Evening.
Nice day here, so a good work day.
Think it's supposed to be wetter tomorrow though.

Hope you get your wheel barrow built Hicky.
Is that for barrowing these fancy chips/slates about, or just for general garden work?

I realised this evening that Rothbury, where this killer Moate has gone on the run, is only 25 miles from me, as the crow flies.
I just hope the crow flies in the opposite direction.

The robot is great Mollie
He seems very clumsy though?
I think he's basically for entertainment rather than a scientific breakthrough. The head and arms are remote controlled, and the voices are recorded, but I believe there is a man inside controlling the legs for walking?
There seems to be conflicting views about it though, and some say he is completely robotic?
Here's a video supposedly showing a prototype, that is completely robotic, but it walks completely differently to the one in the house.

I'm surprised there are only 3 newbies going in, but perhaps there will be more later?
Quite looking forward to seeing what the Liverpudlian Rachel is like
emptybox
Good Afternoon Mollie & Emptybox.

It should be a good night on BB then.

I built the Wheelbarrow, it's just for general use really, but it's an industrial one, but for ÂĢ24 I didn't want to miss out, it's even got a big blown up tyre with 30 psi pressure in, carrying limit 400LBs.
It will be handy for moving slate around though.

Bad news about the killer being around Emptybox.

I would think the Robot was all Robot, don't think you could put a person inside that, there's no where for him to go, it's all joints and the Robot isn't hollow anyway.

Balance is probably via Giro controls, a person couldn't move the weight of the Robot, it's extremely heavy.
Hicky
I've cut down the last of the fir trees in the garden, it had been shaped, but was about 12ft tall but was dead and looked awful, but with my tools I have I managed to get most branches off, went to B&Q for a pruning saw to finish the rest, have cut a load up and put into the wheelie bin.

We had a lovely Liver and Onion Dinner with mash and Cabbage. I prepared it all and peeled the spuds and chopped the cabbage, chopped the onions and made the gravy.

I see Sunshine was of BBLB, is on BBBM as well, I'll follow her on twitter, she is on @sunshinemartyn for anyone that wants to follow her.

I would have though Keeva would have been a Model, she seems tall enough anyway, and she's very pretty as well.

It should be a good program tonight with 3 new HM's as well.
Hicky
Good evening all

Emptybox
glad the good weather is continuing up there for you to keep up to date work wise.
I didnt realise that the killer was the close geographicially to you. I hope for safetys sake they catch him soon.
Thanks for the video of Titan, how fascinating he is, and what great viewing. It is great this year to have such a good well thought out tasks. Now let us hope these new HM's are good. I think they sound promising.

Hicky
another busy garden day for you. That is the trouble with those trees, they are hard to cut when they grow so high. Glad you managed it though.
Sounds like you did a good job on making that dinner tonight.
Me and daughter had a night off cooking and went to the carvery. I had lots of help yourself veg, and a spicy bean casserole. Yummy.

OH's half day today , so we went swimming. I like swimming, especially in summer. When I was young we used to have a great outdoors pool, and I would spend all day there sunbathing and swimming with my friends, and eying up the boys.    I wish they still had those outdoor pools around now.

BB newbies time. hope you enjoy.
M
Hi Hicky.
The consensus is that thereis a man inside Titan - http://hight3ch.com/titan-the-robot/
There's certainly room, and there could be servo motors inside the legs to asist with movement.
But I'm not certain.
However, I think a remote controlled robot would be too dangerous around the HMs. Something could go wrong, and it could fall on them.

Pity your fir tree died.
I've got a shaped conifer that is a bit brown in places, but it's still alive, so I'm leaving it for the moment.

I love liver. Well liver and bacon usually.
I had mince and tatties. Tomorrow I'll make the rest of the mince into bolognese.

Phew! The big eyebrow is out.
emptybox
Evening.

Glad Nathan is out.
The BB live tweet told me at 10.15 that he had been evicted, then it retracted it, it shouldn't have gone out, but too late of course.
So that was over half an hour before we saw it.

I'm following Sunshine as well on twitter.

Been watching the Robot pictures/video and seeing that I see 500 a day at work and work with them there's no way any human is inside, it's a total impossibility, all the joints are normal Robotic joints, no part of the arms or legs are hollow so it's just a machine as I thought.

