Hicky
poor you that is why it is so painfull then, if it is where you had the op.
It must be weaker muscles there, after the op, so easier to strain.
You must feel tired out by it.

If the pain isn't there when you don't cough, hopefully it will go away when the cough goes, but if you are worried, it may be worth checking it with the doc.

My cough is definetly eased today, but I have had to take paracetomol for the head cold headache.
My youngest lad is still coughing away, and he started this cold nearly 2 weeks ago now, and my oldest boy has just developed a sore throat now.
That is the trouble in a big family, the germs pass round the house from one to another of us. I am keeping my elderly mother well away from our house at the moment.

So they are changing the 7 day forecast again? I think the weather forecasters are hopeless at predicting when this cold/mild weather will be this year.

Nearly CBB time.
I think this is a great series.

Hope work isn't too taxing for you tommorrow Hicky, with you not being too well.
M
Evening.
We had a bit more snow last night, but nothing much, and I think they've now changed our forecast from snow to rain on Saturday?

Sorry you're still both bothered by coughs. Hope you can back to your bed soon Mollie.
That pain doesn't sound good Hicky, but is probably muscular as Mollie said. Hopefully anyway?

Yeah Nicola seems a nice sweet girl, but not too sweet.
And I quite like Ivana as well.

Haven't seen that Railway prog Mollie. It's not on BBC2 Scotland till tomorrow. They had gaelic programmes on at that time up here.

The only thing I'm having trouble with on Windows 7 is my sattelite TV card.
It works fine on XP, and it worked on the free version of 7, but I can't get it to work on this installation.
I think it is problems with the driver. I think I was previously just using the XP driver, but this time I downloaded the 7 driver from the website, but it might be faulty? I might try the XP driver from the CD and see if that works.
Windows is telling me that the driver is OK, but I'm not getting any signal from the card. Anyway I'll continue to tinker.

Emptybox
At least you can get around if the thaw is there then. Most of the snow is melted here now.
Shame you couldnt get your windows sorted for your sat card.
That is good that you didn't miss the railway programme, it is interesting, he liked the Borders.

CBB was so good tonight.
at the corned beef war, with Verne and Sov at the centre, and poor Nicola caught in the middle as usual, trying to sort it out.
at Alex, and Stephen doing his priest bit.
at Ivana and Steph giggling about the task.
  at that Mastermind task.
What a nice change to see some interesting tasks.
  at Heidi's prison tales.
What a great interesting mix of HM's we have.

Goodnight all
Hope you sleep well Hicky.
M
Good Morning Everyone.

I stopped taking pain killer tablets like Paracetamol because I didn't want to override the pain of coughing, by holding my stomach tight while coughing it eased it and I thought I might do more damage if I couldn't feel it hurting.

Early on when coughing I could feel the bit of pipe because it seemed to be pressing on my tum from the inside when I coughed, but I can't feel that any more, don't know where that has gone.

It was pouring with rain here this morning, strange how it just changes like that.

Strange about your Sat card Emptybox, if Windows thinks it's ok the driver must be working.
Can you take it out and reinstall it again?

It's a strange old BB isn't it, but it's OK, Vinnie just wants to be the Boss, he loves it.
Ivana and Steph want to be the Boss as well.
The young ones are just pawns, so they will kick them out.

You do get some interesting stories, but Stephen is a control freak and they should beware.

The Saturdays will perform on Dancing On Ice

The Saturdays will be performing on this weekend’s Dancing On Ice show.

The girlband will perform their latest single ‘Ego’ on ITV’s Sunday night results show.

“Rehearsing for Dancing On Ice,” said Vanessa White on Twitter. “Very cool.”

Vanessa will also be appearing on ITV’s Popstar to Operastar this Friday night.

Dancing on Ice: Heather Mills could win it

The man who built Heather Mills' prosthetic leg has tipped her to go all the way and win the current series of Dancing on Ice, says a report.

Heather Mills

The man who built Heather Mills' prosthetic leg has tipped her to go all the way and win the current series of Dancing on Ice, says a report.

Prosthetic expert Bob Watts has said he believes that the former model only needs the support from the public to help her to take the crown.

Mills commissioned Watts to build a special carbon fibre limb especially for use on the ice dance contest.

Watts told the Bournemouth Echo: "She has so much courage to really drive herself and she is very focused. She started a couple of months ago and that was the first time she had skated.

"I saw her on Sunday night and her progress is phenomenal.

