Evening Mollie.

Yes, i'm amazed at what has happened with the left eye, iwill be asking the doctor what is going on, i wonder if another injection could improve the sight more?

I got a box of 24 packs of the 50g peanuts as Mrs H loves them, the packs of 240g peanuts are in a box of 18, they could last a while.

Yes is was rather nice, the same as the Midlands, soon dried my washing anyway.

Glad you got you money back from the failed drive in show.

I don't blame you not wanting to walk in the rain, i hate to go out in the rain, but i always use an umbrella, i keep one in the car, 1 in the summerhouse, 1 by the back door, 2 by the front door and one automatic one in my room.

Stay safe, stay dry and sleep well.

Hicky

Evening All.

17c today with sunny intervals and a moderate breeze.

Not a bad day really.

Had bacon, eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms for brekkie.

For tea made chips with some ribeye steak and made a pepper sauce.

Mrs H gave our neighbours a lift to pick there car up after its MOT.

The Showmaster onions are about ready to be harvested as they are trying to bend over, will check tomorrow.

The grapevine in the greenhouse has taken off and growing like mad, not sure whether to just let it grow or not, whenever you stop a vine it wants to regrow every shoot again

My Lads knee is still swollen, this is 9 weeks since the op, he is still using crutches, it's still sore as well.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep tight.

hope you are well today and are still enjoying your M and S goodies.

Hicky

wonder why this injection worked so incredibly well whilst the others did not have an effect?  Didn;t you say your eye got even worse after that op? Do you think the improvement might be accumaliative, so that is why it is good this time after the previous ones you have had? If so do you think if you have another one, it will improve some more?

I think the smaller bags of peanuts are probably better than the huge bag we got, as at least they keep fresh and you know how much you have eaten. Far too easy to eat too much from a big bag.

Good idea to keep so well equpped with umbrellas as we live in the UK.

We too had a nice warm sunny day today, which is a great bonus for September.

That was nice of MrsH to give your neighbour a lift for the MOT.

What a shame your son's knee is taking so long to improve. I have heard they can often take awhile after this op. Hope it improves soon.

Sounds ike you are due a good crop of onions and grapes.

Must admit I don't recognise many of those Strictly names, but thanks for posting.

Sat on swingchair today and read my book, took doggie a walk.

Had my M and S Ocado delivery. They had 7 items missing, and one sub. So not so good in that respect, even the driver said so.

What I had deivered was lovely though. Enjoyed my potato salad tonight and their strawberries were yummy.

Watched A and E tonight, but had to hide my face a few times, the man who cut off his 3 fingers....  and they had them in an ice bucket, but did a brilliant job sewing them back on, so he only lost one. It was a 21 hour op.

Goodnight both xxx

Evening Mollie.

I will have to take my paperwork out to work out when i had the cataract op and did i have injections in that eye after the op, can't remember off the cuff, they have been monitoring my eyes for months with no change and they wouldn't have given me an injection if the eye hadn't had a bleed at the back, how it has improved the vision i will have to ask when i next go, i never got and explanation why the sight in the left eye went worse after the op, i am pleased with the improvement, whether another injection would help even more i will ask.

I just taken a portion of peanuts from the bag, then close the bag and put in a sealed tin.

Well, it's not the end of summer till 22nd so whether may change then.

You will probably know some of them when you see their faces, they are on the link under the list.

Yes, 7 items missing, what good is that? and we never ask for subs.

Was watching the usual programs tonight, A&E on now, oh, thats the one i am watching now, oh i am on 4+1, Lol

Stay safe and sleep tight.

Baz

Evening Baz.

Cool today at 15c with light cloud and a gentle breeze.

Didn't do much today, had a bacon sandwich for brekkie, and midday had some fruit.

Have got fruit, plums, strawberries, pears so ok for now.

For tea had the left over chipped potatoes with a premade portion of cauli cheese.

My shopping arrived at 08:30 as Mrs H did the shopping, only think that didn't arrive was the shrimps, for some reason they don't seem to have them in ealy Thursday, unless they put them out later as we can usually get them either Friday or Saturday.

She got me 3 bags of flour, one of each strong white, self raising and plain.

The cupcakes have all been eaten, finished today.

I have ordered a card for Mrs H as its her birthday in a weeks time, it's nice and in a box and not very cheap so hope its ok.

I've got a nice piece of topside for Sunday and a cauli, have loads of spuds, and can make beef sandwiches with leftover meat.

Stay safe and sleep tight.

hope the weather improves for you (and your mood too), we do have a good forecast to come this weekend though.

I bet you enjoyed your dinner today, I love honey roast parsnips too, so am glad you reminded me we have some in the freezer. I enjoyed more of my potato salad from M and S ocado today. I think I may of worked out why so much stuff was missing off my order...we went to Costco today and couldn't understand why it was busier than last week, but then heard on the news that South Wales have started stock piling again, due to Caerphilly locking down and the threat of other areas doing the same. So let's hope we don't go down that path again.

Thank goodness Gogglebox is back tomorrow, I will certainly try and join you if I don't have to watch on pause. (sometimes I get tv interruptions with family or pet stuff).

