Evening Emptybox.

We had more rain, my back garden, and front has water showing.

Of course with clay underneath there's nowhere for the water to go.

A good helping hand has many uses, some can lift 1kg, of course it depends on the shape.

My last ones, the ones i used for the bonfires did an awful lot of work, lift branches and logs into the fire, of course they gave up in the end.

I enjoyed that gardening program, got lots of tips / idea's for my own use.

Hope your cough calms down and lets you sleep ok.

I did the conversion of the accounts program at work, my understudy was writing down what we were doing.

She is going to be entering the data, orders, invoices, payments and i do have some checking formula's to try and point out if an error has been made in entering the info.

I may need to go back at the end of the month unless my understudy can get the vat figures to be paid to HMRC sorted and approved online.

It's only a 10 minute job, if all the figures are correct.

The Joiner came, but only to drop off some material, he's coming back Thursday.

I have to take mylad and his O/H to Liverpool in the morning at 7,30am as he has to get a train over to the south coast, they are going to a funeral.

My O/H is sorting the children and taking them to school.

My Hot water blue disk came today, tried it earlier to make a cup of tea.

Hicky

both xxx

Hicky

that is the trouble with clay isn't it, how it retains the water? Hope you can rectify it ok. And hope they pay you for your trouble when you go back, even if it is a 10 minute job. I bet your OH will enjoy looking after the kiddies and taking them to school. An early start for you though. Whereabout in the south coast are they going to?

Emptybox

sorry you still have a bad cough. Hope the medicine eases it again so you can get some sleep.

Yes I too will be glad when CBB starts, fed up of the tv shows we have right now.

Weather not been bad today, took dog a walk any way before mum came from day centre.

goodnight both xxx

M

Morning Mollie.

I'll sort the land drainage before i lay the weed control matting down, i'' be putting down lots of slate chips so don't think water will be a problem, i want lots of ground slate so it will bury water pipes.

Took them to Liverpool, picked a takeaway brekkie up from B&Q butty van on the way home.

O/H is here now with the young one.

The funeral they have gone to is in Scarborough.

Watching Trawlermen, love it.

Am recording Undercover Boss, love that.

Looking forward to CBB tonight.

Hicky

Hi guys.

Wet and windy here today.

Not feeling too bad, but cough just as bad.

Watching CBB. Not bad so far.

Not sure if you spotted Aisleyne there in the friends and family row? She's there to support her old friend Calum.

Patsy Kensit is looking good.

Hope your understudy was taking good notes Hicky, so you don't have to keep running back to bail her out.

Glad your blue disk thing came.

It must be frustrating seeing water build up in the garden, but you'll soon get that sorted, when you can get at it.

Good Morning Everyone.

A lovely sunny day here today.

Happy Thursday.

Joiner has arrived, here at 8am.

My next pack of 4 helping hands has arrived, as has my next pack of Tassimo rotary Pod holder with 4 free 375ml glasses and Latte spoons, very nice.

Had a nice bacon and egg batch, gave Joiner 1 as well.

He never turns down a snack.

He's been fitting some Architraves and a couple of skirting bits and he's putting the Cornice's etc in the kitchen.

He's also going to refit one of the swing doors again.

Will watch my last nights recordings this afternoon, can't watch them on this TV in my office at the mo as it is already recording 2 programs, Undercover Boss and Trawlermen.

Hicky

Evening All.

Joiner been here all day, done brill, still a little to do, he's reseated the double oven, reseated the built in microwave, fitted all the cornice, fitted all the kickboards, finished the skirting.

My lad fitted the new number on the front wall.

The Docs Nurse rang to see if i could go for a breathing test, i went for 14:45, passed all the tests, very good, and BP ok.

Watched CBB recordings, watched CBB tonight, recording Bots.

Hicky

Hi Hicky. Glad you had a good day.

And that a lot of your stuff arrived.

Great that the joiner got so much done.

The place will soon be completed.

Also great news that your breathing and BP are OK.

I just cannot shift this wheezy cough, and I've had it for over a week now.

A cough can be a side effect of this medication I'm on, so I might try stopping that for a few days, and see if that makes the difference. Otherwise I'll have to go back and see the doctor, because it's driving me mad.

