Yep, agreed on both points 
I will also be watching the France game. The other one doesn't do it for me. All of the third round games will be played together on a group basis. You may remember a few years ago Germany and Austria playing out a draw because they knew that they would both qualify.
in general it is better to qualify as leaders to get an easy opponent.
