Baz

glad you slept well, Best to rest if you get that weariness.

Yes Bake Off was great, those jellies were so clever, I was pleased it wasn't young Peter who left. He is such a sweetie.

I didn't have chance to watch Master Chef  after watching Bake Off. as it clashed for 15 mins, then it was half over by the time I had done a few catch up jobs. So I didn't bother. Did you enjoy it? Does it look like a good series?

Yes its such a pity that you are missing up on follow up care for your ankle because of covid. It was such a nasty injury that it is bound to be a long time until it is back to normal though , so do rest it if it starts to feel ucomfy.

Hicky

how exciting that you only have weeks to wait for another addition to your family.

Its about time HMRC moved on from only being able to send cheques, Hopefully it will be easier for you to sort this year. They sent me a cheque last year too. Flippen nuisance as I had to go into the bank with it, and had to stand in a queue in the rain as they restrict how many can go in. i think I will be able to sort direct payment this time though.

Thats good you were able to get in the garden again, and your netting came.

Its such a nuisance for you how this colour blindness make it difficult to read some stuff. Both of my boys have the same problem because of red/green colour blind.

We often store crumpets and they are fine. So that will be handy for you.

Had mini quiche (frozen ones from Costco) for tea, with veg. Then some more of my blueberry crumble from last night. I had a bit of mascapone with it as a change from custard. Very nice.

Bit dull/grey here all day but dry until tonight, which was fine, so we enjoyed our doggie walk. Pouring now though.

Going to watch A and E tonight.

Goodnight both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Yes hoping all goes well with the birth in the next couple of weeks.

I think i will pay the hmrc bill and get it out of the way, it plays on my mind and don't like that.

yes, i will draw up my plan for the netting cage, i have a drawing program that i use.

I have been into the settings for windows and set the colour filters and inverted colours, i am typing this on a black background, the text is either a green or yellow but any text stands out against black.

When you say you store crumpets, do you mean you freeze them?

I never get quiche just never think of putting them down for the shopping, i like them but food that doesn't last i have to remember to eat, oh, i see frozen ones, thas ok.

Glad at least you got a doggie walk, it goes dark so early now, i have to close the curtains so early.

I've been watching odd programs as when i am playing chess online i only half watch the tv.

Time to sort the dish washer out.

Stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Evening All.

12c light cloud and a fresh breeze, didn't do a lot.

Had 4 runny eggs and 2 crumpets for brekkie, made a loaf so i could have some nice crab abd shrimps for tea.

Did a bit more tidying in the garden ready for the vine frame so its easier to get at the area now, if the weather stays ok i will be able to get on, i can make some of the framework in the garage where the sawing machine is.

I see the pro partner of the female couple on Strictly have had to pull out as the pro has Covid asymptomatic, how on earth did she catch that i wonder.

Got my shopping, have wrapped and froze 10 crumpets, got lots of fruit etc but i don't need much.

One of my lads has ordered us an Afternoon tea from a local bakers, a big list of goodies, showed Mrs H, oh dear the only think she fancied was the After 8 Mints, she is so fussy, and the meal is for 2 so there will be a lot of food, too much to write here.

One of my lads wants to get me an iPhone for my birthday, but i have to find out if i can get a Nano sim and keep my number, this sim in my phone is a Micro.

I have F1 tomorrow ans all weekend again, so pleased about that.

Keep smiling and stay safe.

Yes always best to get a bill paid and out of the way if it plays on your mind.

I am typing this on a white background with black typing. Would that plain stye suit you better? I didn't know you could change it around.

Yes I meant to say I freeze crumpets, and they are ok. So that should be handy for you now as they are a lot cheaper, the more you buy and you have 10 frozen now.

It does seem to be getting dark very early now here too. By 4pm, we need lights on.

Its great you can keep your brain active with all the chess playing, and even half watch tv at the same time.

That's good you got round to making your loaf, we bought some more buttermilk, so hope to have more luck next time we try to make sourdough bread. I see you enjoyed some crumpets for brekkie. I bought the family some ghost shaped crumpets a couple of weeks ago.

Let's hope the weather stays good so you can get in the garden.

That's nice of your son to order you afternoon tea. Does it get delivered or do you go to the cafe at the bakers and eat there? Shame MrsH doesn't fancy a lot of it, oh well all the more for you! .

MrM has an iphone, but we find his reception is not as good with it here as the other phones me and the family have. But it is  quite an old one now. Baz said she has an iphone and seems pleased with it.

Sounds like the F1 is going to keep you busy.

Nice day today, so got most of my washing dry and enjoyed a walk with doggie.

Rang my dad's sister (she lives in Northampton) and she is in a lot of pain with her hip. so has gone on a wating list for a hip replacement . She suspects it is going to be a long wait.

Our Asda shop came today, so I antbacked it all.

We had pizza, chips and peas for tea, then I finished the last of my blueberry crumble with a bit of mascapone.

Watching GP show tonight.

Hope Baz is ok today.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Yes, paid HMRC, had to get that out of the way, i have been saving up to pay it for a while now so no problem, and done very quick.

You can change text size, colour, these, whatever you want, go into windows settings, you can do allsorts, in the mode i am using all background is black and the typing, not sure what it is, its not white but it stands out very well, Win key+ctrl+c reverses it but for some reason the text seems to be like a purple-ish.