Very windy here tonight, and I've got my bin out, so hope there's not rubbish strewn everywhere tomorrow.

Haven't got a favourite in CBB yet.

emptybox

quick post as having trouble with mum, so not getting much sleep...carer found her on floor yesterday morning so had to go and get her up, carers not allowed to!

then this morning 5.45am call centre rang and said she had set off door alarm and wasn't answering phone, got there and she was asleep in bed! don 90 miles round drive again to and from her flat today!

hope you are both well and your cough eases Emptybox.

will read back soon, nearly midnight was was woke so early this morning...

M

Evening Both.

Had a good day here.

Joiner has finished, kitchen fantastic, skirting's all done, 1st swing door rehung.

All cornice and kick boards done.

Just made a chicken roast dinner.

that wheezy cough is worrying, i'm with you in thinking it is a side effect, you should check with a pharmacist or doc first though.

Your bin could come a cropper.

Sorry to hear about your mum Mollie, there's no answer though really.

Just going to watch my recording of bots from last night.

Was talking to a next door neighbour, she has had 2 hips replaced, and another neighbour has had 2 knee's replaced., they are both fine now.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.

Glad the joiner got so much done today.

Horrible amount of wind and rain overnight. A bit calmer today, but wet all day.

Surprisingly my bin had been emptied this morning, with no sign of a mess.

Two power cuts this evening. One for half an hour, and then a longer two hour one. Really disrupted my supper, as I was trying to cook mince at the time.

The mince was cooked OK, but the veg was half raw. Had to eat it in darkness (torchlight).

Mind you, when I rang up to report it, they said it might not be on till Saturday afternoon, so I suppose i got off lightly with just a two hour cut.

Missed the start of BB, but hey-ho.

I decided to take a break from my medication to see if my cough will clear up.

If I only stop for a couple of days I won't bother telling the doctor.

It might be my imagination, but I feel a bit better tonight, but we'll see.

I should really consult the doc first as you say, but it would be next week before I could get an appointment, and I want this cough to GO.

Hope your neighbours were able to reassure you a bit about your op.

emptybox

Evening Emptybox.

Power cuts, oh dear not again, what a blow.

Looking at the forecast for far North it was frightening.

Pity your veg wasn't cooked through, mind you most can be eaten pretty raw.

BB was good tonight, i'm enjoying all of them, and the face to face noms was good after the show finished, so all in all the shows are on for 3 hours.

Don't you have a Pharmacy near you, you can talk to them, they have as good as a doctor working their full time.

You can talk to the Pharmacist like you would to a doctor.

Hicky

Been trying to get my Puter going all day.

Just a blue screen, couldn't get it to boot.

Will have to buy a spare one.

It wouldn't go into safe mode even, it wouldn't run the system to fix the damaged files.

Made a nice Lamb shoulder fillet hotpot, very nice to.

Still got to watch bots from last night.

I believe Jeremy has been asked to leave.

He frightened me, well he would have done if i was in the house.

-----------------

Just realised, i was looking for any disc's that i got with the Puter.

Just found a blank disc in an envelope, had put that in and i think thats what eventually got the computer fixed.

Have written on the disc now.

The disc name was "Repair Disc - Win 7 64 bit"

Hicky

Evening All.

Have ordered another Puter, hasn't got an OS so i ordered Win 7 Pro, but somehow i selected x32 bit by mistake, have just emailed them to get it changed to x64 bit, same price.

Ordered this, have got graphic cards here.

This Puter does strange things so will swap onto the new one, can't take a chance on this packing up.

I had got my Hudl2 out in case this wouldn't boot.

Warched BB, was shocked to see Jeremy go, didn't like him though.

Ken is not very nice either is he?

My Ankles have swollen, drinking too much, will have to cut it down.

Have ordered some slow close hinges for the wardrobes because all the kitchen is slow close and that which isn't makes a noise, i forget.

Hicky

Hi Hicky.

Glad you got your computer fixed in the end.

Probably a good idea to have a spare one, if you rely on it.

Yes you need 64bit nowadays with the amount of RAM used.

Sorry to hear about your ankles.

Watched BB. Glad Jeremy went. As you say Ken is being deliberately nasty. I think he wants out as well, but that's not the way to go about it.

Hope Mollie is OK and coping with her Mum.

