a good evening/sleep.

Hicky

Evening Both.

8c today, rain or cloud or sun all day strong winds as well.

Hope the weather is being kind to you.

For brekkie had toms with bacon and eggs with toast.

the gardener rang, he is back, busy with a workmate doing some job, usually either pasths or flagging etc.

But he is going to get me some compost and come and see me, not sure when.

Had a couple of rests in the summerhouse as the sun was out, midday made a cheese and tomato ketchum sandwich.

For tea decided to amke a beef and onion with chip shop curry i made, quite nice.

Got the boiler man in the morning to service the boiler, in fact the water pressure was pretty low the other week and the boiler will turn off if the pressure gets too low, i looked on the web for instructs to top the water up and found out how using the key supplied, managed to get some in for now.

My boxes of Seven sees Jointcare Supplex should be delivered today, a bit late now, it was out for delivery at 10am today, not looking good.

Oh, just been delivered.

No wonder the county has so many millions of illegals and drugs in the country, they watch the airlines very close, but the wagons coming off ships etc just get a probe in them looking for people only but they don't stop all the wagons, just a few, i don't get it, we have so many drugs in the country, they can be delivered faster than a takeaway and the deals give out business cards now.

And watching them at the border crossing from planes, they were checking the bags of a Chine lady, she didn't speak any English at all, so they got another person to translate, just a tourist, when he had gone the woman became sick looking so the agent was saying are you all right, do you want to sit down, can i get you a drink of water, now, it sounded good, but it was to a person who hadn't a clue what she was saying.

Have a good evening.

Hicky

both xxx

Baz

hope you and Sammy have had a good day. Did you go out?

Hicky

I can see your gardener is hard to get hold of, due to being busy on jobs or on his cruises. Hope you can get him soon.

Have you been in your summerhouse today?

Neighbour had to pop out again this morning to shops, so I sat with the dog a couple of hours. (vet said not to get him stressed so he can't be left alone0.

Then went to Sainsburys to get a bit of food shopping.

Dry most of the day, thank goodness, but poured later on. I so hope the rain goes soon to help those places by the rivers that are flooded.

Am watching Dogs Behaving Badly, then A and E tonight. Recording Love Island.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Hi Hicky

you posted the same time as me again.

that's good you heard back from your busy gardener. At least he can sort you out soon.

Do you have to pay for the boiler man to service the boiler, or do you have one of those special contracts that include the boiler service?

Like you just got with your Severn Seas, I often get deliveries in the evening, even when it shows they were out for delivery in the mornings.

Yes we certainly have a problems with drugs in the UK, that sadly seems to be getting worse and worse.

I am now at the C5 Dogs Behaving Badly, this naughty bulldog loves food so much, he nicks it off anyone. So the trainer is using a plate of sausages to train him.

Time for a bit of a treat for me... I bought a block of Cadbury Tiffin, yummy...milk choc with raisins and biccies in it.

Have a good evening Hicky. xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Yes. we posted again so you didn't see my last post, by what you were saying.

So i'll reply to your second post.

We pay for the boiler service as one of my lads installed it.

Yes, they have so mmany deliveries, the driver said he can deliver till 10pm, he said the main probelm is trying to get to the address.

I get the mini maltesers and the mini cadbury choc bar packs

Was chatting on text and whatsapp with a couple of my lads, the one with the hip op, he sent me some pictures, one was the scar with about 22 staples, omg, it was awful, i never had any of those, he has had the staples out now and the pain is easing, he's just trying to get the movement back.

My other lad was talking about how my eyes are and that.

I like raisins in chocolate but not so keen on them having biscuit in, unless its a biscuit with chocolate on which is different.

Have a good evening/sleep.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Hope everyone is having a good day . It’s poured down all day here...again  ....I feel so sorry for those poor people who have been flooded....it’s heartbreaking   Despite the weather , I did manage to get into town to the post office ....and picked up a couple of bits and pieces . My daughter is hopefully coming over on Saturday , so I will be able to replenish my M&S food stocks Until then I’m waiting for my weekly Sainsbury delivery , and trying to stay warm and dry !

Mollie , I love chocolate , but like Hicky , I tend to buy the small bars otherwise I’d make myself sick , cos I’ve got no willpower I have one of those boiler contracts and it’s more that paid for itself over the years . By the way , don’t forget it’s Pottery tonight Hicky those staples etc sound horrendous But it seems like he is gradually improving By the way , I’m glad Maura  went .

