Hi Baz.

I daren't ask, how long is terminal?

I don't know what is going on, my lad calls in every day to see what we need and help in any way.

Dont know if my lad can even get out of Oz, his flight to NZ was cancelled, so he has nowhere to live from tomorrow.

Awwww My husband actually asked himself , I don’t think I could have either tbh . How is Mrs H holding up ?

Baz

Hicky

I am so very sorry to hear about MrsH.

As you say, all you can do is to take things one day at a time.

I am so glad your son is calling in to help you both each day.

What a shame your son's flight was cancelled. Why was that? Will he be able to get another one soon? Try not to worry too much about your son in Oz, as he is near Sydney, they should be able to have a choice of plenty of places to stay.

Thinking of you.

hope you slept ok and had a good day.

Tv not good again tonight, goodness, where are they getting all this constant football from?

Hicky

I feel for you today, a horrible time for you and MrsH.

If you want to chat, you have my whatsap/text number, or as Baz says you can chat about things in private on a PM she could set up.

But if you dont' feel like chatting here, we understand, but will be thinking about you and MrsH.

Hope you are getting stronger after your recent awful experience in hospital.

Went to my disabled friends house today , as MrM had more to do in her garden to help her.

Nice day, as sunny but not too hot.

Daughter having an off day today, the long term antibiotics plus the Crohns making her feel nauseous, so no food at all again, and just dozing all day.

Bought some wirless headphones in the amazone sale, so I could listen to music whilst footie is on.

Goodnight both xxx

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky , Mollie , we’ve *spoken* ….but I hope your day is going ok . Hicky , I’m  really sorry you are poorly again ….I hope you get well soon and home ASAP .

We had some rain at last Not a lot , but it’s a start . I didn’t go for a walk today , so I did the duvet wrestle , two loads of washing , cleaned bathroom and kitchen , and fed the birds . My gardener came today , so my lawns are neat again .

Baz

Baz

sounds like you have kept yourself busy despite no walk today.

Let's hope poor Hicky is back home before too long.

We too had a bit of rain but not much. It was muggy earler in the day, but has cooled down now thankfully.

Daughter had been unable to eat the last 2 days, and has stayed in bed, but was feeling better today, which is good as its her birthday and she managed to come out for a pub meal with us. She could only manage part of the meal but bought the rest home in a contanier they gave her. I had delicous vegan cottage pie with new potatoes and peas.

So glad you told me about the Hotel Inspector thread, as I should be albe to join you tonight.

Get well soon HIcky.

Awwww belated happy birthday to your daughter Mollie .I’m glad she felt a bit better and was able to eat something . It was great that you could join us for Hotel Inspector last night , I hope you enjoyed the thread .It’s Gogglebox at 9 tonight , so if you feel like joining Ros and I you will be very welcome .

Hicky , I hope you are on the mend now , and will soon be home again with Mrs H . You are in my thoughts .

I slept quite well last night , but I didn’t have a very good start to my day .However , I had to take something to the mail box ….which is 1k from my house , so I put on my raincoat …just in case ….and ended up making the most of it , doing just over a 4K walk in the end .Aside from that , I’ve cleaned kitchen , dusted , washed , fed the birds and , between the showers , I’ve done a little bit of pruning in the garden . I had a couple of lamb chops for lunch , and that’s me done for the day ! Whatever you are up to , take care , and stay safe .

I certainly did enjoy the Hotel Inspector thread. It made watching the show so much more interesting.

Thanks for the  Gogglebox invite, I will enjoy joining you if I watch it live (not sure if I can yet).

That is good you slept quite well last night. I see you have done well on the walking and house jobs front.

I went to asda for a few groceries today, whilst my excited son went to collect this Playstation 5 that he has waited an age to get hold of. He deserves a bit of relaxation now after all the studying he has done. He is also due some money back from Uni because of covid, so that will go towards his PS fund.

I texted Hicky your message, he said he is still fighting the infection and is missing us. Poor fella.

Let's hope they stabalise the infection soon and he can come home.

Daughter fancied some KFC for tea, so she bought me a no chicken burger and mash, very nice it was. Oddly she can eat KFC chicken but there is a lot of veg she can't cope with.

Nearly time to watch Corrie.

Goodnight Baz.

