Evening Both.

A bit foggie out when we went to buy a bed.

7c with sunny intervals and a light wind.

Had Toast for brekkie.

Then o/h wanted to go to the bed shop, well, not really a shop, it's massive, 2 floors of beds, she found what she wanted anyway.

And on the way back, she asked if i fancied some Kentucky Fried Chicken, well not being one to refuse an offer, she got me a box meal of various goodies and chips with a pot of gravy, nice.

So for tea i just had soup and toast for tea.

Watching DOI now, got Love Isnad later, i have caught up from last nights shows.

Still no sure how to run the watering hose around the veg tubs, i could put a hole in the side to pass the hose through, in/out twice a tub, a lot of holes, i might practice on one of the other pots which aren't involved.

I've used the watering hose before but on a big Raspberry raised bed, they work fine its just how best to ise on big round tubs.

Mollie, Hope you are sleeping better and the throat isn't bothering you too much, same with your lad, hope he is doing ok now.

I'm recording the pottery show to watch later as times clash.

Baz, Hope you had a good day and your daughter managed to get you to M&S for some goodies.

Hope you got your spa hour today.

Have a lovely evening both.

Baz

hope you had a nice day with your daughter and are well stocked for your M and S food now, and Sammy is well stocked too from PetsRUs. Did you enjoy your spa?

Hicky

You are so clever at designing things, I am sure you will be successful working out the hose problem.

That is sad you have lost another neighbour, what a shock for his family to be  diagnosed and gone within 2 weeks.

My neighbour (who we dog sit for) has had bad news too. Her husbands sister (who they are staying with in Bangalore), was taken ill when she got home from work on Thurday and was rushed into hospital that same evening. Sadly she passed away today. Something to do with liver disease. Not sure if she had been unwell beforehand.

What a nice treat for you to have KFC... and with their delcious gravy too. No wonder you made no objection to your OH's suggestion for that.

I too am watched DOI and am going to watch Love Island after.

I think you will like the pottery show, it is repeated a few times in the week I think.

You are so right, a bit of sun brightens life. It has been wonderful the last 2 days to get some sun after all that rain we have had recently. And the morning frost was just beautiful this morning.

It was so nice and sunny today that me, OH and the lads took our dog to the seafront and the lads  had fish and chips on the seafront, and I had chips and mayo followed by a strawberry stripey ice cream after. (Daughter was at neighbours house looking after the dog). The seafront was so busy with people walking, lots taking their dogs too. It felt so warm with the sun reflected off the sea, we even took our coats off. Think it was so busy, as not only was it was a weekend, but because it was the first full sunny day we have had since Christmas day.

My son is good now thanks, he has even started his gym game again and hopes to get back to the proper gym soon. I am so much better too as am able to go out again and always seem to be hungry. (which is normal for greedy me!).  I just get a bit more tired than normal, but think that will go soon. Its feels so good to be able to go out again after being stuck in for weeks feeling so unwell.

Have a good evening both xxx

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky Hope you are both enjoying some sunshine .....it’s been a lovely day here ....almost springlike I had a lovely , relaxing facial yesterday ....and my daughter came so I’m now stocked up again  Today  I’ve seen the counsellor . It’s always quite cathartic , but I feel quite blitzed now. Apart from that it’s just been housework ....and not much else .

Mollie, I’m glad you and your son are so much better Sad news about your neighbours sister in law .....and Hickys neighbour ....sorry I missed the latter post  on Saturday Hicky   What did you both think of doi ....I thought the scoring was very strange this week ....and no way Lucrezia should have left over the footballer ! I see there is a new cooking programme on C4 tomorrow night at 8 ....think I’ll give it a whirl

Anyway , I hope you both have a good evening ....sadly , not much on tv tonight though  ! Take care

Glad you had a good day yesterday with a facial and a visit from your daughter. What is your fave treat from M and S? And its good you are seeing the counsellor to help you.

Yes the scoring and result on DOI was rather strange.

Hicky

hope you had the nice sunny day we had here. (and Baz did too).

I just had to take advantage of it, so returned to the seafront again. Not so busy today, being a week day, but a fair few around. I was naughty and had chips and mayo again, and OH shared a fish with the dog. I don't eat chips at home, but just cannot resist them on the bench overlooking the beach on a sunny day.

Son left for rehearsals about 7pm (for a part he has in Chicago) and his car was covered in thick frost already.

Going to watch Cold Feet on itv tonight.

and record Love Island.

Have a good evening both xxx

Good Evening Mollie & Baz.

Cool today at 8c with sunny intervals and a gentle breeze.

Had beans on toast with 2 sausages for brekkie, then decided to do some jobs outside, i can use the summerhouse as a workshop, i wanted to make a tube to across between the end supports where the vine cross wires connect, as i tighten the support wires it bends the end sections inwards because they bend with being aluminium and only bolted top and bottom, i need 3 pieces in all so found 3 lengths of 8ft 16mm tubing which will do, very slightly short so have made an extention piece for each end that will fit on the end supports, have fitted one today, it works fine, just as i imagined it would.

For tea i found a freezer meal of beef casserole so added more carrots and celery and spuds in case it was short, it was nice.

Mollie, Yes, some people came from London to see him, too late i'm afraid, so sad, thats the forth one within 4 doors away since we moved in.

Yes, Love Island tonight with aftersun after it.

I don't blame you all going to the seafront for fish and chips and ice cream, going to see if we can go to Parkgate tomorrow for their fish and chips.

