I have had the shop bought version, it was nice...I like the baileys cream they do now for puddings too

yeah, can be a bit hard to get the consistency right though cos the alcohol stops it from setting as well... perhaps I'm putting too much alcohol

For anyone interested in the beetroot dauphinoise - I would recommend par boiling the potatoes for perhaps 5 mins - all tasted good - and you don't want to overdo the beetroot - the potatoes (although very finely sliced) had a bit too much bite IMO.

I'm used to it Slinki    I'm a bit soggy at the moment though

Granola with grapes and strawberries - a very technical dish - have to get the balance just right 

Gyps likes greek yogurt with honey and nuts and blueberries, or raspberries...and in Asda the other day there was one of them little stands with a nice laydee giving away tasters, and it was a variation on the yogurt thing, yogurt, blackberries and Asdas own cerial called "crunch" and honey and I have to say, it was VERY tasty!!

I love poached eggs!! especially on fresh baked bread with a bit of spinach**dribbles** oh, and brown sauce!

 I can look Zazz, I just can't eat.

I've never tried poached eggs with spinach. I'm sure that would be allowed - after all, spinach is veg.

I will ask him later but I do think there is a season - Maris Piper are his preferred choice for chips (we have fish and chip shops) I know he isn't always able to get them. I will find out and report back.

Re the spinach thing.... ohh its great with poached eggs. Its also great wilted in a pan then crack a couple of eggs into it and scramble them through it.  Yum

It's used as a veggie alternative to eggs Benedict, and its soooo yummy - prob not good for a diet, what with the hollandaise sauce though

No, the hollandaise sauce isn't good for the diet - but it tastes gorgeous.

Apparently there are different stages to Maris Pipers (earlys, bards etc) The Maris Piper (main crop) is what most people know/want and are available for eight or nine months of the year (just coming in apparently).

In some areas however they are available all through the year - it depends on what storage and conditions the farmers/growers have available to them.

Ahhh haaaa!! Thank you Soozy!! I will start looking out for them again now
