Summer, it's been a bitty day. I've been finalising accounts/tax returns for 3 clients, (and billing them ), another client wanted their paying in book back ASAP so I got the info I needed and dropped it back to the client. Then with the forecast I decided to cut the grass whilst it was dry. Within a couple of minutes of me finishing, there was a sharp shower.

Thanks for that Bakewell, it was good

Well done on getting the grass cut, sounds like you timed it just right.

We did ours at the weekend because we knew the forecast for the next week was for rain/showers.

Goodnight girls I was at SIL's tonight, Bramble chased sheep and rolled in something very stinky and ran off with a dead, rotted something- possibly a bird.. All 5 of the other dogs were at it too, they had a great time Yogi, there's a great app you can get for free called my fitness pal, calorie counter. I found it very helpful last year. It might not be suitable for you but it might be, or just worth looking at for reference sake.. Skylark I must have missed those tins! We're they tins of choccies?! All that stuff will be on the shelves next month won't it Sleep well all x

Lovely clip, squiggle

Over the past few minutes I've been hearing strange noises coming from my inside wall. I went into my back garden to see if I could see anything such as tiles falling off but nothing though I could still hear the noise. I was wondering if it might be coming from the adjoining house but I could see that her car wasn't there and there was no sign of any workmen's vehicles around. In the end  I knocked but there was no reply. I walked round to the back of her house but couldn't see anything. Eventually the back door opened and it turned out to be her neighbour had gone into her house and was drilling holes. Panic over.

Good afternoon everyone weather is cloudy with the odd sunny spell. Been grocery shopping - stocking up for my baby's return, later tonight. There was a wasp in my kitchen (the first this summer) and even though I have a mild allergic reaction to wasp stings, I did not kill it and set it free - Squiggle, you would have been proud of me. Re the dog rolling in stinky stuff, someone told me the dog is actually trying to put their scent over the stinky scent - a sort of territory marking thing. It's probably a load of rubbish.
Yogi19

I see the scent marking theory is also mentioned in that link, El, so maybe it isn't a lot of rubbish after all.

Squiggle, I missed the video on my last visit, I thought it was great. It brought back happy memories of my youngest son and our first golden retriever.

When we were out walking, Keira kicked off at a young collie who was also out for a walk with his owner. As far as I could see, the collie didn't do anything wrong, she was just being a bossy boots, with lots of growly barking. She got a severe ticking off, that sort of behaviour will not be tolerated. She knew I wasn't happy, and behaved like an for the rest of the walk.

Good afternoon oh it's nice to sit down, what a busy day! The back to school angry mums phase is starting, they literally walk through the door shouting at the kids. I may be slightly more absent than usual this next fortnight but I will definitely pop in as often as I can Interesting article El, thank you. Animal psychology is fascinating isn't it why oh why... Do they eat other creatures poo?! Surely it can't be tasty! Lol Yogi, I hope your reunion is a good one when your baby arrives home How many retrievers have you had? Squiggle, have you heard from grandson these last 2 days?

Gloucester will be having a series of mystery plays. On the local news today it was announced that as part of the series (though what it has to do with mystery plays is a mystery to me) on 15 June next year there will be a music event at the Kingsholm stadium. Rick Wakeman together with the Cheltenham Symphony Orchestra and the Gloucester Cathedral choirs will be performing his "The Myths and Legends of King Arthur". This will be the first time it has been performed in the UK since at London in 1975.

Must be the biggest music event in Gloucester's history, and is already attracting world-wide attention.

This clip from 1975, though I hope they have better singers:

(the theme has been used by the BBC on many of its coverage of election nights)

Keira is our second golden retriever. We got our first one when my youngest son was 15months old and she was the most laidback, good-natured and clever dog ever.

I don't envy you the next fortnight with the angry mums. Poor you, it isn't going to be a fun time.

My baby has phoned and should be home in the next 30-45 minutes. I do miss him when he's away - not so keen on the suitcase of dirty washing he'll present me with on his return.

Summer, the mystery plays are being performed over a period of time. The plays covering the creation to the Nativity are in November. Stories about the life of Jesus, the Passion, and the end of the world are in March. These will be at Gloucester Cathedral. Then all the plays will be repeated in June but performed in the traditional way from a pageant wagon in various locations in the streets of Gloucester. Also in June will be over 100 medieval groups with street theatre, music, dance and traders.

Unless I'm mistaken, the mystery plays are fairly lengthy and require some stamina from audiences as well as the performers. I believe that the intention is to attract a substantial number of tourists to Gloucester so it should be very crowded (which is a bit offputting to me).

Although the tickets for the Rick Wakeman concert are not yet available, they are already taking priority bookings. I would think the prices for the concert will be at the top end of the scale considering that every single Rick Wakeman fan in the world will be wanting to come as this is a one-off of something which had been thought lost for over 30 years.

Good luck with the kids Summer!
I never got the windows done, i couldnt be bothered !

I have one load left to wash and that's it.

I'll iron some of it tomorrow but the rest can wait until the weekend.

I don't blame you for leaving the windows. I was also looking at my windows today and thinking I ought to clean them - but I didn't.

Yes, I am glad to have him back home with us.

I don't like the 10pm start for BB either, I wish they'd stick to 9pm every night.