Rang up Sarsons today to ask why we can't buy their 1794 extra strong malt vinegar from Sainsburys any more, or from Amazon, they said it didn't sell enough in the supermarkets so it was removed, they had to stop making it in the end as they couldn't sell it, it is much better than any other, i found out off the web that the vinegar they use in the chip shops is fake, it's not brewed at all it is just made from chemicals.

Glad your son is good now, so easy to be struck down isn't it and its good you can get out again and enjoy some food,

Baz, Glad your daughter came, and a facial, wow, you are spoilt, and today the counsellor it should all help you in the end.

Just take it easy and put your feet up, have a good evening both.

Hicky

Evening Mollie & Baz.

8c today with thick cloud and a gentle breeze.

Just had 2 rounds of seeded toast for brekkie, eating far too much.

Did a bit of work for the greenhouse, fitted another aluminium stretcher across the 2nd side to give support to the end vertical bars which support the horizontal cords/wires

But on measuring for the one needed at the back of the greenhouse i messed up, got a figure of 185 cms but needed to deduct 40mm before i cu the tube, well, i deducted the 40 from the 185, oh dear, i cut over 40 cms off, i should have deducted 4 cm so i got a piece and cut the correct extension fastened the 2 together, it fitted fine then.

I was thinking, to run the watering hose through the veg tubs i can do a loop in each then exit in a straight line so instead of having say 4 holes or 4 slots per tub i only need 2, problem is the 15m hose won't be long enough so will have to order another coil.

Might order som fish products this week, on my list is Lobster meat, Tubs of Jellied Eels, Crab Sticks, King Scallops, Kingfish, Canadian Snow crab meat and chilli vinegar.

For tea had a bowl of seafood noodle soup then some beef tikka masala with rice, wasn't impressed.

Going to the farm shop tomorrow then hopefully getting fish and chips for lunch on Parkgate prom, it must be the only prom that has sea 3 or 4 miles away these days.

Hope you are both well and keeping warm, getting cooler this week.

Hicky

hi both xxx

just lost my long post as it said I hadn't signed in.. something to do with the cookies again!

Baz

hope you have had a good day. Did you get out or stay in with Sammy?

Hicky

thats good it was dry, so you got work done on the greenhouse but shame you messed it up at first.

Sounds like you are about to get well stocked up on fish.

Hope the weather stays nice for your fish and chips on the seafront tomorrow. We used to live in Weston super Mare and the sea goes out a long way there too, not sure how far though.

Didn't realise Sarsons had stopped their vinegar, I can remember we used to have it.

Another lovely sunny day here today.

Daughter took neighbours dog to vet today, as he had been a bit sick most days since she had him, and sometimes shaky. He has been eating ok though. We think our neighbour knew he wasn't right when she went away, as she had told me he had been sick. He had 2 injections and some tablets, vet said he had tummy upset. He seems brighter now. They didn't charge us, so they are either going to send the bill to our neighbour or use their insurance. Vet told daughter to feed him bland food, eg chicken and scrambled eggs.

Son made yummy mac cheese for all 5 of us tonight. I had it with peas, carrots and a slice of seeded bread. His mac cheese is so good as he puts lots of extra mature cheese in it. I have just eaten a Turkish Delight, so I too am eating too much!

Watching the dog show on C5, then 24 hours in A and E. Will record Love Island.

Have a good evening both xxx

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Miserable day here weather wise ....but the hairdresser has been so my hair is now shorn to a manageable length Apart from that I’ve done some housework and washing,  and not much else Hope you’re both having a good day .

Mollie ....that Mac and Cheese sounds yummy Sorry about your neighbours dog , but hopefully he will pick up soon now the vet has seen him . As for eating too much ....I think,  given how poorly you were,  a few extra calories are in the card Don’t forget it’s the pottery throw down tonight

Hicky , reading your post I realised that you aren’t a million miles from me Your garden /greenhouse stuff sounds very complicated I love scallops , crab and lobster but you can keep the rest

Anyway, have a lovely evening both . Take care

Baz

Evening Mollie & Baz.

9c today, thick cloud with a gentle breeze.

Went to the farm shop, then got the fish and chips, so good.

Have ordered the seafood/fish will be delivered Friday, got free delivery and 15% off so pleased with that, i like to put fish in amongst the varied diet i have.

I got som liver from the butchers so i can make a liver & onion dinner.

Rang the scrapman as i want to get rid of my old steel wheelbarrow as i can't mend the wheel, have some other steel tubes that can go and the big patio heater, we don't use it.

Mollie, It asked me about the cookies the other day, when i agreed i then did an F5 and it came up that i wasn't signed in, so i signed in before posting or i would have lost mine as well, it must be an error in the software code that they don't know about.

Oh dear, you can do without having problems with someone elses dog, hop he is ok.

Sarsons haven't stopped making vinegar, it was the special 1794 Extra Strong Malt Vinegar, o/h saw it once and bought it in Sainsbury's but never saw it again.

That was nice of your son making mac and cheese for you all, wow, well tutored.

Baz, Amazing what a difference a visit from the hairdresser makes.

The greenhouse stuff isn't really complicated, if you imagine what you would need to do to have the vine running along 3 sides of the greenhouse 6" (150mm) from the glass.

An aluminium staging i had was fitted with 2 top rails and 2 bottom, the rails where a 'T' shape and had holes in the 'T' every 120mm so i took the staging to bits and used the 'T' section to fasten to the sides of the greenhouse top and bottom by taking some glass out then i could run a platic wire from one end to the other and fasten some with wire strainers to take the weight of the vine cane and some with bungee cord to make them removable, they are fixed each end with 'S' hooks.

