Slim, not much new of interest on the Talking Pictures tv channel during the coming week. On Friday at 2 in the morning is a 1947 American film called "Trapped". It's a noirish pseudo-documentary style film (a genre popular at the time) which starred Lloyd Bridges. He played the role of a convicted counterfeiter given the chance of an early parole by Secret Service agents if he helps to recover some bogus counterfeiting plates but he plans to double cross them.
It was directed by Richard Fleischer, his first feature film where he was credited with that name, he mad made a few before as Richard O Fleischer He started off his directing career in the film noir genre, the most notable being the original "The Narrow Margin" (1952) which is regarded as one of the best B movies ever made.

Thank you El

I'm not sure about 'Trapped', but 'The Narrow Margin' looks interesting (the full film is on You Tube )

Slim I didn't mention that the Talking Pictures tv channel is showing "The Fast Lady" (1962) tomorrow afternoon at 12.35. It's been shown before. Although it stars Stanley Baxter, this is very different from his television series. Film features Leslie Phillips. Although he was credited above Stanley Baxter, his is a supporting role, Baxter is the lead. Film also stars Julie Christie in her second feature film role. The Fast Lady refers to a vintage sports car Baxter buys from Phillips.
Christie's father was played by James Robertson Justice.
The film is a charming light comedy, although it's not an outstanding film, it's surprisingly watchable. It was directed by Ken Annakin who would go on to direct "Monte Carlo or Bust"

The official trailer for the film is somewhat misleading and to be avoided.

Gloucestershire had a good first day at Leicestershire today closing on 385 for 2.
That includes an opening partnership of 316 between Cameron Bancroft and Ben Charlesworth. That beat the previous record for an opening partnership against Leicestershire of 315 back in 1937. That was by Yorkshire,
The two Yorkshire players wee Herbert Sutcliffe and Len Hutton. Anyone who is interested in cricket is likely to heard of that two,