How nice Bake Off is back soon, I love this show, there is always some really nice contestants.

You can understand why it takes so long for your ankle to improve because of how badly injured it was,but thank goodness you are much improved

Hicky

i am wondering now if the hospital will be as surprised as you as to how much your eye has improved this time after the injection?

That's good MrsH made sure your supplies have arrived, but shame the shrimps werent' there.

I am sure MrsH will be pleased with a Birthday card off you, at least you haven't forgotten it. Did you use Moonpig for it? I like them, I have just been making up one for my aunt personalised with a photo, as she likes that.

Coly cheese and chips sounds delicous.

We had our tea from Costco today, my usual jacket potato with cheese and beans. You can't eat in there now, so I just bring it home and it stays warm as they wrap it up so well.

Watched GP behind closed Doors today.

Lovely weather so the dog and I sunbathed in the garden for awhile. And she got a little walk.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

I hope on my next eye test at the hospital i can see the number board a bit better, last test and many beofre i could only see the top left and right letter by looking to the side when the letter board was 1m away which isn't good, if i can improve on that i will be very pleased.

I looked at moonpig but just ordered one from Amazon.

I asked her what she wants for her birthday, she just says i don't need anything, and if i buy something it will be wrong, it always is.

That was lovely getting your Costco meals again.

Glad you got  little sunbathing in the garden and a walk with doggie.

Been watching the Love Island shows from 2019, exactly 12 months ago.

Stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Evening All.

Hope you both slept well Baz & Mollie.

18c today and light cloud with a fresh breeze.

Had bacon egg and beans on toast for brekkie, midday had some fruit and a pot noodle, just had soup nad fried some Monkfish misshapes for tea.

Playing another game of chess, watched F1 practice 1 & 2 today.

Didn't do much, walked the garden, took the Manx Kippers out of the freezer for tomorrows brekkie.

Watched the US Masked Singer, last night watched more of the old recordings of 2019 Love Island.

Saw some 24 hrs in A&E as well.

Take care stay safe and sleep well.

A lady i chat too in a forem makes Eggs wrapped in Bacon, so of course i asked how she makes them, she posted a video, she did say that she uses small foil cake cups to fit in the bun tins and greases them to stop sticking.

hope you had a good day today and slept ok last night.

Looking forward to Gogglebox, will try and join you all later.

Hicky

it will be really interesting to see how you do reading the board next time at the hospital. Fingers crossed it has improved.

Aaaww at you getting things wrong for her birthday. If you want to get her something, have you thought about a flower delivery? I have used this "Bunches" delivery place for years. I order for my aunts birthday flowers from here and they are always really pleased with them....the last one I sent even had butterfly picks.

https://www.bunches.co.uk/

Or just make sure you make MrsH one of her fave meals/organise a food take away delivery,  or make the cupcakes she likes? I am sure she would like that, or will be only too pleased you thought to get her a card.

I see your chess and F1 has kept you busy today.

It was not sunny enough for the swing chair here today, but at least it was dry for us to take the dog a walk. We ate the last of MrM's potatoes today for tea. He had a excellent crop of different types considering it was his first time. The bunny got one of the carrots too.

MrM went to B and Q tonight, he went after 7pm as it was really quiet. We are lucky we don't have too many covid cases in our small town, but we are glad the Welsh government are to introduce mandatory face coverings in shops/indoors from Monday as a precaution. The other problematic areas are either in Lockdown (Caerphilly) or being watched, as this awful virus seems to spread so quickly.

Poor daughter has been suffering with sinus pain again, the doc rang her and is going to prescribe another nose spray as she keeps getting it on and off, and has already had 3 lots of antibiotics. This nose spray is a stronger one than the first one she had, and it is a steroid one, so I hope it clears it. She has had this problem since we were all ill the beginning of this year, back when me and son got pneumonia from what the doc said was a very virulent virus. So I still wonder if it was the corona virus that hit my family, especially since reading they have proved someone in UK got it as far back as December? My son was very young to suddenly get a virus bad enough to give pneumonia the hospital doc told us and very odd both of us got it, as pneumonia is not usually catching they said.

We will never know. But I certainly don't want pneumonia again or any of us to get this virus!

So stay safe, and take care both.

Time to watch Gogglebox now.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

I think the eye vision that is still missing is a minute spot in the central vision as i can almost tell the time on my watch with the bad eye, but because the centre gets bigger the further away i look, its like a V the bottom of the V being the centre of the eye and the further you go away the bigger the blind area becomes so i don't know if it will improve more till i see the clinic again it would be great if it did, but i will be explaining to them what has happened, even the big centre black area i used to see has gone and been replaced by a very faint haze which is great.

I still need the cataract op on the right eye but i don't think they will do it till the left eye can take over.

Yes, thats an idea, i can order a great meal for her, she will like that, she loves a takeaway, its on a Sunday as well.

Looking at the weather forecast here for the next 2 weeks i can't see any rain, but the forecast can change.

Sorry to hear daughter suffering from Sinus problem, hope the spray will help.

