That's disappointing for you

I wonder why Sheffield United was nicknamed "The Blades" because of the history of steel making at Sheffield rather than Sheffield Wednesday. Sheffield Wednesday  ("The Owls") was founded in 1867 - Sheffield United afterwards in 1889. It could be if the first players of United worked in the steel industry.

 Very disappointing El

That’s a good question El

I will have to my diehard life time Blades fanatic if he knows

I see the Owls lost 2-0 at Bristol City today too

Evening all

Thanks everyone. I was a bit stiff and achey this morning but it eased off a bit as the day went on.
Mr Y got in on the act today and gashed his head on the metal shed. We aren’t safe to be let out on our own🙈

I hope you’ve all had a good day

Hi Yogi

I’m glad your feeling a little better today but I’m very sorry to hear Mr Y has gashed his head. I hope it didn’t require any stitches  or damage the shed to much  sorry Black Country humour or not depending on your point of view 😉

I hope you both make a speedy recovery

My has been good fankoo, I hope yours has too

I washed my duvet cover and 4 pillowcases and dried them all. It wasn’t too warm even though the sun shone for most of the day. There was a breeze which also helped

Then there has been a lot of football on over the weekend too

My day was much better than yesterday lol

Well done on getting your washing dried and I hope you enjoyed the football.

Got another one of those Domestic and General phone calls about my washing machine insurance. I knew this was almost certainly a scam. So I asked the caller what make was my washing machine. The caller immediately ended the call. So  100% certainly a scam as if it had been genuine, the caller would have known the make.

My landline doesn’t phone doesn’t even ring. It automatically blocks numbers that are not in its phone contacts list. The only time I see I have had a call from a number isn’t is when I look at the phone display of incoming calls. I usually Google it and then block it if it is of no significance , which they usually aren’t.  The phone can block up to 100 numbers. I’m not even close to that amount yet

It is surprising how the same numbers do ring even though they get a message to say they are blocked

Although I do block some phone numbers, a lot of scammers just use random phone numbers making it pointless trying to block them. The most frequent are those claiming to be British Gas and that my electicity contract is due to be renewed. They only target businesses so you wouldn't get them. I get at least one every week of the year and have done so for a few years so it's hundreds of such calls. I cannot block them as it's a different number every time. I know it's a random number as a Google search on any of those numbers won't produce any meaningful results.
The Guardian had an article about this some months ago. Tatget small businesses conning them in the hope of either earning commission or getting bank details. They ring from abroad so Ofcom can't do anything about it. Nothing to do with British Gas, they win't do anything about it. It's one of the perils I have to put up with.
