As Emptybox said Mollie, the Graphics runs your Screen, unless you purchase a separate card the Graphics is built into the Motherboard.
Using a separate card you can get a lot of much higher quality than with the built in stuff.

This one, for Emptybox, is a "Inno3D nVIDIA GeForce 9400GT Graphics Card, 512MB DDR2, PCI-Express, 128-Bit, DVI, Vista Ready, 550MHz GPU, 667MHz Memory Clock, HDCP, HDTV"

Just hope it will work.

Might not handle the latest games, but it will drive a 24" monitor with ease.

I only want the Graphics Card for the Monitor as the inbuilt one isn't good enough to give the maximum resolution of the Monitor.

Got some more strimming to do, no Sun today yet and another trellis to go up, they are only bamboo ones that expand to 6 x 3' but will go against the 6' sections of fencing, the vine is in the centre of the  section, have had to put wood chippings on the top of the container compost as some birds are digging, probably looking for grubs, think it's the blackbirds because I saw a couple pretty annoyed when I covered the veg plot to stop them digging.

Put the second trellis up, handy when you have all the DIY tools, hate not to have something.

Done some more strimming, done the bottom 6ft of the tree in the road as well, so annoying when the council don't look after them.

Next doos will hardly let you get past, so many branches.

Been eating some thin toast bics with Goats cheese and some home made pickle, this pickle is divine, gave my lad some before, it's Mango with fresh chilli's, de-seeded and chopped with salt, vinegar, mustard, lemon juice, some chilli sauce with some chopped in the machine and some not, it's heaven, won't last long though.

Been watching a bit of live feed, a lot of sound missing though.

They all seem ok to me, no faves yet, far too early.

The Sun has only been out a couple of hours, was very cloudy earlier.

We had tea out at pizza hut, because the kids like it there. You can have quite a good meal for £4 including a drink if you go for Happy Hour, from 3-6pm.

HM's all seem ok to me too, but it takes me a while to work out who is who. and to remember their names.

I thought chutney was different to pickle. I'm not that keen on the mango chutney TBH. My Dad bought it. Don't think I've used any since. I'm sure pickle is better.

Was working today until my lawnmower conked out. The engine is OK, but the spring went in the pull cord, and it wouldn't wind back in.
Luckily my old mower has the same mechanism, so I swapped them over, and everythings working again. 
I'll definitely have to get new equipment for next season.

brekkie out, and grocery shop, then off to cardiff bay to see a battle ship. except it was closed when we got there, so we looked round another ship, and are going back to try and look inside the battle ship this morning. Then went to shops in Cardiff bay, and bought a nice black T shirt, covered in red roses,  to go over my leggings.

glad you managed to get quite a lot of time out in the garden. We had a little bit of rain later on today too, but not much.

We got to go onboard the ship today, because we got there nice and early. I am so glad we did because it was very interesting. We went round nearly all the ship, it was huge, lots and lots of steps. I got to pull the trigger of one of the guns, and OH got to have a go on the big machine gun. They weren't loaded though.   The man told me it shoots up to a mile away.  I had to show inside my bag before we went onboard, and there were a few crew watching the public holding guns. The ship we saw wasn't an actual battleship, but a navy survey ship, and it has recently come back from the Antartic, so we saw lots of nice piccies of the wildlife they saw up there.

this afternoon we had a walk with the dog on the seafront when we dropped son off for drama, but we didn't stay long because it started to rain.

Just looking at livefeed, pleased to see Sunshine looking happier, and mixing and having fun with some of the boys. I think she is a nice girl, and I do not like hat boy, or Sabby (?) hat girl, for being so nasty about her. Serve that Sabby right, that she is being punished for trying to set Sunshine up for nomination.
I like Rachel and Josie so far too. I saw them laughing and having fun together in the snug talking about which boy HM's they would marry.

Glad you had an interesting time. I don't think I've ever been on a big ship? Just a car ferry, but a battleship would be a whole other thing.

I quite like Sunshine as well, and am going off Shabby a bit as well.

Twitter can be used on mobile phones, but it's mainly a web service like FaceBook etc, only more simple.
Must admit my main reason for joining was to help with a campaign to get Aisleyne invited to join the BB All-Stars house, but I think it might be fun, just for chatting etc.  

I installed Tweetdeck Hicky, and i can see it would be useful, so I'll persevere, but can't say I like the layout. All those columns are a bit confusing. It would be much easier if it used tabs.

You can use twitter on your Laptop or desktop Mollie, I don't use it on the phone, but a lot of people do, depends on what phone and contract you have.
A lot use the Blackberry one.


The Ship sounds great Mollie, glad you got to go on it.

