wow those scones look dead yummy, wish I lived next door to you.

No wonder you couldn't resist having one for brekkie, and another one for tea.

I saw that ship in the news, how interesting your neighbour was there and remember it being built in hiding. When would that of been?

Baz

hope you had a good day. did you go out today or was it too showery?

We just had a quick trip to asda for a bit of food shopping.

Weird weather, one minute bright and sunny, real heavy rain shower the next.

Enjoyed Dr Martin last night, very funny.

Watched Dog House tonight, interesting how they pair the dog with the person.

Have a good night both xxx

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Hope you’re both having a good day , in spite of then atrocious weather !

I’ve just got back from my first yoga lesson .....I think getting out of bed tomorrow might be a problem Turns out ,  getting up wasn’t a problem in the end ...staying up on one leg was !! Honestly , I’m useless ...trying to concentrate on breathing , what the  instructor was saying and which was my left and right battered my head ! But the relaxation bit at the end with my feet  up a wall was great ....think I’ll just go for that bit next week

Hicky , any scones left Mollie , I love Dr Martin ( so did my husband) ....I’ve recorded it to watch at the weekend Gardeners World , Masterchef and Gogglebox for me tonight So, have a good evening both . Take care

Baz

Baz

well done going to the yoga. Hope you don't ache too much tomorrow. You did well getting up and even standing on one leg, I would struggle with the getting up alone. The relaxation bit sounds the pleasant bit though.

I think you will really enjoy the 1st show of the new series of Doc Martin, so funny it was.

Gosh we had some real heavy downpours inbetween the odd burst of sun today. Still quite mild though.

Went for tea at local pub today, 2 meals for Β£8.99 if you eat before 6pm, so we went at 4.30. A bargain. I had a butternut squash lasagne with salad and sweet potato chips.

Looking forward to Gogglbox tonight.

Hope you have had a good day Hicky and enjoyed some interesting meals. (like you usually do).

Goodnight both xxx

Evening Mollie & Baz.

Cooler today at 16c with light rain showers all day and night, a moderate wind as well.

Didn't have any brekkie before i went to the opticians, eye tests lasted almost an hour, right eye has a cataract and AMD so vision impaired, left eye has the  AMD and a small bleed and with having the cataract removed my glasses are wrong for that eye so sight not good at all, but i can see the screen which is good, i should have had info from the hospital for the optician but i never got it, he will ring monday to see if he can get whats needed as he is supposed to send his finding to the hospital of course.

I don't see the hospital again till October the 18th.

Had egg sandwiches for midday snack also a warmed scone with butter, clotted cream and jam., for tea had a bowl of jellied eels and made a stirfy from a stirfry veg pack.

Am recording Strictly so i can watch F1 qualifying.

Mollie, Yes, the scones are very nice, o/h likes them as well.

It wasn't that ship i saw being built, the one i saw was a tanker as i walked underneath it as they have a flat bottom of course because when they are loaded they are so deep in the water, can't remember what year it was, it seems a long time ago now.

The gardener has been trying to get here but the weather too bad, he usually comes a day after it has rained as it's too wet to do the normal grass cutting at properties.

I watched gardeners world, did you see all the flys etc on the grapes, wow, they are ruined.

That pub price was good for 2 meals, very good.

Baz, Glad you went to try Yoga, but it will get easier if you keep on, which you should really, it's just that more muscles get used that need training.

I try to limit myself to 1 scone a day, as a treat.

Have a good evening Both.

Hicky

both

Baz

hope you had a good day and aren't too achy after the yoga.

Did you get out today?

Hicky

sorry you are having so many eye problems, not helped of course if the hospital have not sent the relevant info onto the optician. Hope new glasses and the hospital visit help improve things for you.

Cooler here too today, but to be expected now I guess being end of September. We have been quite lucky it has been so warm for so long.

Glad you and OH enjoyed the scones. Are they plain or fruit ones?

That is the trouble this time of year, hard to sort the garden out inbetween the showers. No I missed Gardners World, good job you don't get flies like that on your produce though.

We went to this today...

https://www.walesonline.co.uk/...is-festival-16999541

Our little seaside town was full of 1950's Elvis and women in 1950's dress. We saw the Best Elvis competition in the theatre. Gosh what a high standard, they sound so much like the man himself. Their costumes must of cost a fortune. The event attracts a lot of older fans, but also some youngsters. In fact a 16 year old won the Best Elvis. A 15 year old also sang but he was too young to enter the competition. His voice was breaking so he could sing high and low notes.

Stayed dry until this evening, even though it was very windy, which is good as we did a fair bit of walking on the seafront. And I had chips with mayo and ketchup on the seafront.

