Someone needs to silence Trump, he's just poisoned several people in some African countries by saying that a Malaria drug (chloroquine) has been approved for use against Covid-19 - it hasn't, but because of him saying that, several people have now overdosed on said chloroquine!

I still feel that the messages about how we should ALL behave, regarding this virus, are not being delivered strongly enough. Do we need to see groups of people being marched off to prison/confinement in order to get this home to some that they are basically killing other people by their selfish and uncaring behaviour. It might make life a bit awkward for a while, but would they REALLY rather be dead!

had a sobering chat to my neighbour who runs the radiography in the big hospital....he says they are quiet at the moment waiting to see whether its going to go like Italy or less so...if the social distancing has worked. He says Boris was very late to take it seriously and we just don't know how bad its going to be for another 2 to 3 weeks. Terrible shortage of protective wear for doctors and nurses and ventilators . I'm sure you know all this but what I didn't know was that anyone presenting with lung cancer wont/cant be treated .Anyway lots of youngsters about in groups not respecting distancing at all. My son was furious when I told him because all the youngsters in SK know if they don't keep their distance what the consequences could be.Germany have banned groups of more than two people and I think that's good. They have the lowest death rate in Europe because they do mass testing. We are overrun with second homers and tourists who have come to escape the city but its wreaking havoc among the locals . I can understand why they've come but they need to respect us

I agree with all of this Amy, I hate the society we have become and not because of the virus, I've been saying it for years. We now have countless Tory voters screaming they have no income and what are the government going to do but for years they totally ignored, the poor, unemployed, disabled, zero hour contract workers, labeled them as scroungers and now they are in disbelief it has happened to them.

I really do feel sorry for everyone that are losing jobs, their companies, small businesses I really do. I feel for those who have worked hard to accomplish that and for their employees too..but everyone was warned most of us were a week away from those that were labeled scroungers that some didn't give a second thought about.

I also think the 'herd immunity' is still running in the background, otherwise we would have a complete lockdown. Yet Wandering Willie Johnson just advised it was ok to go out as long as you kept 2 metres apart...the man is a complete idiot. Those handles you're touching, those park benches you're sitting on are all bloody infected. The person you can't avoid and touch as you pass may have it...just stay in unless you really, really have to go out.

The Lake District was like a bank holiday weekend today...just eff off, we don't want you here. We have two hospitals that serve the second largest County in the UK and have been badly underfunded and neglected for 10 years...we can't cope with having you here.

I'm getting really upset over this now, not specifically about me and hubby, but the situation in general.

Statistic:-

UK 1st death 5th March 2020

UK death toll as of 22nd March 281 - only 20 days later!!!!

That's averaging over 100 deaths per day - and those b*****d selfish people are waltzing about deliberately infecting hundreds of others who might otherwise have remained unaffected!!!!!

We really DO need to round them all up and stick them in detention centres. Maybe (slim hope!) after 6 months or so of greater restricted freedom than they would have had at home, some people might get the message that this is bigger than just 'a wee bit of inconvenience'.

We are not acting quick enough, bloody bumbling and blustering is costing lives, every European Country that acted quickly and severely have shown a drop in cases the last two days

All report fewer new infections today than yesterday. Two days running where Euro countries show a drop. Exceptions; Greece, Spain, Portugal.

All eyes on Italy expected @ 5pm and we have been as slow or if not slower than Italy to react

Its an emotional rollercoaster one minute I'm thinking I ought to sort out my stuff so the kids wont have to when I die of this and the next I'm skipping about playing the stone game with my dog on the beach. This is bloody awful - every twitch and ache is the virus - i'm scared to cough

Day 9 of isolating and it's no comfort at all

The news scares me - the airports are open to anyone with no restriction.

One comfort - if you can make it past 14days in isolation and show no symptoms - then remain in isolation - you can survive.

And another thing - i managed to get a full food order for delivery for Wednesday from ASDA - utterly shocked (toilet rolls too) !!

There is a light at the end of the tunnel. South Korea has reported the lowest number of new cases in four weeks - they're virtually through it. Even in Wuhan, the virus epicentre, the lockdown is being eased. Coronavirus is beatable - but only if we do it together.

@Dame_Ann_Average

Necessity is the Mother of invention - so a vaccine will come along

I believe it will be offered like the flu vaccine - to anyone over 50 and vulnerable groups, every year.