I'm not very good at all again unfortunately. This wheezing cough is making me feel ill, and I'm off my food and not sleeping properly. Plus I sometimes feel dizzy and sweaty.

I'll need to go to the doctors tomorrow I think. Or maybe call him out, depending how I feel in the morning.

I drove to get my paper this morning, but I didn't feel up to going round the supermarket.

Plus we've had snow and rain and wind here.

Luckily the power has stayed on today.

evening All.

Sorry to hear your not so good Emptybox, that wheezing sure is a problem.

Yes, defo need to see the Doctor, one way of another.

Hope Mollie is managing with her Mum? no letup, thats the problem.

We have been sorting the kitchen cupboards out, trying to get the items close to where they will be used, and also considering the weight.

We have 2 cast iron casserole pots now and they sure are heavy.

The joiner built my single wardrobe unit and i am going to fit the slow close hinges when they arrive.

Went out for a roast dinner, very nice.

My lad was round this afternoon with 2 little ones, very noisy as you can imagine.

Looking forward to CBB tonight.

Hicky

both xx

Hicky

that is good you want ground slate, so the wet garden won't be a problem. That is good news you passed all the nurse's tests.

Glad to hear joiner did the work so well in the house. We should be ready for some more pics soon. Hint, hint.

That must be reassuring for you having neighbours telling you how much the ops improved their lives. When is your appointment about it?

Hope you are pleased with your new computer.

When you say your ankles are swelling from drinking too much, do you mean too much water, or coffees or anything else in specific? What a nuisance, hope it improves soon.

Emptybox

oh no, not the dreaded power cuts again. Hope this doesn't mean you are likely to get a load more of these again.

Sorry to hear about the cough. Don't blame you giving up the meds to see if it helps. A cough is awful as it is so tiring especially if it keeps you awake nights.

Hope giving up the meds knocks it on the head.

Carer found mum on the floor again yesterday morning. This time with a bump on her head, and big scratch to nose and forehead. We worked out she is getting up early and trying to dress herself, then falling. So I stayed there overnight last night, and she was ok. But all day yesterday we didn't let her sleep, and the carers gave her Red Bull and coffee when she took her tablets. But it worked. We have done the same again today, fingers crossed she stays in bed.

Just about managing to watch CBB. Really enjoying it. Pretty eventful considering it has only just started.

Watching the hotel now. Scottish night too.

And he is going for fried battered Mars bars and haggis.

I take it you are eating those tonight for tea then Emptybox?

M

took me so long to finish my post above, your 2 above posts appeared after I posted it.

Emptybox

sorry to hear you are unwell. Sounds like this recent infection combined with all the meds has lowered your resistance.   Don't hesitate to bring the doc  to you though if you don't feel up to going to the surgery. (Plus those surgeries are always full of germs!) Perhaps you should ask the chemist to recommend some vitamins? It doesn't help with the  weather being so bad, does it?

Do all Scots people also have ugly stags heads on the wall to go with their fried Mars Bars and Haggis? (like Mark in The Hotel has arranged for his Scottish night).

Hicky

good idea to sort the kitchen cupboards out for convenience.

Where did you go for your roast dinner? They have a Toby Inn by us, and it is great, all help yourself veg. I am sure you enjoyed having the youngsters over even if they were noisy. (maybe a bit tired when they left though?)

When we took mum back last night, we were struggling with her wheelchair and all her bags and my overight bags. Son took mum, daughter asked me to get last bag from boot and the wind blew boot down straight onto the bridge of my nose! OUch!!! I look awful now! It is still blood stained and swollen, and ironically I match my mum because she too had the fall to the bridge of the nose, so is all bruised there. We look dead funny together. Like we have had a fight.

Looking forward to CBB, enjoy the show both xxx

M

Hi Mollie.

Sorry your Mum hurt herself.

Sounds like it would be a lot of work to make sure she only slept at night.

Hope it continues to work.

Unfortunately stopping my meds didn't seem to do any good, as I started to feel really bad from last night, and I hadn't taken the meds for a couple of days. I took them again this morning, but feel just as bad today.

Have hardly eaten anything today.

Watched Hotel. Not sure how Mark gets away with it?

No, I definitely won't be trying deep fried Mars bars Mollie.