Watching some of the dancing, then turning over for Britains Got Talent. Not so keen on it this year though, as a lot of it is not even British stuff, and a lot of it is boring. They seem to be putting through a lot of rubbish too.

Going to eat my toffee apple daughter bought me from tesco now. Its covered in white choc with coloured sprinkle balls on the top.

Have a good evening both xxx

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Hope you’re all having a good Sunday . Yesterday wasn’t a good day .....but I’ve just got back from the spa ....nice relaxing facial .......and I’ve finally bit the bullet and put in an adoption request ....for a pussy cat from the Cats Protection League ...wish me luck

Hicky , so sorry about your eyes Mollie, wow that looks fab...and I hope you enjoyed your toffee apple  What did you both think of yesterday’s Strictly ? I thought most of them were quite good ....a couple sadly were not ...but they seem a nice bunch this year ...no real grrrrrrr figures ....apart from Shirley , who I can’t abide

Anyway, I hope you all have a good evening ....the Island for me tonight Take care

Baz

Evening Mollie & Baz.

Not nice weather here, 15c rain all day and a moderate breeze.

Didn't do much today but had a nice video ling with Oz, lovely seeing them all, instead of using the tablet i opened facebook messenger on the laptop, fantastic, had a good half hour.

Had bacon and beans for brekkie, for tea made a sunday roast as i had bought a small joint of Sirloin, had some frozen cauliflower with a few roast potatoes with some nice gravy.

Will have one of the scones for supper.

Mollie, No idea when i will be able to get new glasses, won't be able to get them till after i get the other cataract done, will have to see what the doc says at the eye clinic.

The Elvis shows look interesting, some are so good.

I've recorded the dancing as i'm watching the F1 from Russia, will watch later.

Haven't watched any more BGT, didn't like the system.

Baz, At least the Spa and Facial was good.

Well done getting the pussy cat, thats one animal you can't control but appreciate being looked after, good luck.

I enjoyed Strictly, one of the problems is that the dance is changed each week so that is a massive problem, the other is they only really get 4 days to rehearse and half of them are still working, that doesn't seem right.

I'm not a Shirley fan either, but we seem to be stuck with her.

Not watching the Island, they put too many hope people on the show

Will be watching The Circle as i'm more happier with it now, i'm also recording Love Island USA.

Have a good evening.

Hicky

Baz

sorry yesterday was not such a good day for you,  but glad to hear you got to go to the spa today. Hope it helped relax you.

Aaaww good for you adopting a little companion pussy cat to keep you company.   What does it look like? Did you find it hard to choose the one for you? Have you named it yet, or does it already have a name you want to keep?

Yes I agree, they do seem a nice bunch on Strictly.

Did you see Gogglebox? Good to see Jenny and her pal and the 2 elderly ladies. They make me laugh.

Hicky

How nice you got to enjoy a half an hour with your family on the laptop.

Hope you don't have to wait too long to get the cateracts done then in the other eye.

Went to the coast today as we got last minute tickets for the American Elvis singing show with the Cardiff Philamonic orchestra. Nice to hear the full orchestra. There were 26 in the orchestra including the conductor and the American Elvis was a very high standard.

When we walked down the seafront it was so windy today and the sea was in with a big swell and huge waves of about 6 foot high. Still mild (car showed 19c), so very pleasant even in the wind.

Some silly adult was standing on the sea steps as the sea came in (depite the sea being incredibly rough), and she had a toddler with her. Couldn't believe how dangerous it looked. Fourtunately we saw a policean and policewoman appraoch them and tell them nicely to move away from the seasteps for their own safety.

Am watching Sanderton now, enjoying this series.

hope you are well today. Did you get out today or was it too wet?

Hicky

hope you are having a good day and you are coping with your eyes.

Did you manage to get in your garden today?

It was dry here in the morning, but not nice enough for me to peg washing out, so it is hanging on the airers round the house. Poured with rain this afternoon.

Went to costco to get food shopping, and had my usual tea there of jacket potato, beans and cheese.

Anyone watch Plebs? I do and think it is so funny. It is back on tonight at 10pm on itv2.

Have a good evening both xxx

Evening Mollie & Baz.

Only 16c here, rain from afternoon till tomorrow afternoon, a gentle breeze.

The window cleaners came this morning, they should have come Friday but too wet.

Had sausage and a tine of tomatoes for brekkie, for tea had some beef sandwiches and the last scone.

Went to Tesco to get some temporary glasses, had to order some cheap ones from Vision Express inside the supermarket, getting 2 pairs, one for reading and the other not for reading, Β£58 for the two, ready in 10 days, can't be worse than these glasses now.

Mollie. My eye's are in the lap of the gods, what happens next is anyone's guess.

Hard to believe a woman with child would go by the steps on the seafront when the sea is stormy.