The Covid-19 virus was first found in China on December 1st but it was all vovered uo and when they said they might close down the area everyone left the country and they left the airports open, they told everyone in China that it was fine ands they had a cure and not to worry, then they told all the Chinese that it had come from the USA and was spreading fast so everyone went back to China, they hid the figures, hid the sick, wouldn't allow the sick into hospital so everyone was dying at home.

Read this Pamphlet. : https://en.minghui.org/html/ar...2020/7/6/185760.html

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky Very sunny here today ....and I slept quite well  That being said , I’ve not done a lot ....just cleaned kitchen , fed the birds , and managed to find another load of washing Apart from that I’ve done naff all .....had pork chops for dinner , and I’m now watching a recording of Poirot Hope you are also having a nice , relaxing day

Awwww Mollie ....I’m sorry you couldn’t find the Gogglebox thread ....I should have said , it’s in the Big Brother forum.....where you used to post for the sewing  programme ....as there only a few of us we don’t bother going elsewhere ....so just start all the programme threads in there Did you enjoy it anyway ? I’m not sure about some of the new families ....but Lee and Jenny had me in stitches as usual I wouldn’t be surprised if you had had Covid ...I’m sure two of our forum members who were really poorly in December also had it . I hope the new meds clears up your daughters sinuses Hicky , glad you managed to stock up with flour etc ....something tells me that we might need it quite soon !A takeaway sounds a perfect birthday present to me I’m glad at least some of your sight is improving

Not sure what I’m watching tonight ....apart from a repeat of Michael Palins Pole to Pole on bbc4 .....but whatever you are both doing , have a good evening and stay safe

PS GPs Behind Closed Doors is one of my favourite programmes ....it fascinated me

Baz

Evening Baz.

Glad you slep well, thats so needed isn't it.

Only 17c here but sunny all day, better than expected, but with a fresh breeze.

You found more washing, do you hide it, so funny.

Yes, the flour from the UK will be hit hard this year with the dreadful summer, it has hit everything really, who wants to go out and travel in a miserable summer.

Yes, my bad eye, so strange how it changed after that injection, will have to ask why and what it means.

I pulled my Showmaster onions up as they were ready, have put them in the greenhouse for now to start the drying out.

Watched the F1 racing to get pole position, Lewis managed it again, should be a good race tomorrow as most of the track is flat out at 200mph, how they corner at 180mph i don't know.

Had a kipper for brekkie, had fruit midday, for tea decided to have the last of the stuffed peppers, very nice, will be making them aga.

When i get more smoled bacon i'm going to make those eggs with bacon around them like the video i posted.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep tight.

Baz

Glad to hear you slept well, don't worry about not doing much,  that is what weekends are for and I don't think anyone is going to come and check up on you.

Gosh, I never thought to look for the Gogglebox forum where you were before in Big Brother section, silly me.

I agree, not keen on the newbies, but Jenny and Lee have not lost their touch, they are as funny as ever.

I also like the 2 elderly Bristolian ladies.

I am watching Britains Got Telent tonight, not so good as last week though, but still watchable.

Hicky

That's good you think MrsH will like a Take Away. As she does, it will be a nice treat for her. (and you too if you get one where you can get something you like too. ).

Is her birthday tomorrow or next Sunday?

Hope the hospital can give you some answers about the eye improvement, but even if they can't,  as long as it has improved is great news.

Let me know how you get on with the bacon eggs.

Sounds like your garden produce is coming on well now.

My family (and me!) all enjoyed the lemon iced blueberry cupcakes my son helped me make today, (well he made them and I read the recipe and just squeezed the lemons).

My daughter has started antibiotics for the painfull sinus, it kept her awake again last night, she had to hold a hot water bottle next to it all night and take pain killers. The doc rang her back about it.

Thanks for the virus link Hicky, I will take a look later.

This is about the family who proved the virus was going round in Dec in UK.

https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/...rus-christmas-china/

Her dad Peter Attwood, 84, became ill with a mystery cough and fever shortly after Christmas — more than two months before officials discovered the virus was spreading in Britain.

Peter died in hospital in January, with heart failure and pneumonia initially blamed.

But tests have now shown Covid was a cause of death — making him the UK’s first recorded virus victim and the first outside China.

Jane, who fears he caught it off her, fell ill with Covid symptoms on December 15 — meaning the deadly bug could have been spreading here at least two weeks before China said it even existed.

Nice day here today so 3 washloads done and dried, and doggie went for her walk. Had curried lentils for tea that I had bought from Costco. Family had chicken curry.

Goodnight both , hope you sleep well. xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Her birthday is not this week, her card came today, its in a box, very nice too.

The hospital eye clinic has been looking after my eyes for years i think, will have to dig the paperwork out, never throw any paper out.

I'll order the bacon for the bacon egg snacks next week, we haven't been to the farm shop so have been getting some from the store.

those cupcakes sound delicious, and you can put lots of stuff in, whatever is in stock.

Does you daughter have the vaper inhaler that you rub on your chest and then breath it all night, think thats what we had for that.

Yes, i know the CCP kept the virus under cover and threatened anyone who spoke, terrible, they need to be held to account, but how.

Mrs H did a few loads of washing etc, it was a nice day for drying with the wind.