M

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky   The weather is quite good here today , and I didn’t have a bad night , so I went out for my walk this morning ….but only did 3.5k cos I was a bit late starting out , and my M&S delivery was due . Aside from that , I’ve not done a lot ….I had no washing .So I’ve just cleaned the kitchen , done a bit in the garden , some ironing , and had some nice pork steaks for lunch .

Hicky , I hope you are feeling a bit better today ….that that they are looking after you well, and that you will soon be home  .

Mollie , it was fun sharing Gogglebox with you last night …a right giggle .I’m glad your daughter enjoyed her KFC . My ibs is a bit like that , I have to really check out the list of ingredients in stuff….I can’t have anything with onions or garlic in ….and you’d be amazed what foods include those! Anyway , I’m sure as time goes on she will work out what she can and can’t eat Well , not a lot on tv tonight , but I hope you have a good evening whatever you are up to .

Baz

Baz

glad you slept ok and managed a walk today (and your usual jobs of course!).

Yes forum Gogglebox was fun last night...  but I think you two are going to be a bad influence on me.

You are right I think it will take a long time for daughter to find out what foods suit her. She is one of her "not eat a thing" days today. She seems to get a couple of days like that ,when she needs to sleep. I expect none of it will make sense until she finishes these antibiotics and goes onto get meds for the condition.

A lovely day here too weather wise. Sat in garden on swingchair and did a Sudiku puzzle, they take me ages as i am not too good at them. Had pizza and new potatoes for tea, cooked my son.

Nothing to watch on tv tonight, so think I will watch some more of The Crown on Netflix.

I texted HIcky and he said he is missing us, and is still on antibiotics for his chest infection. Hope they help sort him out soon, so he can get home to MrsH.

Have a good evening Baz.

Us , lead you astray …never . I think your daughter will feel better once they get her on the right meds Mollie ….but it might take a little while . My daughter was on 2 or 3 before she found one that suited her . I’m sure Hicky ….and Mrs H ….are thoroughly fed up .Just when they needed to spend time together , they are separated .But hopefully he will be home soon . …and send him my love next time you text .

Not a good day chez Baz , but I did makes myself go on a walk ….and managed four and a half kms ….and it definitely helps a bit . The weather is overcast , but not too cold ….although I do have a jumper on . Apart from that I’ve tried to keep busy , so  I changed the sheets and pillowcases  , done a load of washing , cleaned kitchen and bathroom, fed birds , emptied the bins ,  and am just waiting for my lamb chops to cook .After lunch I have to iron the sheets ….then that’s me done for the day .I hope you are having a more relaxing day than me .

I think I will be watching Dick and Angel Chateau Make or Mend on C4 Seven at 8 ….but hope you have a good evening , and whatever you are watching , take care .

Baz

Baz

sorry it is not such a good day for you today. Glad you managed a walk out though, they do reckon walking is very good for you. We too went a walk and took a couple of apples for the horses. The poor timid white one missed out again though, the greedy horses always beat him.Poor fella. It was hot and muggy first thing, but has cooled down thankfully now and is raining on and off.

i see you have done your usual mountain of house jobs, you do make me feel lazy, I never iron the sheets.

I am watching Antiques Roadshow, can't find a lot else to watch again.

I had a text off HIcky and he says "he is very well indeed" and just waiting to finish the antibiotics, so lets hope he is home soon.

Thanks for telling me about your daughter and the meds, best for us to be prepared incase it takes a few goes to get the meds right. We have started off with a long wait due to this antibiotic course being a whole 3 months. But she is nearly half way through it now, which is good.

Have a good evening, let's hope we hear Hicky can come home tomorrow. Will let you know if I hear anything.

Hicky texted me to say he is coming home today. Hooray! He might even be back by now.

I expect he will be tired out after another spell in hospital, but so relieved to be back with MrsH. Hopefully he can rest whilst watching his fave Love Island.

Hope you slept ok and are having a good day.

A bit showery here today but don't mind as I prefer it to being too hot and I managed to go on the swingchair inbetween the showers as it was quite warm. Read my book and did a Suduko puzzle.

I had a brie/cranberry wrap for tea and salad.

See you on the Bake Off forum soon. xxx

That’s fantastic news Mollie I’m sure he will just be happy to be back with Mrs H , bless him .