Don't blame  you for getting your usual in Costco.

Might take a look at Plebs, will have to record as The Circle is on then.

Baz, Hope you had a good day and didn't do too much.

Wonder when you can have a cat is approved?

Hope you enjoyed the Isand, have a good evening.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Damp day here ....but then it is October  I was quite busy yesterday , went to town , did some shopping , popped in the library and had a nice long walk . So , I’ve  not done a lot today , just a bit of housework and a small load of washing . I have contacted the  cat rescue place again , but still no replies  Hope you’re day is more productive than mine

Mollie , yes, I enjoyed Gogglebox....and love the old dears . What did you both think of MC last night ? I think the right two probably went , but that Vicky drives me nuts Hicky , sorry you’re eyes are giving you so many problems ....but hope the new glasses help a bit .

Anyway , Bake Off tonight ....and Apprentice tomorrow...I love the autumn viewing schedule Have a good evening both

Baz

both xxx

Baz

sounds like you had a busy day yesterday, so a good idea to not do so much today.

Probably the cat place are slow to answer as it is run by volunteers who might all be tied up looking after the cats, so no one to deal with office things. But hope you hear back soon. Is there a bus there you could catch to see them, I think many of them have days they are open for you to just turn up and see the cats.

I haven't been watching MC, as I was watching a detective drama. But as you say, autumn tv is good for choice, especially with Bake Off tonight, how good were their bombs, so colourful. And Apprentice tomorrow should be good.

Hicky

hope the new temporary glasses are of help to you.

Sounds like you both enjoyed those scones as they are all gone already.

Did a bit of shopping today in Home Bargains and Lidl.

Was tired after so just had some curried lentils for tea, with rice, one of the lazy ones you get in a bag, they are from Costco.

Watching Bake Off now.

Showery but also some lovely sunny periods inbetween, so managed to sit out on the swing chair in the warm sunshine for awhile. But the showers are heavy and come quickly so had to dash in when they came.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie & Baz.

A pretty misable cool day here, 14c with rain and cloud all day a moderate breeze.

Did nothing really, some of the onions i had hanging up on string in the gazebo fell as the string broke, have ordered a stronger string.

Had a kipper with bacon for brekkie and for tea o/h gave me a ready meal she had bought and it was too fiddly for her to reheat got another one for tea tomorrow as well, they are like a sunday lunch with either chicken or beef with veg etc and gravy.

I have stopped drinking coffee with the coffee mate, i now have tea with normal milk again but decaf after midday.

The gardener gave me his battery hedge cutters to see if i can ment them as they have stopped working, i found that the fixing screws are the security ones Torx, i have plenty of torx bits size 15 but the hone for the screwdriver is too narrow for the bit holder to fit in so i have ordered a set of 10cm bits from Amazon.

I made a security feature the other day, to keep my code book of log in details etc with passwords away from prying eyes and also for my wallet, i got 2 plastic containers with push on lids and had some stick on Velcro, the Velcro wouldn't hold onto the plastic good enough so i used my very large stapler to fasten it to the Lid, i placed the smooth part of the velcro on the underside of my desk so now i just release the container and then reclip it back up to the lid, sorted, works fine, the container is about 8 x 6" and 2" deep but big enough.

Mollie, Will have to wait now for the glasses, but i think i will be able to manage till then.

Will make more scones Thursday, will try the Sticky fingers recipe though.

Have recorded bakeoff, just too much on tv now and i can only record 2 shows at a time.

Baz, Strange no replies from the cat rescue place, maybe they are not there all the time.

Your day sounded more productive than mine was.

I didn't watch Masterchef or record it, recorded Plebs though.

My eyes are ok for now, my right eye which needs the cataract op should be better then, i am using that one now because with the left one bleeding and having the op the lense in the glasses i have is no good so just using the right eye to see really.

Have a good night, Happy October the 1st.

Hicky

Baz

hope you feel ok today and had a good day.

Hicky

hope your poor eyes are holding up today.

Hope the bits you ordered fix the hedge cutters ok. You are so clever at fixing stuff.

And what a clever idea to hide your codes and wallet like that.

Been a nice day here today weather wise. Even got quite a bit of washing dried on the line today. Had a nice walk in the sun with the dog.

Looking forward to the Apprentice, will record Doc Martin, as i really enjoyed it last week.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Good Evening All.

Not bad here today, cool at 13c but sun all day and a moderate breeze.

Had scrambled egg for brekkie with toast and then went to the farm shop.

Got some lovely mushrooms and a ribeye joint as we could have company for sunday lunch, if 3 grandchildren want to come this Sunday.

Got more smokey streaky bacon, forgot to get eggs, but o/h has some, need 2 for the scones in the morning, going to make the Devonshire recipe this week.