Anyway , have a lovely evening both

Baz

Evening Baz.

8c with rain and a fresh breeze.

The boiler man was here at 09.15, it went ok, it seems i was putting the tap thingy into the boiler the wrong way, but it was the way i could see on the video, he said we can buy an adapter which means i can add water if needed by just pulling a lever, it ÂĢ30, he said if it's fitted during a service they don't charge to fit it, we also need a new seal for something, but it can all be done on the next service.

Went to the farm shop, got some nice fruit and veg, and some bacon ribs, just had some, delish, also a couple of pork steaks.

Had a steak pie and a pork pir from the butchers for brunch for tea had chicken soup and 1 small pack of the bacon ribs.

Have ordered 2 more boxes of salted peanuts from Sun Valley, each holds 24 x 50g packs, nice.

It will be good to get to M&S for some shopping, we used to get Sainsbury's delivery when o/h had her knee op as we couldn't get it ourselves.

I get the mini choc bars as i have 1 a day, if it was bigger i would still have one a day, with the peanuts i only have half a pack a day, but not every day, if i can resist.

The picture my lad sent of the staples in his leg horrified me, maybe with him going private, they should be gold.

I was sorry to see Maura go, she was so funny.

Have a good evening, hope you and Sammy are well.

Time for a Kiwi and a banana with a toasted hot x bun. Nom Nom.

Hicky

both xxx

Baz

you did well venturing out in the bad weather to do a bit of shopping. An outing to M and S on Saturday to get a few treats will be something for you to look forward to.

It is naughty of the manufacturers how they only make some of the choc bars in big ones. (like the Tiffin) as it does take self control to not overeat.

Oh flip, I got interrupted last night, so forgot to post here and so didn't see your pottery reminder. I think it is repeated though, so hopefully I am not too late to find it.

DOI...Out of the 2, I was glad Myra went too.

Hicky

your poor lad's staples sound horrid, no wonder he was in so much pain. How odd you also had a hip op, but it was competely different. Wonder why your lad had to have such a big incision?

Glad the boiler man came and it can be sorted.

I too love salted peanuts. And at least they are good for you with the protein and fibre.

Busy today, going to see son in theatre, and meeting friends (mum's ex carers) for lunch first. So time to do my hair and make up now and decide what to wear.

Its pouring down again, never mind, at least its dry in the cafe and theatre.

Have a good day both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

11c today with rain on and off, a strong wind, had a big hailstone storm mid afternoon.

The gardener rang at 10am, i was still in bed, he said it was too wet to work so he could get me some compost, he checked what i wanted.

I got up, sorted the blinds out, got my meds, emptied the dishwasher and waited for the gardener, he arrived ok with 3 x 40L bags of good compost and a bag of deed compost, i showed him my plans for moving some tubs around when he has time.

For tea had Nacho's, made a tray full, too many really, but finished off the bag of Tortilla chips, love the grated cheese you get from sainsbury's it saves such a lot of hard work.

I can't imagine why you would put in so many massive staples for a hip op as i'm sure there is no pressure on the hip op opening, unlike a knee op which has an awful lot of pressure on the cut.

That will be nice going to see your son in the theatre and having lunch with your mums ex carers.

Hope you didn't get wet today, have a good evening.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Weather is still lousy ....but I’ve spent a lovely afternoon  with a new friend . We are from the same area *darnn soff* . She has not long moved up here , and is finding it a bit hard to settle , so asked if we could meet up . I said of course and it’s like we’ve known each other for ages . I have laughed more than I have in a very long time Hope everyone else is also having a good day

Mollie , hope you had a lovely time at the theatre ....don’t forget Gogglebox starts tonight Hicky , I wish the rain would stop here too , cos my lawns are starting to sprout , but the ground is far to wet for gardener to cut it ....and I want to get out and do some weeding !

Anyway , have a good evening both ....I’m just about to tuck into a cream slice ....perfect end to a perfect afternoon

Baz

Evening Baz.

10c today with rain on and off and strong wings, gales top me.

Didn't have brekkie this morning as i had to be at the eye clinic for 10.30, o'h was working so i got the taxi, it was just and eye letter reading test and the usual eye pictures, left eye still a problem but sure it's better than it was.