I’ve had quite a busy day …started with an early phone call back from the nurse at my doc surgery ….women’s problems …..then insurance plumber came and fixed the flush on my loo ….then I went for a short walk , before coming back and sorting a lot of bureaucratic stuff . Later this afternoon I had another plumber come to try and fix my loo seat . I hope your day has gone well , it was very muggy here too . Anyway , I must dash back to Bake Off ….so see you there .

Evening Mollie & Baz.

Just a quick hello and thank you all.

I waited 5 hours or more to get my release papers, meds and transport.

On my papers it said i went in A&E with Pneumonia i didn't even know.

I will just carry on trying to recover, hospital life is very trying.

Hope your daughter is recovering, Mollie.

I am so sleep-deprived again, crazy.

HickyyyyyyyyyyyyWelcome home …..I’m sure you will sleep better now you are home . I had to wait ages for my release papers too ….especially as they didn’t want me to go .In the end , two friends who are both nurses, broke me out .Anyway , I hope you get a decent nights rest tonight ….and it goes without saying , we are glad you are home.

Baz

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  I slept quite  well last night , but feel very weary today, so I’ve not done a lot . I didn’t feel up to  going for a walk , I’ve only done a small load of washing , a bit of dusting , cleaned kitchen , dealt with the shopping delivery , and swept the patio. I hope both your day’s going better than mine .

Baz

Hi Mollie & Baz.

I slept ok, up a few times, very weak, can't walk far but should improve, not much appetite.

Mrs H had visitors, her sister comes every day i think, her brother popped in and her mother, we have more visitors at teatime, grandchildren.

Glad you slept ok, just watching the 1st LI show recorded, i have them all writen down in pairs.

Mrs H resting, she does far too much, i don't suppose the Morphine helps.

Hicky

Hicky

so glad to see you back on here again. Yes I am sure you are feeling very weak after having pneumonia. Takes a long time to get over that, especially in addition to your recent kidney problems. Are you still on antibiotics and needing your inhaler?

Glad you slept ok, yes hospitals are very tiring places, it must have been so good to be back in your own bed last night.

Hope you get your appetite back soon, especially as  I know you usually enjoy your food, and hope you get strong enough soon to get back in your garden.

5 hours to get you sorted and home from hospital is a lot of waiting around.

I hope you enjoy watching  Love Island. At least it gives you sometihng nice to watch now you are home.

Glad to see you and MrsH have visitors coming. Make sure you both ask them for help if you need anything. MrsH is bound to be exhausted if she is on morphine. HOpe the morphine is helping controll her pain.

Baz

glad you had a reasonable sleep last night, hope you do again tonight.

Sounds to me you still did a lot today even though you felt tired.  HOpe you don't feel so tired tomorrow and have a better day.

My friend came over and I gave her brekkie in the garden, her fave cheese and tomatoes on toast and a coffee. She bought her 16 month old grandson too, He was happy playing with the stones and pegs for a couple of hours in the garden.

A lovely day here today, not too hot, but it did reach 24c. Bit of cloud too which was good as it cooled it down a little.

Had new potatoes in herby butter and salad for tea, very nice, then a caramel choccy ice lolly for afters.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Overcast this morning , but the sun is peeking through now ….which sums up my mood . I slept quite well , but was feeling very down first thing ….then I had a lovely text from an FM , which bucked me up no end ….so thanks Ros .So I got my rear in gear,  went for a 3 k walk , cleaned kitchen , did some washing , and put out a couple of feelers about having an outside tap put in the back garden , to save me having to hump around watering cans etc ….once again , thanks for the idea Ros . Aside from that , I’ve just had some yummy lamb chops and new potatoes for lunch . I hope your day is going well , whatever you are up to .

Mollie , how lovely that your friend came over …breakfast in the garden sounds lovely .My oldest granddaughter used to love playing with pegs and things .Don’t forget it’s Hotel Inspector tonight ….if you fancy joining us in the thread .Hicky , I’m sure it will take a little time fir your body to get back to normal ….it’s taken quite a beating . Yes , the morphine will make Mrs H sleepy ….I was lucky , Mr B never needed it for his lung cancer until near the end ….so he was quite alert . I hope you are enjoying LI .