It would be no advantage to have a human inside anyway, humans can't control that type of automation anyway.
Hicky
Good Evening Mollie & Emptybox.

Love the Robot pictures.
I wouldn't think the Robot is controlled by a remote controller, the controls are far too complex to allow a simple device for control, I would expect that maybe pre-programmed chunks of code is initialised by a simple signal download, ot a number code sent by a radio controller.
As you can clearly see there is no chance of any person being inside the robot, the joints are all sevo motors and these days there is no jerk and the movement can be as fast as you want, in fact the speed can be so fast that it has to be slowed down because of the mechanical strain on the interconnecting flexible wires.
Hicky
Evening Hicky.

It's been a bit showery here today, but I got a hedge cut between the showers.

My car did it's wedding duties, and has been returned unscathed.
Seemingly they were impressed with my polishing work on it last Sunday.
Luckily it stayed dry for their photographs etc.

I haven't seen much BB today, so I don't know how the newbies are getting on, but I think Keeley has made an impact.

I'm going across to see my Brother tomorrow.
Hope you and Mollie have a good Sunday.

I'm glad to hear that the killer on the run has been found.
emptybox
Good morning all

I htought you 2 would like the look of the new HM's. 2 very attractive ladies. but fortunately I think they seem not only to be attrractive, but also interestng personalities. And I think Andrew seems to be a nice chap too.

having a busy weekend, swimming, groceirs and sales shopping yesterday,
thsi morning have to take son to drama, walk dog, then off to the International food festiveal in cardiff bay. I hope there is lots of nice free samples.

Em[ptybox
glad to hear the chaufferu dutes went off incident free. Was it a long boring day for you?  did they offer you a drink or food whilst you waited?  hope so.

nice pics emptbox of the robot.
that robot is so clever if even techies like you 2 cant work out how it works. It just baffles me completly. how much do you think it cost ot make?

Hicky
enjoy your garden today,

it was very hot yesterday here, but fortunately it seesm a little cooler today. have a good day all, must rush to put make up and dogs lead on.
M
Good Morning Mollie & Emptybox.

It's not looking too good today.

Did some more work in the garden yesterday, my Lad did some pruning of the next doors trees, they are overhanging my fence and I don't want the shadows.
I finished cutting all the old fir tree up, that's ready to get dumped, am going to redo the area's covered by the blue slate but it means picking it all up, and it weighs a lot and it's awkward to pick up.

A lot of work to do then in the garden, but I want to try and get it prepared for next year.
I'm hoping to get some nice fruit trees for next spring, will have to buy more massive tubs and the right compost.
I was thinking of a plum tree, maybe cherry, apple and another, pears aren't that easy or successful.
Hicky
Good afternoon all
another lovely day here today, and thankfully a bit cooler after all that recent heat.
HOpe it has cleared up where you are by now Hicky.

HIcky...
shame that fir tree died, and caused you so much work.  Still, new fruit trees sounds a good thing to get instead.   Our last next door neighbour used to have plum trees, They used to have lots of really nice plums on them each year, he used to give some to us.
What days are you working this week?

Been busy catching up with house jobs today, after being out most of the weekend. The Food Fare in Cardiff was really good. Very busy there. We had a few samples, I bought some nice local cheeses and breads back with me. OH bought himself a man bracelet .
Son was all day at drama yesterday, and is going again tonight, their production starts a week on Wednesday. We have bought our tickets for one of the nights. The National Opera have lent them the costumes, they did the phtoshoot yesterday. They have a couple of professional actors (one is off Gavin and Stacey) coming in to mentor them, so that should be interesting for him.

I wonder if Emptybox is busy in his gardens today?

Do you have a fave HM now?
I like all of the newbies so far.
M
Evening.

I enjoyed my day across at my Brother's yesterday, but the weather wasn't good at all. Cold and windy.
I was hoping for a sunny warm day, so we could sit in his garden, and maybe have a barbecue. But as it was, we stayed inside and had a takeaway curry.
I even had to borrow a coat, when we took his dog for a walk,

Trust my luck. Today was back to being warm and sunny, so i had to work.

Mollie, i didn't drive the car for the wedding, I just lent it to them, and they drove it themselves.