ETA: Oh that must have been really painful Mollie. Hope the bruising doesn't last too long.

Yes, I think my immune system can't be working properly after all the antibiotics etc, and it's let this chest infection get further than it otherwise would have done. I'm just hoping it can be sorted out at home.

Emptybox

hope you manage to get to see the doc this morning, as you know now giving up the meds have done you no good. Hopefully he will find some stronger meds to clear your chest up quickly.  Having a bad chest makes you feel so awful. Such a shame you got that cold as you were coming on well but at least you know that hospital test showed no complicated problem.

Hicky

hope the hinges come today, so you can get your wardrbobe done.

Rang mum and carer this morning and fortunately keeping her awake all day yesterday, with the help of the Red Bull and coffee, must of worked, because she was still in bed this morning when the carer got there.

My nose still looks a mess, dried blood and a bump, but at least it is not so painful now, unless I bend over.

time to do a bit of washing.

Enjoyed CBB again last night, good to have a show to look forward to each night on tv.

Hope the doc can sort you ASAP Emptybox.

Afternoon.

I actually got a reasonable night's sleep last night, and am feeling a little better, so felt I didn't need an emergency doctor's appointment. But I have made an appointment to see one of the docs on Wednesday morning. It's not my own doctor, but I'd have to wait longer if I wanted to see him.

If I feel bad tomorrow morning, the receptionist says I could ring up at 8am for an emergency appointment, but otherwise I'll see the doc on Wednesday.

Have eaten a bit today, and am going to take the chance to go in and stock up on provisions, while I'm not feeling as bad.

Still worried about this wheezy cough though, as it's been going on for nearly two weeks now.

Glad your Mum slept through again Mollie.

Hope your nose isn't too painful.

Hi Hicky. That looks a great eaterie. They seem to make a speciality of real ales, which is one of my likes (or was).

Is that the consultant about your knee that you see on the 16th?

emptybox

Oh sorry Hicky. I got your hip and knee mixed up. I remember you saying that your doc thought you had a bit more mileage left in your knees. But you get a lot of pain in your leg generally I think?

Glad your new computer has been posted.

Hope your old one is going OK now, after you used the repair disk on it?

I think Ken wanted to be the first voted out, so he could still get paid. Wonder if he gets his money now he's been chucked out?

He was skating on very thin ice anyway. Silly man.

emptybox

both

Emptybox

what a relief you are feeling a bit better now, At least you have a doc's appointment if you are not back to normal. I think the coughs this year do seem to hang on, the one I had must of lasted at least 3 weeks and my lad's still has not gone completely 4 weeks later. Tends to come back when he eats. So it might just be one of those that takes awhile to shift. Hope you feel better soon.

That is good that you felt well enough to eat a little though today.

Hicky

thanks for the pub link. What a good choice of food they have there. I fancy a couple of their starters, especially the camambert dip, or nachos.

Bet you enjoy your curry paste.

just dropped mum off, son drove, weather awful in motorway, torrential rain and 50 limit.

looking forward the CBB tonight, they are dropping down like flies.

Yes as you say Emptybox, Ken wanted to go, but bet he won't be happy if he doesn't get paid as part of being kicked out.

Have a good evening both xx

hope you sleep ok.

Good Morning Both.

Yes Emptybox, i had to use the repair disc to get my Puter running again, it sometimes freezes with lights 3 & 4 stuck on, i then have to shut it down and reboot it.

But the time it got serious it wouldn't do anything, it booted fine but couldn't get into windows, can only assume some files had been damaged, no idea what could have done that.

Mollie, it's not nice driving in bad weather, handy having your lad to drive.

No eviction tonight now, strange having one Tuesday anyway.

Got the electrician coming this morning, a few jobs to be finished.

It's not raining anyway, cold though.

Hicky

Evening Both.

My new Puter came, new windows also, x64 bit.

The electrician came, fitted a new flood light, other one seemed to have faulty PIR.

New PIR fitted in front to pick you up driving/walking in.

He fixed the strip LED's under the cabinet's,

He wired for a 2 way lighting switch in the garage.

He fitted the shaver socket in the bathroom cabinet.

He did the whole electrical test of the building and supplied the certificate.