The gardener came and cleared out 2 125L tubs of tree roots, what a job, wow.

Just had the 2nd of the meals o/h left for me, a lamb dinner, not too bad, made extra gravy though as love loads of that.

Just had half a pack of dates, very tasty.

Looking forward to The Apprentice tonight, hope it goes well.

My Torx bits arrived and also my 3mm black twine so have rehung the onions.

Have a good evening both.

Hicky

Evening Mollie.

We posted together again, so i missed yours and you missed mine.

Anyway, it's the one before this.

My eyes are reasonable, lost the depth of field of course so distance is a problem of course.

Yes, the bits arrived can take the machine to bits now, hoping to find the problem, it's obviously an electrical problem, hope so, easier than a mechanical to fix usually.

Had a swing on the seat today as the sun was lovely,

Enjoyed The Apprentice, had to record the aftershow on BBC2 as the Circle is on at 10pm so watching that.

Just had some salami with cheshire cheese wrapped in it, yummy.

Keep losing the cursor,

Have a good evening.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky Hope you are both  having a good day . Weather isn’t great here , but I did manage to pop into town and get a few bits . Apart from that I changed the bed and did a load of washing and ironing .....and not much else  Oh and the sanctuary got back to me yesterday , and the new addition to the Baz family is  is arriving on Sunday

Hicky , how are your eyes doing today ? Glad you enjoyed the Apprentice ....I’m not sure enjoyed is the word I’d use , but I do like moaning about the usual bunch of numpties ....and a couple of the contestants have the potential to stir things up a bit Mollie , how are your ankles doing ? Did you like the Apprentice too ?Won’t be too long before I’m a Celeb too Do you watch Dancing on Ice? The line up this year seems ok .... a few of them I don’t know ...but none of them I actively dislike .

Anyway , hope you both have a nice relaxing evening . Take care

Baz

Evening Baz.

Quite a miserable ere with 13c cloud and rain this afternoon, a moderate breeze.

Had a bacon balm for brekkie as o/h brought them in, We went out to a garage to see a car she spotted this morning while out, it was a Vauxhall Mokka X Automatic Turbo, o/h loved it, it's only 2 years old, ex mobility, so we decided to buy it in a couple of weeks, it's a Metallic Orange, Orange - Amber colour, rather nice.

Something like this, not sure what this colour is of course.

Vauxhall Mokka
Vauxhall Mokka X Auto Turbo

For tea had a seafood soup and a big scone, i made mored the fruit, i was in such a mess with the sticky fingers recipe.

Scones
Scones again, larger, well risen but no fruit.

I froze 2 before i baked them as a test.

Have a good evening, thats good news about the family addition arriving Sunday, lovely.

The eyes are ok, i suppose the right one is mainly used as the left one is useless just now.

I watched the apprentice, m but at least it passes a bit of time, and the aftershow on BBC2 is good at 10pm.

Hicky

 both

Baz

how lovely that you have your new family member arriving on Sunday.  Hope they settle in well and you tell us all about them after their arrival.

Yes i did enjoy the Apprentice, as you say, we are not short of numpites this year,  but it should be entertaining. I enjoyed how even on show 1, we got to see an interesting task so far away, and plenty of animals too.

Yes, I  love Dancing on Ice, in fact I only half watch Strictly but never miss DOI, as I think it is so much harder to dance on ice, and I like to hear the original music tracks they play. I also love I'm a Celeb, so won't be long till that now.

Hicky

thats good your gardner was able to do so much and you have the onions sorted.

That is nice your OH has found a car to suit and it is only 2 years old. The metallic version looks lovely.

Your scones look yummy, I could eat one of those now with my morning coffee!

I couldn't post yesterday and might miss the odd day now because my lappy has broken! So I have to borrow OH's when he's not using it. I got a message on mine saying the fan was not working and it would switch off, so I can only put it on briefly else it will damage it more. Luckily, even though I had it 2 years 7 months ago, because I got it from John Lewis, they gave me free 3 year warranty, so I will take it back and ask if they can fix it. Daughter tried all the things suggested on google to try and fix it, but came to the conclusion it does need seeing to replace the fan.

Pouring down with rain this morning. so washing hanging by radiators today.

Looking forward to Gogglebox tonight.

Have a good day, time to hand OH's lappy back to him. Will be back again when I can. xxx

M

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Happy Friday folks Weather not great today ....very damp , although more drizzle than heavy rain ....so I’ve  done some housework , fed the birds , and found places in the cupboards for the cat stuff...which seems to be multiplying

Mollie , bummer about your laptop...but hopefully it will be covered by the warranty I’ve not had a working laptop for many years now ....I use my Apple IPad Pro with touchscreen ....(I have an iPad mini too) .....in fact I’m not sure I could use a track pad now ....and I KNOW I’d never be able to use a mouse any more  I’m looking forward to gardeners world, Masterchef and Gogglebox tonight  Hicky, you can keep the car (I don’t drive) ....but I’ll have a plate of scones please

Anyway , whatever you’re doing , I hope you’re both having a good day....and enjoy your evening

Evening Mollie & Baz.