Epmpybox, the 3 columns are great, one is for all tweets, the next for tweets to you, the next is tweets, PM/Personal ones, but if you go into settings you can change things around, and at the bottom you can empty a column etc.
You'll get the hang of it very quick.

Good News and bad, the good news is the new Graphics card came, bad news, it won't fit.
Forgot my Desktop is a compact model, so uses smaller special cards for the PCI slots, and it looks like the slot isn't correct anyway.

A bit disappointing, but that's the way it goes.

Mind you, I can't talk. I did exactly the same a few years ago. I bought a graphics card for my Shuttle desktop, which has a small form factor, and the card was just too wide, because it had a large passive heatsink on it.
I bought it on ebay, and I had to sell it on at a loss.
I presume you can send it back and get another one without losing any money?

I should think the slot will be OK. Any computer less than about 5 years old will have a PCI-Express slot for the graphics card. You'll need to do a bit of googling to make sure.

Was a bit grey and drizzly this morning, but turned into a fine day and evening.
Did some grass cutting, some hedge cutting and some strimming.

My opinions of BB are changing every day.
I think Corin is my favourite at the mo. Not the fake tan look, but she seems like a nice sunny girl underneath.

I've hardly been watching any Live Feed, so it's a good job I got it for free, or I'd be complaining about not getting my money's worth.

I don't think this PCI slot is PCI-Express, the card is too long & too deep for the case, was going to try and get one from the Dell site but couldn't see any Graphics cards anywhere.
Might have to get another Computer with a better Graphics card.
Can't really send the card back when there isn't anything wrong with it.

Corin seems Ok, but the voice might get me down.
Still think they are all nice.

If you bought the card over the internet, then the Distance Selling Regulations provide for a cooling off period of 7 days, within which you can return the goods for any reason.

I suppose that it's possible that your computer doesn't have a slot for the graphics card? You'd have to tell me what it was so I could look it up.
You can buy graphics cards that just fit in a normal PCI slot, but they are getting hard to come by nowadays.

Here's one on Amazon that might fit your bill.

It's half height (comes with a low profile bracket kit), and PCI rather than PCI-e.
(might still be too long for your case though?)
However it's more expensive and less powerful than the one you originally bought, but might be your only option if you really do only have a PCI slot.
Make certain before you buy.

I like Corin too, she seems such a happy go lucky type.   And so is Josie too, I also really like her, she is having such fun in the house. I still like Sunshine, and I also like JJ and Ben. Still not keen on hat boy and hat girl though. They seem such a miserable pair. He goes on and on whinging (luckily if you haven't watched livefeed, you will of missed this), and hat girl irritated me with her stropping last night, and her constant use of foul language is also annoying, I think maybe she does that to cover up the fact she if from a posh background. (I noticed the upper crust accent under all the swearing), 
But so far, I think this is being a good series of BB, with an interesting mix of HM's.

I am looking forward to seeing how the Power of Veto works on UK tv. I used to love this on the US series.

Me and OH went to Homebase to get some more plants and a couple more of the wooden type planters to put them in, last night, We can't do much in this rented garden, but at least we can do our own in the planters and pots to brighten up the garden.

A combination of equipment woes, and also taking some time off in the mornings to help with this campaign for Aisleyne (havnae had any wages off her yet. )

The drive broke on the mower again, so i had to spend a time fixing it again.

Do you mean this twist where one of the three up wins a challenge and gets to choose someone else to take their place?

I see Dave won the challenge and chose Rachel, so it's now Sunshine, Shabby and Rachel up.
I was hoping Govan would be up. Not sure who I would choose out of that three, so I probably won't vote.

Had a hat to Dell on the Puter, will ring them tomorrow or Thursday about the card, that one you showed me on the link looks ok, but there is 3 separate pin sections with the connections and the slots on normal PCI only have 2 so it doesn't make sense.

I'll ring the dell tech support, I was looking at a Radeon HD 4350 - PCI e 2.0 x 16.

I've had to reorder a battery for the new Strimmer, the spare one I ordered from a company they said not in stock, sent money back to card, got another one coming from the US now, that's if they have one.

Been doing more in the garden, cut the grass anyway, gave some old compost to a neighbour, she is having a couple more raised veg beds, she has a lot of plants and veg growing now all ready.

Work tomorrow.
Haven't really seen any BB today, had to go to town to get measured for the wedding suit, next is the fitting at the end of July.

It doesn't matter about the extra notch on the PCI card, it just shows that it can accept 3.3 or 5volts.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conventional_PCI

However, it seems you've now decided the computer does have a PCI-express slot, judging by the card you were looking at? So there would be no point getting a PCI only card.