I love all seafood etc, when doing some software for Fords Dagenham we used to go to a caravan that came on a Sunday to get Jellied Eels and other goodies.

And o/h's family are all fisherman, always have been, but most catches go abroad these days.

Have a good evening Both.

Hicky

Baz

sounds like a good day weather wise there to stay in and have the hairdresser visit you.

Thanks so much for the pottery reminder,  I had forgotten again. I always nearly miss it because I rarely watch E4.

I had a feeling your weren't far away from Hicky, but you are not allowed to sneakily visit him and eat all his scones without me.

Hicky

that's great you got to go to the farm shop, and enjoy fish and chips.

Sounds like you got a bargain with your fish because of the 15% off and the free delivery.

Daughter says neighbours dog was a lot better last night, thankfully. Let's hope the meds do the trick now.

Not sunny today, but not wet either, just dull and cloudy.

Went to asda for a bit of food shopping. Son made a roast dinner, I had the veg and a few mini quiches with the veg that I got from Costco, very nice they are.

Watching Breaking Dad now, father and son so lovely together, and Bradley Walsh is so funny.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie & Baaz.

8c today, it said heavy cloud but it's been sunny all day, a light wind.

Had eggs on toast for brekkie, put the wheelbarrow etc out so scrapman would see it but after staying in all day i rang him at 3pm and he said they had been to busy to come out so will come Monday.

My fish delivery should come in the morning, it will be on a through the night transport.

For tea i did the Liver & Bacon with onion gravy, cleaned and slice a few salad spuds and boiled them, i was going to make chips could couldn't be bothered.

I see windows have stopped updates on windows 7, oh dear, o/h's lappy is just thqat, we have missed any free ones so would have to buy windows 10 home which is not worth it on an older pc, new system really needs new hardware.

Mollie, Glad doggy seems a lot better, you can do without that for a worry.

Your son made a roast dinner, he is getting very handy in the house.

I've been watching the indoor bowls, wow, they are so good.

Baz, Hope you had a good day and sammy of course, don't do what can be left till tomorrow, it's not worth it.

I have a feeling i will be opening a tub of jellied eels as soon as they arrive as everything else is frozen, and crab sandwiches, do i love them, will have to thaw some crab meat.

Watched a program about Iceland, the frozen food one, a new warehouse come supermarket type bulk food store, massive, very interesting though.

Funny thing, i was watching this video the other day, cooking Kingfish, i will use this recipe when i do it.

I am subscribed to Grandpa Kitchen, have been for years, he died not so long ago but his sons carry on the channel.

Baz

hope you are having a good day today. Been out today, or stayed in the warm with Sammy?

Did you enjoy the pottery show again? I did. Gosh that type of pottery they did outdoors is long winded and complicated, isn't it? but they all did well. The porcelain bowns were just so pretty.

Hicky

pity the scrapman didn't make it. Did you have to bring it all in from the front again?

pity your OH's lappy has missed out on the windows thing. So does that mean she needs a new lappy now? If she does, when I was looking for mine, I found most places did only a years guarantee, but John Lewis and Costco did at least 2 years on theirs. I think some on John Lewis did 3 years. I have made use of the John Lewis guarantee when mine broke, no problem, took it in shop and fixed for free.

Yes son's confidence is growing with his cooking now, he wanted to make use of his year out of uni, as he can't do his  last year of his degree locally until September. He is studying his Japanese again, as he thinks it will help him in the work he intends to do. Hopes to go there in the Spring too. Do you know of any easy cooking sites he could look at? He does like spicy food, eats meat, mainly chicken, but doesn't eat fish.

I remember you showing me Grandpa kitchen stuff before, good to know his sons intend to carry on on his behalf. Those fish are huge!

My other lad has been watching indoor bowls too.

am watching Brits Abroad again. Not sure what to watch after.

Daughter had to go to town today, so I helped look after Cookie, He does seem a lot better now since a visit to the vets.

It was dry but cloudy and dull today.

Have a good evening both xxx

Afternoon Darnies How are you all today ? Weather is still horrible , but  I made it into town ...got a taxi there ....and bus back ...and picked up a few provisions ..mostly for Sammy Apart from that , I’ve changed the bed and done a load of washing .

Mollie , how are you feeling now ...back to normal? I promise not to eat all Hickys scones Glad the dog is a bit better now Hicky , bummer about your wife missing the update I’ve never heard of Grandpas Kitchen ....but the size of that fish

My TV viewing for tonight is Secret Scotland , Monty Don and Worlds Poshest Hotels Whatever you are both watching I hope you have a good evening

Baz

Evening Molliw & Baz.

8c again with thick cloud and a gentle breeze.

Had scrambled egg on toast for brekkie, stayed in as i waited for the delivery person, i could see where they where on the computer as it tracks the driver, package arrived at 10.30 2 big poly boxes bound together, 1 for chilled the other frozen food, it took 10 minutes to get the wrapping off, it was like an amalgamating black sheet, you don't need sellotape as the wrapping self seals, hard to get off though.

My second Soaker hose arrived as well, not sure how to install into the tubs yet.

Just had 2 corn on the cob and a big bowl of mushroom soup, going to have a bowl of Jellied eels now.

O/H been off work this week as she had to take some holidays owing, so haven't got my shopping yet, i don't need anything off the list urgent.

Mollie, Yes, i put the scrap back behind the back gate, the driveway runs past the front door from the road to the garage in the back, the o/h parks her car in the front garden now as it has a blue slate surface.

