I saw scatterby's post and although I use Firefox I thought I would check this out in IE 8 (I use Windows XP so IE 9 isn't an option).

Firstly I get the same message about changing to another browser - and besides Firefox etc it does say Internet Explorer 8 which is what I was using and I know that this forum no longer supports IE 8 - I assume it should be saying IE 9.

Secondly I took a snapshot - attached - and it shows that the quoting icons which should be visible on scatterby's second post are not there - just the reporting and permalink icons. You will also see that our avatars are positioned above the post rather than to the left, and I suspect that this repositioning may be connected with why the quoting icons are missing. There is also an error message appearing right at the bottom left which presumably means that the page hasn't properly been displayed.

I hope this helps, though it doesn't explain why scatterby is having the same problem and is using IE 9.

OK, I am posting from a machine that has Vista and IE9, and I 1)didn't get a message to update browsers and  2)can see the quoting icons. Scatts, can you please check to make SURE that you are using IE9? Check the About Internet Explorer, under the little gear icon, upper righthand corner of the browser.

Next up....IE8!

Weird. Now I'm posting from IE 8 (XP), and I'm not getting the error message, and I can still see the quote icons.

I think you are right about the issue being that the page isn't loading completely, El Loro. I just don't  understand why the "update your browser" message is happening for either of you. My version of 8 is 8.0.6001.18702. What's yours?

The same (and my XP is with service pack 3).
