is anyone doing anything for it/street party/bbq...ect
i can remember the silver jubilee in 1977 we had a fab street party
olivias school is having an outside party
and iv heard a few pubs are doing things
but no steet partys

Ditto, except I had to apply for Annual Leave for the Tuesday,
I'm not taking it off so I can enjoy the Jubilee, I'm taking it off because there'll be no bus service.

rules and regulations have changed for running street parties and the procedure for closing the road off is now quite costly and through your local council
you can still do pavement- park- pub car park- parties etc without the officialdom

There's one where me mum lives. I don't see any harm in celebrating something of this nature. I like what the East Germans called "old certainties" and the Queen is one of 'em. Hasn't put a foot wrong in decades.

That's how I feel, I don't mind Queenie - I'll probably watch something about it on telly, I got quite into Wills wedding in the end.

The wedding was lovely, my hangover was not !
My next door neighbours are having an afternoon tea party which is bound to turn into a very boozy do. It'll be a novel experience for me and Mr Woo to observe everyone under the influence

I'm not sure where you all work however it may be worth volunteering to let someone else have the day off. I have zero tolerance for Christmas and worked all of 'em for twenty odd years.

If I didn't have to rely on Public Transport then I'd be quite happy to work it Joe, but the Public transport will be taking the day off.

Just wondered.
I used to volunteer for all the religious holidays and then negotiated Saturdays for important stuff like football matches, or other days for music gigs and stuff.

My work is voluntary,5 days a week, flexible to suit,weekends a bonus,reward's priceless,time with my grandsons.
It must be an industrial shift system kinda thing then!
