love Lowry - I was born in a hospital in Salford lived in Eccles  -Lowry 's area and at a young age was taken to a local museum to see his paintings with  my primary school - very talented man

Salford quays has been transformed over the last 20 years hasn't it...it now has the Lowry Mall and Lowry Theatre complex.
We went to see 'Warhorse' in the theatre...and sat on the waterside after, for a drink...it's a really nice place to go.

Yes Lowry was very talented

There was the time that I was in the Bude area, it had been raining and there were lots of dark clouds. For a few seconds I saw a sunbeam shining through the clouds on to the wet beach. Another image which was worth remembering, a bit like a Turner painting. Not surprising that Bude is popular with artists.

Seeing the beauty of our country/side, and being able to capture it on a canvas is a real skill.

I wouldn't embarass myself by even trying
I'll stick with my camera

As you say, a real skill

My brother has taken lots of holiday photos over the years. The most eye catching one was at Lille back in March 2013 where there had been unexpected snow. This was of an art installation there  - the snow makes the photo into quite something.

Bude is gorgeous and can imagine seeing a moonbeam through the clouds would be amazing EL

@slimfern Great Movies Action channel is showing "The Narrow Margin" (1952) tonight at 1.35 am.
A detective sergeant and his partner escort a mobster's widow on a train - she has gone undercover as she has decided to testify against other mobsters.
Regarded as one of the best B movies ever made. Although the film mightn't appeal to you, your father could well like it. Has been shown before. Superior to the Gene Hackman remake.

Beautiful creatures but mighty powerful. I would never have guessed that we have a small wild population of them
Our climate is so very different to Australia and it's nearby islands.

If those news items were factually accurate the animals would probably have escaped from private collectors. Although some are kept at Hartpury College, the college had confirmed that it wasn't theirs.
Hartpury College is a college/university specialising in agricultural/veterinary/animal management/equine events such as dressage and is a few miles from Gloucester in the countryside. It does have quite a number of animals and other creatures such as boa constrictors.

Not much of interest on the Talking Pictures tv channel in the coming week. The only item of interest is on Tuesday at 10 am with a 1976 documentary called "The Many Faces of Christopher Lee" with Lee talking about his films with clips from them. Only of interest to his fans.

Next Sunday at 6 in the morning there's a 1933 film called "I Lived with You". Written by Ivor Novello and features him and very early roles for Ida Lupino and Jack Hawkins. Something about a penniless Russian prince being befriended by a young woman. It was directed by Maurice Elvey - what little I've seen of his films suggests that the film is likely to be near unwatchable.

Christopher Lee as the 'Prince of Darkness' is probably the character I know him best for.
I'll record the documentary, although I wouldn't call myself a fan

Thanks El

Here's a link to a British film called "Three Cases of Murder! (1955) on Youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKp8lHx15c0
Eamonn Andrews introduces each story though doesn't appear in any of them.
The three stories are totally different from each other, the only connection being that Alan Badel is in each one though as different characters.
The film is unlike any other, closest would be something like 3 episodes from "Tales of the Unexpected".

As the three stories are very different from each other it is likely that your reaction to each one will vary
The first one is very strange. The third one is the one with Orson Welles. Also in that is in an uncredited role is Patrick Macnee who can be seen very briefly - 1 hour 23 minutes Welles and a young woman are dancing, he says "why can't we enjoy ourselves" but then a woman in a black dress and Macnee in uniform stand up to walk towards them - he's seen for a split second at 1 hour 23 minutes 58 seconds.

the manager of Cheltenham Town is leaving to join Barnsley. It's not totally unexpected, there was talk of this towards the end of last season, but it's still a disappointing day for Cheltenham. Michael Duff is 44. was playing until 2016 and Cheltenham was his first managerial role.

By League One standards, Cheltenham is one of the small clubs whereas Barnsley has a capacity of more than triple that of Cheltenham. Barnsley were relegated from the Championship to League One so this is part of their intention to get promoted straight back up.

I've watched the first one...

It's quite creepy isn't it...a good idea for a story though
At first I thought he (Alan Badel) was invisible to everyone in the museum, as he wasn't acknowledged...got that wrong didn't I
He was definitely there for at least two people