Hi Hicky.
That's a lot of work you've got lined up in your garden.
I've got a cherry tree, and a crab apple tree in my garden. We never get any fruits from them, but the blossom is nice. They've got to be pruned every year though.

It must be a tradition to have risque games at Baby Showers?
Judging from the pics from Chanelle's do, they were playing  one involving a long...er...thing.
Chanelle pic

And when Ash was at her friend Joanne's one last week, they were playing a dressing up game.
Aisleyne pic

Must say, I'm liking the new girl Keeley. What I've seen of her anyway.
BB seems to be on at 10.30pm tonight, for some reason?
emptybox
Afternoon Mollie & Emptybox

Couldn't get on this morning, wireless wouldn't let me on the web, was connected to the modem/router fine.
The 10m network cable stopped working as well, maybe with it being under a couple of doors and getting pulled about has broken a core.
Went out to PC World, got a 15m snagless Cat6 expensive cable & a new N300 Belkin modem/router to see if I can get the wireless going again, thats about 4 modem/routers I have now.

Liking all the newbies in BB, I wonder who will win the noms challenge then?.
It should be interesting anyway, not sure when it is though.
Have got some rubbish/tree branches to take to the recycle yard, it's about 5 miles away.
Hicky
Good evening all

Emptybox.
Sorry I forgot you were at your brothers, but I was wondering why you had been a bit quiet here lately.
what a shame about the bad weather when you went to your brothers.
you needed a coat! I am still feeling warm in short sleeves. But at last it does seem a bit cooler today. Pity you didn't get the BBQ, but hope the takeaway you had instead was enjoyable.  Does your brother live in the town or country?

Hicky
Gosh with all that complicated equipment you have now, lets hope your wireless works well now.

What is all this strange "Baby Shower" and silly games business?  I thought Bsby Shower was something they only did in America?   But I do think their dresses looked nice,

Yes Hicky, I too like the newbies. They have made for more interesting viewing anyway.

Son has an interview at college tommorrow to do an HNC. I have been helping him write a cv and give hints on how to answer possible questions. He is so quiet he might only say "don't know", "yes" or "no" to everything, unlesss I give him some hints.

OH's friend has asked us over to see his house he moved into recently, and we are having fish and chips with him , because he lives on the coast with a few nice chippies around.

Who do you want to leave BB now?
I don't want Mario to go, but don't mind which of the other 2 to go.

have a good evening both. xxx
M
Evening.

Yes Mollie, it was really strange weather up here on Sunday. Very cold and windy. Yet back to the warm weather on Monday.
It's been another nice day today, but we've had a bit of rain this evening.

My Brother lives in town. Well technically it's a village, but it's just next door to the town. He's got a nice house, but I don't really like the area. He's had yobs firing airguns at his house before now, breaking one of the windows.

A Baby Shower is definitely an American import, but all the young Mums seem to have them now. Just an excuse for a party really.

Hope your son's interview goes well Mollie.

Hope you get your internet connection sorted out Hicky. Does BT not supply a wireless router?

I think out of Corin, Ife and Mario, I'd rather Mario went this week.

My van is going in for it's MoT and service tomorrow, and I've got a dentist appointment in the morning, so I don't think I'll get any gardening done tomorrow.
emptybox
Good afternoon Mollie & Emptybox.

The Baby Shower has moved over here, I think it's a good idea, it seems to be very much enjoyed anyway.

Hope this weather picks up, it's so miserable and cloudy, slows me down in the garden, well if it rains I stop, can't stand being in it.

Hope your Son does OK Mollie, he must be one of the quiet ones.
Those Fish & Chips sounded good from the coast, can't beat them can you.

Don't think Mario will go Mollie, but he drives me mad, he's still going on about being nominated so wouldn't mind who goes this week.

BT do give you a Modem/Router but they all seem to get into a rut and you can't get online, each time that happens I connect a different unit and it's fine again, so I have to keep swopping, such a pain.
Haven't installed this new one yet, it's a 300meg speed one although I wouldn't need that speed with my line as it's only about 6.8Mbps.
Still haven't got the wireless working, had to put the new cable in, that was OK.
The wireless works for 1 minute then stops, not sure why, it says the connection is fine.
I'm considering changing to Win7 again, but would have to start again which I don't really fancy.
Hicky
Good evening all

Emptybox...
your poor brother having his window broken by an airgun. How annoying and scary too.
Such a shame that the only bad weather day you had in months had to be on the day you went out for the day to your brother's.
Hope the dentist visit went ok, and hope the van didn't cost too much for the mot.

