So far I have had 2Amazon calls a day for the last 3 weeks,Mr KT has had his own batch too.....we don't have any Amazon accounts for a start!

Oven cleaning one has been around for a long time

A good source for information from the police and other people are The Next Door sites which cater for your immediate area

I’ve never heard of the oven cleaning one

Just had a phone call about my loft insulation and condensation. I put the phone down. It's a scam. Various councils have issued warnings about this for instance:

I had a call about oven cleaning this morning ....and thanks to this thread I put the phone down straight away , but can someone tell me exactly what the scam is please ?

Maybe they take a payment and never turn up?

You should ask if it's half price if you've got a self cleaning oven LOL

It's not necessarily a scam as such, more of a nuisance call. They are supposed to check that a phone number isn't registered with TPS before they ring. They aren't doing that so are in breach. If they can't be bothered to comply with the rules relating to marketing, what else aren't they complying with? Would you want someone coming into your house at this time who can't be bothered to comply with the law?

A warning that criminals are sending text messages supposedly from the NHS saying that you are eligible for the vaccine and to click on a link for more information. You are then told that they need proof of your address by asking you for details of your debit/credit card so that they can verify the address.

Had a cold caller on the doorstep, after politely saying 'No thanks' for the third time and they were still there, rabbiting on, I closed the door on them!

Just received a scam call supposedly from Amazon. This is more serious than the Prime ones I've been getting . Recorded message saying that my Amazon account had had a suspicious order for £1,049 and to press 1 to speak to someone.

Just had a phone call from Chris. He said he was ringing back regarding insulation and condensation. When I said I hadn't spoken with him he said that it was because my house was on the database of houses which had received grants in the last 10 years for cavity wall or loft insulation. (that's not true, I knew this was just speculation).
When I said that I had done searches on cold callers, insulation and condensation and I knew this was a scam, the phone went dead.

Just had someone ring me claiming that I had won the postcode lottery.
This is a known scam - the caller wants you to give them your bank details.

Thanks El…..that’s a new one to me too.Mind you , I’ve just had fun with the old *your Internet is broken* scammer …..who now thinks I have a blue , green , and red light showing on my router , which has at least 6 computers attached to it …..and I hope he liked be put on hold to a very loud rendition of Handels Firework Suite!
