Hi Ensign,
You have me at a disadvantage, I take it Trine 2 is a game?
I'm not a games player.
More importantly, are you winning?
Pretty good thanks.

I know what you mean, my rise time is somewhere between 8.30 and 9.30, but I would ideally like to get up around 7.45.

I changed the second as it was linking to a site that blocks link forwarding. Funny but I could see it!
I can see the second one now..........it looks like it's been 'edited' I like the first one better

Undoubtedly it's been edited, but what I like about it is how the flowers stand out against the grey background. Really focuses the eyes in. I like a lot of different photography

I watched The Sound of Music today for the first time. I liked the Austrian scenery, that picture was inspired by the film

It's not a bad film TBH. I have to admit though, it did take me a few years to get round to watching too
I think the head nun (is that the right word?) solved a problem like Maria in the first act. She gave her the responsibility (children's governess) that she needed. She also placed her somewhere that she needed to understand and 'manage' a relationship with the head of the house who was clearly holding a lot of emotional baggage.
Ãķstereich - you are a well travelled individual GJ
I'm really enjoying the space in this thread. It's so relaxing.
Hello o o o o o o o o o o o o
Cavernous
Just tried. Are you referring to the TV series?
Thanks. Pleased you like my personal ever changing art gallery Baz.
I like the vinyl too. Most of the pics are much larger if you want to view in another window.
My Dad loved them along with Pontefract Cakes.
Seeing as how you're not watching BB EC, erin put up a link to the dance psychologist bit on BBBOTS that you wanted to watch.
It's after the ads and then ff about 15 mins.

Thanks Xochi, I spotted it earlier and will give it a watch at some point when I've finished my catching up. I'm not avid watching, but getting the odd summary.
Cheers.
Good to see Smash Hits Best mag eveeeer!
I love the combination of science fiction and the 1952's comic art.

It's a smorgasbord of disparate art and unconnected discussion.

I'm flitting between washing pots, ironing a shirt, eating up some yoghurt and making the odd post here. I did see the secret life of cats - that was interesting Jen.
You got them Baz...
Apparently the blue powder is :
It a particular colour Baz, but they also say it is used as a pigment in paint.
The red one is saffron, yes?
The red one is saffron, yes?
Hi Xochi. Are you asking me if saffron is used as a pigment in paint? I'd have to engage the Google-machine to find out.
The red one is saffron, yes?
Saffron is a spice usually found in cuisine and can range from deep red to pale yellow, depending on which variety of crocus it comes from.
Last one today - did you see the latest ones over the page?
Ah, never used the app, so not familiar with it's layout Baz. Is that the app mentioned in the sticky?
So what will you do? Buy a new laptop or tablet?
But you will still be able to use the iPad via a browser instead of the app won't you.
I had a quick look and noticed that Apple has an accessibility page which details some tools which you may find of help, one is called zoom.
That's not good, you obviously need it to stay put once you set it. I'll keep my eyes peeled, if I spot anything I will let you know. Maybe other browsers offer more useful features.
Is it good or bad that I can/can only name 3 of them?
Is it good or bad that I can/can only name 3 of them?
I think it's a good thing, after all it is a good number of years since they were all in the public eye I guess. But since you asked I can't name the other two assuming you already know Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jnr. But from memory and I'm not cheating by looking it up I think the other two are Peter Lawford and Joey !!!!!!! Doh! I may be in the ball park - someone will correct me.
ooh, those names feel familiar!
Ooh I was so close. Glad I had a stab before checking
One of my classic questions at work is to ask someone to name the magnificent seven. They usually can't name Horst Buchholz or possibly Brad Dexter.
I could have named Horst, but would have struggled over Brad.
I guess it's a theme.
That one's easy - Clint Westwater
That one's easy - Clint Westwater
Close, Clump Eastbud
He is however my favourite movie star.
I quite like the juxtaposition of colour in the fields with the angry sky. The leafless tree almost goading the sky as it stretches a stark branch or two toward the clouds.
Yes I do and I like your thoughts. The earth goading the sky with it's own form of strike.
We should be art critics Baz
I reckon we could give them a run for their money EC And I did actually do some art history at uni ...

When the local constabulary pulled me over I was accused of a similar amount
Could not resist.

Cheers Baz, can't guarantee they will all be to your liking.
Haha! Hadn't realised that before.
The viaduct actually carries a railway line.
I have been through the Glen both on the railway and on the little road that passes under the viaduct. The loch is Loch Shiel and is about 35 miles west of Fort William.

Superb scenery, will have to add it to my list of things to do when I retire (I would not want to be restricted to just a week or two, seems to me I would need months to enjoy everything).
Have you been there when it snows Fluffs ?
Or is it inaccessible?
Are there any photographers books that you know of featuring these scenes or similar? I would appreciate it if you could suggest a few
I've put Neptune's Staircase on my list of places to visit Fluffs. It looks fab
Try Amazon for books, or the tourist information bureau.

You actually passed within a whisker on your recent Scottish holiday.
I'm loving the title change
Thanks Baz - It wil soon just become the short version
Hope you are well now.

That's good to hear
Not sure myself what the picture is about, I just found it abstract and pleasing.
It looks like cut out metal , looking through to wood???
Or could it be a punched metal sheet presenting a view of cascading golden strands.
Yes, .....I even thought the background could be hair EC . Does it have a title ?

In honour of all the trees I have struggled with today.
Awwww . ...but that's a lovely pic EC
Thanks Baz, I'm paying tribute to beautiful trees.
That one is interesting ..... Rather lonely .....
I think the sepia tone can give it that impression. There are no leaves on the trees, so it could be Autumn/Winter scene.

I'm thinking maybe Spring ...sun looks quite high in the sky

It could well be spring, I did not consider the sun's position. Good point.
I don't know where the other picture is taken, it's just called 'Fortress'. What a great place to live though.

China ? Russia ?
And I b et the internet connection is a bit ropey too
It feels like Russia or similar, Eastern Bloc. Unfortunately they don't give clues as to the location.

I'm really curious here. You posted this in July and edited in November. What took you 4 months to change?

It was the title. I wanted to reduce it down so that it did not take up so much space on the front page (it was very long).
Ah, okay.
Uranium mine in Niger taken from space.
It looks like a reindeer
Yes, it does a bit. Good spot Baz.
or
Robbie the robot.
NYC
Love this article - i want to be an URBAN EXPLORER - begining with Chernobyl
NYC
My favourite city I've never visited.
Seeing as I have it on the tellybox whilst I clean, I thought I would post the poster!
What is the difference between 'grinding' and 'tweaking'. I've poked it up and see none.
If I could afford it, I would buy this rocky outcrop and turn it into a Bond villain-eaq type lair. Could you imagine how cool it would be to live there?
it would be pretty cool EC !
I now believe it is featured in the Bond film "The Man With The Golden Gun" and can be seem from Scaramanga's island !!
Still want it though

Yes, I think it was
I saw that
Did you spot the part of the poster which says "not suitable for children"?
These days this would seem so tame to kids.
