X-Box360 help needed!!!!!

My son has a 360 and it's got a problem.

When he's playing it, two red lights, on the on/off button ,come on, the screen goes blank and then the whole thing turns off.

Why??

Can it be cured?????

I am a complete novice and have no idea how they work...but any solutions or advice will be shown to my son and he can try them out.

Please help...it's the hols soon and we all know it will piddle down cos the sun is shining now!!!!!!

What type of x-box is it, an elite, standard.

Could be graphics chip and will have to be sent off. Ring microsoft and they will tell you how or if you have to pay. I hope this is ok because I have asked the three teenagers standing in from of me and they are all in agreement. Hope this helps.