O/H picked me up when all was finidhed, then i made beens and bacon/sausage on toast for brunch.

Didn't do much this afternoon because the eye drops mean i can't see very well

For tea i got a prawn chip shop curry from the freezer and made a rice cake to have with it, very nice, had some Mango Pickle with it, wow, love pickle, o/h got me a couple of jars at christmas and a feller where she works makes pickle etc and gives her a couple of jars for me to try.

That was nice, to have a meet up and a good laugh is very good for you.

Never liked lawns, they are ok in some countries but here, no, i can walk on my blue slate any time any day, my neighbour has a lawn but she can't really go on it as it's like a sponge most of the year, we have clay under the whole area, but i don't see the point of grass anyway.

I get a few weeds but of course the whole of the garden had weed matting which i put down when we moved in and got the JCB to level the place and flatten the whole area, the matting goes from end to end asnd side to side, the few weeds that blow in of are dropped by birds just get picked out as there is no spoil and they can't get through the matting so they are sitting amongst the slate but have nothing to hold on to.

Just had a hot x bun with butter and jam, yummy.

I love cream slices, yummy.

Have a good evening.

Hicky

Evening Everyone.

10c today, light rain showers some of the time with strong winds most of the time.

Didn't have a brekkie, made ham salad sandwiches for brunch.

Spent some time outside in the summerhouse, not nice with gales blowing and the whole lot creaking so decided to put some carrot pieces and salad spuds in the spud peeler, then took some pieces of the cauliflower and put them on the hom to cook, also put a cut up pack of bacon ribs on to boil, when all done, sliced the spuds and carrots, took the bacon off the bones, put them all in a big frying pan and made a pot of chicken gravy.

It was very nice, had some over will have that for brekkie tomorrow.

Had a couple of Kiwi and will have a hot cross bun soon, with butter and strawberry jam, Nom Nom.

One of my Lads was swimming today in Blackpool, in the 100 free he got Gold in the 40 to 44 yr category, not bad as he has Arthritis and bad knees he did 58.69 seconds.

Will record a couple of programs today as we have The greatest Dancer, Ant & Dec, The Voice, Love Island unseen bits.

Have a good evening whatever you are doing/watching.

Hicky

how nice you met up with a new friend and got on so well. Especially nice for her if she is new to the area and now had you to speak to and have a laugh with.

Hope it does stop raining soon, so you can sort the garden out. A bit of winter sun is what we need now.

Gogglebox was just brilliant though, wasn't it. Great to see the old faves back again.

Now you say....cream slice, I of course fancy one too.

Hicky

that's good the gardener sorted your compost out for you. Shame the weather was not nice enough for you to enjoy the summerhouse. The daffs are coming out now, so a reminder spring is on the way though.

Glad to hear the eye seems a bit better than it was. Let's hope it continues to improve.

Well done to your lad winning those medals, he must be an excellent swimmer.

Hope your lad who had the op is feeling a bit better now.

My friends all enjoyed son's play, and we had lovely lunch, of paninis and salad and coffee and cake after.

I went with daughter to see son's play yesterday afternoon again,  (me and OH went in evening), as neighbour wanted daughter to sit with dog whilst they went to a party in the evening. Usually they get home aprox 10pm, but daughter rang me 11pm to say they still weren't home, and she wanted to come home, but didn't want to leave the dog. Daughter had been there since 6.30pm, and they didn't even leave her anything to eat or text to say they would be late. They got home about 11.15!

OH, son and I stayed in seafront hotel overnight last night.  Its off season, so we got a good discount on rooms, so no driving for OH and we could share a bottle of wine. (no driving for son either after he left his end of show party).
Son did well, as it was quite an important central part.
He's back to rehearsing tomorrow, this time for a show in April.
My arthritis giving me jip now after 2 busy days. The good news is that our doggie was fine with other son looking after her overnight (I always worry as she often wont' eat when I'm not here and ends up sick).
Tv time.  Shame Masked Singer has ended as I'm not so keen on Ant/Dec now, but at least the Voice is on.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

I'm still thinking of ways to get the watering soaker hose to water the tubs, the buds are breaking on the pear tree.