Glad doggie got her walk.

I watched the end of the 2019 Love Island USA so i can start on this years now.

We finished the chess game, i won this one, we use the computer on the site to analyse it to see how many errors we make, plenty usually.

Brekkie will be mushrooms, eggs, tomatoes, black pud, bacon and maybe beans and toast.

Have a beef joint for dinner tomorrow, will do cauli and spuds.

Stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Evening All.

Not a bad day today, 21c with sun all day and a moderate breeze.

A big spider dropped onto me while i was under the Kiwi berry vine, i brushed it off, so i thought, later on in the kitchen i felt something move on my chest, i felt the area and there was a bump, gave it a press through my shirt then pulled my shirt up and this big spider fell to the floor, it didn't run off so i put a tissue over it and helped it to die a peacful death then put the tissue with mrs spider in the bin.

Had bacon, egg, sausage, black pud, tomato and mushrooms for brekkie.

For tea made a beef dinner with spuds, cauli and gravy.

Been watching the F1 from Italy, Lewis won again.

Going to make a white loaf tomorrow, it seems a long time since i made one.

Will have to look what is on tv tonight, if not much will start the new Love Island recordings.

Had a vid call this morning with family in Oz, always good to see and chat.

Hope you had a good day, stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

both xxx

Baz

hope you are having a good Sunday, and slept ok last night.

Hicky

How nice you got a Sunday morning video call from Oz. When is baby 2 due for them?

glad you like the birthday card, I think MrsH will be so pleased to receive a boxed card.

Didn't think of suggesting the vapour inhaler, good idea, I have some somewhere, will dig it out.

We too were lucky enough to have a lovely hot and sunny day. I sat on the swingchair and the doggie had a shower in the bath (which she hates as it is hard for her to stand now with arthritis). But at least she got to enjoy sitting in the warm sun all afternoon without getting too hot whilst her fur dried nicely.

Oh my goodness what a scary enounter with a spider that was! Pity you had squashed it before you could put it out though.

I too had a cooked brekkie with MrM and son...had baked beans, mushrooms, fried bread, grilled tomatoes (done in the Halogen oven, which we find very usefull. Have you ever had one Hicky?), coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice.  MrM and son had bacon and eggs too that son makes for them.

Watched the Big Family programme and Horrible Neighbours (gosh they are awful!), now going to watch Strike and record the new Singapore programme on itv.  As you were in Singapore Hicky, are you going to watch it?

Have a good evening both xx

M

Evening Mollie.

Can't remember what baby due, before Christmas, will have to ask Mrs H.

it was a good job it was a spider and not a wasp, it would have stung me.

Yes, i had a halogen oven but wasn't happy with it, can't remember why now.

I'm recording Singapore grip as got emergency rescue on now.

Have a good evening, sleep tight.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky It’s sunny and hot here ! I slept very badly ....went to bed at midnight, woke up at 3 ....and only dozed from then on  Consequently, I’ve not done an awful lot today .I did a load of washing , cleaned bathroom , fed birds,  and anti bac’d my M&S delivery There was only one sub .....which I declined ....but everything else was there ....so vanilla cheesecake for tea tonight  Plus I ordered a new duvet set .....didn’t really need one ....but duvet sets and towels are my weakness Hope everyone else is having a good day , whatever you are doing

Mollie, I like the elderly ladies too ...... I agree with Hicky , try the vapour thing My mum....who was a nurse ....was a great believer in Vicks vapour rub when I was a kid ....we hated it , but it certainly did the job Are you going to watch the  Des programme on itv tonight ....it’s a three part series about the serial killer Denis Nielsen , with David Tennant ?Hicky , I’m sure Mrs H will love her card But about the spiderMr B was a softee and would never kill them ....and I had to learn not to ....so I’ve got a spider catcher thingy Not long now until SCD , but I read they won’t be going to Blackpool this year

Well my duvet set just arrived , so it’s ironing time Hope you both have a good evening , and stay safe

Baz

Evening Baz.

Sorry to hear you didn't s;eep much, such a blow after going to bed late.

You did an awful lot for someone who didn't do much, wow, you should rest.

Hope the cheesecake came up to scratch, you deserve it, don't think buying what you don't need is really economical, pleasing mind.

Had soft-ish boiled eggs for brekkie, had fruit midday, for rea decided to finish the yesterdays veg and meat, the meat was dreadful, i can't stand gristle in meat, i couldn't see it of course or could have removed it before cooking, couldn't see it after cookinf either so when i sliced the beef i sliced in the gristle as well, disaster, had a probolem yesterday trying to eat it, same today, binned it.

Made a loaf, put 1 tbsp of malted flour into it and a few seeds, just used strong white flour, put it in the oven at 200c as usual, left for 30 mins as usual, it seemed fine, sounded hollow looked a nice colour, let it go cold then found out it wasn't cooked inside, maybe i shouldn't have used so much malted flour, had to bin it, will make another tomorrow.

Yes, i remember the Vicks Vapour Rub well as a lad, it works ok thats the main thing.

I've hung the big onions on the garage wall, i have a heavy gauge steel wire running across that is redundant now but i never removed it.