I quite often watch tv, a video on the puter and play chess at the same time.

Haven't seen ghost shaped crumpets, but i don't go out, Mrs H gets me a few extras not on my list like a pack of smoked salmon and some packs of shrimps.

The afternoon tea from my lad will be delivered to the house, on the menu is, turkry stuffing and cran, maple roasted ham rocket & coleslaw, egg mayonaise, christmas sausage rolls, mini yorkshire filled with roast beef and horseradish cream, pig in blankets with cran sauce, millionaire cheesecake, christmas pud profiterole, mince pie, cream scone and after eight mints.

And she wont eat any food like that.

Never had an iPhone so can't comment on them, my lad has one though.

My replacement hip was one of the best things i ever had done, fantastic really.

Watching Masterchef for now, just depends whats on at the time.

At least you got a walk with doggie, its nice when the weather allows that for you.

I'll look at those photoes of the IAC camp, looking forward to that on Sunday.

Stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  It was sunny but cold this morning , but it’s clouded over and looking like rain now ....and I think stormy weather is in the way I had another restless night ....got to sleep ok , but I keep having disturbing dreams ....I haven’t done much today ....just some washing , a bit of cleaning , and anti bac'd my shopping delivery I had a couple of lamb steaks and chips for lunch , and now I’m chilling watching Great Pottery Throwdown I hope everyone else is having a good Friday

Mollie, yes , I’m quite enjoying this series of Masterchef ....and thanks for the pics of I’m a Celeb Trouble is there will be lots of clashes between the two programmes , so for a couple of nights a week I’m going to have to watch Celeb on plus 1 ! Sorry about your aunts hip ....another thing COVID has messed up Hicky , I have had iPhones for  the past 10 years , and I love them ....mostly because they are essentially  idiot proof The afternoon tea sounds really yummy , how lovely I saw that bit about strictly , and I also wondered how she caught it .....but  tbh I won’t miss them much .

Oh well it’s Gogglebox tonight , so something to look forward to Have a good evening both , and take care

Baz

Evening Baz.

Sorry you are having dreams, maybe you need to concentrate on something nice while you are trying to sleep to ward off other thoughts.

It was 12c today with sunny intervals and a fresh breeze, had bacon and egg with fried bread and 2 crumpets.

Didn't do much just some measuring up for the planned netting frame, and the proposed sizes i need to cut the netting into, i have started with 1 piece cut at 2.45m and 9 at 1.45m which just gets withing the 15m roll i bought, that will be 1 for the roof, 2 ends and 3 drops each side, the bottom will be the top of the raised bed, think i have enough wood for the frame, of course there is already a goal post type frame over the centre of the bed.

Fot tea with it being Friday i decided on fish fillet, sliced and battered and deep fried, the batter seemed too thick, the last lot seemed thin, and understanding the water 1:1.5 meant a powder to 1.5 water but didn't think that was right, so this time i made 1.5 parts powder to 1 part water and it was pretty thick, so don't understand, oh wait, it might mean water 1 - 1.5, which is a ot different, as it means add more than 1 to 1 if needed.

Your lamb steaks and chips sounds yummy, i'll have a piece of lamb leg Sunday.

I've been trying to contact the Vodafone customer service on the online chat but it doesn't seem to work, i will try again.

I watched Masterchef, it was ok.

I won't miss those 2 from Strictly, very strange dancing.

Its a pity Mrs H won't have any of the afternoon tea monday, she is such a fussy eater and won't eat any type of sauce, except mint sauce.

Have a good evening and stay safe.

Hicky

Evening All.

14c today but light rain showers and a fresh breeze.

Had cheese and tom on toast for brekkie, for tea i had pasta with some singapore curry, then 2 crumpets.

Didn't do much as i was watching F1 practice etc but the heavy rain messed it all up.

Couldn't get in the garden with the rain so just watch the tv.

Looking forward to Strictly, should be good with Anton as a judge standing in for Motsi who is in isolation as she went to Germany.

Been sorting out 10 years of invoices etc as i print a copy of everything i buy online, i also have some paperwork associated with what i bought, i have a sack for the recycle, a sack for the shredder a sack of files for the rubbish, they are the big office type files and i have a sack of invoices that have to be sorted still, never let a piece of paper with your details or address/email on it get into the recycle bin.

Have a good evening and stay safe.

Hicky

both

forgot to post last night..

got distracted watching Vera as its so long and recorded Gogglebox.

Baz

pity those dreams are gving your restless nights. Try and talk yourself into opening your eyes mid dream, and tell yourself before you go to bed that you are going to do this, I practised this for awhile and eventually it worked when I got a bad dream. (not all of the time but most now). Doesn't happen so often now either. and as Hicky says, think of something nice before sleep.

Yes too many clashes now, same the good programmes arent on different times.I have given up on Masterchef, too complicated as I enjoy Bake Off and the forum so much. Going to get more complicated now with IAC thrown into the mix, but best to have clashes than nothing to watch.

I definately won't miss those 2 women dancers, thought their dance last week was very poor and boring. Going to try and watch it tonight (without catch up involved if possible!).

Hicky

that's good you had saved for the tax bill (far too many celebs don't and end up bankrupt!), and also good you managed to pay it problem free.

That is certainly a long list of goodies for your afternoon tea treat. As MrsH doesn't like most of it, you won't go hungry for a long time! I am guessing there is nothing on the list you don't like?