15c today, rain this morning ght breeze.

Just did a bit in the garden, going to add another level to one of the 5 raised beds so i will get more room to put some spare some spare compost.

The computer is playing up, only typing some of the text, pretty annoying.

Had a sausage batch for brekkie, for tea had tomato soup then one of my frozen curries, also had a scone as well.

Mollie, Yes, we need another car, this one is over 11 years old and has only done 56k miles and never had any problems, its Indonesian.

Yes, laptops may have more than 1 fan but they are very important as the components cant cool themselves in such a small space.

Love DOL bad enough learning to dance never mind skate.

Baz, Hope you new pussy can comes Sunday its going to get a good home anyway.

Have a good evening, this computer is driving me mad, i have to type everything twice.

You say you have not done much yesterday, but what an important job and how exciting getting the cupboard all ready for your new arrival. Hope they settle in well tomorrow. Look forward to hearing all about it.

Well how hilarious was our folks on Gogglebox last night, brilliant show.

Hicky

what a nuisance you too are having pc problems. Hope you can sort it out.

That will keep you busy adding another level in the garden. Hope you can sort it ok.

When do you get your new car ? It will be nice to get one after 11 years. Our car is 10 years old, but has done 193k miles! OH keeps saying we should look for another one.

Nice morning here, even got to read my book on the swingchair, but it has turned drizzly this afternoon. We went to a cafe my daughter recommended for brekkie. It was very nice.

Looking forward to BGT later, even though it is not so good with this champion one.

Time to give OH his lappy back now.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie & Baz.

15c with light cloud and rain later, a gentle breeze.

Had a nice brekkie of bacon egg, hash brown, mushrooms, tomato and toast.

Mended the hedge trimmer machine for the gardener, it was a connection on the battery that was faulty, it hadn't returned to a good position after being help under tension for so long, i didn't find it untill i had the machine in bits for some hours checking for lose connections etc, it was the last resort really and it was that, there was 4 connections between the battery and the machine.

I found the problem on the computer after 2 hours of checking and removing stuff and changing browsers etc, then i was thinking, what was the last thing i did, then it dawned on me, i had changed the background picture to a slideshow from the latest visit to Oz and set the change rate to 1 minute, on the laptop we have 10 seconds but i could only get 1 minute, i changed it back to 1 picture and the problem went away, wow, how strange.

For tea i had a Laksa soup then a fried Plaice, yummy, will have a scone later.

Could get the new car around the 15th of Oct, ours is going in for an MOT Wednesday.

Mollie,

Glad you had a nice brekkie, daughter was right then.

Looking forward to Strictly tonight, it should be good, film week isn't it?

Baz, Hope your having a good weekend, glad you are ready for your new guest, and hope you get it ok tomorrow.

Have a good evening.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Well , she’s arrived She’s had a good look round , had some food and is now fast asleep on the pouffe in the dining room ....so much for getting her a bed  She is very cute and friendly ....just the litter tray to conquer now ....so fingers crossed

Hope you’re all having a good Sunday  Did you both enjoy Strictly ? I thought it was good , although I didn’t agree with some of the marks . I think Michelle,  for example , get overmarked . But generally the standard seems quite good . Anyway , hope you have a good evening ....the Island final tonight Enjoy your evening

Baz

Evening Baz.

14c here drizzle and a fresh breeze.

Stayed in, had a round of toast for brekkie as was going to make a Sunday roast for us both.

My lad gave us a video call this morning so that was good, the baby reacts to us on the screen, waving and clapping, so cute, she's just 1 year old now.

Cooked the piece of Ribeye steak joint, set the probe to Medium Rare, it only weighed 0.85kg but plenty for the 2 of us and it makes a fantastic meal.

Enjoyed strictly, wonder who will go? i don't take too much notice of the scoring as they are bound to have a favorite and the public voting goes by who is in their fan club so the scoring is pointless really, it won't be the best dancer that wins will it, last night was more about the costume and face acting a part ion a film.

Good Luck wit the cat, they have a mind of their own.

Have a good evening, Strictly results now, wonder if it will be David James.

welcome to your new companion.  So pleased she is settling in well so far. Sounds like she is so relaxed because she senses she is welcome, and is going to be well looked after. My doggie also prefers our pouffes to her own bed.   What does she look like, eg colour, markings? Have you named her or have you used the name they gave her already?