I agree you should never kill a spider, i wouldn't have but with it getting stuck in my shirt i had damaged it when reacting to something, didn't know it was a spider, good job it was.

They say spiders in the house keep your house free of bugs, and as far as i know, the outside spiders and inside ones are not the same, some species live outside and some inside.

What is a spider catcher thing?

When does SCD start, not bothered if they don't go to Blackpool.

Take care, sleep tight.

Hicky

both

Baz

sorry you did not sleep too well, maybe you got a bit too hot, as the weather has got a lot warmer lately. Hpe you sleep better tonight. I usually wake about 4 or 5am so just listen to Steve Alan on LBC radio chatting away as he is so funny. I recommend him, but for those outside London you need intenet radio or phone to tune in to it.

That is good you are enjoying your M and S shop and only had one sub. I have ordered again for next week as the food was so good, and I liked the way they invoiced and packed it in carrier bags clearly separted into Fridge, Frozen etc. They even use different coloured bags for different food types, which is pretty impressive. I am hoping that there are not so may missing items next week though.

Vanilla cheesecake for tea sounds just the job. I looked for it on my order, is it the 2 single slices or a whole one you get? Think it was New York cheesecake slices I found.

What pattern/colour is your duvet set? Nice to treat yourself with a delivery now and again whilst you are not able to go out.

Yes I will watch the David Tennant series, but not sure I am going to like the sinister type story it tells very much though. (I saw him on itv's This Morning talking about it).

Hicky

Gosh yes it was a good job it was a spider down your shirt and not a wasp! (as I have seen a few wasps around now).

Pity the meat on your tea was not enjoyable. And what a shame your loaf did not come out right either.

We too have one of those spider catchers, it is a plastic thing you put over it and enclose it , then take it outside to free it.

Very hot here today, sat out for awhile under the shade umbrella but then had to sit in garage, as it was so hot.

Took doggie to vets for check up as we had run out of her arthtritis and eye meds. You can't take your pet in the surgery now, vet had to come out to you and your pet to see you and the pet.

Everything so complicated since covid. I reckon the vets must be more tired at work now as they have so much walking to do now.

Tv time now.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie. :

I see what you mean with the spider cater, i used to use a plastic tumbler and slide a piece of paper underneath.

I should have tested the loaf to see if it was cooked but the malted flour must have changed everything as nothing else really changed, i did use olive oil instead of butter, but only 25g.

Had a swing on the swing seat, quite nice really.

Didn't realise you couldn't go into the vets place, what a pain.

Have a good eveing, sleep tight.

Evening All.

Not a bad day at 25c sunny at times with hardly any wind.

Had bacon and egg on toast, had some reaper chilli burgers for tea, wow, hotski.

Made a loaf with a recipe from the back of the bag of flour we ger from the supermarket, it is white and i added a tbsp of seed, it has turned out fantastic, so pleased, baked at 210c for 33 minutes, will send Mollie a picture.

Had a swing outside as it was rather nice, it's 25c now by the computer.

Mrs H has decided she will have a steak dinner for her birthday but doesn't trust the takeaways so will buy it and make it herself, i will make the chips for her and i'll order food to be delivered, so thats sorted.

Been watching some videos of the Grandmasters of chess playing fast games against members in either 3 minute games or 10 minute games, so good.

Take care and hope you find good programs to watch, and sleep tight.

The loaf recipe.

Hi Both xxx

Baz

hope you slept ok last night.

Hicky

a very warm day here too today, which was great as it gave me chance to sit in the garden with my friend and her daughter's doggie. I served her her fave cheese and tomatoe on toast, 2 coffees and 2 blueberry cakes so she was well chuffed. The dog got to share my doggie's food and treats, so he was happy too.

Did you make your own chilli burgers?

Thank you for the bread recipe, it sounds yummy, will ask MrM to give it a go, as he tends to be the bread maker.

Sounds like MrsH has a special birthday meal all planned out.

Hope the forecast is right and we get to keep this nice weather awhile.

Doggie enjoyed her walk and her wheelie in the pram. The vet thinks the pram is ideal to get an older arthtritic dog out in the fresh air. She loves looking all around her as we wheel her along, and it gives me something to hold onto if my legs or ankle are playing up.

Tv time now, All Creatures Great and Small.

And the David Tennant sinister true thriller.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

That was lovely having some time with your friend and her doggie, you had a nice day for it anyway.

I didn't make the chili burgers, they were recommended by no. 5 son as he loves spice so much, they are made with the Californian Reaper Chili.

Mrs H loves her steak, i'm not so bothered, even the way and colour of the onions has to be perfect so she won't let me make the meal, with my eyes it wouldn't be a good idea, bad enough when they were good.

I agree, the doggie buggy is fantastic, it lets the dog join you when you go out, that can't be bad, yes, as you say, it is also support if you need it.

I'm starting to watch the new Love Island USA, it's in Caesars Palace Las Vegas, omg, going to enjoy this for 6 weeks.

Stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky Cloudy and much cooler here ....which suits me I slept quite well last night ....but after yesterday’s marathon my ankle is a bit sore , so  I’ve not done a lot today Just a load of washing and cleaned the kitchen . Apart from that a parcel I was expecting arrived a day early . I was intending doing a bit more in the garden , but curled up with a book instead I had M&S bacon chops , cheese and potato croquettes and honey roast parsnips for lunch ....and my obligatory banana I hope you are all having a good day , whatever you are doing

Mollie, are you enjoying the David Tennant programme ? I think it’s been quite well handled . Awwww glad your doggie enjoys her walk in the buggy ....I have visions of her royally waving a paw to people as they pass Hicky , is All Creatures good ? I’ve recorded the series , but not watched it yet . The original was one of my husbands favourite programmes .....we have most of that series recorded too .... so I will have to wait for a day when I’m feeling emotionally  strong to watch the new one

I’ll be watching  Mary Berry , and the reruns of Gogglebox on E4 tonight ...so that’s my viewing sorted Hope you both have a good evening too ....and stay safe

Baz

Good Evening Baz.

Glad you slept better, thats good, you do so much in a day, it wears me out just reading it. Ha ha, your poor ankle, you should give it a rest, poor ankle.

I get an email saying Thursday or Friday, then one saying its been sent, then one saying its coming Wednesday, then one saying its coming Tuesday, so annoying as if i'm in alone i can't go in the garden incase i miss the delivery.

What are bacon chops?, unless they are bacon bones/ribs.

I had a cheese and tomato toastie for brekkie, and i made crab sandwiches with my fresh bread, well it was fresh yesterday, i keep it wrapped in clingfilm, will probably freeze the rest tomorrow.

It was Mollie that said she was going to watch All creatures, i just watch what is on sometimes, depending on what i am doing on the computer, i'm always doing something, watch so many chess videos, watching The Farmers Country Showdown, i enjoy that.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well again.

glad you slept ok, maybe because it had been too hot the night before, it disturbed your sleep?

Oh dear at your poor ankle, a sign you maybe need to slow down and not overdo it too soon.

Good idea to rest your ankle by curling up with a book today instead of tackling the garden.

Sounds like an enjoyable lunch you had there.

I am finding the David Tennant programme interesting, as he is such a good actor, but what a terrible story!

Yes doggie does look very important in her pram the way she just sits there looking around. I have a special yelow hanky tied to the front of it saying "Be Nice, Arthritic" from the doggie arthritic society, because it has been known for passers by to make nasty comments about my dog being in a pram! So nasty some people are. On the other hand I have spoken to others with doggie prams, there are quite a few go down the seafront, and inevitable their dogs are either getting over an op or too elderly to walk far and the owner sees the doggie pram as a means of them (and the dog) not being stuck indoors.

Aaawww yes you will need to time watching All Creatures as you used to watch with your hubby, so it is bound to have some happy but sad memories.

Hicky

how annoying the delivery are messing you about so much, hope they sort it soon.

Sounds like MrsH has her special birthday lunch well planned as she knows just how she wants it.

We had some camambert in the oven with salad and crusty bread for tea as it was so hot in our kitchen, son nor I didn't feel like cooking much.

Very hot in the garden today so I just sat on the swingchair for a short while.

Time to watch part 3 of David Tennant, am recording All Creatures as I enjoyed it so much last week.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

The delivery changes is Amazon, its nice to get stuff earlier but you can't plan when to stay in the house, it's ok if Mrs H is in of course.

I am going to order 2 days food on Sunday, 2 tubs of hot and sour soup, 2 chop suey rolls, beef and tomato with separate rice and beef extra hot curry with separate rice, in fact when you get the rice separate the dish with the meal in will last me 2 days, so 2 days food will last 4 days, hows that, and i've got loads of rice anyway.

For tea i made crab sandwiches with the fresh bread, so tasty.

I had a swing on the swing seat, very nice.

Just been watching the GM Eric Rosen he has his own web site as well, a great narrator so is easy to follow in the games.

Gave my shopping list to Mrs H for the morning, i try to get up before she gets in to put my stuff away.

Stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Evening All.

Not too bad today, 20c sunny with a gentle breeze.

Had sausages on toast for brekkie, dug out a lamb curry for tea.

The gardener came, dug up the red rooster spuds, wow, a bucket full, some are massive, will take a picture when they dry out a bit, have laid them in an old supermarket veg/fruit tray thingie to dry out with a sheet of brown paper over them.

My shopping arrived, all present and correct, the Autumn Royal grapes are almost rip so gave 2 bunches to gardener and 2 to next door, got MIL & SIL popping in tomorrow so will give them some grapes.

Threw all the celery plants out, the stalks are too thin and we won't eat it anyway, had about 12 plants, binned the old Corn plants.

I know why i have so many trees growing in the tubs and raised beds, the acorns are falling and bouncing everywhere, picked up loads from the slate, next door says she keeps getting a visit from a fox.

Had a delivery yesterday which was a set of zesters/graters/ for cheese and lemons etc, and a laser rule, today had a delivery of 100 foil food containers, the long ones that you used to get from the takeaway.