I can see your netting is going to keep you busy. Shame the rain stopped you doing much today. We didn't get our dog walk in either as it was pouring.

It sounds quite difficult to work out the batter mix.

I am glad you were around on whatsap to help advise me with the sour dough loaf today as it turned our perfect this time, all the family liked it. Not much left of it already.

Good job you have your F1 to occupy your during this wet weather. But sounds like you have been busy with paperwork too.

Going to watch the dancing now. I nearly gave up on it last week when I started off seeing those 2 women dancers, but glad I stuck to it now they've gone and we have Anton as a judge. I like him.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Yes, it was very easy to pay the tax bill, about the easiest ever, and they even emailed a receipt, they didn't last year.

I eat anything so the chance of there being something on the afternoon tea i don't like is a million to 1, but i don't think the food will freeze.

No the batter mix will be ok now i can understand what they meant with the water 1:1.5 it means add the same quantity as the mix to start then add some more to get it as you want it.

Glad your Sourdough worked out ok, once you get it right you should be ok next time.

I didn't realise i had all these files of invoices etc from 2011, it took up so much room in the wardrobe, i emptied about 4 files into a sack, could hardly lift it, but the next 4 files i emptied and went through separating the ones for shredding, that took a couple of hours, i will haver to dump the files as i don't have room and not going to let them collect, i will just keep 3 years invoices.

I enjoyed Strictly, Anton was very good.

Stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Bit better day today . I slept ok ....apart from dreaming that I’d lost my purse ...which would take some doing seeing as I’ve only been out of the house /‘garden about 3 times since March I've been a bit more productive today too ....changed , washed and ironed the duvet cover ...done some cleaning , and had a nice pork chop and chips for lunch I also managed to get an M&S slot for tomorrow ....so all’s good in da hood Hope everyone else is having an enjoyable Sunday

Mollie , did you enjoy Strictly ( and the thread) last night ?I think the jive guy could be in trouble tonight . Are you looking forward to Celeb tonight ? If either of you are interested we have a thread I’m sticking with Masterchef and will have to watch Celeb on plus 1 Tuesday-Thursday   ....as several of us are ... but like you say , better to have too much to watch than too little Hicky , I agree , Anton was great as a judge Who do you think will go ? You seem to have been very busy

Oh well, it’s a marathon viewing night for me , starting with the Strictly results show I hope you both have a good evening . Take care

Baz

Evening Baz.

Glad you selpt ok, pity about the dream, hard to control those really, i had one one night, think i might have told Mollie, i was dreaming someone was trying to strangle me with their arm around my neck, the usual defence meckanism kicked in so i grabbed the arm and threw them over my shoulder, problem was, it wasn't an arm it was the duvet cover, i actually threw myself out of bed, landed upside down in between the bed and the wall, stuck, it took a couple of minutes to work out what had happened as it was dark and i was jammed in, what a dream that was., lukcy i didn't hurt myself.

11c here, it said heavy rain all day, but its been rather nice.

Had a kipper for brekkie with a round of toast as F1 was on the tv, had a vid call from my lad in Oz, granddaught so cute & bossy.

I dug up the other tub of carrots, the seeds came from the USA, very disappointing, they measured from 2cm to 3cm thats all, but i washed them and put them in the potato scraper machine which seemed happy enough, then put some asside for tea and blanched the rest, just doing a boneless piece of lamb leg, o/h gave me some cabbage/cauli to have with my boiled spuds, from the garden and run through the machine, will make some gravy now.

Enjoyed the F1, Lewis won, what a driver, looking forward to Strictly tonight and IAC from the castle.

Stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Baz

glad you slept a bit better and did not really lose your purse. You did well getting an M and S slot tomorrow.

Yes I enjoyed most dances last night (and the forum friends of course ) and did like Anton as a judge.

Unfortunately I think Max will go, as Caroline is popular, even though she didn't dance quite so well this week. Not keen on Maisie though. But can't see the judges ever voting her off!

I will try and join the IAC thread.

Hicky

at you wrestling with the duvet cover. Good job it was only that !

Aaww I bet your bossy grandaughter is so cute, won't be long until she has a younger brother to boss about as well.

Shame your carrots this time weren't so good.

Very cold wind here today, so only a short walk as the dog was shivering. She feels the cold now she is old.

Had a nice cooked brekkie this morning ,made another cherry crumble. Nice with fresh cream.

Tv time now, enjoy IAC. Wonder if you will all learn a bit of Welsh off it? Thik I told you MrM's 1st language is Welsh.

Have a good evening xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Yes, it shows how real dreams can be, maybe the cover had got a bit tight round my neck, i do actually pull the cover around my neck but i go from on my laft side to my right over and over, but it shows under certain dreams you could possibley get up and fall down stairs, haven't got any mind.

This lot of carrots were the finger ones from the states, i might have planted them too close, the vompost was fine but you are supposed to thin them out.

I thought you had a doffie coat to put on her in the cold.

I was going to do a full brekkie but with the F1 on i didn't want to spend that time in the kitchen.

I have recorded strictly results as i can't watch it all.

Just cooking some apple as i want it with some cream after.

Have a good night, enjoy the Jungle/Castle, stay safe.

Hicky

Evening All.

12c today, it said rain but none arrived, a fresh breeze did though.