Hicky
hope the weather improves for you soon HIcky, I know you have lots you need to do garden wise. We had some really heavy showers here today, but they didn't last long. Sorry to hear your internet problems are still ongoing.

Son's interview went well, but he has to wait for his final reults to the course he is just finishing, and until the interviewer can speak to his lecturers from this year, before he can get a definate offer. With all the cutbacks places are tight, so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I have just switched my livefeed on and just switched it straight off again.  Dave was woffling away again, and I do not want to be using up our GB allowance listening to Dave's blooming preaching. He is really getting on my pip with it now. Corin is also starting to grate, because every time I hear her she just keeps saying "loving it" over and over.
I do still like the new HM's though.

Fish and chips last night were lovely. and OH's friend took us a nice walk round the coast paths.

have a good evening both. xx
this new task looks good , doesnt it?
M
Evening.

It's been wet all day here, so I wouldn't have got any gardening done anyway.
My van needs new brake pipes to pass it's MoT, and they couldn't do that till tomorrow, for some reason, so I'll be without it for a chunk of tomorrow as well.

I went to Hawick for my dentist appointment (no treatment needed), then did a bit of shopping. I bought myself 3 T-shirts.

I didn't do much this afternoon, because I developed a bad headache, which I'm just getting rid of now.
Not sure if it was the scraping at the dentist, or the thundery weather, or a combination?

Don't know what to advise about your internet Hicky? Sounds like it might be your actual connection from BT?
My router plays up occasionally, but a reboot of it usually fixes it.
Hope the new one works better.

I'm really liking Windows 7, not sure if it would make any difference to wireless though? Although if you have any problems with the wireless connection it's easier to troubleshoot in 7.

Hope you've had a good day Mollie.
emptybox
Hi Mollie. I didn't see your post before I made mine.

Glad you son's interview went well, and you enjoyed your fish & chips last night.
Was your friend's new house nice?

Must admit I've gone off Corin a bit as well.
I still think she's a nice girl, and I've been defending her on the forums, but it's her voice, and those sayings.
Still rather Mario went, than the two girls though.

Yes, the girls look good in their superhero outfits.
Wonder who the 'Uber Cougar' is? Sounds a bit like Lesley Joseph?

My Brother was shocked by the airgun incident, and talked of moving for a while, but I think he's settled down again now.
Unfortunately it's just not a nice area though, but they are staying so the boys' schooling doesn't get disrupted.
emptybox
Good Evening Mollie & Emptybox.

Tested the Puter again to see how Win 7 would be, but results not so good really.
Been in the garden for most of the day, got one area of slate bagged, it's so heavy as well.
Put it in big bags off my Lad,
Am going to lift the weed control matting and even it out underneath, last time they just covered it all and it was a rockery before and they just went over the rocks.

Haven't put the new Modem/Router in yet, will when I get a minute.

Enjoyed the outfits they had on, it sure made them look a lot better than usual.

CDWM should be good tonight, Calum Best, Sam Fox, Jeff Brazier, Janice Dickenson
 at 8pm.
Hicky
Hi Hicky.
Yeah, it's heavy work, this landscaping.

I watched CDWM. Janice is a hoot.

I got my van back at 5pm, but it was another wet day anyway, so I wouldn't have got any work done.
I'll have to wait for them to send me the bill, but I think they had to put in quite a lot of work replacing the brake pipes.

I spent a lot of the day doing a huge pile of ironing and watching live feed.
JJ was having nice chats with both Keeley and Corin.
Just watching the HLs shows you get the impression that he is always bitching about them, so livefeed gives you a different perspective.
emptybox
Good morning all

Emptybox
sorry to hear you had a headache after the dentist. Hopefully it had cleared the next day? Shame you needed work on the van. Hope the bill isn't too much of a shock now.
I hope you aren't going to start getting behind now we seem to be getting a spell of wet weather.
Yes livefeed does give a different picture to some things we see on just highlights. I do find them interesting HM's this year. I thought Keeve did real well in the task, and looked so different (but good) in her outfit. Poor Josie's outfit was not complimentary though.