Yes on Strictly Michelle's marks did seem to be a bit on the high side.

Hicky

how nice to see the baby getting excited to see you on skype.

Its great you can stay in touch like this despite all those miles apart.

I bet the gardener was well pleased with clever you mending his hedge trimmer.

You also did well fixing the pc problem too. I am taking mine back to the shop tomorrow to see if they can fix the fan.

Lovely day here weather wise, good for my washing and got a little read on the swingchair.

Enjoying the drama Sanderton tonight.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Both.

15c here today, cloud, rin, sun with a moderate breeze.

Went for a haircu and to get brekkie out, but by the time we got to the cafe it was time for lunch so we had sausage egg and chips, very nice indeed.

Then i did some tidying in the greenhouse.

For tea i had mushroom soup and some chopped ham and pork lunchen meat with some mixed pickles.

Just had a banana as i didn't make the scones, will make some tomorrow, o/h really liked them, she even said they were nice without fruit, the trial of cooking them from frozen which i did yesterday worked out extremely well. will freeze most of them tomorrow as well.

Mollie, We don't us Skype now as it means my lad getting the laptop out and his o/h is often using it for work so we use facebook Messenger on his phone and we use the laptop, it works the same as Skype just easier.

Yes, it saved the gardener buying a new one, the Bosch make is a good one and he hasn't had it that long but can't find the receipt.

Yes, was so surprised to find the slideshow timing that was causing such a dramatic effect on the computer operation, so unexpected.

Hope you can get your lappy fan fixed, it could depend if a generic spare will fix it.

Baz, Hope your new guest is behaving for you and not making too much mess.

As Mollie says, it would be nice if you could post a picture of her.

Have a good evening both.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Hope you have both had  a good couple of  days. It was raining here this morning , but it’s sunny nowI’ve not done a lot , except sort out the darn cat !

However, my friend of over 30years popped around for a cuppa this afternoon , and it  was nice to have a bit of a catch. Sadly , her husband was diagnosed with a degenerative , terminal disease last year , so they’ve had to move to a bungalow recently . She has had her hands full so we’ve not been able to see each other as much as we would normally , and I’ve really missed her.

Mollie , she’s what’s called a short haired torbie....part tortoiseshell/part tabby  We’ve kept the name they gave her ...but shortened it to Sammy Hicky , I thought the right person went on Strictly , but I think David’s days on the show are definitely numbered  Bake Off tonight .....and I’m hoping the judging is better than recently  Anyway , have a good evening both . Take care

Baz

Good Evening Baz.

Not bad here today with 15c sun and a fresh breeze.

Had toasted sausage sandwiches for brekkie.

Had a swing in the garden on the swing seat, then decided to do some work, took some 8 x 2" planks to one of my work benches to cover one side with a plastic cover, the side that will be against the compost in the raised bed.

I have loads of wood, left over from when i made the 5 raised beds as i was going to make the beds 3 planks high but i stopped at 2 which gave me a lot of wood over, a total of 12 pieces 2.4m long, a lot i cut in half to use as a platform when i was mending the roof of the gazebo after the gales one year.

Anyway, i covered one side and the edge of 4 x 1.2m and 2 x 0.6m

I made 2 trays of scones, i froze 4 and bked 6, remembered the fruit this time, very nice too.

I used the bread machine to make the dough, just cut down on the milk so it wasn't so sticky, then it rolled out so easy.

For tea i made a seafood soup, then had a plate of chicken wings, a scone and a cuppa.

Good luck with the cat.

Thats so awful for your friend, so sad and nothing you can do, but at least she can talk to you, it will mean a lot for her to have someone to talk to, i think it would be great if you could get together now and again, she will mneed a breather as you know.

I suppose David could be next, don't think he has that many fans to keep him in.

I'm still enjoying the Circle, it is strange but interesting.

Have a good evening.

Aaaww sounds like the new member of your family is keeping you very busy. But I guess  as Sammy is in new surroundings with a new family, it will take her some time to adjust.  But hope she settles soon. I can imagine what she is like easier now  you have described her and she sounds lovely. Did the cats home have any idea how old she is?

That is so sad for your friend. Its such a shame she had to move further away from you as they needed a bungalow. So it must of felt good for her to get to chat with you yesterday. Hope you can manage to see her again soon.

Hicky

a good idea to freeze your scones as they come out so well.

Sounds like you have been busy in the garden and with the scone baking.

Its always a bonus this time of year when we get the weather good enough to go on the swing chair. Its a bit too showery here today. Just had to dash out to get my washing in when the shower started, luckily it was nearly dry though.

Enjoyed Bake Off but how complicated was that last cake! Getting ridiculous now, don't know about being bakers, they need to be mathematicians now!