Very little left to do now, the left over kitchen cabinet sections are going to my lads, the Joiner is going to fit his new worktop surfaces.

Hicky

both xx

Hicky

hope you are pleased with your new pc. Is it a dell again?

shame you had to replace your floodlight.

That is good that there is very little to do on your house now. Bet it will be a relief to you and your OH that it is all done.

HOpe Emptybox is feeling a bit better now.

It has gone cold here this evening, even had a light covering of snow.

Enjoyed CBB again. So no eviction till Friday. I am not keen on that girl they made queen, she seems a right gossip.

Watching 24 hours in Custody now.

Kids busy at college/uni now. A bit of a shock going back after a long Christmas break and having exams/assignment deadlines to stick to.

OH starts a new contract in Bristol on Monday, which is fine by me as he can come home at nights, so beats having to work away in Plymouth. About 50 miles each way to Bristol, so he might stay overnight now and again and the job is one day working from home, so that is good.

Have a good evening both. xx

M

Hi guys.

Feeling not too bad today, but I'll still go to see the doc tomorrow, as my cough is just as bad, and I might as well make sure it's not turning into anything serious, as I've had it for so long.

Mind you, there's snow forecast for overnight, so I might be snowed in by the morning.

Hope your lads cough disappears soon Mollie. Don't fancy keeping mine for another fortnight.

Yes, the weather has been horrendous recently.

That's great news about your OH's new contract. Still quite a long commute, but better than before.

Hi Hicky. Glad your new machine arrived. Are you going to move everything to that and keep the old one as a spare?

Your electrician was certainly busy. Glad most things in the house are finished now.

Not very impressed with the live CBB twist tonight. I'd hoped someone new would be going in.

Good Afternoon Both.

It's not a Dell Mollie, it's a nice case.

This is the case: http://www.amazon.co.uk/EVO-LA...Gaming/dp/B00953TH8O

The motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3, with a 1TB hard drive, 8gb memory and a DVD writer fitted.

Haven't installed it yet.

My new circular saw came, i didn't have one, till now, i am going to have a lot of sawing to do in the future.

The Floodlight seemed to be ok last night, didn't see it come on once.

Glad your O/H has got a contract a bit nearer home, still a long way to go though.

Emptybox, hope the Doc can work out whats going on, a cough is always a worry.

Hope you don't get snowed in.

I will take all my docs etc onto a pen drive and put them onto the new puter, will keep the other as a spare.

I wasn't impressed with the twist tonight, a joke really.

Hicky

Afternoon Hicky.

Very frosty start followed by some sunshine, then a rain shower, but not a hint of snow.

Very high winds and rain forecast for tonight.

Are you building the computer yourself? You haven't done that for a while, have you?

Does the motherboard come with a processor, or are you getting that separately?

Yes, you'll be in need of that circular saw, once you start on the decking etc.

I got up at 7.30am because my doc's appointment was at 8.40am. I was defrosting the car when I got a call at 8.10am to tell me that the doc was off sick, and did I want to reschedule. I decided just to cancel, as I'm feeling more of less OK now, and even my cough, although still there, seems to be less wheezy than before.

I can always make another appointment if I feel bad again.

I think me feeling ill at the weekend was as much to do with my other condition as it was to do with the cough, but it's difficult to be sure.

It coincided with me giving up the meds to see if it would help the cough, but may have had the effect of making my other condition worse? Anyway I'm back on the meds now.

I saw a letter in my newspaper today (Scottish), complaining that the episode of The Hotel where Mark held his 'Scottish Night' was demeaning to Scots.

The silly b*gger didn't seem to understand that he was supposed to be laughing at Mark's antics, rather than taking it seriously. Some people.....

Evening Emptybox.

I've bought the case with the motherboard in and the memory, etc.

When i tried to install Windows the graphics wouldn't show.

I tried everything i could think of, kept restarting but couldn't complete setup of windows, in the end i put an Asus EAH4350 Silent to get it going, it worked, no idea why.

I'm on the new Puter now.

Just cooked over 2kg of roast pork, wow, tasty.

O/H's new Toshiba Laptop packed up, got it going in the end by looking on line, as it doesn't have a CD drive the repair files are on the main disc as a seperate partition.

Anyway, it seems you have to press the (0) zero key and you start up, you then get options.

