What a load of morons at that demonstration in London .....what is it they don’t understand about social distancing Don’t they realise that it’s silly people like them that are fuelling ....if not causing....all the stricter restrictions !

Baz

There's no way out of this. Morons in denial and morons running the show.

They are absolutely clueless - all of them. I wonder when the Govt. will admit defeat and it's another lockdown. Don't like the word - it's up there with binary and woke.

Well; some of them are just plain CovIdiots. However many of them have adgendas - and many of those are rather worrying...

The photo below was taken at a previous anti-lockdown demo at Trafalgar Square back in August. Whose flag is being displayed here?

Nope: not the National Front, although you're on the *ahem* right lines...

That, folks, is the party flag of Oswald Mosley's British Union of Fascists.

Just let that sink in for a moment: people at a Trafalgar Square protest supposedly against the curtailing of person freedoms were brandishing a flag that Mosley's blackshirts waved while marching down Cable Street 84 years ago...

The former director-general of the charity Age Concern Baroness Greengross has said the elderly prefer death to spending Xmas alone.

'What do we do about elderly people who long to see their family at Christmas and it looks as if they'll not be able to? That's absolutely awful,' she told The Times.

'I think I would make an announcement just before Christmas that relaxed some of the rules, because most older people with families would prioritise seeing them, I think, over staying alive.'

This sort of sensational statement is not helpful - how does she know? Where is here evidence?

Saint

I agree Saint. How stupid is that? Christmas is just another day, as such. So she's saying that people would rather be dead and NEVER see their relatives again (and deprive themselves of, potentially. several more years of life), than have to spend an arbitrary day without seeing them!!!!!

I'm not going to pretend it's easy, going for months on end without seeing folks (I'm having to do it myself), but there are ways to lessen the upheaval this is causing us ALL. Does she think it's not affecting the rest of society?

Spot on EFFT No, it’s not easy , but in the grand scheme of things it’s just one day .....and there are always other ways of feeling involved ....even if it’s only a phone call

I know what flag it is Eugene, also in attendance were the NF, EDL and BNP along with flat earthers and climate change deniers at the rally.. I don't see how people didn't see this coming, I have been warning about the rise of fascism for years.

I understand her point - older people may want to "risk it" than be alone at Xmas.

Wonder what she thinks has been happening for the last 6 months?

Loneliness is terrible but i think there are more seniors wishing to survive til it's all over especially in the elderly where the "Make do and mend" attitude is surely higher than in any other age group.

It's the selfish lack of co-operation that annoys me the most.

Revellers, holiday makers and people complaining they've had to cancel their weddings

Erm ... 40,000 good people have died - people who should still be here.

Two people in our street have entertained visitors today - how dare they not co-operate

So when Blair deregulated licencing hours one of the reasons they argued was that it would stop people piling out of pubs at 10 pm, having crammed in their boozing before the final bell.  Streaming out of pubs, steaming drunk and wanting to carry on their revelries, and kicking off in fast-food restaurants and taxi queues.    It's even worse now as the nightclubs are all shut.

If there's a stupid thing to do, this government will do it.

Seriously, you could not make this up. Of all the people to get spotted!

These people never learn.

PM's father Stanley Johnson pictured in shop without face covering

The prime minister's father, Stanley Johnson, has been pictured shopping without a face covering, breaking current Covid-19 restrictions.

Mr Johnson - a former Tory MEP - has apologised, claiming he may not be "100% up to speed" with current rules after returning from abroad.

Fines for not wearing a covering in a shop were raised by the government last week to £200 for first time offenders.

Former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has also apologised for breaking the rules.

He was pictured at a dinner party which appeared to have nine guests, going against the government's "rule of six".

Corbyn apologised immediately and said he should have left when more than six turned up. He's paid a fine and rightly so. What kind of person invites more than six and takes a picture and sends it to the scum newspaper. No excuses though, he broke the law and was fined👍

Stanley Johnson isn't keen on precautions, I wish he was and used had them wisely in 1963 👊

According to the Whithouse Trump's doctors and medical team have been 'misspeaking' about his Covid situation. Does anyone believe that?

Who knows Fluffers.....last I heard on news was that he has been given 'a cocktail of experimental drugs'

They were talking about the "experimental" treatment last night: the general opinion from the start was that it wasn't a good sign...

The whole "misspeaking" issue seems to come down to the hospital staff implying that Trump's been ill for a day longer than the White House claim, and the WH are trying to clamp down on that. I initially assumed the WH were covering their backs for legal reasons (the longer period could mean Trump was already symptomatic when he attended a fundraiser midweek), but it's now looking as if his state of health was more worrying than has so far been implied...

Fake news from the Trump camp

Hardly a surprise though, is it?

One of those who appears to have got infected at the now-notorious Rose Garden "super-spreader" event last weekend is Kellyanne Conway - Trump's former campaign manager and the originator of the term "alternative facts".

It has been claimed that Kellyanne only went public over testing positive after her daughter Claudia tweeted that her Mum had lied to her about the test result...

There will be another big leap in the daily tally of covid19 infections tonight, because the government's data people have found yet another stash of positive tests since 24 September that hadn't been included in official figures. What is unclear is whether..

Replying to
the new data fundamentally changes the perception of how fast infected numbers have been rising and prevalence of the virus in the community. And presumably we will learn why so many of these positive tests vanished temporarily and weren't included in published data.

Went to GP to get prescription i've now discovered i didn't need

Afterwards felt terrible - gurgling tummy, headache, sudden sore throat - Mum started feeling the same.

Panicked - went for COVID test after 3 days .

Test centre was quite busy with about 15 cars there (Sunday at 11am)

Test results back within 12hours - negative (thank God)

So sick of this ruddy virus - living in fear all the time
