Re my poser yesterday, if you convert 16 C to F you get about 61 F which is 16 backwards and for 28 C you get about 82 F which is 28 backwards - those are the only two 2 digits numbers like that.

Seen some 27 times since 1950 in the UK and the first time in Gloucestershire since May 1946. That was at Northleach so not at the Trust which was formed by Peter Scott in the same year.

Am unusual piece of music on Radio 3 yesterday evening:
L´Uelh del Vesent by Johan Merckx. It was in a programme of late Renaissance/early Italian baroque music which would be between 1520 and 1630 though I think it may be a modern piece influenced by music of that time.

Moonie, this is Terry Gilliam's Beware of the Elephants. According to the Wiki article on the Monty Pythons he did this for the series "Do Not Adjust Your Sets" possibly early 1968 before Monty Python came into existence. The series had Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin in (also a certain David Jason). It was shown on ITV children's television.
Oh, and note the music starting about a minute in.

Next week's Radio Times includes a reprint of their pages from the July 10 1969 issue which were about the Apollo 11 moon mission (take off 16 July 1969, landed 20 July, first walk 21 July).
On the last page of the insert they mention a new science fiction series with the first episode shown on Saturday 12th. It was shown a few years after the USA showed it. The first episode was "Where No Man Has Gone Before" so you know what I'm referring to.