"If she keeps that up over the next six weeks she has every chance of winning. It all depends on whether the public get behind her."

Melinda Messenger recently praised Heather's skating debut on last week's show.

Melinda said on Live From Studio Five: "I wasn't particularly a fan of hers and I didn't hate her either. But when I saw her skate, I had complete respect for the woman.

"She's got guts, she's completely brave to do something that is so technically difficult.

"It's so hard, it's one of the hardest things you can do because you have to balance so precisely, you have to move your ankle a certain way, so it's beyond me how she's actually physically able to do it."

X Factor stars Jedward rock the Empire

HUNDREDS of fans packed into Middlesbrough’s Empire last night for a set by X Factor stars Jedward.

Jedward at the Empire

The Irish twins, 18, arrived at the club to meet and greet fans before playing a set of five songs including their famous rendition of Ghostbusters.

The pair told fans the gig was “one of the loudest and best we’ve ever had”, and said they are looking forward to returning to the North-east with the X Factor arena shows later in the year.

John and Edward Grimes were the stars of the last series of the X Factor, and divided the nation with their quirky song and dance routines.

Simon Cowell wasn’t a fan, but the likes of Robbie Williams, Peaches Geldof and the tens of thousands who voted for them week in, week out eventually persuaded the music mogul you can’t fight popularity.

Almost 1,000 fans at the weekly student-friendly APE club night welcomed the celebrities as they ripped through a barnstorming live set of hits including Rock DJ, Under Pressure, I’m Your Man, Ghostbusters and Oops I Did it Again.

After the performance they stayed for an hour backstage where they signed autographs and chatted with young Teessiders.

Jedward at the Empire

Fans - and fellow twins - Jodie and Carly Jameson of Linthorpe were equally impressed. Jodie, 21, said: “That was quality. And the boys were great backstage too, really friendly and down to earth.”

Students Julie Stainthorpe from Grangetown and Cassie Lewis from Normanby, both 18, also met the X Factor stars after the show. Julie said: “That was amazing. Absolutely brilliant - and miles better than we thought they would be.”

Delighted promoter Phil Saunders of Ten Feet Tall said: “I’m totally over the moon with the crowd’s reaction, and Jedward were fantastic - both onstage and off.

“We thought there was something very odd and very wonderful about those boys before the gig - pure star quality - and now we know for sure. They just lit up the stage and were hugely entertaining.”

Cheryl Cole is the most photogenic woman ever.

The 'Fight For This Love' singer - who is the face of L'Oreal hair products - beat Audrey Hepburn, Beyonce Knowles and Marilyn Monroe to the title in a new poll of 4,000 British women.

A spokesperson for Nikon, who commissioned the study to promote their new D300 camera, said: "Cheryl Cole was a clear winner and is loved by the nation for her looks, dress sense and friendly nature."

Others to make the top ten included Angelina Jolie, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Megan Fox and Grace Kelly.

Cheryl, 26, has previously admitted that style plays a big part in her self-confidence.

Commenting on the infamous David Coma black and metallic dress she wore while on UK TV show 'X Factor', the Girls Aloud star suggested it wasn't a personal favourite.

She said: "The alloy wheels dress was a bit of a disaster, but Beyonce had it on a couple of days later, so it can't have been all bad.

"What I feel like in a dress is more important than how I look."

World's Top 50 Photogenic Women, top ten:

1. Cheryl Cole

2. Audrey Hepburn

3. Angelina Jolie

4. Beyonce Knowles

5. Princess Diana

6. Marilyn Monroe

7. Catherine Zeta Jones

8. Megan Fox

9. Brigitte Bardot

10. Grace Kelly

Hicky
Good afternoon all.

Hicky
Thanks for the Corrie piccies. I looked through them all in that link. Very interesting. You forget over the years how the characters change.
Was your cough any better overnight, or did it keep you awake again?  How is the pain now? I dont quite understand what you mean about the lost pipe?  Is that to do with the op? Is the pain still bothering you?

I am feeling better in myself today, than I was, but the damn cough still kept me awake most of the night.
Have you been busy at work so far today?
It is raining here on and off today too, and it is very mild now. About 9 degrees. Talk about one extreme to another!

Emptybox
I wonder if the snow has gone up by you now too?