Didn't do a lot, been sorting more invoices/delivery nots etc out, finished anyway, might take all winter to shred them, there must be 4 reams of paper now or more and can only shred 2 sheets at a time, and you can't burn paper very easy, well it wouldn't be burnt now as it goes in the air everywhere, and had enough troubl in the army burning the top secret docs every Friday night outside the Bunker with the RMP's watching.

My Afternoon tea arrived at 10.15am, been trying to eat the food all day, had just made brekkie when it arrived so gave Mrs H 2 of my sausages just cooked and a round of my toast, made from my bread.

Been watching darts all afternoon, now its darts 7pm - 11pm so will record IAC, darts all tomorrow as well, till Friday.

When the darts not on i will do some more shredding in the summerhouse.

The new Vaccines are looking good, gives us hope for the future.

Have a good evening and stay safe.

Hicky

both x

Baz

hope you slept well and are having a good day.

Hicky

at you not wanting to cook brekkie, so you don't miss the F1.

Sounds like your paperwork shredding is going to keep you busy. You always have an interesting little tale from your army days. Was the burning document tale from Singapore days?

That was a good job you hadn't eaten your brekkie when the afternoon tea arrived. And lucky for MrsH too, that she could eat that. What is your fave food from the afternoon tea so far? Hope it is good quality.

I enjoyed IAC, I thought they had converted the castle very well considering it had no roof and was derelect when they took it over, but I guess ITV had plenty of spare cash this year , as they didn't have to fund all those air fares to Oz to start with.   We recognised the area they were mountain climbing, as we visited the lighthouse in the background during summer 2019. (in Anglesey).   Not far from where MrM comes from.

Had showers most of the day, managed to get a quick walk in. Yes the dog does have her coat, but gets cold so easy now as she can't walk fast, so we have to use blankets in her pram now too. It wasn't too bad today though as the cold wind we had yesterday had eased.

Had jacket potato, beans, cheese and mayo for tea and fruit crumble and fresh cream.

Looking forward to IAC later, so must get organised.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Yes, every Friday night we had to take all the waste paper outside of the bunker and to a fire place close by, we couldn't do it in the bunker as there are no windows, chimneys etc and nonone allowed in, not even the police or visiting dignitaries.

The problem was we couldn't leave till all the paper was burnt and the falmes out as well as the smoke, a nightmare as its so hard to burn paper unless you screw each oiece up before you try to burn it.

The afternoon tea was fine, just that i had to eat for 2 people, the sandwiches were freshly made, everything was fine, as you know i eat anything, didn't really have a Fave, its just food.

I didn't realise thew Castle didn't have a roof, omg, very clever to convert, it looks good.

That cliff looked scary to be climbing, but you have to have faith in the riggers who set it up.

Yes, if the dog walks slow she isn't pumping the blood around fast enough, yes, she sure needs the coat.

Jacket potato, beans and cheese is a standard meal really, so popular, i'll have to work out what to have tomorrow now, brought a couple of fish fillets in from outside, will have 1 deep fried in batter Friday, i had a bit of lamb left over, and spuds from yesterday, forgot about them, the lamb was so tender, fantastic.

I've recorded iAC, will watch when i get time, stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Weather isn’t too bad today ....at least it’s not raining I slept on and off , so not a bad night . I’ve rescued the bin , done a load of washing and ironing , and am just about to hoover....if I can get my butt off the sofa I hope you are all having a good day , whatever you are doing .

Mollie , I am loving Celeb ....glad you are too And it’s the Bake Off semi final tonight ...I hope Hermine and Paul get through Like I said last night , because of Masterchef , at least three of us will be watching on plus 1 ....but will still comment on the thread once MC has finished See you for Bake Off though Hicky , sounds like you’ve been busy I don’t think we are allowed to burn paper outside in my area these days ....thankfully it wasn’t in 20 years ago when I needed to burn a load of stuff from my PhD research ! How are your eyes ?

Well , my viewing is sorted for tonight ...Bake Off , Masterchef , Celeb Have a good evening both ...and take care

Baz

sounds like another busy day Chez Baz.

Yes loving IAC, very amusing and fun and the castle is looking great.

Semi final of BakeOff already! You have the same two faves as me.

What did you research for your PhD? Did you say it was American history? You must be very clever.

Hicky

that paper burning in your army days does not sound much fun!

I am impressed how you have sorted all your paperwork at home though, I really need to do ours some time.

glad you liked all the tea time treat food.

Drizzly on and off today.

It was back to vets for doggie check up today. Vet said she hasn't put weight on but not lost anymore either, so that is good, but we need to keep encouraging her to eat and to carry on with her painkillers for arthritis. So complicated going to vets now as you can't go in waiting room now. You have to wait in car and vet phones you, then comes and collects your pet. A lot of walking for the vets now!

Is your batter mix keeping ok in the fridge now? And is it a good one?

Had cheese and onion quiche, sweet potato chips for tea and the last of my cherry crumble and cream.

My tv all sorted too tonight with Bake Off and then IAC.

Might go to costco tomorrow, but will come back if there is a big queue or if it is too busy.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Baz.

Glad you managed some sleep, so needed.

Warm today really with 15c, light cloud and a fresh breeze.

Didn't do a lot, made some Hotdog Rolls to see if i could as for some reason it was mentioned on another thread and made me want to make some, quite a different recipe to what i nowmally use as they are supposed to be a soft roll, but when brushed with egg wash it gives a lovely coloured top, will post a picture.