It's pften not a good idea to use the same lappy or computer to upgrade to a new operating system because the hardware is usually too out of date and you probably wouldn't have a good enough motherboard or memory etc, or fast usb ports etc, so it is always best to buy a computer with the latest windows installed, how must the lappy etc will cost depends on what extras you need or want.

Yes, a 1yr warranty is usual, but in general with most electronic equipment if it has a problem then it usually shows itself within a few months, the one we have is a 17" big and heavy but i think i upgraded it to Windows 7, and that was free, but once the windows stop the usual updates then it's no longer safe to use as it becaomes vulnerable to attack from viruses.

I watch James Martin every Saturday morning on ITV, on his website is loads of recipes and also an icon at the top of the page to a cooking school, that could be worth looking at. https://www.jamesmartinchef.co.uk/

On the Grandpa Kitchen site i watched nearly all the videos and wrote down over 40 recipes straight from the video, i think looking at those videos give you good ideas what can be cooked and how.

Yes, Brits abroad is good and the bowls this afternoon.

Baz. Its good to get out for a bit, even by Taxi, well at least Sammy will be well fed, its hard to know how so much cloud can be up in the sky with the sun being so cool how is so much water evaporating, unless its being blown in from some hot country.

 Have a good evening both.

glad you made it into town, despite the weather.  at Sammy being the main recepitent of the provisions.

Day at home today?

Hicky

I like those deliveries you can track on the pc, at least you know when to expect them. Hope you are pleased with your delivery and can work out how to do your soaker.

Have you decided on a new lappy for your OH yet? my OH recently bought one from Costco, that happened to be on offer there.

Thanks for the James Martin link, that's very helpfull,  I too enjoy watching him on tv, but never thought of looking at his website.

I think that pneumonia must of lowered my resistance because I have a cold now! Runny nose kept me awake last night and I have to keep grabbing the tissues because I have been sneezing a lot. Feel tired but not ill like when I had pneomonia. So just stayed in today, couldn't even be bothered doing the washing, with the runny nose.

We had to take neighbour's dog back to the vets last night as he was still being sick, we were there an hour and half till 9pm as they did blood test. His blood test was fine, but he is there again for a scan today to try and find out what it is and what they can give him. My neighbour whatsapped me at 2am due to time difference telling me not to worry about the expense. (which is only fair, as my daughter is saving her around ÂĢ700 in dogging sitting fees again!). And then told me she was busy today with her mother's birthday party. Doggie is insured so I think they pick up a third of the bill. So far it is ÂĢ200 with all the meds and 3 consulatations.

Looking forward to the Masked Singer today.

I still miss Gogglebox on Fridays Baz, as can't find much else of interest to watch.

Evening Mollie & Baz.

8c today, light cloud with a gentle breeze.

Had a late brekkie as o/h had been shopping, got my shopping list anyway.

Had Crab sticks on bread, double layer, chopped the sticks up and added some Mayo and saln n pepper, nice though.

Been watching the bowls this afternoon, tidied the garage freezer to put the delivery in the correct bags, to make room i took out over 2kg of frozen raspberries i had frozen a couple of years ago, i used to make Jam with them years ago but few people eat jam now because of the sugar, i had some of the raspberies with some double cream after tea.

For tea i made the stuffed peppers, wow, i could only manage 3 half peppers and had made 6 so i will see if the other 3 will freeze as too nice to throw away.

Just been watching Celeb Catchphrase.

Mollie, The fish delivery is super, can't get enough sea food, and this place sells almost any type of fish so i can try different types.

I always watch James on a Saturday, i used to watch him on BBC1 untill he moved to ITV, he is fantastic.

Not sure what to do about the Lappy yet, o/h says we only use it on a Sunday to chat to Oz.

Sorry to hear you have a cold coming back, thats not good.

Wonder what is wrong with neighbours dog, could be serious, hope not.

Watching The Masked Singer now.

Baz, Hope you are well and had a good day, keep warm and take it easy, some good tv over the weekend for you.

Hicky

Hi Hicky x

glad you are pleased with your fish delivery.

I got some frozen giant raspberries from costco (unfortunately  not home grown like yours) and enjoy them in winter with some custard. Double cream with them sounds delicous too.

Luckily neighbour's dog is back home with my daughter now. The scans were clear, so they think it is just his teeth. They have given him pain relief and antbiotics so we are hoping he starts eating again. But at least his major organs are ok.

Back to Masked Singer...love this show...

What are you watching tonight Baz?

M

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Hope you’re both having a nice Sunday . I’ve been  for my spa hour ....facial and Indian head massage .....and my daughter popped over and took me shopping ....so not a bad day  Sammy isn’t speaking to me though , cos she’s been flea’d today

Mollie , hope you’re cold is a bit better now Tonight I will be watching DOI ...then I may give the reality thing in BBC2 a whirl at 9 ....Hicky , glad your fish delivery pleased you Raspberries and cream sounds yummy . What do you think of the Caprice fiasco ?i don’t think they should have let her come back

Anyway , have a good evening both of you

Baz

Evening Mollie & Baz.

8c again today with light rain and a moderate breeze.

Had a video call with my lad in Oz for half an hour then made brekkie with bacon, sausage, black pud and 3 eggs, oh and a round of seeded toast.

Had a sit in the manshed/summerhouse, only 10c for now, the fan heater is auto controlled but also on a timer and i have set the timer to allow the heater to turn on for half an hour every hour, but from 10am to 2pm i let it turn on any time, will have to change the temperature setting on the heater when i have seeds planted.

