evening all and apologies for my absence today- it's been even more hectic than the other days this week!

I hope everyone had a nice day, squiggle I'm glad you got a breeze at last. I loved your family story, that's so lovely were you the youngest sibling then?

El, thanks for the Banksy update, who's have thought it would get that complicated

Leaving get well wishes and good night hugs for our absent friends http://i605.photobucket.com/al.../GetWellBalloons.jpg
~Sparkling Summer~

Good morning everyone, I don't think we are getting showers EL, not until Monday but thankfully it is going to cool down a bit.

Yes I'm the baby of the family Summer.  It was a lovely memory, I remember my brother taking us to a mirror maze somewhere too which I found quite alarming.  You would see a member of your party and try to get to them but it was only a reflection of them and you couldn't find your way to them.

For Yogi and moonie

Squiggle, when you are young, some things can seem scary, and when you look back as an adult you wonder why.

My mother's parents lived in Marple and we would visit them from time to time. Marple is near Manchester and once we went to the children's zoo at Belle Vue (it's been closed for years). One of its features was Willie the Whale. It was made out of concrete, 32 feet long, and 8 feet high and inside was a small aquarium.

I was young at the time and I was petrified at the thought of being swallowed by the whale and refused to go in.

I tend to be suspicious of tradespeople who knock on my door when I'm not expecting anyone.

A man knocked on the door a few minutes ago. He said that they would be in my area over the next couple of weeks looking at house roofs to advise on them. (Oddly enough someone knocked a couple of weeks ago saying the same thing, but this man said it wasn't them, it was someone copying them). He said that whatever work was done would be done without charge on the basis that we would recommend them on to other people if they needed work done).

If soomething sounds to be too good to be true, then it's probably is, as they say, so I told hilm I wasn't interested and shut the door leaving him muttering to himself.

^thats lovely squiggle you are a sweet lady

I'm away for the weekend for a wedding, will pop in when I can, but have a lovely weekend everyone in case I can't

El, very wise, it most certainly would be too good to be true. I would stay well clear of any so called trades people too

Sweet dreams to all, and get well soon absent friends

Good morning everyone

Another warm and sunny day here. Yesterday's forecast showers never materilaised. Looks as if the weather cools a bit from tomorrow.

Summer, I hope you have a great weekend Needless to say, there may be a request from some of us for you to bring back some wedding cake for us

for Moonie and Yogi, I hope you get well soon.

Good morning everyone, another hot and sticky night.  The last of those I hope. Yes EL I think it's a cooler week ahead which for me is very welcome.  We haven't had a drop of rain over here though although elsewhere in the county it's been drenching down.  We really could do with some now.

I hope you have a lovely time at the wedding Summer, and the couple have a great day.  Hoping you feel better soon Yogi and moonie - enjoy your day everyone

In the last couple of days scientists have discovered a previously unknown bacteriophage virus which they are calling CrAssphage which iives in the human gut. It's far too early to know what the effect is as to is it harmful or not. But when they do further research it may be that if it is harmful then it can be targeted, or if it's not harmful could be modfied in some way to target damaging bacteria. Either way, this discovery could one day be very good news for anyone who suffers from gut problems.

Squiggle, that's a nice Flanders & Swann song. Not all of the railway stations mentioned were actually axed in the Beeching cuts, and some of the ones closed have re-opened. One mentioned is Midsomer Norton (which has nothing to do with Midsomer Murders though apparently a murder mystery will be held sometime) and is now the centre of the Somerset & Dorset heritage railway station.

El Loro

I did think that one of the stations mentioned was Mortehoe, which they pronounce Mort E Hoe but down here it's called MORThoe.

I have been on the West Somerset Railway which is a lovely ride. all along the coast from Dunster via Blue Anchor and Watchet to Minehead.  I think you have mentioned it before, but not the Somerset & Dorset.

Good morning everyone, I hope all goes well with your client EL   I woke up to a lovely refreshing shower this morning, the garden is very grateful and it's lovely to feel the weather so much less heavy than of late.

I too am a little worries about Yogi and moonie Summer, we all miss them and they've been gone ages, I hope we get an update soon

Enjoy your day everyone, hope it's not too busy Summer, just busy enough to make it enjoyable.

Poor Moonie, he really seems to be having an awful time of it. Please tell him we are all thinking of him and hope he feels better soon.