Well I hope you both have a good evening , and take care .

Baz

Evening Mollie & Baz.

Not eating a lot yet, my lad brought me some bacon and sausage from a takeaway place, been getting the Ensure drink on prescription.

Ankles swelling a bit which has been reported.

Had another good sleep last night.

Ive watched 1st show of LI i cant stay up to watch at 9pm anyway, too tired.

I dont think the morphine is for pain, it helps her breathing.

Mrs H had more visitors, but it wears her out, and she has to go and rest to recover, similar to me, if i do anything i have to sit and take inhaler, what a pair.

Tired again, my lad & family in Oz still don't have to OK to come to the UK yet.

Glad you slept ok, shame you fel down this morning, but aaww its so nice that lovely Ros cheered you up and improved your day witha nice text. A good idea or Ros's to put an outdoor tap in, that will certainly make things easier for you in the garden.

Thanks for the HOtel Inspector reminder, hope to see you in the thread. I will watch Supervet first.

That's funny your grandaughter was a peg fan too. They are so easy to entertain with bits and pieces at that age.

Hicky

that's good you are getting the special energy drinks on prescription. They are usefull until to help make up for the vitimins you need after being so poorly. Hope your appetite stars to come back soon and the swelling in your ankles goes down. Glad you are sleeping well. Yes I can understand that you and MrsH tire easily right now.

HOpe your son gets the ok to come here to see you soon. Is he planning on coming on his own or with the family?

How are your eyes now? I know you said you found it hard to see anything in hospital, is it easier at home?

Went to Lidl to shop today, am eating a choccie ice cream popcorn lolly now, Very nice.

Nice day again, bit cool in the breeze but I did sit out and do my puzzle and read a magazine.

Had pizza and Jersey potatoes for tea with salad.

Tv time now.

Evening Mollie & Baz.

I was in bed 12 hours, up for wee every few hours.

Mrs H getting Chemo today, just now, one of my lads is looking after us when he can, her Sis is coming tonight to be with her.

Going to get some Lucasade and energy bars, no appetite, think its the worry, of how am i going to manage.

My Lad an family had to move into a hotel suit for now, he's still waiting for the ok, when he gets the ok they are all coming over here.

I can see better at home because of the lighting, also my computer is set up so i can see it, all writing on a black background.

Think it will be an early night again, only seen the first show of LI, as long as its recorded.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  It was drizzly here this morning, when I went for my walk  β€¦.but now it’s bright sunshine I didn’t have a bad nights sleep ….but not really done a lot today , just the usual washing and kitchen cleaning , watered pots and fed birds . Pork steaks for lunch , and that’s me done for the day .

Mollie , I hope you’ve had a good day today . The Hotel Inspector was fun last night ….I hope you can make it for Gogglebox tonight . How is your daughter doing ….is she any better?

Baz

yes Hotel Inspector was real fun last night. HOpefully I will make it for Gogglebox tonight.

Glad you had a good nights sleep, pity you caught for the drizzle on your walk. Luckily we had no rain, quite warm with sun and cloud, so managed to go on the swingchair with my puzzle book. Felt too lazy to go for a walk or on the rower today.

Daughter not too bad today, at least she ate something, but feels too tired so far to come downstairs. Hopefully she will just come and see her bunny later. Its just a waiting game now till she ifnishes the antibiotics and gets more tests done and see the consultants in August, who will then sort out her treatment.

Hicky

yes best to rest in bed to help recuperate. I too am not surprised you are off your food, with not only the worry of MrsH but also the 2 hospital stays you had to have. I too hope she does not get too many chemo side effects. Glad to hear your son and her sister plan to be around to help you both.

I am glad to hear your son is coming over to the UK with the family. Let's hope it doesn't take too long to sort their journey out.

Good, I was hoping your eyesite would imroved once you got away from the hospital lighting and back to your own computer that is set up to enable you to see . So horrible for you with bad eyesite in hospital.

Had Jersey potatoes and salad for tea and some left over pizza.

hope you both slept well last night and have had a good day.

Hicky, hope your strength is improving. Any news on your son coming back here from Oz? Hope you and MrsH have had some visitors to lend you both a hand again.

Baz

I expect you have been dashing around doing your jobs as usual.

