to be honest it depends on how big you want it - atm I'm doing 2 blocks a day because I have material enough to do that and the time.  When my studies start again in September, it will be back to 1 a week.  Also I can't do hand sewing as I have arthritis so I machine stitch which does speed it up.

After the blocks are done, I've got to sash the blocks (put coordinating material on it) then put wadding and backing on and machine it in place (that can be a night mare although there is a quilt shop in South Birmingham that has a special machine that does it in a matter of minutes).  Then you have to bind it which is a combination of hand and machine stitching.  It is a lot of work but so worth it when you see the results    If you hand stitch blocks - you can do it just about anywhere at any time unlike machine stitching

Wow Im in awe,cant sew,wont sew,me.

We have a quilting shop in the village....but Ive never been in

The Cockermouth one Amythist  My friend used to own it years ago, I'm not overly keen on it now, it's a bit rowdy. Although I can't remember the two Essex sisters, so I'm wondering how ,long they have had it.

yes that's her - she isn't posh but her friends call her posh bird because of how she dresses i.e. matching bags and shoes    she looks like a lush to me but I'm saying nuffink
