Britains Youngest Boarders on the  telly last night?
It was about a small prep school in Surrey, which seemed nice enough, but ÂĢ16,000 a year to send a child there? And their priority is to get them ready for the top Public Schools ie Eton and Harrow.
I felt so sorry for the little ones getting used to living without their parents (one pupil's parents live in Shanghai so he couldn't even get to see them at weekends).

I didn't see it but I don't like the idea of small children being away from their parents like that - unless of course the home life is violent or dysfunctional etc.

My DIL's parents live in Oman but she was sent to Cheltenham Ladies at 13 - she had a first rate education but there are disadvantages. She says she would never send my grandson (or the baby she's expecting now) to boarding school
