A bit of a surprising article on the BBC website today which looks at energy costs across Europe. In the article there's a graph of European capitals in order of electricity cost and a graph for gas cost. London is below the average cost for electricity (17th out of 23 capitals) with Berlin 1st being 60% more expensive. Again London is below the average cost for gas (21st out of 22 capitals - no figure for Helsinki) with Stockholm 1st being 165% more expensive,

I don't care what those graphs say, we are still paying too much for electricity and gas!

I have done my grocery shopping.

I agree we should all get a years refund

Well done on doing your shopping Yogi did you encounter any trolley rage

I have finally got all my Christmas cards Now just have to write on them and post the ones that need posting

A year's refund would be great.

No trolley rage.

I'm going to post my cards tomorrow.

Hmmm *checks Yogi's local A&E for damaged shins and limbs*

At the rate i'm going posting won't occur until next week

I agree that gas and electricity prices are too high but was surprised that this country was cheaper than the average European country.

I was too, I think our prices are extortionate, I would have said we were probably the highest in Europe, just goes to show.

I was surprised that we were cheaper than so many others.

I bet the electricity and gas companies now use this survey to justify their price hikes.

I'm not sure the aticle is a survey as it seems to have been written by a BBC business reporter. What the article doesn't do is to compare the prices with the median (average) income of people in those countries.

That's a good point. I wonder how we compare on the salary/wages graph?

Hehe cosy great owls tonight moonie

I've just had a nice bath, and now I feel sleepy! I'll try to remain awake a while longer though.
Hope you've had a good day moonie

I was wondering about the cost of energy bills vs wages in Europe too, it wouldn't surprise me if they earned more- or certainly paid less tax than the u.k.

Good evening Sweet :kiss;

I thought those owls where appropriate as Yogi was off for a bath and now you have had one too so doubly appropriate

Glad you enjoyed your bath and if you feel tired then its best to go. Don't want you flopping out

Moonie

Good morning everyone

We have had rain all night and its not looking a whole lot better now. We are promised rain most of the day

I hope its better where you are

Sweet, lovely piccie

Yogi, when you said you where off for a bath, my mind when too owls, bathing owls as a 'goodnight' theme

Then Sweet came on later and said she was off for a bath too and that sealed it

El, I hope we all just have the odd shower but its not looking promising tbh...

Have a good day Buddies