Been watching the bowls again, also watched the Greatest Dancer from last night and the Love Island unseen bits.

For tea i took the 2 lamb leg steaks from the fridge and did them, added some sliced celery to the pan, made some gravy, nice.

Just found the last scone, o/h has had the rest, and she tells me not to make them, she must be weak willed.

Mollie, I finished the small bag of raspberries i put in the fridge, the 2 kg bags will go in the bin, i don't have room and i cant eat them all, and noone would want them.

Glad neighbours dog is home and ok, strange, teeth would be so painful, poor doggie, thats the problem, not being able to talk.

DOI just started, been watching Storage Wars.

Baz, Spa, facial and head massage, that can't be bad, and shopping with daughter, budsy day.

Don't blame Sammy not speaking, must have had her fur ruffled.

I never heard the explanation of what happened between Caprice and her dance partner, i just know she dumped him for some reason, so i can't comment till i know more.

Have a good evening both.

How nice you got a good pampering, and got some shopping time out with your daughter.

Oh thanks for finding another new show,  that looks like it might be interesting.

at stroppy Sammy not liking her flea treatment, don't blame her though!

I agree and think that Caprice thing is ridiculous, she should not of been given a free pass through to this week if it is just the case that she didn't get on with her dance partner.

Hicky

Bet you enjoyed the video call, I guess at that age, the baby is changing quickly.

I can see your seeds are going to get spoilt with you working out your heating system for them.

at your OH telling you not to make any more scones, so she doesn't get tempted.

Oh no, you put your raspberries in the bin, I would of loved them. Pity you are a few hundred miles away though!

My runny nose started to dry up now, just feels blocked and dry but at least it is just an ordinary cold this time and nothing as awful as that pneumonia was.

Daughter rang me 2am saying dog had been sick 3 times, and whining in pain, so she had to ring vet. They told her to try and give painkiller, that he immediately sicked up and they booked him in doggie hospital for this morning. So he is there now being monitored for 24 hours and had an x ray to check if his insides are blocked. HOpe not, else we have to decide if to operate or not and he is an old dog now. I whatsapped my neighbour to warn her it could be bad and she said she is probably unobtainable for at least 3 days as she is going somewhere rural in mountains in Inida. Oh no.

Did nothing today, as I want to shake off this cold. Mainly watched tv.

Watching Iceland now. Gosh that is a good job, being a food taster. You'd be good at that Hicky. I am far too fussy though.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie & Baz.

7c today with sunny intervals and a moderate breeze.

Had 2 rounds of seeded bread for brekkie, thought i would be good.

Rang the scrap man when he hadn't arrived by 11am, he took my details and gave them to one of the drivers who arrived not too much later and picked up all the stuff which i was delighted to see go.

then i got 2 bags of chicken wings from the freezer to make hot chicken wings to a recipe i have, have been waiting for them to thaw in the fridge so i can freeze them before or after they are cooked.

I will make the marinade and put them in it tonight if they are thawed enough, then cook tomorrow.

Had a portion of the duck i cooked the other week, was eating it as it defrosted, couldn't wait tbh.

Then i had a tin of tomato soup with a packet of cheese whatsits as croutons, then made some sandwiches with crab sticks again, not sure why.

Been cutting up cardboard boxes to go in the recycle wheelie bin.

Had a text from one of my lads, he's having a hip op the end of the week, he is No#2 son.

Mollie, It is amazing how strong willed children can be at such a young age.

Yes, the seeds will be spoilt, of course, they need to be happy and produce well.

The raspberries took up a lot of room, i had noone to give them to, at the other place when i moved i gave a few kg of them to a neighbour, and they are frozen in 1kg bags for making jam.

Hope you blocked nose etc clear up or they might give you a mask to wear so you don't spread Germs, then they might think you are a Bandit, oh dear.

Poor Doggie, wonder what his real problem is, have a feeling painkillers aren't the answer.

I don't blame you doing nothing, get better is the main thing.

Not sure a food taster is as good as it looks really, don't fancy it myself, i don't like to eat on demand.

Baz, Hope you are taking it easy today, hope you had good tv viewing over the weekend, i enjoyed DOI they are getting very good.

Hope Sammy is behaving herself, they can be pretty destructive, or is it males that sharpen their claws?

Have a good evening both.

I am guessing as it is so cold today that perhaps you and Sammy stayed all snuggled up in the warm today?

Hicky

did you get in the garden today?

Wonder what you cooked today?

I had cheese and potato pie with sprouts and carrots...yum, yum.Son made it me.

Followed by a tart with tangy lemon sauce and raspberries on top that daughter bought me when she went to sainsbury.

Didn't go out today as it was too cold out and I am just getting over this cold. Thankfully my cold is going now though.

Will be watching Cold Feet tonight.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Very cold here ...but at least it’s dry It was my husbands birthday yesterday , which was very emotionally draining , so I’ve not done a lot today ....just the usual washing , ironing , hoovering and dusting Sammy isn’t speaking to me today ....don’t ask me how , but I forgot to put her bed in the kitchen last night  Hope your day is more exciting than mine

Mollie...oooo used to love cheese and potato pie ...not had it in years ....but now you’ve mentioned it I could really fancy some Glad your cold is clearing up ...but it’s probably wise not to go out in the cold weather Poor doggie is really going through it  Hicky , hope your sons hip operation goes well at the end of the week .Your manshed sounds good  I enjoyed DOI , but I really don’t think they should have let Caprice back ! I guess , if the rumours are right , her threatening to sue the company .....