Hicky
hope the results are good from the new modem when you put it in. Sounds like hard work in your garden. Watch you dont do your back in.

Was busy yesterday, had to help advise son about a woffly part of his assignment that tutor had sent back , so he could add to it, to get higher grade. It was very woffly. he is ok with the techy stuff, but this woffle bit was rather taxing. I hope I have advised him right.

Have to get ready now to take son to drama. Their show is 3 evenings next week, so he will be in threatre every day all day now till then. I dont like the winding hilly country lanes on this route, and we have an old 7 seater, that is making a weird noises. so it is a big car to drive, I am nervous of the drive, and hope car doesnt break down on me.   Good job OH is on half day today, so he can pick son up tonight. thankfully my helpfull daughter offered to get out of bed to come with me, so I wont be on my own. I am buying her a maccas brekkie as a reward.

have a good day all.

looking forward to BB tonight.
Since I have been watching livefeed, Iffy is now getting on my nerves even more than "loving it", "buzzing" Corin.  Ifffy seems to ramble on and on and on, think she sees herself as the BB psycholigist.   And regarding Mario, sometimes when I think he is being nice to the other HM's I then go off him, because he says something crude, or has a little boy strop.   As I said, at least they are an interesting lot, can be a bit annoying, but i dont think any of them are nasty, so they make good viewing.
M
Evening.

Another wet day here, so I'm definitely getting behind again.
Plus all the rain will give the grass a boost in this heat.
Just hope it's dry next week.

Yes, I did eventually get rid of my headache thanks Mollie.
I was watching live feed again this morning, and IIfy was a blasted nuisance over the squaking parrot thing, so I wouldn't mind her going tonight.

What sort of weird noises is your car making?
emptybox
Good Evening Mollie & Emptybox.

Been busy again in the garden, loads to do, bagged the slate anyway, cut some more stumps off the base of the old fir trees.
Getting plenty of Courgette's off the plant and there will be lots of pea's when they fill out in the mountain of pods.
The carrots leaves are massive, maybe the actual carrot is only small.
The Beetroot are doing OK, Tomato's are behind as I started late.
The Potato's are still in flower so I'll leave them for now.

Wouldn't think it was a big job replacing brake pipes, but of course you have to refill and bleed them as well.

It's not nice driving with a noise, need to get someone to listen to it, it could be a pump or many things but it's not good leaving it.

I#m assuming Ife will go tonight, but not that bothered, only like the 3 new ones now really.

Like Emma on BBLB, George is a loone.
Hicky
Good Afternoon Everyone.

Hi Emptybox,
That's great if you've started having your own spuds.
Mine are a bit late so will let the flowers die down, not sure when you are supposed to take the spuds, will look on the web in a mo.
Had another one of my Courgette's this morning, sliced & fried in butter with pepper & salt, not too bad, never grown them before but they are easier to grow than cucumbers.
Will be having a nice crop of pea's soon as well, and the carrots are probably ready.

I've been cutting the last of the branches off the tree stumps, what a job, anyway I have built up the ground and put some bricks around the stump so I can put the matting down and the blue slate.

Glad it was IFE that went, the others are OK.
Will have to see what happens next week now.
Corin is Buzzin as she'd say, with still being here.
Hicky
Hi Hicky.

If your potatoes are maincrop pots, then you wait till they've flowered and the shaws have started to die off.
If they are early pots then you can start cropping them when the shaws are still green.

The ones I planted are earlies (Maris Bard), and I was waiting till they flowered, but my Uncle told me that you could dig them even if they haven't flowered, so I thought I'd give it a go.

Sunshine and showers today, but i got some grass cut between the showers.

I hear Corin has been doing some singing today, accompanied by Ben on the piano (part of Ben Day). Can't wait to see that on tomorrow's show.
emptybox
Good Evening Mollie & Emptybox.

I'll wait for the Potato plants to die down, no hurry, and found out the this earthing up on works with certain types, don't know what mine are as I got them off the neighbour as they were left over.

All the Veg is coming on fine, don't like this overcast weather though.

I see a bit of Ben on the Piano, he is good, he hasn't played on one for 10yrs, Corin can't sing though.
But Ben sure knows his stuff, a very learn-Ed feller.