No paper burning, it makes a terrible mess, never got to the manshed to do any shredding, its going to take for ever and a day.

Had Frosties for brekkie, nice and quick, beed watching darts this afternoon, on now as well, 7 to 11pm and all week so made up.

Got a letter from HMRC telling me how much i owe and need to pay, posted on the 8th, i paid on the 12th, letter arrived today the 17th, how on earth does it take 9 days to arrive here i want to know, unless they hold them back as if they don't pay the postage.

I remember getting a right telling off in the Singapore camp once, i delivered a letter to the the mail department and handed it over to one of the staff behind the counter, omg, what a row, because all the mail i handled was Top Secret i wasnt allowed to just hand it in to anyone, there was a procedure that had to be followed and only one person i was allowed to hand it to.

I don't think my bad eye has improved, not gone any worse, i can manage with the right one ok, if i look at stuff that is white i get glareback which is a pain, i go back to the eye clinic in a month.

Played chess with my lad the other day, he was white and did a strange opening, probably a wrong move but he kept going, i won in 7 moved.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep tight.

15c light rain showers and a strong wind.

Didn't do a lot, had bacon and black pud on toast for brekkie, fo tea did one of my Hotdog rolls with a Hotdog, onions, mustard and Ketchup, so good.

Managed to shred another quantity of paper, it didn't seem mo effect the size of the pile, the paper is in plastic sacks as i don't want to get the sheets damp, i am shredding 3 sheets at once now, pity i can't put it in the recycle bin.

Mrs H not doing the shopping in the morning as she has a Christmas Bonus extra 10% discount on goods, starting Friday and lasting till Monday, very strange, so she will do the shopping after work Friday, mind you i don't really need anything this week, still got lots of fruit to enjoy so don't need any of that.

Been watching the darts since 3pm, i watched the IAC from last night before that.

Looking forward to IAC tonight as the darts finish at 7pm tonight till tomorrow.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep tight.

hope you slept ok and had a good day.

Hicky

wow those hot dog rolls certainly look good.

that's good you have darts to watch now and chess to play.

These official letters always seem to take an age to arrive.

That must of been horrible getting in deep water just because you didn't know the procedure for the mail.

Such a nuisance trying to shred paperwork as it takes so long. Pity the burning was so messy. We still have loads to do, a lot of my mums we still haven't shredded yet.

Pity your bad eye has not improved, wonder if they can help you any more at your next appointment?

That's handy MrsH has a 10% bonus , mabye you could get something to freeze whilst the offer is on?

Went to Costco this morning to stock up on stuff we were running low on. It gradually got busy, good job it is such a big place as it wasn't too crowded even when busy. Not pleasant shopping now, with trying to avoid people, wearing the mask, applying the hand sanitiser, and not even the cafe seats to sit and rest in. Couldn't wait to get home, but I did get takeaway first from costco cafe. My usual potato, beans, cheese.   Won't go back now until next year.

Wet day today, but dried up enough this afternoon to take doggie a walk inbetween the showers. We had to wrap her well in her blanket as the wind has gone very cold today.

I too am really looking forward to IAC tonight, its a great series so far.

Goodnight both xxx

Evening Mollie.

Very pleased with my first effort on the rolls, the texture was very good.

Yes, the darts fills in some of the day which is great.

I wonder why it takes 9 days for a letter from HMRC, don't understand.

It wasn't that i didn't know the procedure, i just forgot as i didn't normally take mail over to that area, maybe someone else takes any, don't know, when i arrived in Singapore and went to my place of work, i was led to the mail office but wasn't allowed in, every day i went in the morning for about 3 days, it seemed they were waiting for my security clearance to come through from the security office in the UK, i think it was the forth day it came through and i was shown to the Bunker which was my place of work

I will tell you about the fun trying to get in the Bunker.

Its a shame my eye hasn't improved, dont know what else can be done now, will have to wait for the next test.

The 10% bonus is additional to her normal 10% they get anyway, so its 20% which is a lot, but she normally shops Thursday Morning but the extr doesn't start till Friday.

At least you got a takeaway from Costco, can't beat that.

Yes, doggie would need wrapping up with these winds lately.

I watched IAC as the darts finished at 7pm, it was a good show,

Have a good evening stay safe and sleep well.

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Very chilly today I slept better , so have been a bit more productive today ....washing , turned sheet ,  cleaning , dusting and fed birds.  I also had some M&S poached salmon for my lunch and paid my credit card bill I hope everyone else is having a good day ....with no bills

Mollie , yes, it’s was American History, and I’m definitely not clever Celeb is shaping up nicely .....we will be watching again Live from tomorrow until Tuesday ....hope you can join us.Do you not have a plus 1 facility on your TV ? I couldn’t believe they kept Laura and got rid of Hermine from Bake Off ....totally ridiculous choice ! I wonder who will be booted out of Strictly this week ....pity it wasn’t Maisie last week ! Apparently, according to Take Two ,  Nicola and her partner are going to be back to do a non competitive dance....I could do without that !Hicky , those rolls look yummy Sorry about your eye though Hope you can get the HRMC stuff sorted out once and for all ! Are you enjoying Celeb ?