Anyway, I hope you both have a good evening . Winterwatch for me tonight Take care .

Baz

Evening Mollie & Baz.

We posted again together yesterday Mollie, so you probably didn't see my post.

Anyway, it's Tuesday, 6c cloud sun and rain, the lot, with a moderate breeze.

Had 2 sausages and a tin of tomatoes for brekkie for a change.

Opened the big gates for the window cleaners as i got a text last night saying they were coming this morning, i pay online, saves messing with money.

My free seeds for the USA came, you know ray from Iowa, he was doing a free seed giveaway and you just send him an unstamped addressed envelope to his address and he sends 4 types of seeds, special beef tomato, special mixed lettuce, mini carrot and alfalfa which is like cress, well you can grow it like that.

He can only do this if it's free, he has a website that sells packets of seeds at 55 cents a pack but because he sells them he can't ship them out of the US, but if he just uses his home address he can send them anywhere in the world, he pays the postage.

I split the marinated chicken wings into 2 bags so i could freeze one bag, i have just baked the other bag of 12 pieces and made the hot sauce to go over them when baked, they were good.

I had a few sits in the manshed during the day as i get bored sitting in the house.

Mollie, I am a bit confused what to say with your post arriving after i posted yesterday and i had answered your post, so i can't answer todays as it hasn't arrived.

The cheese and potato pie sounds nice, i would have it on it's own i think.

That Tart sounds very nice, i could just eat one of them.

Dont blame you not going out, i wear my zip type jumper in the house, if i go in the garden i have 2 types of headgear i could wear depending on the weather and 2 hoody coats depending on whether it's cold or wet, i still go and have a coffee in the manshed because it's heated a bit.

My spuds are growing sprouts so am happy, a while yet before i plants them, they need 1" of growth before i do.

Baz, You do an awful lot when you are supposed to be resting.

The manshed has big shelving racks and everywhere there are rows of screws etc to hang things up, i hang everything possible so i can see where anything is, i have nearly all the tools possible as if i find i don't something i buy it.

I even have certain electrical tools in stock that have never even been taken out of the box, never mind not used, i bought it for sawing planks etc lengthways but never needed to use it.

About Caprice, i don't really understand the argument for saying she shouldn't be allowed to carry on with another pro dancer, one was injured and they just go another partner, if she couldn't get on with her partner then it's up to the show to find her another, isn't it?

Have a good evening Both.

Hicky

Evening Mollie & Baz.

9c today with cloud and sun also a fresh breeze, it was quite nice really.

Didn't have brekkie as we went to the farm shop for some goodies like mince, bacon, sausages, lamb leg steaks, Kiwi and crumbly cheese, carrots and mushrooms, got a free steak & gravy pie as i told them the one last week had no gravy.

Rang the gardener, oh, got a recorded message, "I am on a cruise ship, will be back on Feb 14th"

so i won't be having a chat just yet, i am still pondering over which is the best way to water the veg tubs with the new porus hoses.

For tea i was going to have Kingfish but had to put them in the fridge to defrost, so will have them tomorrow, i will marinade according to the Indian recipe, also thawing a little pot of jellied eels and am defrosting and desalting a piece of saltfish.

New bed for o/h arriving tomorrow, she said she can't sleep with the one she has, it used to be her Mothers i think.

Mollie. Hope you are well and weather not too bad where you are, will reply when i can see your post.

Baz. Hope you and Sammy had a good day, put your feet up amd let the world go by, unless of course something is urgent.

Have a good evening Both.

Aaaww yes I am sure you found your hubby's birthday date very emotional.

Poor Sammy with you forgetting her bed. Does that mean she had to sleep on a cold floor? Or does she just like you to move her bed into the kitchen at night? But of course you can't expect to remember everything for your little pet, I know I don't! But I do know the guilt feeling when you do as they look so helpless.

at you fancying cheese and potato pie now. I am terrible for that , if someone mentions something I like the sound of food wise, I can't wait to get one myself. eg. as Hicky mentioned tomato soup and whatsits as croutons, I fancy that now!

Pottery show tonight, so glad you mentioned it to me.

Hicky

we seem to be good at posting together lately, so I have to remember to check back for your posts.

Thats handy you can get those free seeds from USA.

Your manshed sounds lovely for you to sit and enjoy your coffee and very organised too.

I think the Caprice problem is that she got through a week without even performing, which is an unfair advantage on the others. If they all did it, it would mean eg...anyone could say they weren't skating one week they weren't keen on the routine, or because they had a row with their partner, and wanted a free pass to the following week.

I see you are well stocked from the Farm shop again.

Wonder where the gardner has gone crusing, he must be doing alright workwise if he can afford cruises.

By coincidence I am having a new bed delivered tomorrow too. the one I have is creaking like mad every time I move, most disturbing. Its louder than the thunder we had the other night. Hope your OH is pleased with hers. Will you have to assemble it? My OH and son will have to assemble it.

I am much better now thanks, no runny nose now, just sound a bit blocked up. But have slowed down completely this week and stayed home again today.

Neighbour's doggie came home from vet hospital yesterday and my daughter has been carefully nursing him. She had a list of meds for him, the only way she could get them down him was on a bit of peanut butter. She also had to try and get him to eat. She tried his fave fresh chicken breast, scambled egg and puppy food. He refused all these, so she sent OH to buy some plain fish and cooked that. Success! He ate a little, then ate some more. He did whinge at first after eating, but the 2nd time he ate, he was fine. We hope he will perk up now as he hasn't eaten a thing since last Thursday. They did give him drips though. He has to go back to vets for a check up tomorrow.