We've managed it with other viruses - why not this one?

We have to so we will

Don't share households, how are parents going to get childminders in essential services? It's a total mess, seriously how people are not up in arms it's beyond me. I would go out just to smack him in his stupid gob it's people's lives this complete tool is playing with, pretending he is the next Churchill, doesn't work with me, he was a nasty git too.

All other countries who have put this measures in force compensated the work force before lockdown, our government hasn't for self employed and zero contracts so to them it's essential to go to work! This lockdown will not be enforced until peer pressure is applied like the rest of the make it up as you go along. shambles.

Do not be fooled, the three week supposed lockdown that isn't actually a lockdown, it gives the NHS a breather, 'herd immunity' is very much in force at the minute.

OK, final tweet tonight everyone. Have now spoken to No10 & had it confirmed that people CAN leave home to work - as long as they fully observe the 2m distancing rule. Seems to me to be in conflict with the big message. But that’s the official policy. Over & out!

Dame being angry is a big part of my day too! I have to cuddle my dog(who is getting so much emotion dumped on her poor thing )to stop me imploding .Last night I joined a distance meditation group when Boris happened to be on. I fell asleep as I haven't done it before and no one was watching I think I might have got away with it

I wake earlier every day before 5 this morning. Spent 4 fruitless hours trying to get provisions and apply for financial support. Got nowhere.....would have to drive 60 miles for a click and collect. The government verifier website crashed when I had almost finished after waiting for 2783 people before me in the queue!

So not doing any more of that today as its making me ill.

What this government has done to the NHS is criminal. almost 12 thousand NHS staff lost because of Brexit alone never mind the chronic underfunding and privatisation. Theres nowhere near enough protective gear so the doctors will catch it and be unable to help.Arggghhhh getting angry again.Off to the garden for some sunshine and gentle pruning.Hope you manage to get some rest and calm xxx

Our excuse for a leader wants to stop the quarantine and send everyone back to work. Take the losses. And there are far less beds here and ridiculously few in ICU.

For all our problems in the UK, I'm really concerned about what's happening in the US. The WHO are warning that the States is likely to soon become the centre of the epidemic.

I've been following the infection numbers in the US, and - even allowing for the controversies surrounding access to testing - they're doubling every 2-3 days. If that continues unchecked, the States will overtake both Italy and China by the weekend. The simple mathematics of exponential growth means that - in theory - it could be in the millions by the end of next week!

Trump has no interest in, or understanding of, science at the best of times, and tends to be downright hostile when it appears to be against his own interests. It's therefore little wonder that those who really do understand the situation like Dr Fauci are being side-lined.

Again, a great big virtual  to you, Roxan, and all our other friends in the States. Please stay safe.

Just to add - i had already PAID for these items

Even if you check out your basket can be 'pilfered'. what you finally get inyour delivery is what is available when your 'pickers' go around the shop and do their best to pick what you have ordered, NOT what you ordered when you compiled and checked out your online order. Also the payment is not taken from your card until it has been PHISICALLY checked out - i.e. The day of delivery.

Saint:

I've only ordered online from ASDA (and only previously on behalf of my parents), but I would expect you to receive a "Delivery Note" by email: usually sent early morning of the delivery date, after the 'pickers' EFFT refers to have picked your order. It will details any changes (including "substitutes" if you've allowed them: similar products to replace brand items that are not available), and a revised total cost.

“On hearing ill rumour that Londoners may soon be urged into their lodgings, I looked upon the street to see a gaggle of striplings making fair merry, and spreading the plague well about. Not a care had these rogues for the health of their elders!” Samuel Pepys London, 1664

350 years and we're no better disciplined - or at least Londoners (and a few others) aren't.

Extremely Fluffy Fluffy Thing

It's clear there are far too many people ignoring the social distancing request ro just don't care.

Every night this week I have passed a school play area only to observe people playing football and basketball.

Tonight I saw around 5-6 young men playing close contact basketball. No doubt sweating all over each other and hi-fiving good play.

Non essentials stay at home

Today we had the window cleaners all over our street - standing next to elderly neighbours who were doing their gardens

Zero social distancing - it's wanton defiance and all about money

Hopefully they will announce measures tomorrow so that the self employed window cleaners (and all other self employed people) are not faced with the choice of carrying on working and possibly infecting themselves and others, or starving.
