Well actually it's not all.....

I call my son "Duds" because when he was a toddler he couldn't pronounce his name properly and used to call himself "Dud Doo Cup". We've called him it ever since (much to his horror , he's nearly 20 now ), but it's gradually evolved over the years from "Dud Doo" to "Dudsy" to "Duds".

He has always been very worried that people would assume his name was Dudley.....and Baz finally confirmed all his deepest darkest fears the other day by falling into that very trap.

(she was all surprised when I suddenly called him by his real name.... and assumed I had another child I'd never mentioned once in the last 4 years. *points and laughs at Baz* )

ANYWAY!!!

Do you have any daft nicknames for your kids that they hate?

Hahahaha! I'm tempted to tell you.... but then I'm also tempted to wait and see what you come up with.

I'm trying to think what Dud Doo Cup sounds like... so far i've only got 'Buttercup', but doubt even you're that mental...

Its not what we think of our kids names but the folk they have to spend years with at school. So maybe a bit of forethought on how they will be perceived with their name in school maybe will help them in regards to bullying etc, like i said- an odd name may cause difficulties for a child that we as parents may not have thought of.