Just did a bit of tidying today.

Hope you see my post this time Hicky, I think you will as I posted late, so I can see yours today.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

yes we tend to post together.

I see what you say about Caprice, i don't care that much, i don't think she would want a week off.

We have paid for them to errect the bed and remove the old one, building it not a problem but removing the old one is, so didn't want to mess about.

Something isn't right with the doggy but i hope the meds can sort it out.

Yes, i came back to see if you had posted, watching Auschwitz untold: in Colour on C4.

Forgot to say, the gardener took early retirement some years ago and his o/h works as well, he works a lot, he has about 3 cruises a year, only like 10 days or so, he has been on an awful lot, seen most of the world that can be seen from a ship.

Sleep tight.

Afternoon Darnies My lunch  is a bit late today as the plumber has been here fixing a problem with one of my loos .....Sammy was not impressed and did her usual dash underneath Inchys recliner chair Apart from that I’ve not done a lot except a bit of housework . My son is taking me to visit Gods own country for a couple of hours on Saturday..to visit my husbands stone ....and one of his rellies that is terminally ill .....so I’m trying to get ahead of things  Anyway , I hope you are both having a good Thursday

Mollie ....how are you feeling now ? Is your cold better ?How is the doggie doing ?I thought the right one went on Pottery last night ....he seemed a nice guy , but had been in the weakest almost from the start

Hicky , I think the reason most people are up in arms about Caprice is a) as Mollie said ...and b) the fact that people really like Hamish and can’t imagine him being so awkward that she felt she couldn’t work with him . ..she strikes me as a right prima Donna How are your eyes ? Your gardener is lucky

Anyway Best Home Cooks tonight Have a good evening both

Baz

Evening Baz.

Not bad here today with light cloud sun and a fresh breeze.

Had bacon and egg on toast for sandwiches.

Spent some time outside, it was pleasant, also nice in the manshed.

They arrived with the new bed, pit it all together and took the old one away, very quick as well.

For tea i Kingfish, i made the marinade this morning and put it over the fish, left it a few hours then cooked it in the Wok, it was cooked perfect, the problem was!!! the bones, i ended up with a pile of bones bigger that the pile of fish i started with, so will have to have another look at the video from India where they gave the fish to about 100 children, how would they cope with all the bones, it was challenging for me.

Just had a bowl of custard, just felt like it for some reason.

Plumbers and cats don't mix, wonder why Sammy is scared of people? has she had a bad childhood.

That is nice of your son taking you to Gods Own Country Saturday to visit your Husbands stone.

I don't know Hamish, to me he is just a dance coach but it seems caprice thought she was being overworked unfairly, i think they are all overworked really as their isn't enough time to keep within schedule.

My eyes are ok at the mo, it's so hard to tell if they are any better or not, they don't seem worse though.

Yes, the gardener has ben having cruises for many years, he must have been on them all by now.

Have a good Evening.

Oh, forgot to mention, the 150 risky passengers off the plane from China will be housed in an islation building in the grounds of the Arrowe Park Hospital where i have my eyes etc tested, i won't be visiting them as i don't have the necessary clothing, mind you it's 2 miles away.

Hi both xxx

Baz

how very dare that plumber interrupt Sammy's quiet slumber and scare her! (although it was of course fully necessary he came as mummy's loo was broke!).

Aaaww Saturday sounds to be an emotional day for you. Is it far for your son to drive you?

Apart from bit of blocked nose, cold gone now thankfully. Am taking my vit D and Actimels now to try and help build the resistance.

It was Brits Abroad for me and Love Island on tv tonight.

Hicky

glad the bed was sorted so easy. Mine has been put off till Saturday now!

Shame all those bones spoilt your fish meal.

I too enjoy custard in winter. I like them with some of my frozen Costco raspberries.

Yes I think DOI is really very, very hard work for them all, so much harder to dance on ice, than on dry land, and more dangerous too!

Went to vet with daughter and neighbour's doggie. He is doing well, but is still frail. After he recovers, he needs dental work vet said. Poor thing. Daughter very patient with him, offering tiny portions of food to try. He did accept some fish and mash potato. My neighbours SIL came to visit dog and she bought daughter a pack with 6 Toblerones in for taking care of the dog.

I noticed the possible germ carrying people were going to Wirral, and your hospital too!  I thought they were supposed to be sending them to an old army base. Let's hope they do keep to this isolation plan and don't let them go wondering off. Wirral was trending on twitter cos of this today.

For tea I had onion bharji, mash, carrot, sprouts, peas.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Oh dear, if they had not delivered today it would have been a problem as the old one was stacked in bits.

I had another look at the Kingfish video and the fish cuts have the belly underside cut off, i will tell the fish place when i speak to them, i'm not paying for a bag of bones.

It takes years to learn to skate to a certain level, it is crazy expecting them to be able to perform to a high level, most unfair.

That was nice for your daughter, toblerone are always a fave of mine.

The isolate place is like a hotel, it only holds 150 guests though.

I thought it strange when we first heard of the outbreak when they said they could come back into the country and we will monitor them, madness, it could have an incubation period of 14 days.

And also, the people in China didn't tell anyone because they were scared of what the government would say if they released the findings so they didn't, they waited for permission, by that time thousands had left the area, now every country has the same problem.

Have a good night, hope you are well, sleep tight.

Just watching recordings of 24hrs in A&E

Hicky

Evening all.