I am watching livefeed right now, and Vinnie (not Verne..oopps Emptybox noticed i got the wrong name ), is bossing them all about in the kitchen again.
But as Hicky says, that Stephen is a real control freak, one for them to watch. Alex just looked putty in his hands last night.   Poor fella. I think it might for good for Alex to move on from Jordan, but he needs to keep away from Stephen.
I love those hairbands Nicola wears.
M
Hi Mollie.

Cough much better last night, hardly coughed all day anyway.

The pain was only when I coughed, non otherwise.
I assumed the hard object I could feel pressing on my Tum from the inside was the pipe they put in the Aorta, but as the days went on it doesn't come to the surface now.
Don't know what has changed.

The snow has mainly gone now,

It seems a shame that 2 have to go tonight.
Which ever way you look at it, it's 2 females less, which isn't good.

I pray Stephen gets nominated, but I'm not sure if he will, he has them all in a trance.

I've just had a Tomato soup with 2 toast.

Working Monday, have booked car in for MOT/Service Tuesday.
Hicky
Evening.

I have to say that a double eviction, when there are only 3 up, is a fraud on the voters IMO.
If you were a fan of one of them, you would be forced to vote off both of the others to make sure yours stayed. Double the revenue for CH4.

A lot of my snow has gone, but there's still about 6 inches on the lawn and the flower beds etc.
Ice is the problem now. My drive is like a skating rink. I think I had more trouble getting my car in and out this week than I did last. It was sliding all over the place. The roads are fine though.
I think the rain over the next few days should get rid of a lot more.
I might even get some work done next week?

When I was out I got another container of calor gas (15kg). The guy told me they hadn't been able to get any for 2 weeks, and only got a delivery half an hour beforehand. So I was very lucky.

Glad you are both a bit better.

I've got my sat card working using the XP driver.
You'd think Windows should know if there was a problem with the Win7 one, but it's just not that clever.
I'm almost certain there is something corrupted about the one on the TBS website (the card is the TBS 8920 DVB-S2). I've tried downloading it more than once.

The only problem with using the XP driver is that it won't allow the card to be used with the Windows Media Center. You have to use third party software.
I might try the Vista driver? But it's all working now anyway. Apart from BBCHD, and I think that is a codec problem. I can get the picture on that channel, but not the sound.

Hi Emptybox.

BB aren't soft, they are only interested in the money anyway.
The correct vote would have been to save, but not for C4.

It gets very slippy after it's rained, the rain would get rid of snow very quick, but if it's compressed into ice it takes a long time, it's very hard to rush the thaw of ice.

You were lucky with your liquid gas then, they are probably kept off the roads as it's a hazardous load and will have a health and safety code to follow I would have thought.

You probably should be using the Vista driver for your card, Win7 is built on the Vista program isn't it?

I would try all the drivers and see how each is, and what the card is like with it, then use the best in the end.
Hicky
Hi Hicky.
I was thinking of putting some sand on the ice on my drive to give the car a bit of grip.
I could only do the bit outside my house, and not the bit of the drive that goes past my neighbours, but it would be a start.

I probably will try the Vista driver for the sat card.
It's quite a popular card, so hopefully they will fix the Win7 driver in time.

The card does come with it's own media player software, that works fine in XP, but is a bit flaky in Win7.
That does have sound in BBCHD, but it insists on squishing the picture up to 4:3 for some reason, and you can't change it in the settings. You can't win.

Night.

Good Morning Emptybox.

Had a good sleep, didn't hardly cough at all, thank heavens.

Looks like not a bad day here, will see if I can get the car washed.

All the snow and ice has gone off the drive and roads here now with the temperature rising.
It should stay above freezing here for the next 7 days anyway.

You need the course grit to put down really, but anything helps.

Hope Mollie is feeling a bit better, all this overnight TV is too much.
Hicky
Good afternoon all

Hicky...
Glad to hear you had a good sleep at last.
I am still coughing, so slept on and off, but at least it is easing, and I am feeling a lot better than I was.
Did you get round to washing the car?

Emptybox
I suppose because you had so much snow, it will take a while to go. It has all gone here now, because it is about plus 8 now and raining.
That is lucky that you got that color gas.
Hope you get your techy stuff sorted.

did you see Popstar to Opera star? Don't be put off if you don't like opera, I have never seen an opera, but it was really interesting. What a great show it was,I really enjoyed it, plenty of pretty ladies for you guys too.
I think the pop stars found it really hard to sing opera with all the high notes, and in a foreign language too, but they worked hard and did really well.
Amongst others were Kim Marsh, she was great, what a voice, Vanessa from the Saturdays, and Darius..
Katherin Jenkins seemed a lovely tutor and judge, and I liked  Meatloaf as a judge, he is funny.