Mollie must be very busy, but she did say she was going to be busy with her son and his Drama.
Hope your car holds out anyway Mollie. xx

I see Josie & Keeva wanted to leave, Josie was Jealous of Keeva getting close to JJ and had a bustup with her, Keeva didn't understand what all the fuss was about.
Hicky
Hi Hicky.

It's overcast here as well, but still warm.
Don't know where the sunny weather has gone?
Hope we haven't seen the last of it.

I saw a bit of Ben and Corin on BBLB. You're right. She can't sing.

I got my own grass cut, and hoed the flower beds. I also did my weekly shop.
Just hope there's dry weather next week, so i can get caught up.

I'm getting a bit tired of the Josie, John James shenanigans.
I certainly don't think Josie will go.

Hope Mollie is doing fine.

I'm never quite sure wether the Chantelle Houghton on Twitter is the real one, but I see someone asked her on that Formspring thing, wether she still saw Chanelle, and she said she did.
emptybox
Good evening all
yes, you are right hicky, having a hectic weekend. Today, son at drama from 9am till about 10.30pm tonight, so took doggie walk on seafront when we dropped him off. Then collected my mum and we took her to M and S foodhall, and bought some nice food.   And yesterday, did the cothes sales, after dropped son off and had brekkie out...got a flowery dress for ÂĢ3.50 from Asda, OH got a T shirt for ÂĢ2, and some other stuff for family
Inbetween I came in here to post, and just after I switched the lappy on, it turned off.   OH says it is getting too hot. And went swimming too.
OH thinks the noise in the car is the petrol cap wire that broke, because it clanks when it goes round bend. He says he will take it in garage next week to check. Meanwhile I need to take son to drama all days next week, so hope it is ok.

Emptybox
that is good news that your first crop is a good one.   I bet they were delicious , werent they?
Yes Ife was horrible in the Corin task, poor Keeva didn't get a look in, so missed out. I am glad Iffe is gone, because I don't mind any of the others now.
Sorry to hear that once again you are getting behind because of the wet weather.
Our garden is a mess after the recent rain too, all overgrown. OH tried to cut it yesterday and lawn mower gave up. He was mad because mower is quite new, then found out after wasting about an hour checking it, that it was the extension cable that had packed up. After all that , he didnt' want to cut the grass, so gave up.

Hicky
Glad to hear the veg are coming on so well. I am sure you will think of a tasty recipe to include them in.
that should be dead   seeing Corin accopmanying Ben with her singing.
at Josie getting jeolous of Keeva. What a strange pair JJ and Josie make.   Interesting to watch though.

I too am an Emma fan.   A real enthusistic type, makes a good change to have a real fan of BB on BBLB too.

I hope you have both had a good Sunday. xxx
hope you have both been buzzin.
M
Hi Mollie.

You've had a hectic time, but glad you managed to fit in a bit of retail therapy.

Hope the problem with the car is just something simple like you said.

My potatoes were nice. They didn't need any peeling, The skin washed off with the dirt.

I've been watching a bit of this talent show on Five, with Emma Bunton presenting.
I've always liked Emma Bunton.

Just going to have my supper. I'm having chicken breast in a chasseur sauce with some more of my own potatoes (boiled), and parsnips and mange tout.
emptybox
Did anyone see that John Barryman show on bbc1 at 8pm last night?  At the end there were twin girls on it singing. Well my son knows them, they both go to his drama club. I think they did well.

Son started drama 9.30am this morning and wont be finished until at least 10pm tonight. (and all next week too). Good job he enjoys going  so much.
M
Good Afternoon Emptybox & Mollie.

I did see the John Barryman show with the Twins singing, they were good, it just happened to be on, and hadn't been downstairs to turn over, it sometimes depends on what is on next.

It could be your petrol cap wire, I would make it so its not loose then try again to see if the noise has gone.

It looks like Keeva hasn't been able to nominate, not sure why, she can't say.

Could do with getting Dave out, he's got a screw loose.
But have a feeling they are all too scared to stand up to him, sometimes he talks utter rubbish and no-one says a thing, that's worrying.

Those are long hours for your Lad Mollie, heavens, how are you supposed to stay alert.
Hicky