Today i ordered a set of measuring spoons and cups as i think i have thrown all mine out so wanted a new tablespoon measure and a teaspoon but also need a cup etc as i found a new loaf recipe and its all in cups/half cup/quarter cup etc.

I also ordered a new power adapter for the greenhouse camera as the other power unit failed so camera wouldn't work.

Have a good evening, sleep tight.

Hicky

Baz

hope you slept ok and had a good day.

Hicky

that is good planning ordering the 2 days food and making it last 4 days.

You said you would try and get up before MrsH gets in, so does MrsH have to start work very early?

Well done getting a good crop of Red Rooster. ..should last you awhile.

That's handy MIL  and SIL are calling in to see you just at the time you have plenty of grapes to share round.

That's good your delivery came today. Do you use the foil tins to freeze your food?

Do you think the fox is eating the acorns?  They are such beautiful looking animals.

I hate these these American type recipes that use "cups" as measurements. Ridicuous, as a china tea cup is a completley different measure to a larger mug! I still find the old ounces the easiest to follow, but my kids all prefer using grams.

Hope you are more pleased with the new power adapter than the last one you had.

Another nice sunny day here , so I too sat in the swingchair.

The doggie enjoyed her little walk.

Me and MrM shared some of the big bag of salted peanuts we got from Costco for lunch.

We had pitta bread pizza with sweet potato chips for tea.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Mrs H doesn't work Thursday, she does the shopping, she is out about 7am and is back about 8.20am, i was just getting up as she arrived home this morning.

Friday/Saturday she starts work at 6am till 10am.

I like the foil tins to freeze food that can be reheated in the oven, if its in the plastic tubs i take it out into a small pan.

If these red rooster potatoes are a success i will be planting them next year they are superb, never grown potatoes this big in my life.

Yes. you cant use a mug as a cup in a recipe, a cup in a recipe is 128 g or 4.5 oz. i don't mind grams or anything really. quite happy with any measure.

I just like having a camera in the greenhouse looking out, i have a waterproof socket in there so can plug the mains adapter in, i put the leads in a ziplock bag of course, i can take the micro SD card out to see what is recorded, i set them to record day and night unless i put a timer in the line.

I need dusk to dawn sockets that come on in the day, but they all go off in the day which is no good to me.

Talking about big bags of salted peanuts, very pleased with these, i got 18 bags each holding 240g thats  4,320g 4.3kg wow, i'm on my second bag.

Glad you managed a walk with doggie, she will enjoy that.

Stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky Sunny and reasonably warm today . I slept really well last night....a full 7 hours I was quite busy this morning , changed , washed and ironed the sheets , hoovered upstairs and down, cleaned kitchen, anti bac’d the Sainsbury delivery , and paid the credit card Now I’m collapsed on the sofa watching Des .....which I’ve found very good . Hope you are all having a good day , whatever you are doing

Mollie , I found Des fascinating ....in a macabre sort of way ....and David Tennant was brilliant . My only criticism was the actual filming was so dark at times ....and I couldn’t help remembering that the book guy was played by the actor who also played the guy who was wrongly accused of murdering a woman a couple of years ago ....and I found that a bit distracting I can’t believe that people could be so cruel about your dog ....like you say there are some truly nasty people about Hicky , whoops ...sorry about mixing up the All Creatures You talk about me doing too much , but just reading what you manage to cram into every day wears me out I love crab sandwiches ....they are yummy

Well it’s GW ....and Gogglebox tonight ....so an easy evenings viewing for me If you fancy joining us for the latter Mollie the thread is in the Big Brother forum Have a good evening both....and stay safe

Baz

Evening Baz.

Pleased to hear you slep well, but the amount you do in a day would put me asleep for a week, heavens, your poor body must think its in the Olympics.

I had visitors, SIl & MIL came, we had some finger food in the garden it was nice, only 18c but sun all day with a slight breeze.

I gave them Bunches of grapes to take home also some rather large onions as MIL like to boil one and has it with butter and pepper, gave SIL a bag of apples, Scrumptious and Red Falstaff.

Just had eggs on toast for brekkie, had the finger food midday then made shrimp sandwiches with mayo and sliced toms.

Have found another bread recipe, going to try the dried active yeast for a change, love trying stuff out.

I have 3 more dressed crabs in the freezer, pretty sure its something i will be repeat buying as nothing compares and the selection of fish and shellfish etc is really fantastic, take a look around the link.

Here: https://www.thefishsociety.co..../shellfish/crab/?p=1

I do nothing compared to what you do in a day, i can do just a little work and i run out of breath, in the house it's not the same as i can rest more if need be.

Take care, stay safe and keep sleeping well.

Oh, there's darts on again today tomorrow and Sunday on ITV4 8 till midnight.

Evening All.

Not a bad day here at 19c sunny with a moderate breeze.

Didn't do a lot, had a vid call from Oz that was nice as always.

Had kippers and smoked bacon for brekkie, fruit midday and for tea heated a pile of chicken wings that Mrs H had cooked for yesterday when we had visitors, she cooked rather a lot, i like the wingy piece rather thatn the leg with meat on, i covered them in BBQ sauce as she had bought those as well.

