Tonight's film on Channel 4 is about the four Italian renaissance artists Donato di Niccolò di Betto Bardi, Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci, Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni, and Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino. Not only are their artistic masterpieces at serious imminent threat of being shredded but they have been forced underground as casualties of artifex ninjemys. Shunned by society, they must try to overcome prejudice to try to regain some sort of respect again, and to rescue their work from destruction.

Or have I misunderstood "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows"

Good morning everyone it's a nice bright morning. I'm really enjoying the cooler weather. We've still had very little rain.

I hope you and your Mum have a lovely weekend Summer and that she enjoys the service.

Enjoy your day everyone

Good morning everyone

Sunny here though no heatwave.

Squiggle, it looks as if the weather for us will become unsettled with Tuesday being particularly wet and showers on many of the following days.

I hope everyone has a good day

El Loro

Good morning everyone.

Weather is dry but lots of cloud.

Unsettled weather is forecast for my area in the next few days too. TBH, as long as we don’t get stifling heat, I don’t mind.

Summer, I hope your mum enjoys the service and you have a lovely day together.

Have a good day, all.

Good morning everyone

Cool and blustery here. Lots of rain forecast for today and the next few days. Like Yogi I don’t mind as long as it stays coolish

Sweet, I hope your mum enjoys the service and your day together is an enjoyable one

Have a great day one and all

145 million old £1 coins not yet returned to the Royal Mint :
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-49111748

I think some will have been kept as souvenirs, some by people thinking they could increase in value, some will have been made in to pendants etc and the rest lost down the backs of sofas etc.

Good morning everyone it's a sunny morning. There's rain in the forecast for the week ahead and this time I hope we really get some. We could do with some downpours.

Enjoy your day everyone

Only of interest to those of you who watch fictional crime series on television. A BBC video looking at the difference between forensics as shown in those programmes and reality.

I've only seen the first few seconds of the 5 minute clip so don't know if it contains really gruesome content.

Recorded and watched a very old (1934) British film called "Once in a New Moon" Only just over an hour long, it was one of the earliest British films in the science fiction category.  The science fiction aspect is so minimal (and implausible) that it's best to ignore it. The film is closer to a comedy/satire and as such was quite watchable. Small village finds that it's all by itself and has to fend for itself - conflict arises between the local aristocracy and the villagers who want equal rights.

Many years before the Ealing comedies and not up to the standard of the best of those but still an interesting curiousity.  "Things to Come" tends to be regarded as the first important British science fiction film - that was made a couple of years later. I've seen it and, although much more of a science fiction film than "Once in a New Moon" I confess that I found it a lot harder to watch than "Once in a New Moon".