I got it to repair the startup and it worked, for a day, the next day it packed up again.

Took it back to Staples, they got it going and said it was user error, not updating it properly and causing the problems ourselves.

They also said next time you get a problem don't come back here, we won't give you your money back and you can ring Toshiba for any help.

(Not very nice peole to deal with, they said we don't repair goods we just sell them.

Hope your feeling better soon, you can only try different things.

Hope Mollie isn't too stressed with her Mum.

On CBB, Nadia is becoming a pain isn't she?

Will have to download my software that is on the other Puter, ah well.

Hicky

Emptybox

Glad to hear the cough is clearing up at last. So it might be a good thing you didn't go to the docs about it after all, if it was just one of those coughs that go on its own in the end. Fancy the doc being off ill himself. Must be hard to avoid bugs working with them all day.

Can't believe someone would of actually taken offence to funny Mark and his Scots night. Hope your cough carries on improving, and the meds carry on helping your other problem.

Hicky

yes bet you will make good use of that circular saw once you get going on that decking. Glad you managed to sort your new pc out.

Staples have got a cheek treating you like that. You ought to complain to the top there. Letter or email to managing director? Because I have checked and as I thought I had heard before, it is the retailer who is responsible.

http://www.money.co.uk/article...rights-explained.htm

2. Faulty goods -

Under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 any item you purchase from a retailer should be as described, of a satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and last a reasonable amount of time. This means that if a product turns out to be damaged or faulty at the time of sale, or if a fault emerges over time, you are entitled to a partial refund, repair or replacement from the retailer.

You get 6 years from the date of purchase to return an item that turns out to be faulty in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. It's 5 years from the date you discover the fault in Scotland.

Return the goods to the retailer - it's their responsibility to issue you with a repair, replacement or partial refund and not the manufacturer's (although they'll most likely tell you otherwise).

If you return an item as faulty within 6 months of purchase then the onus is on the retailer to prove otherwise. However, after 6 months the liability shifts and you will need to prove that the fault was present at the time of sale before a refund will be granted.

It's worth bearing in mind that when you return an item the retailer is likely to ask for proof of purchase. While the most ideal proof of purchase is your receipt, if you don't have this, a credit card statement or cheque stub for the sale may also be accepted.

I so agree, Nadia is just so annoying on CBB. She is so partronising, superior and always butting in.   She thinks she is there to police political correctness, I reckon.  If I hear her going around saying "calm down, calm down" once more, I think I will scream!

CBB time, enjoy the show both xx

Evening Mollie.

Yes, Staples did try to palm us off, it wouldn't work though.

I see from your link that the retailer should sort it.

Watched CBB and stayed up for Bots, got to do the kitchen now and the Bins.

Couldn't find my disc for the new printer, had to download it all to set it up.

Needed the printer to print the docs for the car insurance.

Hicky

You're not having much luck with these computers are you Hicky?
You'll probably find that it's a setting in BIOS or a jumper on the motherboard, to turn on the integrated graphics in your new machine.

Usually they are set to the integrated graphics by default, but whoever built it for you might have set it up differently for whatever reason.

Either that or a fault with the integrated graphics.

That doesn't sound good from Staples. As Mollie says, it's the retailer that is supposed to deal with any problems, particularly in the first year.

Hope the laptop continues to work.

Hi Mollie.

Yeah, hopefully the cough will go in time.

Difficult to find a favourite in CBB yet.

emptybox

Evening Both.

Not too bad a day here, quite windy though.

Had more deliveries, my door closers etc.

Went to the recycle dump, had some rubbish and cardboard, overflow from the wheelie bins.

Sent away to that chap in IOWA for some of his free seeds, didn't know how much to put on the stamp so checked online, it came to ÂĢ1.28 so i did it online and paid money into my Royal Mail account, the site did it all and even printed the envelope with the stamp etc on, fantastic, it even prints the airmail information and the postage price paid.

The screen settings of the on board graphics were not to good but it was strange to see the screen go blank during the setup process.

Posted the letter and got some fruit while i was out, i crumble some maringue into the bown after i have chopped the fruit up.

Just doing some apple to go with the pork i've having for tea, cooked it last night using my probe thermometer that tells me when any meat is cooked.

Hicky