That's a pity about the strimmer battery. Hope you get the one from the States.

The PCI slot as shown on that link is the conventional one I have.
I'l check with the tech guys at Dell to see what's the card I need for the monitor.

What does the PCI Express slot look like then, I thought it had an extra section to put the last section of the card pins into, which I don't have.

I'm only hiring the suit, but they alter them to your needs.

Hoping this battery comes from the states OK, it's only a compatable one, it's not that desperate, I could do without, but better with a spare, I could lend it to my lad and just put the charged battery on for him.

This Live Feed of BB is hammering my monthly 10GB limit, not sure how much the feed is but I am using over 1GB a day with everything on, twitter uses a bit as well because it's a constand download of messages.

Liking all the HM's really, not too keen on Dave and Govan, always like the girls, Shabby is a strange one isn't she?

Yes, the Live Feed will be using up bandwidth, if you've got a limited usage account.
Luckily, I've now got an unlimited one, although I haven't got the LF on very much anyway.
Also, I find the CPU usage goes up to 80%+ when I've got the live feed on.

Ah, I misunderstood about the suit. I thought you were getting a bespoke one made. Hiring is probably more sensible, if it's not one you'd wear again.  

The only HM I could say that I actively dislike is Govan, but even then, he is probably only being himself. Bitching just comes naturally to him.

Shabby? On the one hand she is obviously intelligent and confident, but she's deliberately acting up for the cameras, and has got herself into the bitchy gang.

It was sunny earlier, but is now grey and cloudy.

That card you pointed out would most probably do, but I'll see what Dell say incase there is a problem with the slot ot motherboard, compatibility has always been a problem.


Checked the CPU usage at work with the live feed, it went up 14% from what it was without.

If yours goes up 80% then maybe the CPU is a slow one if the live feed is taking up all it's processing power, shouldn't be doing that.

Can't understand Shabby as well, whats with the Hats, strange girl.

Doggie liked her early morning walk, then I had to go to tescos to do all my weekly shop because I was so low on food, and hadn't got round to ordering a shop.

But why on earth Dave chose Rachel, and not that argumentive Gavon, heaven knows?    All I can think of is that as several HM's, and even BBLB commentators have said, is that Rachel does have this superior air. But I so hope hat girl goes. I saw her on livefeed yesterday, and she had a hissy fit because they had dared to nominate her, she ranted for ages at Ben, because he had nominated her.  Stupid girl, pretends to be so cool, but is just so childish. Nominating is the name of the game. At least Sunshine took it really well. I hope moany Sabby goes.

I never thought of the livefeed hammering our limit thingie on the net, so thanks for telling us about that. I had better remember to turn livefeed off when I am not looking at it, because the kids use lots of that with stuff they watch, and OH often has to pay top up fees when we get cut off the net. So I am glad you told me about that. Does your internet switch off too, when you get to the limit Hicky?

Watching live feed now, but they only won £50 towards this weeks shopping, it was Ben and Sunshine who had to answer the quiz thingy, crazy.

You probably don't need a spare battery, it's just down as a battery for a power tool, but I like to have one charged while i'm using the other, there's a lot to strim im my garden if you let the garden grow wild.

You might have a no limit broadband Mollie, mine is a 10GB limit and I get charged a £1 for every Gig I go over, I'l be over now because the live feed is like having a constant download on while you are watching it.

My Internet doesn't go off, you just pay extra for using it, it's like extra baggage weight when you are flying.

I get a fitting for the suit at the end of July, the Wedding is early August, It will be Local, it's not far from where they are living now.

Not sure why the live feed uses so much of the CPU?
It might be Flash issues, or it might be the CPU isn't high spec. Although I only built the computer 2 ½ years ago, I used budget components, including a second hand CPU. It's a Pentium 4 3GHz, so only single core.
Having said that it usually copes with most video OK?

I've also been having some problems with Windows Media Player not responding recently. Perhaps I'm going to have computer problems?

After saying at the begining that Ben's voice annoyed me, I think he's now one of my favourites, along with Corin.

Yes I asked OH and he said we do have a broadband with a limit, so that is why it just switches off the internet sometimes, and won't go on until he has paid them some more with his card. Hope I dont use it all up before the end of the month, because I do like to watch livefeed when I get chance to sit down.
I wonder if the HM's can add some more to their shopping money today, because they have said they have a task today. Hope it is interesting.

Rang tell tech line, sorted a graphics card out that will do the job, £51.49 all in.
Ordered now anyway.

Think they are waiting for the next stage of the task.

Just bought a bag full of chocy, it will last a while, any have a few nibbles now and again.
