Manchester Yooonited.

I really want to watch Chicha play tonight, trouble is kick off is at 2 am our time.

It's frustrating Disley, when you identify a player and that brings everyone else sniffing around. Drives me mad but I guess it speaks about the power of agents. The minute they know someones interested in their boy they start pimping him out all over to try to get something better.

Some enterprising gooner has put Denilson up for sale on Ebay, some of the comments are funny too

England kick off in the Ladies World cup tonight at 5, it's live online on the Beeb website if anyone is interested.

Crunchy I saw the link you put up re the Hearts story - thanks. I just don't see how the club can keep him on. Given the prediliction for violence in Scottish football, that is an assault waiting to happen

I heard this weekend that it's suspected that New Guinea's women's team has 2 sisters that are actually men who couldn't make the men's team.

Do you know anything about that, Veggie?

Lori

I haven't heard about that Lori but nothing would surprise me. I swear that the Williams sisters are actually men.

Joe - The beeb were supposed to have it on their website but it wasn't anywhere. I phoned the Beeb - it took 45 minutes to get hold of a human being who, after directing me where to click, which I had obviously tried for 10 minutes before phoning them, conceded that someone had made an almighty cock up and not linked it

I understand from other sites that we were a bit rubbish - mainly down to Hope Powells usual tactical ineptitude

I've found this article about this story. (And it's Equatorial Guinea, not New Guinea which is a different country. There's also Guinea, so to have 3 countries with Guinea in their name does make it very confusing )

Edited - Both Friday's match against New Zealand and next Tuesday's match against Japan are due to be shown on Freeview channel 301 - kick off for both of these is 17:15.

Thanks El Loro but I don't have freeview, we only have terrestrial tele here as our old set top box doesn't work. We do most of our viewing online and the Beeb did say it was available online - they just didn't hook it up apparently. I expect they are using all the space they have for the tennis you can watch online

Oops! Wrong Guinea!

Thanks, El Loro. Didn't mean to cast aspersions on New Guinea.

You'll be glad to know that in Papua New Guinea they no longer go round head shrinking

I saw him play against our kids in a youth cup game at Barnet and he tore them apart. He could be a really good player with the right guidance and Steve Bruce knows what he's about with the kids

The trend for big-money young (English) signings continues!

I had hoped to see what he was all about during the Euro U21's but he didn't seem to figure.

It's ridiculous really. James Milner, Andy Carroll, Ashley Young and now Jordan Henderson, Phil Jones and Conor Wickham all going for ridiculous fees, miles more than what they are worth.

Good luck to Roberto di Matteo at Chelsea!  Really, really pleased for him.  Good to see him back in football again and wish him every success next season apart from when he plays us obviously.  Hope the fans give him a good reception at the Hawthorns as well.

ION, I see the Birmingham soap opera continues, with their owner now being arrested in Hong Kong for money laundering and their acting chairman (who has rather a lot to say for himself) saying on their website that it is nothing for the fans to worry about.  Well, if I was a Bluenose, frankly I would be worried and not wanting this man as the owner of my club.

Speaking as a fan of a club that over the past 25 years or so has had it's fair share of ups and downs, it has been a strange summer for us so far.... everything seems to be on the up for us and clubs which have traditionally always been secure like Villa have had some major upsets.  I'm just hoping that the "feel good" factor that we have had for the last few months continues and that we can carry on from last season's successes and become for once and for all an established Premier League team

Thanks El Loro, I was watching it on there - happy days.

As to the game, still not happy with Hope Powell's team selection or tactics. She really is a liability.

Eni Aloku has been absolutely pants for both games and yet still she picks her! She takes the most experienced CB in the world and Captain with five minutes to go and puts on an untried baby when we were protecting a one goal lead in a must win match - and that goalkeeper is continuing the not so proud tradition of England goalkeeping.

Still we won and there were some bright moments. Kelly Smith looked a lot better and Jill Scott (much as I hate her) was immense