Going to the shopping outlet soon , to help son choose a suit for his graduation ceremony. He's never had to have a suit till now.

OH took my lappy in to the shop and it takes up to 28 days to come back, but they will fix it for free, despite me having it for 2 and half years. So can't complain.

Have a good day both xxx

Evening Mollie & Baz.

Just 14c here today with cloud sun and a quick shower, a fresh breeze.

Had fried eggs on toast for brekkie.

Did more work in the garden, put a plastic sheet on the planks of 8 x 2" for the rqised bed level 3.

O/H was burning weeds growing in the driveway, i ordered more gas canisters, they last a long time as she is still on the first one.

I removed all the watering computers from outside, 4 of them and sealed the open ends of the fitting with cloth and taped it on to keep the slugs out as they would go in the pipe for the winter.

Had tomato soup for tea with a beef curry and a scone, got a banana for supper.

I ordered some whole wheat flour and that arrived today as well, will be making a loaf tomorrow 3/4 wheat flour and 1/4 strong white flour, will be adding some malt flour and seeds.

Mollie, I will be putting the cover over the swing seat soon, a pity really but need to preserve it as much as possible.

I recorded bake off, got fireworks going off somewhere i keep hearing them.

How exciting choosing a suit for your son, i can remember getting suits made, no idea why because i was always the size of off the shelf clothes.

That will be good, getting your lappy fixed for free is great.

We got the car MOT today, it needed a light bulb and new boots on the track rod ends.

Just watching Masterchef.

Baz, Hop the cat isn't running you into the ground, they can be quite a handful, hope she lets you get on with your daily life.

I put the recycle wheelie bin out today, it seems to relate the speed a week goes with putting different ones out on a Wednesday, the week flys past, wow, should have gone to the farm shop today but couldn't with the car being in the garage.

Have a good evening both.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Hope you are all having a good Thursday . I’ve not  done a lot today , but I have cleaned the kitchen,  changed the bed, washed , ironed and rescued the bin I’m now waiting for my shopping delivery . Sammy is fast asleep under the table , having refused some of my fish

Mollie , according to the rescue people she is about 2/3 years old . I haven’t enjoyed Bake Off as much this year as it feels like the judges made their minds up ages ago who they want to win ...and I don’t like that....but as long as Vicky doesn’t win Masterchef I will be happy  ! Hicky , Sammy is quite a good cat really , but I have to admit I’m finding it more stressful than I expected . I am finding the change of routines difficult , but I guess it’s an age thing It will be better once I can let her out , but that won’t be for several weeks yet ....so I’m having to grin and bear it !

Anyway , I hope you both have a nice evening . Take care .

Baz

Evening Baz.

Not too bad here at 15c had a busy day, had sausage on toast for brekkie, then as i had just put all the ingredients for my big loaf in the machine o/h came in wanting to go to the farm shop as we could go yesterday, anyway, we went, i left the breadmaker as it was, got some more sausages, chops, Jacobs Ladder, mushrooms, tomatoes, dates and a jar of pick;ed cauliflower.

While i was out looked at my mobile and saw a message saying my glasses are ready so we called in on the way home, a bit awkward with 2 pair of glasses, i have the cords on as i need to wear them both.

Kneaded and did whatever to the bread dough, it baked very nice, it weighed 1960g, pretty heavy, had a crust, yummy, cut the mass up and froze most of it.

It sounds like you had a busy day really, if the cat isn't too young it should be trained in some good ways.

Hope the shopping arrived ok, thats one problem out of the way.

The cat could be used to certain foods, did they tell you what she had been fed on, with fish she might not like the smell or the texture, trial and error could be the way.

Looking after pets can be a full time job, i wouldn't have the time even if i had pets.

The 3 left in Masterchef are so good, I wouldn't be surprised if vivky did win, she is very good.

Just wathing the Hairy Bikers on Route 66.

My latest big loaf, 75% whole wheat flour and 25% strong while, with malt flour added and seeds as well, it weighed 1960g when baked.

One large loevely loaf
Latest big loaf, 1960g

Have a good Evening.

Fancy Sammy refusing some of your fish! Maybe she will come round with time. I didn't realise you couldn't let her out for a few weeks, but now you say, it makes sense . Hopefully you will find it more relaxing soon as she gets more settled.

I know what you mean about Bake Off, not so good this year. There has been some odd choices of who to get rid of.

Hicky

I saw your photo of the loaf on twitter, it looks delicious.

That must be awkward for you having to juggle 2 pairs of glasses, so the chord sounds a good idea.

Hope the car MOT work didn't cost too much.

Not long till you get the new one now though.

Heavy showers and sun in between today.

Went with son to try on a few more suits. Think we know what sort suits him best now. Got a bit of food shopping from asda, being 5 of us and 2 pets, we always seem to be running out of something or other!

