Can anyone shed any light on this:

5 months ago, when the weather was blowing a hoolie,I parked in a shop car park next to a van, as I opened my door, a gust of wind banged the edge of my door into the side of the van.

I got out and was inspecting the van and my door for any damage, there was a small mark on  the plastic film the company had on the van, I waited for the driver to return and told him  what had happened, I gave him my phone number.

Now 5 mothns later I get a letter from Aviva, who is the insurer,I assume, asking me if I was involved in the collision accident.

Is this odd , or is it normal?

Sounds like a plan Kaffs, anything could have happened to that van in 5 months, could even be a whole different van, lol.

I don't want the driver to be out of pocket, if he had to pay for the plastic add thing, but the whole things strikes me as odd, and I don't want to yes that was me, and then find out the van is practiaclly a write off or some thing.

Side on isnae a ding.

Sometimes you can be too honest though.

There was only a mark on the plastic bit, no damage that I could see.

Course I ditched all the details weeks ago, because nothing had  happened about it.

Not keen on losing my ncd over a minor claim either.

Depends what you admitted to pal.

But that would be a GTF.

And protect it next time round

I said' sorry mate, the wind  whipped the door out of my hand and it banged your van'

yep - if they're saying you were in a collision, it's perfectly acceptable to say 'no I wasn't'    Tell them to bugger off.    Move house.

It's great fun.