I've got the compost now so thats sorted with the gardener getting it for me, the first onion sets should be here in a couple of weeks, they say 14 March + or _ 14 days., the big onion plants don't arrive till May.

Glad you all enjoyed sons play, the Lunch etc sounds nice also.

I think the neighbours dog is becoming a bit of a pain, but it would be hard to get out of it now, i think they are taing advantage of your daughter now.

That was nice staying in the seaside hotel, makes a change, and no driving involved.

Bad news about your Arthritis playing up, but it easy started oof, it doesn't like you to enjoy yourself.

I don't understand why a dog wouldn't eat if you weren't there.

Yes, the weekend shows are getting less and less, what new ones are due to start, if any, darts start 6th March,

Have a good evening/sleep.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky I've just got back from my spa hour ...lovely facial , plus had and arm massage ....and I’m just waiting for my lunch to finish cooking ...salmon... so right now I’m feeling no pain Oh , and the sun is shining ...beautiful blue skies at the moment I hope you are both  having a good Sunday too

Mollie , sorry about your arthritis , but glad your sons play went well I tend to agree with Hicky re the dog thing . Yes , I thoroughly enjoyed Gogglebox ....Jenny and Lee crack me up Hicky, well done to your son getting a gold Spring must be around the corner cos loads of my bulbs are up ....and the mini early daffs ...whose name escapes  me ....are looking lovely . DOI tonight ....and I’m hoping that the girl from Corrie goes ....I think she is probably my least favourite ....although I think the young girl who got saved last week will probably be in the dance off again .

Anyway , I hope you both enjoy your evening . Take care

Baz

Evening Baz.

A windy 8c today with sunny intervals with a fresh breeze.

For brekkie i had the left over veg from last night, fried up with chopped up smoked bacon, fried some sliced mushrooms and then added a fried egg, pretty tasty really.

For tea had a fried pork steak with a salad i made up, nice really.

Spent some time in the summer house, it needs some repair work on the windows, but not with these winds, have ordered some tubes of Silicone sealer to go around the windows to stop the window sheets being blown which is scary.

Well, Spa, facial, massage, not bad, no pain and a salmon tea, can't beat that.

O/H has a lot of her bulbs through and some in flower all ready, amazing how certain flowers ignore the weather.

I've no idea why that Libby was saved last week, unless it was a sympathy vote because she can't see, no idea, but it shows the voting is fake, when the 4 judges are divided in half something stinks.

Just watching DOI now.

Have a good evening.

thats good you went for a relaxing spa, and what a nice change to get a bit of sunshine too.

Yes  Jenny and Lea are hilarous on Gogglebox, and they certainly didn't fail to impress this week.

I have found the pottery show is repeated tonight, so I can catch up on it now.

Your garden sounds delightful with its signs of spring up and coming.

Hicky

hope you can work out your watering system ok. Nice to see the buds and bulbs appearing with spring in the air. We have some bushes with little yellow flowers out in our back now.

At least you have the darts to watch if we don't get any more good new weekend shows.

Let's hope these strong winds stop soon so you can sort your summerhouse out. It was incredibly strong when we were were down the seafront the last 2 days, that we could hardly stand up.

Am watching DOI now and I think Libby danced well this week, but have the rest to watch yet to see how they do.

Today, surprise, surprise, daughter and I looked after dog from 10am till 1pm whilst neighbour went to church, (she likes to chat).

I only stayed till 10.30 as I wanted to go to Costco, where I enjoyed my usual jacket potato lunch and a few free food samples. We bought a pack of their fruit scones with clotted cream to go with them. So yummy.

Rained all morning, but cleared and we too got a bit of sun this afternoon, not for long though before it clouded over.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Have just ordered a watch, don't need one but this is controlled by signals transmitted in the UK, it is accurate to 1 second in 138m years, it also speaks the time or day and date at the touch of a button.

Formular 1 starts 15th March as well, something to look forward to.

Never known these gales to last so long, it's just annoying to work in.

Libby danced well tonight but the once she was againsted in the dance off wasn't very good anyway.

I'm rather parcial to those fruit scones, so yummy, don't blame you getting away to Costco for your usual meal, can't miss that.

I was expecting to have both of the pork steaks i got from the butcher but they were too thick so i just fried one, and pork cooks pretty quick, i still have a Bramley from Christmas and forgot to make some apple sauce so will have the other steak tomorrow and make the sauce.