Well my evenings viewing is sorted out ....Portillo Continental Railway Journeys , Masterchef, and Celeb Hope you both have a good evening ....stay safe

Evening Baz.

Glad to hear you slept ok, no bad dreams to disturb you i hope.

I remember some years ago i had a couple of bad dreams and found out that i could interupt them so they didn't go on, that was very handy.

You have been busy, don't wear yourself out.

The M&S poached salmon sounds good, i try it different ways, fry, poach, grill, and in foil in the oven with butter and pepper.

Cool today at 9c sunny most of the day but a fresh breeze.

I did some more paper shredding, seeing the sun was out it inspired me, must have done 100 more sheets, many hundreds left.

Had cheese on toast with toms for brekkie, for tea had the last 2 sweetcorn cobs then had spare ribs.

Going to make another batch of choc Brownies but the packs don't come till Saturday.

The HMRC stuff should be sorted as i paid it on the 12th and have the receipt from the web site, and HMRC even sent me an email so there shouldn't be a problem now.

Don't really want to see Nicole back, probably had lots of emails requesting her.

the Hotdog roll was nicer than i expected, in a couple of days i will make another Hotdog, it takes a few seconds to heat the roll and the Hotdog so a very quick meal.

My tv is sorted for tonight, just atched the IAC The Daily Drop, next Strictly take 2, then darts from 7 till 11pm. Have a good evening, sleep tight.

glad to hear you slept ok and had a productive day. Bet you enjoyed your M and S meal.

You have to be clever to get such a high standard qualifcation, even if you don't realise it.

That is good you will be back on IAC thread again soon.

I do have plus 1 on my tv but couldn't wait an extra hour for IAC, as it would be very late by the time I watched it and tidied up and saw to pets etc.

I too was shocked about Hermine on Bake Off, I thought from the beginning that she would make it to the final.

Oh no not Nicola and partner again...why? they were just rubbish. Think I may give up watching again at that point. Not keen on Maisie, think the wrong one went last week.

Hicky

20% bonus is a good deal so worth MrsH changing her shopping day if she can manage it.

I too managed to learn how to interrupt bad dreams, I felt like I was forcing my eyes open when asleep, but it usually works.

Well done shredding around 100 sheets, gets too boring if you do too many at once.

Glad to hear the hotdog rolls tasted as good as they looked.

Bet you will enjoy your choc brownies.

You have got a busy tv viewing schedule. Its nice to be like that.

I too am happy tv wise today, GP Behind Closed Doors, then IAC.

Had to go to beach today whilst weather was nice, to help son do some recordings in the sand (the son studying to be a sound engineer). MrM was had to make scrapping noises in the sand. Had to go to 2 areas to try and shelter from wind , then wave noises. He thinks he has it sussed for his assignment now though.

Had fish and chips as we were tired after our afternoon out.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

The bonus isn't 20%, she gets 10% anyway, staff discount, for some reason they are giving her an extra 10% for this weekend, Fri-Mon.

So many paper sheet still to shred, but no hurry, but have quite q few jobs to do now, mostly outside.

The Hotdog rolls looked very yellow o/h said, but with all the egg and butter that would probably do that, and theres no water in the recipe either, just milk, didn't have the whole milk it wanted we don't have that,

Thats an interesting thing to study for your lad, sound engineer, that must cover an awful wide spectrum indeed.

I watched a video a log time ago about what the sound engineers used to creat a particular sound, it was very interesting, like making the sound of wind and rain etc.

Ooh, fish and chips, this Friday, tomorrow i'll be making deep fried Cod in batter, will do chips to go with it as i'll have the Wok out anyway.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Evening All.

12c today with light rain and a moderate breeze.

Just watching iAC the Daily Drop.

Had 3 fried eggs for brekkie, for tea decided on deep fried slices of Cod in Tempura batter, done in Wok withoven Fries.

Shredded a few more sheets of paper, in between showers, my latest Amazon delivery came with pork scratchings, 6 packs of 3 choc Brownies and a bottle of Californian Reaper Chili Sauce.

Mrs H did the shopping after work, oh dear, everyone stops her to ask where stuff is, she can't even do her shopping in piece, she won't do that again after work, she got me wraps which i halved and folded and froze.

Got a piece of salt cod in water for tomorrows brekkie, will have a full english Sunday.

Sundays weather doesn't look too bad so might be able to get some wood cut for the new wire cage for the vine.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep well.

hope you slept ok and had a good day today.

Hicky

Sounds like MrsH had to earn her extra weekend 10% off today with all those people asking her where things were. Don't blame her to not doing her shopping after work again.

I bet you will enjoy your latest Amazon delivery.

We too stick to  having a full English on  a Sunday morning.

I had a little cheese and onion flan with left over small potatoes that I roasted in the oven with some butter. They came delcious. I eat it with some katso curry sauce son had left over from their curry. Very nice for me as it is a mild sauce.

Son's degree is a BSc specialising in sound to picture and hopes to work in that field for the film/gaming industry. He has also been studying Japanese for some years, as that should help him get work in the gaming industry. You are correct in what it involves. He wore his headphones and held a microphone recorder covered in a fuffy thing to keep out the background wind/wave noises whilst MrM scraped his boots on the sand to make a skidding noise. We tried to shelter from the wind, but the  1st beach was picking up too much wind sound for him, so we went to a different location of the sand dunes and that was ok as it was more sheltered. Let's hope he doesn't take long to pick up paid work when he is qualified as the equipment he has had to buy is expensive, eg an Apple lappy, the software and recording equipment.

