Good morning everyone

Rained here overnight, but a sunny morning now, though forecast is for showers this afternoon.

Thanks Yogi My brother is due to visit me in just over a week's time for the weekend, and it's just possible he might bring a cake with him

I've just had a birthday card from the couple at church who invite for me meals from time to time. Apparently it is George Herbert day. He was an Welsh born English poet back in the early 17th century and wrote the lyrics for some hymns. One of the most famous is "Let all the world in every corner sing".

The music is called Luckington which was written by Basil Harwood. That's the version that I am most familiar with though there is a version by Vaughan Williams.

That's something nice to look forward to, El.

In the meantime, you can have some chocolate eclair cakes I bought at Morrisons.

Summer, our recent chat about bolognaise put me in the mood for it. Guess what I'm making for dinner tonight?

Btw, I add a couple of teaspoonfuls of sugar to tomato based sauces - according to some chefs it brings out the taste of the tomatoes. It also neutralises the acid in the tomatoes, which means I can eat it without upsetting my stomach.

Snow! Does it feel cold enough for snow?

Not at present, but it will do in my area tomorrow morning.

No, I don't need to. Even if it doesn't snow it's forecast to rain all morning tomorrow in my region and with the wind the temperature will feel like it's between zero and 3 so not a day to go out for one of Summer's 16 mile walks.

Stay indoors in the warmth, El.

Sorry I vanished earlier- how typical, I had just told baz it was really quiet at work and then a load of people walked in!

If El makes a snow parrot, he better take some pics!

That's just typical, isn't it?! Mind you, I find the time goes faster when you are busy.

I'm thinking of having an early night as I'm wilting again. If I suddenly disappear, you'll know why.

Ros I hope you're enjoying half term night night

Yogi, sorry to didn't get reply earlier, we grabbed our coats and dashed out! We only saw a very faint green glow- it sounds like Scotland & Norfolk had the best display tonight.
Maybe next time... *crosses fingers*

I hope you sleep well, night night

Sweet dreams everyone, including our absent friends
~Sparkling Summer~

Good morning everyone. There was a very slight frost here, when I got up.

What a shame you didn't get to see the Northern Lights, Summer. Even when I lived right up north, I never managed to see them.

Lovely pic, El. They are very beautiful and mystical.

 @ 300 sleeps till Christmas.

Banking and housework awaits. Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone.  Wow Northern Lights, I thought they could only ever be seen in this country in Scotland or in counties close to the border

It's cold this morning but no frost.

I have 2 sets of workmen coming at 11, one a plumber to quote for a new boiler and one a builder to quote for cladding the fascias and soffits.  And then one other builder coming at 1 also to quote for the fascias and soffits.  Then one final one coming at 1 tomorrow, also a local builder to quote on the fascias and soffits.  Oh and they are also going to quote for a new roof on my small conservatory and possibly a new back door.  Then off to the dentist with my grandson.  Apart from that a very quiet day

Enjoy your day everyone, lovely pic EL, fancy seeing that in Gloucestershire.