Had another delivery, my cup measures and spoon ones as well to make my next type of loaf, but i have ordered the dried active yeast as it looks interesting.

I had one of the scrumptious apples from the tree, they are ready to be picked, told Mrs H, i think the Red Falstaff are ready as well.

I watched a couple of the Love Island recording today, doubt if i will be able to catch up though.

Stay safe and sleep tight.

that is good you got a full 7 hours sleep.   You have been busy again.

I too found Des really interesting, As you say David Tennant acted the part really well. Did you watch the documentary he compared about it on night 4, that too was interesting.

Didn't have chance to join you for Gogglebox last night, but thanks for asking, hopefully I will make ti soon. I did watch today though. So funny, as usual.

Hicky

MrsH is an early starter, but I think it is good to start and finish early, as you still have plenty of the day left when work is finished. I assume she gets the shopping early whilst it is quiet in the store?

We were at costco today for 9.30am which is when they open for trade members. (who get in an hour before other members). It was nice and quiet, could choose an aisle that was empty, got it quickly and was out before they opened for all members. feel tired out though after, and achy too as son didnt'want to come (he starts his Uni course Monday so preferred a lie in), which meant I had to push one trolley and MrM the other one. My friend always likes me to get her something, so  we need 2 trolleys to fit in the big packs of water/toilet and kitchen roll.

I see you too are fond of salted peanuts, good job they are so good for you.

That was lucky the weather was so good when your SIL and MIL came so you could sit outside. Always best to be outdoors as the virus germs dont' spread outdoors. I bet they were delighted with the produce you gave them.

Glad you have your darts to enjoy.

I had takeaway jacket potato with beans/cheese for lunch today from Costco. and for tea we had frozen Costco pizza with M and S curly fries. Very nice.

Really warm again today, so sat in the garden on swingchair for awhile as I was exhausted after Costco. Had to take ibuprofen tonight as my shoulders were so achy after pushing the trolley in a rush so we couldl do the shop quickly.

Was busy yesterday trying to help son sort student finance out, they still haven't sorted it! We gave the right email and they typed it in wrong, so another hold up. I expect it is because they are so busy now.

Nearly time to watch BGT semi final. That cute sign language choir are on tonight, I saw the young girl and her little brother who set it up on This Morning. Her brother has special needs and the professionals told them her little brother would not be able to do anything himself, not walk, nor communicate. So this lovely young girl said she wouldn't give up on him and taught him sign language, and she proved the specialists wrong, he can communicate with the help of sign languagr. She is so patient with him.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Yes, Mrs H can get in and out pretty quick, she knows which isle the stuff is on, she makes her shopping list out adding mine in and puts it in aisle order, she scans it as she goes round so doesn't have to put the stuff on the belt, she just goes and pays, a lot quicker.

Yes, if you buy in bulk in Costco you need 2 trolleys, we stopped buying water as our tap water is so good to drink, when i was down south the water was awful.

The weather has been lovely for a few days now, rain back Wednesday.

Yes, pushing that trolley round takes its toll, you will have to rest your shoulders now for a while.

That is annoying when people can't even type in email addresses, happens a lot.

I'm recording BGT so i can cut out what i don't want.

Been watching chess videos, grandmasters playing in competitions, they get 3 minutes a game, but sometimes they cut their time down to 90 seconds.

Have a good day tomorrow, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Another sunny, if a bit chilly , day....but apparently winter is arriving later in the week I slept well , and definitely feel better than I did yesterday .....(I was very poorly on Friday night .....not sure if it was my ibs , or something I ate ),  although I’m still a bit washed out . But I had some breakfast , and a bite of lunch ....so time will tell I haven’t done much today , just a load of washing , cleaned kitchen and fed birds . I should have cleaned bathroom , I just don’t have enough energy right now ! I hope you are all enjoying your Sunday , whatever you are doing

Mollie , hope you feel,a bit better today I have recorded the RL Nilsson programme and intend watching it this afternoon I thought Gogglebox was good , although tbh I could do without so much COVID stuff in it ...I watch for some light relief Hicky, glad you had a nice visit with your MIL and SILDid you watch the Strictly programme yesterday ? I didn’t , but wondered if it was worth watching on Catch Up . I’m looking forward to Bake Off , but not sure about the new guy .....I guess time will tell

Well , I hope you both have a good evening ....whatever you are doing ....and stay safe

Baz

Evening Baz.

You mean Autumn, that arrives Wednesday, it was 19c here today with sun and a moderate breeze, pretty nice really.

For Mrs H's Birthday she made herself a steak dinner, i decided on a takeaway delivery, yummy, ÂĢ25 worth, but the chop suey rolls were so good io gave one to Mrs H for her Birthday, hate spoiling her but it is her Birthday so what the hell.

Glad you slept well, it does make a difference, you need a good sleep after not being too good Friday night, hope you are ok now anyway.

I didn't know there was a Strictly program on so didn't watch or record.

For the Birthday celebration, i ordered 2 x hot & sour soup, 2 x chop suey rolls, beef and tomato with separate rice, beef in extra hot curry with separate rice, that lot will last a few days as one meal last 2 days.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky
