That's lovely, Squiggle. I love butterflies.

Good morning everyone, Yogi and Summer hope you both slept well, you were so tired.  I slept in until 8 which is late for me.  And Skylark too of course hope you slept well and are starting to feel better.

Good luck with the course EL,  I hope it's interesting and you won't need any of these to keep your eyes open

Loyal Dog Does Something Incredible for 6 Years

The story of Captain, a loyal German Shepherd dog, will truly touch your hearts. You might need a tissue for this one...

For the last six years, Captain has stayed by his owner's side. Nothing could tear him from his dearest companion - even death.

Captain ran away from his home once his owner and best friend, Manuel Guzman, died in 2006. A week later Manuel's family found Captain in the most unlikely of places. The dog was at Manuel's gravesite located in the same town of Cordoba, Argentina.

According to Manuel's widow Veronica, "We had never taken him to the cemetery so it is a mystery how he managed to find the place."

Now, for the past six years, the Guzman family goes to the cemetery to visit Manuel - and Captain. Although the dog will sometimes leave the cemetery to visit his family and eat, he always returns there to keep a vigil for the best friend he lost.

"I don't think he wanted to leave Manuel on his own at night," Veronica told the Sun.

The staff at the cemetery happily feed and take care of Captain during the day and don't restrict him from visiting Manuel whenever he would like.

“During the day he sometimes has a walk around the cemetery, but always rushes back to the grave. And every day, at six o’clock sharp, he lies down on top of the grave and stays there all night," according to one of the staff members.
Although it's hard on the family, they let Captain stay by Manuel's side.
Now THAT is a story of unconditional love.

good afternoon Chilly and wet here, I think it may soon be time to change to my winter boots and socks because my toes are cold again! Bless the little dog, he must have had a really good bond with his owner. I already can't bear the thought of being without Bramble, I'm determined to enjoy every day with her while she's here. I keep telling myself off for getting so attached too, I felt at a loss this morning when I left for work because she isn't with me today lol How was the course El? And how is your day going Squiggle?
~Sparkling Summer~
Squiggle, that's a lovely story and it made me a bit teary. IMO, it is yet more proof (if it were required) that real love never dies. Summer, I understand your fear about losing Bramble and I feel the same about Keira. When the time comes, I will try to console myself with the knowledge that she has had a great life, and has only known love and kindness El, thank you for the link. Those pictures are amazing!

So I went to the tax course this afternoon only to discover that it was this morning . I place my courses through a local firm of accountants and they tend not to send me the joining instructions. The course venue is only a couple of miles away so not a lot of time wasted. The course lecturer was still there and I had a quick word with him as to if there had been any developments re the possible simplification of accounts for small businesses. That was the main thing of interest to me. He said there had been no developments - they were still talking about it.

Yogi, I checked back on the original courses booklet for this year and I had got the time wrong. As I had already been on a tax update course 6 months ago after the budget it's unlikely that I would have missed anything important. Someone I know may have gone on the course and I've left a message on his answerphone to ring me if there was anything of importance. I keep myself up to date via accounting websites and tax newsletters so it's not a big problem for me.

Sounds to me like El only missed out on the refreshments I'm pleased it wasn't a far journey for you anyway My day is going just fine thank you Squiggle, I've changed into my boots and put an extra pair of socks on! Did I tell you I had our duvet washed? It's much warmer now Yogi, you are right, bramble and Keira will both know only a good life so that is definitely something. I know I will meet her again over the other side anyway, but I will miss her terribly. I hope she lives a long time!

Stunning images EL, you can't get your head around, not one star but a billion stars for each dot, amazing.

Glad you managed to get your duvet washed Summer, my washing machine takes both my summer and winter (single) duvets.  It's nice to put a clean one on and I really love the feeling of the heavy winter one going on, so cosy.  You wait until I get my lovely cosy winter nighties I look forward to being as snug as a bug in a rug.

Good morning everyone

Cloudy but dry here, may be a bit of rain later on. Nice sunny day tomorrow but downhill from then on.

If you haven't already spotted it, The Paradise is a new series starting on BBC1 next Tuesday at 9pm. It will be of interest to all those who liked Lark Rise to Candleford as it's written by the same writer. It's set in 1875 and is set in a northern city where a country girl arrives to work in a department store. I see that Ruby Bentall (who played Minnie in Lark Rise) appears in the first episode. Sarah Lancashire also appears (she provided the voice over of the adult Laura in Lark Rise).

Good morning Summer. No special plans for the weekend, as Mr Yogi is working. I think my middle son will visit me on Saturday afernoon and I need to go to M&S at some point for a few bits for my holiday. I hope you have a lovely time with your mum.

Yogi19

Summer, I'm expecting it to be a relatively quiet weekend for me compared to last weekend's excitement. Next weekend my brother will be visiting. This will be the first time in 10 weeks due to the Olympics and Paralympics.

I've been out this morning seeing a new client. He keeps his records using a bank package. His mother keeps an eagle eye over him and keeps a separate set of records. I made it clear that I'm not going to start dealing with 2 sets of records and that I will use his. She's friendly enough, but is a bit of a sergeant-major as she admits.

I agree Summer, there's a boundary line in being a concerned mother and a martinet   So Yogi where shall we pack for?

Was Asterion the bull one? I'll make sure I keep out of his way.

Yes, Asterion was the name of the minotaur. I'm glad you know the Greek myths otherwise you wouldn't have had a clue what I was on about

Squiggle, we went to Corfu around 13 years ago, but this will be our first visit to Crete. We have arranged a hire car and Mr Yogi will be our driver for the week - I'm not confident enough to drive on the "wrong" side of the road. What a gorgeous pup, is he a springer spaniel? What's his name and how old is he? El, my knowledge of Greek Mythology is patchy to say the least, so I'm glad I was on the right track.
