That's much better news about your swans and cygnets, Moonie, there must be a cob there after all

I hope you are feeling better

These babies are the results of when the cob was alive El

I‘m not really feeling much better but have a doctors appointment for 4pm so will see what happens after that

I understand, Moonie about the cob. I didn't know how long along he was killed.

I hope all goes well with your appointment

Hi Yogi

I was so surprised to see them on the big pool with their mum 😀😀😀

Change of meds. It will take a couple of days to kick in 😊

I hope you had a lovely time with the “Duracell Two”

Good afternoon all I’m queuing at blood donors so thought I’d pop in to catch up while I can! My mum and I are having a nice time thank you, she will return home tomorrow

lol at your Duracell bunnies, I’m glad all tiddlers are well and enjoying life

moonie i hope you soon feel better what was going on with Serena??! I’m not a fan of hers, but I do respect her achievements

our local swans are doing well but a few days ago I helplessly saw one attacking some adorable baby geese since then , the gaggle has gone from 7 to 4

El, I hope your workload is going smoothly?

Summer, I hope all goes well at the blood donors

I've been spending the day on printing those GDPR documents and getting them ready to post. It's a lengthy process.

Hi Sweet

Fankoo 😊

It was what she was wearing when she played yesterday at the French Open Tennis championship. You should google it

Swans hate geese with a vengeance

Also when they are young they are vulnerable to attack but all sorts of predators, as are swans and any other water fowl. They have even been known to be taken by large fish too 😮

I saw two of last years cygnets take to wing in pursuit of a fleeing fully grown goose 😮😮😮

Moonie

Done the major part of the work in getting the GDPR documents to my clients. They are now all in envelopes. I've ordered the stamps from Royal Mail, they should arrive either tomorrow or Friday. Then it's a case of taking them to the local post office.

I've been able to keep the weight of each envelope to 97 grams. I'm having to use large envelopes so have to use the large size stamps, and the price goes up if the weight goes over 100 grams.

The local post office is a small one inside a convenience store. Considering the number of envelopes, it would cause quite a time if I took them there without getting them stamped beforehand so would inconvenience other customers.

Evening all

Keira became very unwell in the early hours of the morning - no idea why I woke and went down to check on her. Sadly, it was another attack of vestibular disease, and much more severe than the one last September.

We asked for the vet to do a home visit, and tbh, we knew in our hearts we were going to have to make the worst decision ever.

The vet, who was so kind and gentle, said she was just “done” and we were all in agreement that putting her to sleep was the kindest thing to do.

I console myself that she died at home with the people who love her and, it was completely stress free for her.

I know she had a really good life with us and never knew anything but love and kindness and, she gave so much back to us - it was easy to love her but letting her go was so difficult.

I’ve cried loads today and I fill up whenever I talk about her but I’m so glad she was a huge part of our lives for the past thirteen and a half years.

Keep that avi!

I've  looked at it plenty of times.

Dogs break your heart when they go  but I know she was in good  hands.

But they're always between the ears.

I'm so sorry Yogi

Don’t worry, I’ll keep my avi - can’t imagine having a different one.

I know you know how it feels - it’s the price we pay for having the joy and love they bring to our lives.

Yogi19

Oh no! That's so sad. I'm glad she didn't suffer though. I know your hearts will be bruised for weeks. She was a brilliant dog and I think we all felt she was part of our families too. Some dogs are just special.  I have one or two still in my heart years later.

I completely agree with you, and Keira will always stay in my heart.

Awwww that’s very sad and tragic news Yogi

She is in a better place now. No pain, no suffering just peace

No one could have looked after a family member as well as you looked after Keira. She had nothing but love and kindness

Heart felt condolences on the loss of you lovely girl ❤️❤️❤️🤗🤗🤗

Good morning everyone

Thank you Ros, Summer, Moonie and El for your kind words and of course Squiggle and Velvet for last night, you have no idea how much I appreciate them

MrY thinks I need a distraction so he’s taking me out and about today.

Have a good day all.

That's a good idea Yogi I am sure it will help a little.  The biggest comfort is that dear Keira is not suffering the bewilderment and confusion of why she doesn't feel like she normally does, you have spared her that.  The last act of love that you could give her. Say a little prayer today to the God who loves all of us that He may find a green meadow for Keira to run and play like she was a puppy again. God bless.

Enjoy your day everyone

Met Office has issued amber warning for my area from later this afternoon to 6 tomorrow morning for rain and thunderstorms.

Thought I should mention this in case I'm unable to post.

What to expect

  • Flooding of homes and businesses is likely and could happen quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds.
  • Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, delays and some cancellations to train, bus and air services are likely.
  • Spray and sudden flooding probably leading to difficult driving conditions and some road closures and some communities likely to become cut off if roads flood.
  • Power cuts likely to occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.

Good morning everyone

Very very humid here but all my “outdoor”  chores are done so am now waiting for the storms that have been forecast, to get here

Have a nice day everyone and watch out for those storms

Thanks Velvet

The risk of power cuts is more likely than the house being flooded - there's no history of houses in my road ever having been flooded and that includes the famous 20 July 2007 flood. There's no client meetings arranged for today and I don't have to post those GDPR envelopes today, they can wait until tomorrow.

El Loro

Thanks Moonie

I think the storm risk for your area is less than here. The latest Met Office forecast is for 3 lots of thundery weather for me, 2 to 4 this afternoon, 6 to 8 this evening and midnight to 2 am overnight.