I hope you all have a good Saturday.
I am having a quiet day, because I don't feel up to going out until these coughing fits have gone. But I have plenty of tv to catch up on.
M
Hicky
were you watching CBB livefeed from last night?
I saw a bit of it last night, where they were eating and dancing at the party.
Do you sit in one of those brush washer machines to get your car cleaned?

Worth watching Pop to Opera online if you can't find it, although I guess it will be repeated on itv2 in the week. Mylene introduces it. She looks very glamourous.

I am getting my appetitie back again. Just had a nice red salmon and salad cream sandwich for lunch.
M
Afternoon.

I haven't seen that prog Mollie, and I forgot to watch that Railway one as well, so I guess I'll try to catch up with them....if I remember?

We had a lot of rain overnight, and a lot more snow has gone. I can see the edges of my lawn now, and the fields are begining to emerge from the snow.
The problem now is flooding. With all the snow now melting from the hills, the river has burst it's banks and completely flooded the road to the village.
I can get out the other way, but with a lot more snow to melt, it might stay flooded for a few days?

I found some sharp sand, so I sprinkled it over the drive outside my house, and the path to the front door. The drive that goes past my 2 neighbours is still iced up though. The post girl just about fell flat on her back trying to deliver my mail, walking past my neighbours.

Hope your car gets through it's MoT Hicky.
I haven't tried moving my van since before Christmas. I had the engine started a few days ago, just to make sure the battery didn't go flat.
I could probably get it out now with just a little digging. There's a little snow piled up behind it.
emptybox
Hi Mollie & Emptybox.

I saw some of the live feed, they were enjoying themselves, got more to watch yet.
I saw them dancing, they were having fun anyway.

I got to the American hand car wash, and there's a few hand ones round here, I prefer them really.

It was ÂĢ10.50 for a 4x4 but I don't mind, it's too much for me to do it myself.

Glad your getting your appetite back anyway, mine is improving.
I made a full English for my O/H, she had been to work early and she fancied it, she had brought a few items in from Sainsbury's so why not.
i did Tomatoes, mini Sausages, Bacon, Black Pud, Mushrooms, Beans Toast & fresh Orange.
Very nice too.

That was awful, the post girl falling, it was in the paper a school girl fell on the pavement and has died from her injuries, how dreadful.
And it's so easy to fall, and no-one gritted any pavements.

Your Van should be OK, don't need to dig it out unless your going to use it though.

I'm off to start making a Cottage Pie for Tea, yummyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
Hicky
Hi Hicky, glad you're getting back into your food.

The post girl didn't quite fall, she managed to recover herself, but her pink wellies were going in all directions. Don't think the wellies were uniform issue somehow?

It is terrible that people have died because they neglected the pavements though.

My dad used to get his car washed at a similar place to you Hicky. Where you paid to get someone to do it by hand.
I just do mine myself. Which means they don't get done very often.
emptybox
Good evening all
Emptybox
hope you dont get a problem getting out with floods, after all those problems you have had with the snow. Poor post girl nearly slipping in the ice. She has good taste in wellies if they were pink.   Just the colour I would go for too.
You seem to be missing out on some tv shows lately. You really must pay better attention Emptybox, else you will miss out on your media gcse.

Hicky
I bet your car looks good now it is all clean and sparkly.
Glad you and OH enjoyed a cooked brekkie, and hope you enjoyed your cottage pie.
I enjoyed my first full meal for ages tonight too. We had chips, peas and cheese and onion quiche, and it was yummy.

Darloyboy
Sounds like you have been busy lately.
Glad to hear you have had a good few days at college and been enjoying clubbing. You take care if you are getting drunk though.

Wonder why on earth Nicola is up? She is so inoffensive. I really hope she doesnt go.

Goodnight all.
M
Aye well, I must have got a C minus in media again cos I couldn't have been paying much attention to CBB? I didn't see them nominating? Perhaps we see that tomorrow?
Can't see who (apart from Stephen and Sov) would vote for Nicola.
I hope Sov goes because she's acting like a stroppy teenager. She really kicked off after she was nominated, and then she was gloating like nobodies business after she was saved.

Can't say this series has grabbed my attention very much though. No Chantelle's this year, unfortunately.

Night all.
emptybox
Hi darlo.
I haven't gone to bed yet after all.