Stayed in today as it was raining all day.

Just did some washing and chose some Christmas pressies online for the family.

Looking forward to tv tonight, will watch IAC, and record Gogglebox. Its good to have so much choice in tv lately.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

I have so many options for brekkie that i don't have a particular thing n a particular day, but i could have a full english to use all the ingredients that need using up.

Never heard of Katso curry sauce, it sounds Japanese.

I had some Japanese soup when in Singapore & another country, very strange, no real taste, no flavour, no spice and it was clear, couldn't understand it at all, am wondering if it was called Meso soup, something like that, wouldn't get it again, it might have been for cleaning your fingers after eating finger food.

I think you picked the wrong day to go to the beach to get external noise, the wind can ruin recording nut you can get filters that will take it out for you i think.

It wont be easy to get sound work as so much of the industry is closed down, yes, you need a lot of equipment for recording and video conferencing etc

I'm recording IAC as i'm watching the darts, Grand Slam of Darts from a Coventry Arena.

enjoy your evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  Cold and dank here today ....but I slept ok , so I’ve caught up with a few jobs today ....cleaned kitchen and bathrooms , done a load of washing and ironing , fed birds , had a pork chop for lunch , and now waiting for Argos to bring me a nice new cover for my iPad mini. I hope everyone else is having a nice Saturday , whatever you are doing

Mollie , hope you can join us for Strictly and Celeb tonight I understand what you say about plus 1 going on late ....but Friday, Saturday , Sunday and Monday we watch it live Wow , now your son really does sound intelligent ....and I’m sure he will get a job once he qualifies. My son has his own graphic design company and also uses Apple Hicky, are you enjoying IAC ? I thought Mo was hilarious last night Do you know when they start evicting campmates ? I have to say I’m very disappointed in AJ ....he doesn’t seem to do anything ...My dreams aren’t really the scary type ....more like  upsetting ...but I will see if I can do what you say next time I have one

Well, it’s another full evenings viewing for me tonight I hope you both have a good one too ...stay safe

Baz

Evening Baz.

That was good you sleeping well, wow thats a lot of work you did today.

Hope you got your ipad cover ok, they need protection.

13c today with light rain and a fresh breeze, didn't do any work outside, i like a bit of sun to encourage me.

Had a nice brekkie of salt fish with bacon  eggs and 2 crumpets, filled me anyone, sor tea just having a Korean seafood soup, so tasty.

Been playing chess with my lad online to keep my brain active, got the darts tonight at 7pm so will record strictly, also watch loads of chess games played on the chess clubs, there are millions of them.

Hope to be able to do a bit of work in the garden, was thinking of trying to pick up leaves, but its a blanket and they haven't finished falling from the big oak in an area about 6ft from my fence in a sort of nomans land.

Will get the gardener though with his morised blower which collects them better, as long as they are dry.

Yes, loving IAC, Mo is a wimp, he should have got 12 stars, what on earth was there to be scared of, nothing.

Think they start evicting after a week, but could depend how many are in the jungle.

Have a good Saturday evening stay safe and sleep well.

glad you slept ok , sounds like you were the usual busy you.

I got a bit confused of where you are when, forum wise, I went one night and no one was there.   At least I always manage to find you on Bake Off weeks though.

Your son did well getting himself a business in Graphic design as it is not an easy business to get into. MrM did it for awhile in college but ended up going into software testing as jobs were scarce then in graphics.

I too had to laug at at Mo in the task.

I think AJ hasn't had too much chance to shine yet with all those louder more confident older campmates around him. Maybe his time will come later on ?

Hope you can manage to put a hault to those upsetting dreams when you get them.

Hicky

that brekkie certainly sounds good to keep you going all day.

Yes Katso is Japanese and very mild, so maybe you did try it but didn't realise whilst overseas? I have heard of Meso too.

That is the trouble this time of year, most days are not a good day to get sound recordings at the beach. That day was the only rain free day this week, and not as windy as the other days, but the wind still ended up being a problem. Think he overcame it in the end though. He has to do a 15 min presentation of his work next week via zoom meeting, so he is real busy. And its harder to get feedback as they can't just pop into Uni for help. The software he usues is Protools. Have you heard of it?

I think next year is not going to be easy for any new graduates to get work, but at least the gaming industry is still in demand with so many using it during lockdowns.

That is great for you to be able to keep your mind active with the chess you play.

Good idea to get the gardner to sort the leaves out, sounds like you have loads of them!

Drizzly all day,so just a short dogige walk today.

I am looking forward to IAC tonight.

Going to watch some of the dancing now.

Have a good evening both xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

I don't think i tried Japanese curry, after their soup i wasn't impressed, they do things so delicately.

Never heard of Protools will into it to see what it entails, yes, its a nightmare for students at this time, very challenging.

I agree gaming has always had a massive following, i know my lads played games all the time so in lockdown it must have played a massive part and with the latest high speed fibre theres no stopping them.

Yes, chess is so challenging but good fun

There is far too many leaves for me, collecting and picking/carrying them is too much really, it would take me months.

I am recording IAC, forgot to record Strictly, will get it on the iPlayer later.

Have a good evening, stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Evening All.