12c today, cloud and sun, it had forecast rain but didn't see any, a fresh breeze though.

Had saltfish and bacon for brekkie, sat in the manshed for a while on occasions, had a swing in the weak sun, hard to find things to do, have got rid of all metal items, all the cardboard now gone, have got some bubble wrap to get rid of but o/h said she was going to the recycle dump again.

Decided to have the rest of the portions of duck that i frose, hard to eat when it's frozen though, slow a slow meal, i don't like to reheat it as it was quite well done in the first place, i mean overdone.

Hope you are both well and enjoying the mild weather, hope doggie is ok and Sammy also, the weekend is almost here so some good tv to be had.

Hicky

Baz

Hope you and Sammy are well.

did you have a day at home today, as you have an emotional day to come tomorrow?

Hicky

gosh yes, you must speak to the fish place about getting a fish consisting of mainly bones.

Good job OH had not disassembled my bed else I'd of had to sleep on sofa. Hopefully it will turn up tomorrow now. Did your OH find her new one nice and comfy? Hope so.

How nice you got a bit of sun so you could sit in it for awhile. No sun at all here today, just horrid drizzle all day.

Yes this disease has not been handled well at all. I saw on that bus to Wirral there was a guy sitting up front in full contamination outfit, yet the bus drivers had nothing. Poor things having to drive those buses! I read on twitter they had chucked the student nurses out of their accomation with hardly any notice, to put the contaminated people in there.

Watched Jayne Mcdonal holiday tonight.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

O/H said she slep well on the new bed, she normally doesn't get much sleep, which she blamed on the bed.

It is very high, the mattress is one of those 30cm + ones and a high base with a couple of drawes in, a lovely headboard.

I didn't know they chucked students out of the accommodation, but i suppose they couldn't leave all the rooms empty for ever.

I've been watching the darts again on ITV4 and it's on all weekend so i am happy about that.

Fancy the driver not wearing a mask, unless all the passengers had one on.

Have a good night.

Hicky

Evening All.

10c today with sunny intervals and a fresh breeze.

Had sausage on toast for brekkie, big sausages though so pretty filling.

Spent some time in the manshed, had 2 deliveries, some 'S' hooks and some wire strainers for the vine supports, i bought some 4mm ones but they are a bit soppy so ordered more 6mm which are a lot better.

For tea i have a plate of Nacho in the oven 2 layers and covered in slice green Jalapeno chilies, also salsa and the other stuff.

The darts is on tonight trying to juggle recording etc as there are also 3 other programs on, The greatest dance, The voice and the masked singer, could be a problem.

Must go dinger will be going in 2 minutes.

Have a lovely evening.

Hicky

Evening Mollie and Hicky  Just a flying visit cos I’m only just back from Yorkshire visiting my husbands stone and one of his rellies who is also dying of cancer  ....trip went ok ...if very sad. ....but it was lovely spending time with my son ( who drove me over there )  . Anyway, I hope you’ve all had a good Saturday, whatever you’ve been doing I will pop back and catch up properly tomorrow

Baz

Baz

hope you had a good day with your son, even though it was to be an emotional one.

Hicky

that's good your OH was pleased with the new bed. Mine came today, son and OH put it together, so will update you as to its comfort tomorrow.

That's handy you have the darts to entertain you especially this time of year when you can't do much in the garden. Its useful you have your manshed though so you can get out of the house.

I am watching The Masked Singer, love this show, then the Voice.Hope Tom Jones sings tonight, love his voice.

Went to sainsbury for a bit of food shopping. Had a chilli cheese and veg bake from Gregs. Absolutely delicious. And at ÂĢ1.60 a real bargain. We ate it outside and the wind was freezing. Good job the pasty was hot and the chilli was hot too.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie & Baz.

Baz, That was nice going over to Yorkshire with your son, yes, a very emotional day for you of course.

Mollie, At least you have got the bed delivered and built, you should get a good rest tonight then, hopefully.

I've had to try and record most programs as the darts is on from 7pm till 11pm on ITV4.

My spuds are getting some nice sprouts, 5mm of growth so far but they don't go in the ground for another couple of weeks.

Got a letter from HMRC saying i hadn't paid my tax bill. i rang them, took 20 minutes to get through, the bloke i spoke 2 tried to contact the department that handles the payments but couldn't contact them, i paid on 21st November and they took the money on the 27th, they are going to search and try and locate my payment, you couldn't make this up could you, i hate to think what type of admin system they run where you pay and it doesn't get allocated to the person who pays it, frightening really, they are going to get in touch when they find the payment.

I couldn't finish all the Nacho i made, just a little too much, so nice though, i used the grated cheese i bought, saves a lot of work.

Have a good evening both.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky Happy palindrome day

Hope you are both having a nice , relaxing Sunday  I’ve not done a lot ....bit of a downer after yesterday ....but I’ve been for my spa hour , so I’m a bit more relaxed now ....and just about to have my dinner ...hopefully before the shopping delivery arrives Sammy is just about speaking  to me again Not got a lot on this week ....although they are supposed to be coming to quote me for a new boiler on Friday ! So I think I’ll pop into town tomorrow ...or Tuesday ....just for something to do

Mollie, hope your new bed was comfy I see the Caprice business is no longer an issue ....she’s left ...again !Hicky, I hope the HMRC get their act together soon and find your payment

Well it’s DOI tonight , then I think I might give the BBC2 programme a whirl at 9 ...I caught a few minutes of it last week and thought it might be promising ...time will tell Have a good evening both . Take care

Baz
