I feel a bit awkward posting this. However this summer I've been under a lot of pressure in real life and haven't been on these threads as much as usual.

Cologne always took an interest in my visits to Germany and a couple of times a year I would get her local newspapers, 4711 bits and bobs and souvenirs and send them to her home address.  I know that she was in increasingly poor health and was a less frequent visitor to the Forum too. So I wasn't too surprised that she didn't get in touch.

Tonight I was having a trawl through my FB friends pages and noticed that her death was announced by (I think) her daughter on 19th June. It came as a shock.

I'm unsure as to whether this was already known on the Forum.

I'll miss our little dialogues. TschÜße! Frau KΓ–ln.

Terribly sad news

cologne was a one off. A different thinker and I loved her for it. Over the years, cologne and I have talked many times on the telephone. She was giggler.

She couldn`t get through telling a story without giggling. She had an adorable childlike quality about her. I`ll remember her with great affection.

Rest in peace, Karin

Agreed! Lovely photos, too. Thanks, Scotty!

Thank you Scotty. How touching that you've shared pics of Cologne with us. What a lovely looking lady [ she also looks full of fun].

Its tragic that Cologne has gone at such a young age, after she fought so hard too. RIP lovely Cologne xx

Aww!

Col, you were the spirit of the forum to me so many times.  Thoughtful but sometimes very argumentative in the best thought provoking and sometimes very irritating way.  I know how ill you have been and how you saw my own health issues in a very supporting way.  Peace and love my friend.

Thanks for posting this Carport. I'd been thinking of her when I was recently in hospital.

And so glad you knew Cologne so well Scotty! Please pass on my love to her family as they have lost a diamond gal.