Awful tv again tonight....football on 2 sides, Wimbledon on one, then just Royal history on another channel.

Went to costco today for a bit of shopping, but I find it just exhausting, so think I will leave MrM and son to go without me next time! It was busy there too, being a Saturday.

Bit cool and drizzly here today.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky Well I wanted rain , and I certainly got it this morning .It’s sunny at the moment , but according to the weather forecast there is more rain to come ….so no walk for me today . I didn’t sleep too badly last night , but I can’t say I’ve done a lot today ….just changed sheets , washed , ironed , fed birds and did a bit of pruning cos the vine has gone mad the last couple of days .I hope you are both having a relaxing Sunday .

Mollie , I’m with you about all the sport on the TV !Mind you , I quite enjoy the Olympics , which starts in a couple of weeks .How is your daughter doing this weekend ? She should get some more answers once she has had the colonoscopy .Hicky , I hope you and Mrs H are managing to get some rest and that your son and his family can get over here soon .

Well , it’s another lousy nights viewing , but I’m sure I’ll find something to watch .Have a good evening both , and take care .

Baz

Baz

glad you slept ok , sounds like you have been busy too , despite the lack of a walk.

We had rain on and off today, tried to sit on the swingchair 3 times and had to come in each time it rained. But we did manage a walk inbetween the showers though.

Are you getting a lot of birds feeding now? We got hardly any when we did the survey, (typical!) but now we are getting loads. Our estate (and our bird table and roof!) appears to have a huge flock of crows (with young ones) who are very noisy especially at 6am in the mornings! We also have lots of sparrows with their young coming to the bird table too.

I am not keen on the sport in the olympics but do tend to watch the Opening/clsoing ceremony.

Daughter hasn't been out this weekend, only popped down to cuddle her rabbit for a few mins today, then went back to bed as she felt nauseous. Poor thing. Not eaten much either. Yes we just have to wait now until she has the test and sees the counsutants.

I found what looks like an amusing film called "Yeterday" on bbc1 now, so at least I have something to watch. Hope you found something too.

I texted Hicky to see if he was ok. He said he is still off his food and very tired so is going to bed at about 6pm so didn't post yesterday. His son has come from Cornwall to visit for a few days. They went for a llittle ride to the coast and he manged to eat a small ice cream. He is so pleased that his Oz son and family are going to rent a house just across the road when they get back from Oz, so he said it will be lovely to see them and the kiddies. He said his son's wife is lovely and looked after him so well when he was not well in Oz, so that should be a good help to him and MrsH. He said they have to try and sort furniture out for them, so I expect he will be busy helping sorting the deliveries out.

Hope you sleep ok tonight Baz.

Goodnight. xxx

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  I had a terrible night …only had about an hours sleep. But I have been quite busy today . It’s going to be wet for the next couple of days , so I did a 4K walk before breakfast . It was nice to get some fresh air . Aside from that , I’ve done the duvet salsa , two loads of washing and ironing , dusted , tidied up in the garden,  (cos it’s garden waste and recycling bin collection tomorrow ) , and had some yummy M&S bacon chops for lunch. Just the bins to put out , and that’s me done for the day .I hope your day is going well .

Hicky , I’m not surprised you aren’t feeling like eating , your body has taken a huge physical and emotional battering over the last few weeks .But hopefully having your sons with you will help . How is Mrs H holding up ? Anyway , Just take things slowly ,and be kind to yourself .

Mollie, I’m sorry your daughter is still feeling so poorly ….Yogi isn’t well either ….bliddy disease I had hardly any birds on the day of the bird count as well ….now I am inundated with them ! I don’t know if you are interested , but Ros and I watch Devon and Cornwall at 8 tonight , if you want to join us .

But whatever you are both up to tonight , take care , and stay safe .

hope the lucazade and energy bars help to get your energy back a little and you get your appetite back soon. Such a shame you don't even enjoy your fish now, I know you used to love your fish. The Ensure might not be much fun to take but at least it is full of vitamins for you.

HOpe the plans are going ok for your son and family to come over from Oz.

Has your other son gone back to Cornwall now?

Is MrsH managing to eat ok?

Baz

oh dear, sorry you had such a sleepless night. Hope you sleep better tonight.

