Squiggle, I think it's the increasing humidity which poeple will suffer from. It looks as if Friday will be the hottest day and it then breaks down into Saturday with the potential of big thunderstorms.

I mentioned on Sunday that my brother's next visit would probably be right at the end of August, that's the one after the late August bank holiday. He had seen that on the bank holiday weekend there was engineering work which would result in delays and longer journeys.

I received a letter re claiming the winter fuel allowance. As I don't receive any benefits I don't get it automatically so I rang them up to make a claim. £200 to go into my bank November time. I may well donate it on to the Gloucestershire Community Foundation so that it goes to those who need it more than I do.

Hi moonie are you coping ok with the heat?
Bramble didn't want to go far at lunch, I let her toilet and brought her back in ASAP. Work is very cool, she's just relaxing at the moment

Re the dangerous stretch of the A417 at Birdlip on the way from Gloucester to Cirencester that I have posted about before. The Transport Secretary has visited the locality today and although not making any announcement has said that the proposed improvement will be seriosuly considered by the Government.
