Not been much of a visitor to these parts in quite some time. Been enjoying working my way through the posts of Carnelian. So, today I have started a few days off work, four consecutive to be precise.I'm a bit pi**ed off with work at present and came home needing some energy so I will kick off with Orbital and see where it takes me.

   Sup with work?

@Saint it's been a slow creep of additional duties. The original job was great, interesting and I looked forward to work. But it's getting to the point now that it's a struggle to get things done, I'm not enjoying it and have already told the boss I will be gone in 18 months if I don't find something else in the dept that interests me. The 18 months is to allow for some potential restructuring and increase in numbers, giving me the opportunity to move. Also, in the public sector, things move at a glacial pace, so to me that sounds like a reasonable timeframe.

 Oh i've been there too

When you don't want all the cr*p dumped on you its,

"Aren't you enthusiastic to learn?"

You're being used but it will be twisted as lack of motivation.

@Saint It would seem you very much know where I am. I'm trying to knuckle down and see out the 18 months. There are better days than others. Covid-19 has probably come at the right time. It's deflecting slightly some of the issues. I have however just spent over ÂĢ220 on movies in a sale.  Compensating with retail therapy I think.

I would have put here "Quiet Life" by Japan but I've put it out here so many times that it must bore so many.  Still love it, but thought I wouldn't inflict it on Japan not liking Philistines.

To be fair @Carnelian I am a big fan of Japan and never bore of your Japan posts. I too post faves a lot.

Thanks EC, IMO Japan are so underrated and now tagged as an "art rock" band!  Perhaps belittled by David Sylvian's appeal to teenage girls at the time.  Many (including my sister)  fancied DS at the time but didn't get what a great vocalist and musician he was too and a part of such a talented band. Talented musicians and with such musical experimentation.   It's a shame they split in 1982, they could have conquered the world on their own terms.