It was lovely and sunny today but the wind spoils it.

Just watching the final now, Jess 4th.

Have a lovely evening and a good sleep.

Hicky

Evening Everyone.

12c today, rain till 1pm strong winds again.

Had Spaghetti on toast for brekkie, had to drain some of the sauce off as it would have flooded the plate, wonder why so much sauce.

I was in the summerhouse a couple of times, a lot of wind getting in though so defo need to refit some of the panes of Acrylic sheet.

For tea decided on having the other pork steak, marinated it with some chilli sauce, put some salad spuds and chunks of carrot into the potato peeling machine, no problem, then sliced the spuds and carrots and boiled them, put some cauliflower in the top to steam.

Made some chicken gravy, fried the steak and put all the veg in the pan as well, it made a nice meal.

Had 6 pancakes for afters as o/h brought me 2 packs in, the premade ones, very nice too.

Have a good evening All.

Baz

hope you are having a good day today. Been out or stayed in the warm?

Hicky

your new watch sounds a clever one.

Yes these gales seem to be endless this winter, we also seem to have pouring rain most days to go with it. Daughter was due to go to Cardiff on train to meet a friend today but no trains as the tracks were flooded, so they had replacement buses all day.

Very odd how the sphagetti comes with so much sauce. I too tip it out.

Your tea sounded nice. Son made mash, carrots, peas and some yorkshire puds, so I have a nice Sainsbury pie of goats cheese, squash and onion with it.And a Costco scone for afters.

Oh yes, its pancake day tomorrow, I like them simple with lemon and sugar.

Complicated dayfor me...first thing our ceiling in kitchen looked damp, then I could hear a dripping noise, I got son to see if he could see where it was coming from, he couldn't. So was forced to ring LL as it was spreading and bubbling on the ceiling. So plumber rang me, he told me  to turn off water till he came after 5pm, oh no! Not only do I hate people coming to the house, but no water, no flushing toilet, all day, what a pain But luckily plumber decided to come earlier though as it sounded bad,

When he came I told him the dripping had stopped and it was something to do with the rain, as it only started when it rained and the harder it rained , the worse the leak was, and son noticed this too from his bedroom. "No he said, it can't be a thing to do with the rain"....and off he went in bathroom looking for leak, Came back down, couldn't find anything, so decided to go in garden and he then noticed a gap in the roof, so said it was that and why it was worse wiith rain! Now I have to wait for roof guy to ring me and sort it and if it rains, get someone to make hole in the ceiling to let water go through that, to avoid ceiling collapsing. Oh dear, I will be watching the weather closely now.

Not sure what to watch tonight, might watch my pottery recording.

Have a good evening bothxxx

M

Evening Mollie.

So many places have floods, saw them on the news, such bad luck, not good for your daughter to have no trains running.

Yes, with the spud peeler able to scrape the carrots as well as the spuds at the same time it's just so handy, a gentle fry of the pork steak leaves it so juicy, unlike when you do a joint in the oven.

I don't think i should have had all 6 pancakes really but didn't fancy leaving the rest, i have another pack anyway.

Oh dear, nothing worse than a leak from the roof or gutters etc, hope you can get someone out, yes, putting a hole in the ceiling with containers below is the best thing otherwise the water will spread across the ceiling and bring it down, if it's plasterboard.

If its in the kitchen you may be able to set something up to channel the water to the sink as if it rains a lot the containers will just fill up, maybe an old sheet or something rolled up and at an angle, the keep it straight use a broom handle, just an idea, you wouldn't have pieces of guttering lying around would you, the plumber might though.

Have recorded the secrets of the tobaco company, and the food unwrapped, watched Salvage Hunters, now watching Opal Hunters.

Have a good evening.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky Its been a lovely sunny day here , so far ....but I think rain and sleet are forecast for later ! Still the sun gave me a much needed kick up the rear and I’ve started cleaning out cupboards and throwing away rubbish  I’ve only made a small dent in it , but it’s a start .....I need my daughter here to be able to take other stuff to the charity shop . I hope you are both having a good day , whatever you are doing.

