Good morning everyone

Dry here today which is just as well as it's St Swithin's Day

Skylark, maybe one of the ds in Eddie could be omitted, then you would get Edie (short for Edith)

The Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams was the Archbishop of Wales before he moved to Canterbury. The present Archbishop of Wales is Barry Morgan. Barry Morgan is a close friend of the man who used to be the vicar at our church until he retired. As a result Barry Morgan did come to our church several times over the years so at least I have met an Archbishop.

El Loro
Good morning it's a lovely sunny day here, this mornings walk with bramble was lovely. We bumped into a neighbour dog, a big bullmastiff, so we let the dogs loose & they had a great time playing (bramble is not scared of big dogs) although the chap is fine to talk to, we've long suspected he doesn't clean up after his dog. This was confirmed earlier when the dog did its business and he pretended to have forgotten his bags because they were in his other coat- I've only ever seen him wearing the one coat I had several in my pocket (can never have enough IMO) so I gave him some bags and he had to pick up the mess, twice

Summer, I'm sorry to hear you are feeling under the weather

I think anyone who trains their dog to fight other dogs (which of course is illegal and has been for many many years) should be banned from keeping any animals for life besides receiving a prison sentence.

Baptisms at church this morning. Lots of people there for the 3 people being baptised. One was a baby, one was a young girl around 5 or 6, and one was an adult probably the girl's mother. As the girl and the mother could speak for themselves they were asked by the vicar "Do you wish to be baptised?". Firstly the mother replied with the correct words "I do". Then the young girl was asked and she replied "Lots and lots"

El Loro

Good afternoon all. Weather has been cloudy with little burst of sunshine. Quite breezy too.

El, I love when children come out with something totally unscripted, like "lots and lots".

Summer, well done for giving the bags to the dog owner. Hope you are feeling a bit better.

Keira never "goes" when she is on lead, so I don't really need to carry bags, but I still keep bags in my pockets - just in case!

Poor Kia being afraid of the fly. Reminded me of the day my youngest (then aged three) started screaming in the bathroom, because there was a bluebottle in there. He's much braver now.

Squiggle, you are so right about staffies, they are lovely dogs but the breed has been hijacked by idiots and now gets a bad rep.

Lots of rain again, and more expected all week.  Still a bit on the chilly side too.

Summer hope you are feeling much brighter today, this weather is not doing anyone any favours, a friend of mine has just gone down with a chest infection, we should be experiencing some bright dry weather and some sun to fill us full of Vitamin D instead all we get is rain.

Good almost noon everyone thank you, yes I am feeling better than I did yesterday, the lazy day seems to have really helped I can't believe how much I slept! Luckily for me, Monday's are usually just steady instead of heaving. It started out very sunny here but by 8am it had clouded over and it's now raining, again What are everyone's plans this week?

Summer, I'm glad you are feeling better today and I like your photo of funny face

Skylark, while you are in Paris on Wednesday, could you pop in at the Louvre and bring back the Mona Lisa for me as a souvenir

I've seen Ratatouille as well and thoroughly enjoyed it. Peter O'Toole voices Anton Ego the food critic and is great. Sad to hear that he has announced he is retiring from stage and screen.

El Loro

Clip from the classic Ealing comedy The Lavender Hill Mob. Crooks have stolen gold bars, melted them down and made model Eiffel Towers out of the gold. Unfortunately for them the wrong crate with these were sent to Paris in place of the ordinary models, so the crooks go over to Paris to recover them.

Very funny clip, but if you suffer very badly from vertigo this might make you a bit giddy.