You certainly did well going for a such a long walk, even before brekkie though.

Sorry to hear poor Yogi is still unwell, hope she improves soon.

Daughter had another day in bed today, but did manage a bit of rice crispies and milk today.

Thanks for the devon/Cornwall info, but I am watching James Martin in Cornwall. Typical both programmes are on the same time! Look forward to seeing you at the forum for Bake Off though.

Cloud and rain on and off today. But did manage to sit on my swingchair for a little while inbetween the showers.

Did 6 and half mins on the rower, so was too tired to go out for a walk.

Had some camabert bites with veg for tea.

Think I will watch A and E tonight.

Cool and windy today here, and a bit of drizzle. more like autumn than mid summer.

We went for a walk down the lane. There are lots of flowers on the blackberries this year, so looks like there will be a lot of fruit this autumn.

I did manage to sit on the swingchair for a short time (with my coat on), and do one of my puzzles and phone my aunt, but my hands were freezing, so I came indoors.

Hope you slept ok Baz.

see you on the forum for Bake Off.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  I slept quite well last night ….and have had quite a good day so far .The new plumber (a lovely young lad) came….fully masked …. and I now have a fully functioning loo seat…at a price that wouldn’t have had Mr B turning in his proverbial! . It’s not quite as posh as the one I broke , but that’s fine . They are coming back tomorrow to install an outside tap …..so that will be another job sorted . I had to move the outside storage unit , which was up against the outside kitchen wall ….in case they needed to look at it …..and it’s a darn good job I did it before they got here cos there were dozens of slugs underneath it . Aside from that , I’ve done a small load of washing , hoovered and cleaned kitchen and bathroom …..so quite a productive day chez Baz .Needless to say I never went for a walk .

Hicky , I’m sorry to hear Mrs H is suffering so much ….….. ….is it the chemo that’s doing it ? I’m glad you are getting plenty of rest though ….but I’m not surprised you have no appetite ….I hope the lucozade is helping a bit ….just eat little and often , if you can . Mollie , Bake Off was fun last night, wasn’t it  . I hope you daughter is feeling a little better today . How long until the colonoscopy ? What sort of puzzles do you do ?

Well I’m going to watch the Hampton Court RH Garden Show tonight ….cos there is not much else on .Have a good evening both ….take care .

Baz

Baz

that's good you slept ok last night, so had a better day and glad to hear your young man came to sort your job out, it will be very handy when you get that outside tap sorted.

Yuck, slugs, can't stand them! No wonder you didn't go a walk after doing all those jobs.

Yes Bake Off final over at the Chez Baz forum was real fun. What a nice group they are.

I like those suduko number puzzles, I was really slow at first at doing them but my methodology has improved, so I am a bit quicker now. I am useless at crosswords though, I prefer numbers to words, but I do also like the word search puzzles.

It ended up being a nice sunny day today, so my friend came over for lunch and I did her fave cheese and tomatoes on toast for her. It was perfect for sitting in the garden for a chat as it was not too warm and not very windy like it was yesterday.

Then I went to Sainsbury for a bit of shopping. I like their fruit there. They sell the nice yellow kiwi fruit too.

I had advocado on toast for tea and some Mexican cous cous, very nice it was.

Can't find a thing to watch on tv tonight, so have let MrM watch the footie on the main tv, and I listen to some music on my lappy with my new wireless headphones I bought in the Prime Sale.

Aaaww no Hicky today, poor fella is strugging after his illnesses and worry over MrsH. Bless him.

If you read this HIcky, we are thinking of you.

Evening Mollie and Hicky  Bad night for me ….but went out for a walk this morning …and plumber has been a installed an outside tap . It’s very posh , and it’s  got an isolator thing on it , so I can turn it off once the cold weather arrives . Apart from that I’ve not done very much , apart from disinfecting the kitchen once he had gone . Oh , and I managed to burn my bliddy potatoes (and the pan) cos I forgot to put any water in them .Cue galloping senility !

Mollie , glad you enjoyed the Hotel inspector ….but for  the record , it’s Dames credit card that the champers is going on .I hope you….and your daughter  had a good day .Hicky , I hope you and Mrs H are doing as well as can be expected

Night night both , I hope everyone sleeps well