I thought Sov said that Nicola was like a school bully? So she can't like her that much.

I think they all look up to Vinnie. Don't think Nicola has been in an argument with him though? Unless it was corned beef gate?
I couldn't really work out what that was about? Apart from Lady Sov being a bit selfish, and Vinnie being a bit of a prima donna of the kitchen.
emptybox
Reference:
I thought Sov said that Nicola was like a school bully? So she can't like her that much.
Perhaps it was a joke?. Sov hasn't even nominated Nicola at all yet or given any indication to be irritated by her unlike some certain other housemates.

Stephen was the one that had a bizzare dislike of Nicola. Vinnie being dramatic over the corned beef argument for gawd sake take the most silliest things seriously in there and plus it was a couple of days ago.

Vinnie has them all under his control, they are afraid to stick up to him and think he's this really great idol and sucking up to him he's like a male Carole from BB8 I so hope he doesn't win either Sisqo, Nicola (if she stays) or Jonas for me.
darloboy (Play The Game!)
Good morning all
It is nice and sunny here today, which is good after all that rain yesterday.
Hope the flood threat has gone where you are Emptybox

Emptyybox.. D minus now for your media studies ...It is not Sov, but Katia who said that Nicola was the sort of girl who bullied her at school, even though poor Nicola had not said anything nor been nasty at all to Katia.  I dont think Sov has an issue with Nicola at all. Going from what Darloyboy says here, she hasn't even nominated Nicola.
But as Darlo says, Stephen has this hatred of Nicola (very Christian of him..NOT!) after she stood up to him. Looks like he has influenced gullable Alex to nominate her too.

I agree Emptybox, Sov has been acting like a spoilt child, after she heard she was nominated, and then showing off when she was kept in. I just can't believe she is a 24 year old woman.

I agree Darolboy, Vinnie has them all under their control. That is what Nicola was trying to say in the diary room last night, but it is difficult for the poor girl with her limited vocabulary. She did manage to say he was scary though.  I so hope he doesn't win this. I find him too intimidating with others, and too big headed to be likeable.

Hicky..
hope you slept ok last night and your cough has gone. I slept a lot better, and the cough has eased a lot now.

Hope you all have a good Sunday.
M
Good Morning Everyone.

It's lovely & Sunny here today, with very little wind.

Glad you slept better Mollie, I did as well,
And it's nice to feel like more food as well.

They just vote for the weekest don't they.
They know Nic isn't so bright so she doesn't fit into their world and is an outcast.

But I don't know who will go between the 2.
Don't know that Nic has a fan base but I suppose Sov has somewhere.
Hicky
Hicky
Glad to hear you are feeling better too, and slept well.
I seem to be hungry all day so far today, for a change.   I've munched my way through a toasted bagel, a toasted cheesy muffin, and a piece of raisin bread already.

Nice to see the sun again, isn't it?
From the list off Darlo of who voted for Nicola... (Stephen, Alex, Sisqo, Jonus), I think Stephen is probably the main influence behind their decison.
But hopefully she will not go.

Darloyboy
hope you are having a good Sunday.
I so agree, why is Sisqo not getting any coverage? Such a shame, because  I have seen him talking on livefeed a few times, and he is a really nice guy, so supportive of the others if they are down. If Nicola is your 3rd fave, who are your other faves?
M
Darlo..
Yes, those tiwns were so funny on BBLB.   What I like about them, is that they are so enthusiastic about everything they do. I loved the way the show ended with that song with Brian.
when Vinnie saw them through the glass.

I like Sisqo, but don't like Sov much because she moans and flounces so much.  I think Jonas is a nice bloke but didn't like the way he was just hanging round Katia all the time. Hopefully he'll join in a bit more now she is gone.
M
Hi All.

I recorded BBLB, will look in a minute.
Heard on a twitter that the twins are on all week.

Hope Darloboy saw Sisqo and Sov the other night then, after Katia went.
They were very together because they missed her.
In the end Sov jumped into bed with Sisqo but after half an hour the camera went somewhere else and didn't come back.

Sov is way ahead in the betting to go anyway.

A few of Nicola's pics when Modelling, she was Miss Croydon in a Miss GB contest.
http://www.anorak.co.uk/234893...g-nsfw.html?pid=5500

I'll have to go and watch the twins.

Dancing on ice tonight.

Slumdog Secret Millionaire at 9pm as well, must see somehow.
Hicky