Hope everyone slept well, not bad today here with 10c sunny intervals and a moderate breeze.

Had a video call from Oz, his Mrs is in hospital, she is due today so they kept her in.

Had a nice English brekkie, but for tea decided on a hot n sour soup so sliced a breast of chicken into thin strips and sliced a carrot usinf a potato peeler and added some dried egg noodles, nice will get another go at it as the sachet makes a couple of portions.

Had a game of darts with my lad, i won again.

I measured some wood for the vine cage and marked the pieces to cut, did some work in the greenhouse, as i am cutting down on the vine next year i am taking down the strainers that run end to end for vine supports.

Not sure how we will get the big tubs into the greenhouse yet, also i might buy another 2 tier staging, i have one in the manshed i could use mind, not sure yet.

The forecast for here shows the next rain is December 2nd, wow, that is good news for me.

I should have paid my credit card when you said you paid yours on the 19th mine was due then but should have paid it on the 18th, i missed it they sent me a text on the 20th.

Have a good evening stay safe and sleep well.

Hicky

Hi both x

Baz

hope you slept ok and had a good Sunday.

Hicky

How exciting that you are waiting for news of your new grandchild. I bet your little grandaughter is excited too. Hope all goes well and you hear good news soon.

I didn't realise all of Japanes food tended to be mild, but this curry certainly is.

I know they like uncooked fish, that is a yuck from me.

Not a bad day here today either, washing nearly dried on the line. Didn't bother heading for the coast as it gets too busy on sunny weekend days.

We had a cooked brekkie too. son makes the eggs and bacon and I make the rest. MrM does freshly squeezed orange juice and makes the bread, so its always delicous.

I too heard we have a dry spell to come, hope they are right.

Hope they don't charge a lot of interest for your late payment, so easy to forget a payment.

We eventually got a refund for the flights we had booked to go to Eurodisney. Flybe went bust back in March and it has taken endless emails and phone calls and paperwork to get it refunded at last onto our credit card.

Looking forward to IAC tonight. Didn't realise it wasn't a proper show last night, but of course Ant and Dec must need 1 day off in the week.

What a shame Caroline left in the dancing, although Caroline wasn't that good, I still wish it had been Maisie because I just don't like her dance style.

Been doing a bit of online Christmas shopping as no way am I going round the crowded shops this year for gifts.

I found quite a few little gifts at Etsy.com. But you have to be careful it is from UK, else it takes ages to arrive and costs a lot if its not. I can't believe how much choice they have and they are mostly small companies too, so thought it would be a change from Amazon. Daughter told me about them.

Have a good evening both. xxx

M

Evening Mollie.

Yes, granddaught driving her daddy crazy, she is like a Duracell clockwork doll singing Na nana nana nana or something.

I don't know if all Japanese food is mild, i just omagine it is, similar to Chinese, some Chinese food is hot, probably for the UK market.

I think i told you some time ago that i was in a Chinese restaurant with the boss many years ago and i asked if she could do curried prawns with fried rice for 2, she said yes, came back with a stainless dish of curry with prawns in and beautiful rice, the only problem was the prawns were still in the shell, that was fun.

the uncooked fish is special fish and they kill any bacteria by deep freezing it to about -70c before its used so it is perfectly safe, i've had a lot of Shumai or whatever its called.

It used to be about ÂĢ12 for a late payment, but as i pay over the odds they might not charge.

Glad ypu got your refund in the end, never easy.

I like Maisie, i thought dance styles matched the dance they were doing, don't understand what you mean, she is such a good dancer.

I've heard of Etsy, no idea who they are mind.

Neen trying to use some of the fruit up, o/h buys a load between us and we just eat our way through it, i have been getting apples, Kiwis etc, the apples i peel with a fruit peeler then core with the corer then slice into 6mm thick slices and munch like that, the Kiwis i cut the ends off, halve it lengthways then half it sideways then eat the middle out and the sides, very nice.

I need to make another loaf, also need to make a 3 Choc Brownie pack, yummy.

Enjoy the tv, stay safe and sleep tight.

Hicky

Afternoon Mollie and Hicky  It’s blooming cold today I slept quite well last night , but not really done a lot today Just some washing , dusting and kitchen cleaning . My M&S delivery arrived ok , and is now anti bac’d and put away! Apart from that I’ve had lunch and am now watching old episodes of the Bill I hope you are all having a good Monday

Mollie , awwww I, sorry you couldn’t find us the other day....I’m guessing it must have been one of the Masterchef days , when we have to watch Celeb on plus 1  We missed you in the Strictly thread too . I think it was a shame Caroline went , but I think she had peaked .....although I can’t abide Maisie , so would have been happy if she had gone And I don’t like the obvious bias Craig showed her ! Mind you , I think all the scoring on Saturday was off kilter .....way too many 9s and 10s being handed out imoI have also started doing my Xmas shopping online , cos like you there is no way I will be going to town cos it would involve getting on public transport ! I tend to use not in the high street for mine Hicky , lol at your Chinese restaurant tale...and your little  granddaughter  Any news from Oz ? Are you enjoying Celeb ?I think it’s ramping up quite well cos I’ve now got several grrrrrrr figures , including Shane , Ruthie, Bev  and Victoria

I hope you both have a good evening ....and we will be in the Celeb thread at 9 if you fancy joining us Mollie
