Whether I choose Continue or Stop Script the problem persists every time I reply although my reply gets posted. It's annoying that this message keeps coming up. I use Firefox. Thanks for any help
I also use Firefox but have never received that message. Yesterday I found that I was having the whirring cogs when I posted here and also on a different website, when I clicked on a hyperlink it went to the wrong page.
I did two things. I cleared my browser cache which was getting rather full.
To clear the cache in Firefox:
- At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button ( menu in Windows XP) and then click
- Select the panel.
- Click on the Network tab.
- In the Cached Web Content section, click Clear Now
I also reset Firefox to its default state. At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button (Tools menu in Windows XP) and then click Troubleshooting information. Ignore all the tech stuff shown there and click on the Reset button which is in the top right corner.
Things like cookies and passwords will not be affected, but any extensions or plugins may be turned off or set to their default setting.
Doing those 2 things sorted out the problems for me, and I think there's a good chance it will sort things out for you. It's worth remembering the above for future reference as if you ever have off things happening with your browser, these do seem to work.
