I know you probably don't want to hear this, but the first action I usually take is to turn the machine off and on again.

I had a problem when a plug in had died and the only way I found to restart it was to reboot. Now I can actually see the posted videos.

I saw the task clips, and if I were cynical I would say BB is making sure the viewers know that ALL the housemates have talked behind others backs. It can only help her.  

Actually, you should periodically switch your machine off and do a "spring clean", not to get overly technical, as you use them the accumulate "electronic" rubbish. This slows your computer down and can in some cases introduce issues. I rebuild mine twice a year from scratch, installing the OS and all the applications after a reformat of the HD. It's quite good as you also don't reinstall all those useless applications you thought you would need but don't.

Think of you computer like a car. MOT it once a year.

I can't do that with my laptop, as it actually belongs to the school. It really is time I invested in my own, so I can do what I like to it!

Yes, get your own as you say, you can do what you want with it. Don't know what your budget would be but you can get a hell of a lot for not to much cash these days. If all you are doing is mainly surfing then you have more choice.

Yeah, I mainly just surf, stream music (a lot), watch a bit of iplayer, and that's about it. 

My son's a big gamer, and does a lot of 3D modelling, so it's important to him that his PC is in tip top condition.
