Summer, I've just been doing some local shopping so don't need to go out again until tomorrow afternoon when the wind should have died down a bit.

Tonight's named storm is the earliest one, in the previous two years the first one didn't occur until November. I hope the farmers have been getting on with their harvesting else their crops could be destroyed.

At the local Co-op spotted a pack of Muller yoghurts with a use by date of the 9th - they were underneath some which weren't out of date - so I passed it over to an assisstant. Bought next week's Radio Times. When I got home I found that it was living up to its title - virtually all the TV listing pages were missing (51-114). Took it back to get it replaced - looks as if it was a one off as the other copies seemed OK.

Good morning everyone

Sunny and breezy here, showers forecast for later. No obvious storm damage here but it wasn't as windy here as elsewhere. I hope no-one here has been affected by that storm.

I am collecting the boxes of records of my annual big client this morning. It's about 3 weeks earlier than last year which is just as well. It will keep me busy over the next couple of months. I want to get the accounts to the larger firm of accountants to process the final accounts before the end of November as they will have to do them in the new FRS 102 format rather than the FRSSE format we've been using for some years so I don't want them doing the accounts in a mad rush to get them done before the Christmas break.

Visit to the dentist after lunch for the double filling I mentioned.

I hope everyone has a good day

Your shopping trip sounds like a scene from a sitcom open all hours springs to mind

im glad no storm damage has occurred, I hope you had a nice evening

Good morning all.

Yesterday was busy but good fun with the tiddlers

Keira is eating but not full meals. I discovered she will eat most things if the children give her them, so I gave BB stuff to "drop" from his highchair for her, and PB hand fed her with tinned meat (for humans). Left to her own devices, ATM Keira would only eat tinned ham, toast and Quavers I'm just glad she is eating something.

Hope all goes well at the dentist, El.

Good luck with the utility bills, Summer. We've just swapped our supplier and should make a saving.

Squiggle, I hope it's not too windy where you are.

Hubby and I are off on a short break tomorrow, and I still have packing to do. Middle son and DiL are dog sitting Keira in our house as we felt it might be a bit much for my dad because she isn't fully recovered yet. So, I now have a spare bed to change after the tiddlers sleepover

Have a good day, everyone.

Summer, it was a bit Open all Hours at the co-op yesterday, not like that usually A white van parked on the large pavement at the corner of the road decided to  sound the alarm every few minutes just as I was going to bed. So I put in some wax plugs. That stopped me hearing the alarm but also meant that I didn't notice if there were howling gales during the night.

I hope your mum succeeds with her negotiations

Yogi, I'm glad you had a good time with the tiddlers yesterday and hope your break goes well. I hope Keira's appetite improves but at least she's eating somethings

Wow yogi you are a busy bee indeed!!!!! I'm glad keira is on the up and I love your plan on getting the children to feed her I hope you have a fabulous trip away, you deserve the break

ive just saved a whopping ÂĢ39 per month by switching my broadband & phone line rental to sky, from BT. BT couldn't offer me anything close to sky's great offer, and their customer service team weren't even half as helpful either

Thanks Velvet re the Big One

I use Virgin Media. I'm happy to stay with them as the problems I had before when I was using a BT line were such that I don't have a lot of choice. I believe that the BT line from the telegraph pole to the house is corroded to the point that although a phone signal gets through, broadband doesn't. There's also the point that strong winds won't affect connection.

Afternoon all

Thanks everyone, my girly finally ate some dog food - mixed with tinned ham

I've been running about like a headless chicken, getting ready for going away. How come, MrY's only input to going away, seems to be getting the case down from the loft? I'm shattered.

Well done on your broadband saving, Summer, and I hope Squiggle gets her broadband sorted out too.
