Yes.....they seem to be confusing sexuality with gender
He is quite right, both the gay people are known to everyone in Barnsley. There are definitely no other gay or trans people living in Barnsley.
That comment there means he can never go back to Barnsley, a life in Mexborough for him now.

It's the first place that came into my head.
It seems to be equidistant between Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham.

It does feel a bit like, they want a new label so they’re different - but I guess they would say they need a new label because they are different.

That's the thing, it's so hard to comprehend when you know your gender and it's fixed.
