Well, I take back what I said about whether it could keep going for 8 episodes: only 2 in, and it's got more twists and turns than a twisty-turny thing...

Is anyone-else watching "Detectorists"? It's the final episode tonight.

I've found it to be a quite charming show: Mackenzie Crook and Toby Jones are great together.

A quick heads-up:

It's the annual Only Connect: Children in Need Special tonight - BBC2, 8.30pm.

Robert Peston, Patrick Marber and Sophie Grigson take on Kevin Eldon, Kate Mosse and Prof. Steve Jones.

The point I was trying to make in my previous posts was that one of my main concerns at the beginning was that it might seem "dragged-out" over an 8 episode run. However after watching Ep,2, there seem to be enough sub-plots and alternative viewpoints to sustain it...

We watched Only Connect on catchup!  Thought it was appalling. Both captains were poor team players and Jones was particulately rude to Kate Mosse. Emma Laslet and that young lad who did UC and OC would have been more charismatic IMO.

The second series of 'The Fall' kicks off tonight, BBC2 at 9.00pm

If it's anywhere near as good as the first series, then it'll be a belter, Velvet!

Can't really get into The Missing yet.  Possibly because I find J. Nesbitt rather annoying

I didn't watch the first series of The Fall. Do you think I'd be able to get into the second series, without seeing the first?

 

Madame, I understand what you mean about James Nesbitt being annoying. I'm sticking with The Missing, in spite of him.

Yogi... I'd try to watch the first series if I could - it's following on, although I expect it'll work as a stand alone.    It's so worth watching though - it's excellent.

In that case, I'm guessing you won't be watching "Babylon" tonight, either...

Personally, it's a really good night on TV for me: new series of both "The Fall" and "Babylon", plus "Russell Howard's Good News".

They've just reshown series 1 actually, Yogi - is it not available on demand or catch up?