Watched  the Dog House  where they rehome dogs. Then Celeb Coach Trip.

Have a good evening both xxx

Evening Mollie.

Came back to my post as i forgot to post the picture, then i saw your post after i had edited the post.

Yes, very awkward with 2 pair of glasses, one pair are reading the other for distance but of course the middle section i don't have as the reading glasses don't cover very far but until i get my eyes sorted not a lot i can do.

Just watching Million Dollar Wedding Planners, wow, wow.

The car MOT could have been worse, a brake light had gone, the track end boots needed replacing but he couldn't buy any so he removed 2 boots from 2 other track ends and that worked, Β£140 i think with the MOT, the garage will only give us Β£450 for the car anyway, but what can you do.

Hope you find the right suit for your lad, it will mean a lot to him.

I see the eye clinic next Friday i think, my left eye is pretty hopeless so untill i can use that for seeing i don't know if they will do the other cataract as i might not be able to see at all.

I had to remove all grapes from the outside vine again as the squirrells have ruined them again.

Have a good night.

Baz

hope you had a good day today, did you manage to get out or has young Sammy kept you busy? Hope she is gradually settling in now.

Hicky

I have heard garages don't give you much for your old car, OH says we will be in the same position when we have to upgrade ours as it is 10 years old now with over 190k, and OH is beginning to notice it is struggling. He doubts by the next MOT it will pass the new emissions thing as it is diesel and it failed on that last time. But as you say, not a lot you can do when garages decide the price. Let's hope you are pleased with the new one when you get it though.

Not easy for you waiting to see what the hospital will say about your eyes. Let's hope they can help improve things.

Gosh we really had some heavy downpours today! We went to view things at the auction and there were a couple of roads flooded so we had to drive slowly through them.

Looking forward to watching Gogglebox tonight and will record "Have I got News for You."

Going to Birmingham to visit mums elderly sisters tomorrow. Only going for the day, so will leave early and probably won't be back till late, so won't be able to call in here. (I am still having to borrow OH's lappy). Thought we'd go again before the hour changes as we don't tend to see them come Dec/Jan/Feb when it is mid winter.

Goodnight both, have a good evening. xxx

M

Evening All.

15c here today, cloud some light rain and sunny intervals with plenty of breeze.

Had bacon egg, tomato and beans with toast for brekkie.

Did some work in the garden, built the top tier on the raised bed and replaced the top seat boards, have now got space to put any excess of compost etc.

Emptied the 6 buckets that had the plants in the greenhouse, thats gone in the new raised bed section.

For tea decided on a tomato soup with a slice of my bread toasted with 1 sheherds pie i had just made, made 2 so i can freeze one.

Have gone back to my original glasses as i couldn't cope with the swapping glasses, no chance.

Just watching gardeners world, although it's mainly 99% flowers which is hopeless to me.

Have a good evening.

Hicky

Evening Mollie.

WEe posted together again so i didn't see your post earlier.

15c today sunny intervals and a gentle breeze.

Had a nice bacon and sausagfe and tomato brekkie with toast.

Did some work in the garden, cut the 10m x 2m netting up to make 1m wide netting , cut 1 of those pieces into a 6m strip to go around the grape vine raised bed, going to put net around all beds now, have got to.

Picked quite a few leaves up with the spiked cane, go about 5million to go when they fall off the Oak tree, omg.

For tea i decided on having the other shepherds pie, made extra mash and gravy, wow, that was good, might make another 5 next week as i loads of mince and onions etc.

The problem with old cars is, the garage can't sell them so they have to go to the auction and get sold as seen, the garage can't do that.

It's a pity you don't get some of the cash if it makes money above what they offered you.

It used to ne in old days that car prices were in the glasses guit or something like that, but only up to 10 years.

In one of my company cars i did 249k miles, it ws an automatic, the one i used to drive to Germany and Belgium in, and of course all over the UK.

Missed nearly an hour of Strictly so i just press and hold OK and it restats from the beginning, so pleased.

Enjoy your Birmingham trip, they will be so pleased to see you all and catch up.

Have a good evening.

Hicky

Baz

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky   Hope everyone is having a good Sunday. Raining here, but  I’ve been for spa hour ...nice facial and hand, arm and head massage ....just what I needed ....so I’m quite chilled... at least for a while

Mollie , hope you had a nice visit . Did you enjoy Gogglebox ? Hicky , I hope they can sort things out a bit when you see the people at the eye clinic on Friday . Strictly was very good last night ....some really good dancers ...although I found some of the scoring a bit OTT . By the way , I was really pleased with the Masterchef winner ..... Going to have to find something else to watch next week though

Anyway , I hope you both have a nice evening . Take care .

Baz