Mollie , hows the arthritis today ? Bummer about the roof ....but hope it’s been fixed now , one way or another By the way , I don’t like people (workmen) coming to the house either

Hicky , I’m not having pancakes ...not worth it just for one ....and don’t think Sammy would be interested But I used to like just lemon and sugar too ....and had a tendency to stuff my face until I started to feel sick   Hope you enjoyed yours though ....all 6 of them

My viewing for tonight is sorted ....Back in Time for the Corner Shop at 8 ( I love the Back inTime series) then Lucy Worsley on BBC4 at 9Have a good evening , whatever you are watching ....oh and I was happy with the DOI result

Baz

Evening Baz.

Cool today at 7c with light rain showers and hail showers but they never arrived, it stayed dry all day, a fresh breeze though.

Had the leftover cooked veg from last night and fried chopped bacon and had baked beans, spent some time in the summerhouse, it gives me time to plan ahead.

For tea i got a meal from my garage freezer, it was a meat casserole, then o/h came in from giving a relation a lift to and from a hospital appointment, she had brought a fish and chips for her tea and gave me some chips.

We don't have any cupboards to clean out, did them last year.

I'm delaying the next pack of 6 pancakes till tomorrow as i've had enough today, got a hot x bun for later, i think having 6 is too much, i will have just 3 next time, they are lovely with honey on as well.

I'll record the corner shop, will watch Salvage Hunters, then Ben Fogle.

Have a good evening.

glad to hear you had some sun again, and managed to start a bit of a spring clear out. I too have been trying to start a clear out. I just don't know how we collect so much stuff that we never use!

I used to like all the Back in Time, so thanks for the info, will watch it on catch up as I missed it.

Arthritis not too bad today thanks, but I was glad to rest the achy knees/feet after walking round town.

Hicky

You are certainly making good use of that spud peeler, and sounds like you enjoyed the pancakes if you polished off 6 of them. That showed good self control now though by saving the other pancakes to eat 3 at a time.

My son made us pancakes today and they were delcious. I just like them the simple way with lemon and sugar.

That was handy your OH coming in with a take away and sharing her chips with you.

Yes the celing is plasterboard, and it had spread a long way along it. Will ask OH if he has any pieces of guttering around. No sign of the roof guy today, but as the wind was a different direction, it didn't seem to get any worse. I will phone tomorrow if we don't here as obviously it could start again any time.

We got the hailstorms you were supposed to have, I think. A cold, showery day.

New series of the Windsors on C4 tonight, so will enjoy that.

My friend became a grandma a few days ago, so I popped to local little florist and asked them to make a bouquet for me to give to her when she came to visit. Amazing how pretty these florists can make a bunch of flowers look, it even had a lovely pale blue bow , as the baby was a boy. So she came for brekkie, and bought her daughter's dog with her,so he was occupied whilst the midwife came.

Then we popped into Cardiff and I got a nice thick warm wooly scarf from Primark in the sale for ÂĢ3.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

We had a vid call from Oz this morning, lovely to see them, the little one has a mad half hour before she falls asleep.

The potato peeler is fantastic, works a dream and so easy to clean, i tried it with the Kiwi, it took the outer hairy part off but they are a bit ripe.

I was going to have 3 pancakes today but after the plate of casserole and a small plate of chips and a hot x bun didn't have room.

Hope you can get the roof fixed pretty soon as water once in nthe house takes an awful lot to try and dry out.

I think the hailstones arrived after dark, heard something on the windows.

That was thoughtful, getting a bouquet for your friend, and a pale blue bow, very nice, bet she was pleased with that, and surprised.

That was nice, a good price for a wooly scarf, something i never think of these days, not sure why.

Sleep tight.

Hicky

Evening everyone.

Hope you are all ok in this weather and virus climate.

7c here today with cun and rain with strong winds.

Went to the farm shop and butchers, got some nice fruit and veg, also some lovely bacon and bacon ribs.

Had a steak pie brunch and for tea had bacon ribs, the best i have ever had.

Had a few deliveries today, my radio controlled watch, my extra seed tray covers and some 4" tape.

This Corona virus is pretty scary, if the incubation period is 28 days then all what is being done is pointless, China should be sent the bill for all these costs, they didn't report the virus soon enough, they didn't stop 5 million people leaving the country, now almost every country in the world has the virus.

Loving this new watch, if i press a button it tells me the time, press it again it says the day and date and year and its luminous.

Have a good evening.

Hicky
