There's one of those in my road and it's only used by the guy who asked for it in the first place. It's there for anybody with a blue badge, but nobody would dare.

Today we had a troupe of road workers arrive who boarded up 'his' space in his absence and got on with their work. When he came back, he let off a couple of volleys of expletives and then drove off again. So far, so normal. 20 min. later, 2 police cars, 3 officers. WTH. Nothing ever happens here and suddenly it's down town Manhattan. Go after real crime please.

They come down like a ton of bricks on the ordinary man.

I'm just non-plussed where they come from. The police station in Tavistock is closed, so they must have come all the way from Plymouth, which needs it's police officers much more than this wee village ever will.
