Good morning everyone

Raining and breezy here - the current weather forecast has got it wrong.

Yogi, I'm glad you had a good day with the tiddlers

Summer, I watched that walks countdown yesterday and won't say which was voted as the number 1 walk. Considering that 100 walks were mentioned I was surprised that the Cotswolds didn't get a mention, nor some of the Gloucestershire woodlands where in spring there can be spectacular bluebells displays, nor the Slad Valley = Cider with Rosie territory.

Here's the link to the Ordnance Survey page where you can get details of all the walks though of course is a spoiler:
https://www.ordnancesurvey.co....100-favourite-walks/

I hope everyone has a good day

Moonie, have you got your floor finished yet?

Hi Yogi

Yep, it’s all finished now. New skirting put down. Walls stripped down to the plaster

Just have to decided what we are going to do re the wall covering

Yay, that’s good news.

Do you have a colour scheme in mind?

That’s still ongoing Yogi

Hope it doesn’t take as long af the floor to come to a conclusion

No, no, no it won’t

I usually decide on a colour, then can’t find any wallpaper I like in that colour

We are two blokes, me and  my nephew. So could take a while yet

Good morning everyone, a bright morning with no rain so far, I must be dreaming   I'm the same with wallpaper and paint Yogi, I know exactly what I want but finding it is the hard bit.

Enjoy your day everyone

Exactly, Squiggle

Evening all

We had a good day with the tiddlers, They made pizzas from scratch with grandad.

Hope you’ve all had a good day.

Glad you had a lovely day with the little ones Yogi

Moonie

Good morning sunny and bright here, although wet from the overnight rain.

Thanks for the link El I stopped at no. 50 last night.

I’m going to guess the top walk will be a Wainwright in the Lake District; either scafell Pike (because it’s the biggest), haystacks (because it’s where Wainwrights ashes were scattered) or Hellvelyn (because of striding edge & the beautful Tarn).

Hellvelyn is my personal favourite, I thought it was the most stunning, but also because it was the first summit I saw in decent weather! Several others were misty with no views. Hellvelyn was clear and wonderous I even saw a rainbow during the descent 🌈😁

I did make a mental note of the bronte walk at no 69 (I think!), I hadn’t heard of it before and am keen to do it now

do you all ever wish we could teleport?!

I do!

Where would you go first??

~Sparkling Summer~

Good morning everyone and it's another wet morning with heavy lowering cloud.  So sad today to wake up and find that my BB winner the lovely Amanda Barry was evicted last night.  She looks amazing for 82 and I haven't heard a nasty word come out of her mouth all the time she's been in there.  A true lady with a sympathetic ear for everyone and straight from the shoulder riposte when needed.  It cracked me up when Shane J was trying to manipulate her into being anti-Ann to see the look on her face.  You have to get up a lot earlier in the morning Shane to pull the wool over Amanda's eyes.

Enjoy your day everyone

Good morning all

I woke to a light dusting of snow.

Squiggle, I agree with everything you said about Amanda. I thought she was a great HM and has a fantastic attitude to life.

lol Moonie, I hope you and your nephew can find something you like soon

I’m sorry I missed the programme on the walks. I’m not a keen walker (understatement ) but I like seeing the beautiful scenery

Have a good day, everyone

We went to the garden centre - didn’t buy any plants but went for lunch in the cafe

We saw a big stone swan ornament for outdoors - the swans were making a heart shape with their head and necks

Moonie, nowadays a blue moon tends to be applied to a second full moon in a month which occurred last month. More correctly, a season such as spring would usually have 3 full moons, but sometimes there can be 4 and that 4th one is then a blue moon - hence the phrase "once in a blue moon" makes more sense.

It is thought that originally the old word beleve, which meant to betray, was the word used, but over time that became blue. In the Christian church it is customary to fast during the season of Lent. Easter Sunday occurs within 7 days after the first full moon of the start of the spring season (which in ecclesiastical terms is 21 March). That's why Easter Sunday varies so much from year to year. The way the season of Lent used to be measured meant that normally people would fast for 1 lunar cycle but sometimes had to fast for 2 so felt betrayed. They had expected to start with that they would just fast for a month but then were told, no, it's two months.

I got an email overnight saying that an attempt had been made to access my non-existent Netflix account by an unknown person and the email showed the IP address and country of that person. I needed to access my account on the link shown.

I knew that this was a phishing email, but normally Virgin Media email recognises that this type of email is phishing and puts it into the spam folder, but this one wasn't recognised as such.

Moonie, take care if you do decide to go out as there have been reports of a dragon on the loose.

There's such a thing as a draconic month. It is so called as there is a dragon which lives in the lunar nodes. It comes out of hiding whenever there is an eclipse of either the sun or the moon and gobbles up whichever is being eclipsed. Overnight there was a full lunar eclipse in parts of the world - that was what was causing the moon to turn blood red.

Although the eclipse is over, what has happened to the dragon?

Afternoon all

It’s bright but chilly, up here.

El, MrY got one of those Netflix phishing emails yesterday. We do have a Nextflix account but he knew it was a scam.

Moonie, I hope you don’t get blown away in the gale.

Squiggle, my neighbours’ snowdrops are blooming, so Spring must be on its way

Summer, you are giving up lots for Lent, well done you
